Klipsch F3 speaker

I just bought  klipsch F3 speakers from bestbuy and was wondering what would be the best way to hook it up to my yamaha receiver. I have a yamaha HTR-6130 receiver that I hooked the klipsch F3 speakers up to as you normally would with any speaker. I have 12 gauge speaker wire connecting the speaker. I was reading that I would get better sound from the speaker if I hooked it up by biwiring the speaker. The performance of the speaker hooking it up normally just does not seem like it is giving its optimal performance. Any ideas or suggests on how to exactly hook the speakers up by biwiring them with normal 12 gauge speaker wire would be a great help.

There are two gold pieces connecting the tweeter and the woofer. Remove the two pieces.
You will need two wire extensions for positive and negative speaker connections. There are multiple ways to achieve this. The easiest involves one wire lead screwed underneath the binding post, and the other wire is connected using banana plugs. You may need to use another method depending on what type of speaker wire connection your receiver has.

  • Is 60gb iPod Video compatible with the Klipsch iFi Speaker system?

I just got a new 60gb iPod Video and I have the Klipsch iFi system on backorder.
Now I am a bit cconcerned that it may not be compatible.
Anyone out there have this combination?
How is the system working out?

I sent an e-mail yesterday through the Klipsch Support link asking that same question. On their website it did mention that it didn't fit the smaller iPods...Nano, etc. but did support the older 'larger' iPods...20G, 40G and so on. I'm thinking it's like the universal dock situation, we may need an adapter or just be careful when we attach it, as it won't be fully supported within the cradle, but still connect..I'll keep you posted.....gary

  • Klipsch Speakers - humming noise

Anyone have advice as to how to minimize or remove a steady humming coming from a Klipsch bass speaker? The Klipsch set consists of an amp and bass speaker in a black box connected to which are 5 smaller Klipsch speakers. The amp is connected to a G5 via fiber.

Shouldn't be a ground loop caused by the audio cable from the G5 to the speakers because you are using optical.
I would try either plugging in the power cable of the amp/speaker system into the same outlet/surge protector as the G5 (can help eliminate ground loops) and/or make sure that no audio wiring is touching any power cords.
Also, are there any fluorescent/halogen lamps near the G5 or the amp/receiver/sub?
The cloning is a good idea for data safety, but not at all relevant to your ground loop issue.

  • X-FI:ExtremeMusic: Left Works, Right doesn't, Headphones Work in both ears

So I have a Klipsch iFi Speaker System (2.). I have it connected via Mini-Mini into the line-in on my card. I plugged head phones into the same slot and get sound coming out of both ear pieces and everything sounds good. I unplugged the system from my sound card and threw my iPod in the dock and everything plays fine, comes out of both speakers. Any ideas?

    Auto answer:
I repair it updating to beta drivers. X-Fi owners want drivers for linux, and we haven?t decent drivers for windows. It?s a pity.
    See you.

  • Weak Sound from Surround Chann

    Hey there,
I have an Audigy 2 Gamer running on a Windows XP machine. I've got the card connected to the Klipsch 5. speaker set. I have a rather irritating problem. When I listen to music, the card seems to be performing an almost ProLogic-style mix before sending it to the speaker system. The front left and right speakers sound fine, but the rear left and right speakers put out weak sound (rhythm, no vocals, blah). No sound comes out of the center channel.
I've had this problem before and it was fixed with a little help from some Creative people, but now it's been too long. Now I've reformatted and I'm having the problem again. This might be a stupid question, but is there any way to tell the SB Audigy to simply output the same (stereo) sound to every speaker?
    Thanks!

    Hi Gordon,
Welcome to the Apple.com discussion boards.
If you have a Powerbook with USB2.0, you could get one of these - http://www.smalldog.com/product/33122 (if they were in stock) - if you don't have USB2.0 and you do have a PC Card slot, you could get a USB2.0 PC Card and plug it into that..

  • No 5.1 sound Audigy 2 zs w. Klipsch speak

I have Audigy 2 zs gamers edition card with Klipsch Pro Media GMX D-5. speakers. Winxp all updates applied, all Audigy updates applied.
My problem is that I don't get 5. sound via the Audigy. When I run the creative speaker test or calibration, I only get sound from the front l/r speakers, even though I have 5. speakers selected in creative software and control panel.
When playing games with 5. sound I have this same problem. If the game has an in game speaker test (ex: half life 2), I will only hear sound from some of the speakers during the 5. test, never the rear speakers.
When I run the Klipsch electronic test I get sound in all 5 and I can tell by the unit's leds that it detects the digital connection. Klipsch connect via digital coax to audigy SPIDF.
I've verified the connectionss at least 4 times and even had a friend who also has an Audigy double check my connections.
I confirmed with klips that these speakers are 00% compatible with Audigy 2 zs for 5. sound.
In the creative software I've tried syncing with control panel, not syncing etc same issue.
Any suggestions here I"m stumped What do I need to do, to get 5. working?
    thanks !
    Ty

I have managed to get my Creative p580 5. speakers working, I dont know if this will help anyone but I had only installed the latest drivers from the internet, I had'nt installed anything from the CD that came with my Audigy 2 ZS.
To get my rear and center speakers working I installed the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 applications (I did'nt install Media Source) from the CD that came with the Audigy 2 ZS, this did'nt overwrite the latest drivers, it only installed the Creative applications.
Once installed and re-booted follow the steps below:
Start> All Programs> Creative> Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS> Creative Speaker Settings> -Under the Speaker/Headphone selection (it should be set to 5.) Un-Tick Synchronize with Control Panel, then restart and hopefully you should have your 5. sound back : )
    I hope this helps somebody.

  • Charging IPod on Klipsch Speaker Docking Station

I leave my IPod on the docking station 24 hours a day so that I don't have to put it on and remove it everytime I want to listen to music even after the battery is fully charged. Am I destroying the battery life by doing this? My battery doesn't seem to last as long anymore. Any suggestions?

As long as you occasionally use it on battery power and drain the power, this shouldn't really be a problem.
These docking stations quit charging once the battery if fully charged, so there is no way this can fry your battery. Can it reduce the battery life, certainly, this is why I'd recommend that you use it on battery occasionally. Always, always running it on AC will eventually take its toll on the battery.

  • SB Audigy 2 and Klipsch 4.1 THX Certified Speak

    Hi
I'm wondering if I'm using full potential of my soundcard, or should I invest in newer speakers that can be connected digitally to soundcard? in order to get new speakers I'd have to convince mom there is something wrong with these--even though I have my own money now, I can't spend it on my own due to disablity. My Soundcard is SB Audigy 2 Platinum.
    Thanks in advance
P.S. Is there a way to make my current speakers digital, so I don't have to convince to get new ones

    Bikeman,
I don't know if anything is wrong with them, but they are definitely less than what your card is capable of. If you plan on watching DVD you will want something that is 5. to get accurate sound reproduction.
So, not saying that they are broken, but something 5. or 6. would be better for your system overall.

  • At a loss: Audigy2 ZS Platinum & Klipsch DD5.1 connection prob

I have read many forums, posts, etc. related to SPDIF, optical and digital out connection between Audigy2 ZS Platinum and Klipsch DD5. decoder and can't find a solution to my problem. I would like to play MP3's stereo x2 or 5. through my DD5. connected to Klipsch Promedia 5. speakers, all I can get is front L and R with nothing coming from the rear speaker. I have tried each of the three digital outputs, I have set SPDIF passthrough, digital output only, 5. as well as 2/2. speaker settings, and have toggled Enable CMSS 3D in the EAX console, also have Prologic enabled on the DD5. with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions? When the Promedia's are connected to the analog connections on the Audigy2 they sound great, MP3's through all speakers with CMSS 3D enabled, but I am using the Klipsch DD5. connected to my T.V., DVD etc. as my home theatre and would like to connect my PC this way as well. I have tried 3.5mm splitter on the back of the speakers and connected to the Audigy2 as well as the DD5. but this seems to cause a significant hum, interference etc. Any ideas?

    Saku746,
What you are experiencing is normal for Digital connection such as coaxial/optical. You can get more information from the article at knowledgebase.
    http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=5764
Check your speaker whether it support Dolby Pro Logic II or other upmix matrix. If it does, then you can enable that to provide matrix of 5. to the speaker.

  • No Center/Sub from Audigy using Klipsch Promedia 5.1 (analog) - NOT a CMSS/digital output qu

<FONT face=Garamond>I am receiving no center/sub output from my Audigy Platinum card. I have had the card installed on the same system (P4 3.0/ASUS P4800 Mobo/Win XP Pro SP2) for a couple of years with no problems. I recently began experiencing intermittent loss of my center/sub channel. Since I have not changed the connections in quite some time, I was able to rule out an improper output connection. Also, I was able to independently test the speakers themselves and the center and sub are both functioning. Additionally, I switched my Klipsch volume/channel output controller to headphone mode and ran the Creative Speaker diagnostic and I hear four channels (FR/FL/RR/RL) in the headphones (as I do with my front and rear speakers) but I <EM>do not</EM> receive any signal for the center channel (i.e., no "center channel" speech signal). Based on all of the above, I am certain that the speakers are functioning correctly (I am of course using them in analogue mode), there is no "switch" on the rear of the subwoofer for 2/2., all of my Creative and windows software are configured for 5. audio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the creative drivers and software (using Driver Cleaner Pro in Windows Safe Mode) and reinstalled from my original Audigy CD and then performed a complete Auto Update from the Soundblaster.com site. <Still no center/sub even in diagnostic test!!!!
    <FONT face=Garamond color=#ff0000 size=4>
I want to be clear: I am not confused about CMSS 5. gaming/audio issues; I believe this is purely a soundcard output issue. Despite all the grousing I read about the Creative driver series, I have been most happy with the Audigy Plat card. It has performed extremely well with the Klipsch 5. in gaming, DVD, and audio contexts for several years through numerous driver updates. I know how to configure the settings to get true 5. in any context. However, now I am completely stumped. Is there anything I have overlooked or might try so I do not have to conclude that this great card has just "crapped out" and now needs to be replaced?
    Thanks for listening.

<SPAN>Thank you! I had my digital coax connected there with an adapter, but since that can only carry ac-3 and stereo signals im better of using direct 5 chan ( i don?t watch movies on my PC... that?s what the home theater is for) Most games use EAX or some other direct sound, so ill stick with 5. direct analog. who would have thought the digital jack was also for center/sub heh.

  • A solution to the S750 speaker system problem

Well my s750 died just like everybody elses. But after creative wanted me to pay 75% of my purchase price, I found a better solution. Nope, I am not fixing the unit like you guy's. I do not see the need to fix a poorly design system! I am not sure if creative or indigo/bash/blade audio is to be blamed. But if I had to pick, I would say "indigo/bash/blade audio". Years ago before blade audio became indigo, I had a chance to visit their location in ontario Canada. This was just when they stop making the blade audio car amps.
While I was there, I happened to see this long list of brand names they had started to make amp modules for. Names like Harman International, Klipsch and so on. Anyway I cast the blame on indigo for this reason: Some years ago I had purchased a set of "harman international" infinity IL series speakers. Like our creative s750, the infinity shares a bash powered subwoofer system. And just like the s750 the infinity subwoofer like to blow up too! In the case of the infinity, the power supply was the weak link. The amp module in the infinity at that time, was built just like the blade audio car amps before. Which in my opinion is a much better design than what is being used in the s750. I remember one of the sale guy at circuit city at the time saying, "I wish we would drop this model". He went on to tell me the failure on the powered units were very high. You know there is a problem when the mid level Creative Inspire T7700 7.1, out last the flagship s750. Now, whats my better solution you guy's want to know? Two words , Simplifi Digital! The 7075a 7.1 amplifier along with Definitive Technology Pro Sub1000 and the remaing surround speakers from my s750 system. Yes, it did cost me more to go this route. But what I now have is a much more reliable system. And a sound that the s750 can only dream about. My s750 died while I was listening to Dave Bruebeck quartet "take five" at mid volume. With my current setup, I can listen mid volume all day long with no hiccups.
For those who my have the cash to spend. I recommend looking at my direction!? Keep this in mind, make sure whatever powered subwoofer you choose, is adjustable up to 50hz. The creative surround speakers dont play very well below 20hz. Also make sure whatever powered sub you choose don't use a BASH amplifier. For those looking at the s750 as a purchase, good luck. Or go over to partsexpress.com and get the Dayton Part Number 300-670, surround speakers. Then get the simplifi digital 7075 7.1 amplifier and power subwoofer of your choice and make a better/best system. Sorry Creative Labs! This post is NOT intended to cast negativity. I use and like the products you offer. I just do not like the s750, and the reasons are all over this forum and elsewhere on the net. I currently own 3 audigy 2zs sound cards, three Inspire t7700 speaker system, three sound blasters modems and yes, one defective/dead s750 speaker system. If anything use this post as a positive to what Creative Labs could offer in the future. A system like I now have, sure would be nice with the Creative name all over it.

My system specs below. What I have now simply blows the S750 away. And this is mated to my Audigy 2zs card. I am tempted to try my Terratec Aueron 7.1 universe which does sound better than my 2zs. The Simlifi Digital amplifier is one serious unit. This amp has one HUGE toroidal transformer inside of it! • IMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, running Lion 10.7.3, won't recognize external speaker jack, any suggestions?

iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, running Lion 10.7.3, won't recognize external speaker jack, any suggestions?  Got a brand new iMac and purchased external speakers for same.  Hooked them into external speaker jack and the computer does not recognize the external speaker jack.  I then plugged them into the external head phone jack and the computer recognized the head phone jack.  How can I get the computer to recognize the speaker jack?

Thanks "a brody," my mistake, I was mistaking the "audio in" jack for a speaker output jack.  I have some Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers with a built in amplifier that I am using and they sound beautiful.  I do have them plugged into the correct jack, but was thinking there was a speaker out put and headphone out put.
Thanks again for correcting me, I feel much better now that I know my brand new iMac isn't defective, lol.

  • Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 compatible with iMac 12,2?

After researching on line for a superior 2.1  external speaker component to purchase I bought the (wired) Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system. The owner's manual states since ProMedia 2.1 has an internal amplifier, they are designed to use the "line-out" connector of (my) computer. I realize that my 27" iMac desktop (mid2011) does have a 3.5mm minijack output for both headphones & "line-out".
My concern is will the Volume Control of the control pod interface correctly allow volume control of my speakers? Considering that the owner's manual states: "Some soundcard and /or PC manufacturers may have software that must be adjusted separately from the WINDOWS volume control. -&- "SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE GAIN CONTROLS" directions are described for :  "Software Volume Controls in Microsoft Windows" - ONLY!
I (naively) have expectations that Best Buy, being that the are the only outlet that I could find that sells these Klipsch's speakers -&- have a APPLE "store within a (MF) store", should **** well know if the two items (Apple computers & Klipsch external speakers) are compatible with each other!!  SILLY ME!!!!
I do NOT suffer FOOLS, gladly!!
If someone has experience or an informed opinion, I would be very grateful for some input. I suppose I could unpack the speakers and experiment, but **** it, when will computer-affiliated businesses learn that PC does not equal MICROSOFT (!#$!%) WINDOWS?
    -fpn

Wondering if you ever got these to work. We purchased yesterday on a whim & after set up smelled hot metal & LED light went out on the one that has the controls. Only noises we have got out of them is a strange loud feedback & a pop when they are turned on or off. What gives?

  • Center Chanel Not Working: SB ZS 2 Gamer & Klipsch ProMedia

Not sure which section is appropriate for this answer but it could fall under speakers or the soundcard
I've read a few things on here about getting my center channel to work, but no luck. I have Audigy ZS gamer and for speakers I have Klipsch ProMedia 5.
I've switched the sound panel in my control panel to 5., I've looked into the audio console as well in the EAX section s well as the CMSS 3D and still no luck. I've unplugged and replugged the wires as well. I know for a fact that it was working before I reinstalled Windows a few months back. I've done all the necessary driver updates as well. Any other changes or possible "buttons" somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any help

Does it work on the speaker test in the Creative software? If it does then try turning on CMSS.Message Edited by nvidiot on 08-27-2006 09:39 PM
