KM Bookmarks Deletion

Hello,
When a portal user deletse a SAP BW KM bookmark from their favorites or Bex Portfolio, it does not appear to delete the bookmark from the underlying tables in SAP BW. Is this the normal behavior?
The converse situation is also an issue where a bookmark deletion in SAP BW using one of the utility programs RSWR_BOOKMARK_REORG, does not affect the visualization of that bookmark on the portal,

Hi Praveen,
first thanks for your fast answer.
I know this link and how to change/organize the Portal favorites.
What's about changing or creating a new workset. When I do a copy of an existing one and delete the old one can I use the same Id without loosing all bookmarks? The Url does not change...
If I check the path in content directory it seems to be ok. The portal knows the new object under the old id... But when I execute a saved favorite (BI KM bookmark) the system is showing "site not found or available"...
When checking the hyperlink to content it is showing the rigt one. But bookmark seems to be lost...
Regards
Andreas

  • How can I undo a bookmark delete

I accidently pressed a mouse button while my cursor was hovering over a bookmark, and the bookmark disappeared. After searchinf for help there was no result that had all of the key words 'undo' 'bookmark' 'delete', but many that had only one, which was entirely unhelpful..

I think; If you have not closed Firefox, you can undelete what was done.
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

  • Firefox 28 has double of all bookmarks, deleting one deletes both

I have "Bookmarks Toolbar" and "Bookmarks Menu" both listed twice in my side bar (what appears when you hit "cntrl-b" and I cannot delete the duplicates, it deletes both versions. I have uninstalled and re-installed FF, and also tried resetting all settings in about:suppport.
I have Windows 7, and the add-ons I have are adobe acrobat pro, roboform, tab mix plus, accuweather and adblock plus. Although the problem persisisted when all of these add-ons were disabled during the reset.

You can see the number of bookmarks in a JSON backup file as part of the file name (xxxx in bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx.json), so take the one with the largest number if there are differences.

  • Context menu hotkey to open in new tab is different for links (T) & bookmarks (W); using T for bookmark deletes bookmark!--why?

When I want to open a link in a new tab, I right-click and press T. I ''think'' that the same key used to work for opening bookmarks in new tabs, also. At least I developed a reflex that always chose T for a new tab, whatever I was right-clicking on. Then a while ago, probably after one of the updates I automatically install (some time in version 3.x), I started noticing something different and extremely frustrating: not only is the hotkey for opening bookmarks in new tabs now different (W instead of T), which is just poor design--but to add injury to insult, when my still-stubborn reflexes pressed T, the bookmark was ''deleted''. Gone. I have thousands of bookmarks, and I make them so I don't have to remember things. If one is lost, there may be no finding the page again.
    EDITED:
Having posted this problem, I just realized that I've answered the why-it-happens part of the question. We're left with the why-was-it-allowed-to happen, but that's unimportant if we can put an end to the confusing behavior.
T in the bookmark panel and menus is Cut, which is standard in all kinds of software, and that my lost bookmarks could be restored IF I remembered to paste them again immediately. (I swear I checked it out just before originally posting, and Cut didn't appear, though Copy did. Maybe I was hallucinating.) Anyway, knowing this will help with the long-term problem, but it's still a bad idea to have two different hotkeys for the same operation. Hence what needs to change is using T as the hotkey in the links context menu.
Here's my proposal: Change the hotkeys for "Open in new window" and "Open in new tab" in both the right-click menu for links and the right-click menu for bookmarks. Right now we have:
    Links
    * Open Link in New Tab (T)
    * Open Link in New Window (W)
    Bookmarks
    * Open Link in New Tab (W)
    * Open Link in New Window (N)
N0te that the bookmarks menu is mnemonically backwards; Window should be W. Both menus should be:
    * Open Link in New Tab (N)
    * Open Link in New Window (W)
Can someone take care of this in an update, please?

This also drives me nuts, I work in research online and use firefox as its tabbed browing is so good, and I ofetn have to open lots of links in rapid succession from web-pages - obviously I use right click T as the fasterst method of doing this, and I use it so ofetn that it is now a reflex.
But, whenever I try to open a bookmark from my toolbar (much less often) I tend to deletye it, and if I am lucky enough to notice before I do anything else I have to go through a laborious process to undo the delete...
Interesting to read the reason above, but I would suggest that this is something that needs to be standardised across all of a browser's context menus, otherwise browsing becomes jarring.
I am all in favour of 'T' opening in a new tab from all context menus, but if this is not do-able I think you should consider picking a different letter. The N & W proposal above is good.
    Thanks!

  • How do I recover bookmarks deleted in error?

In deleting unwanted bookmarks, I deleted a potentially useful one in error. Is there any way of restoring deleted bookmarks?

hello BS01, firefox creates a handful of automatic backups of your bookmarks that you could restore: [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]

  • Why is a Folder of Bookmarks Deleted at Random?

This has happened a number of times, and I have yet to find a solution. At random, a whole folder of my bookmarks (over 50+) will go missing. I check everywhere and can't locate it, so I have to go back into time until I have the folder again. I won't noticed until I try to type in a website within the folder and it doesn't automatically show the bookmark
Why does this happen? Are there common ways that folders of bookmarks are inadvertently deleted? How can it be fixed?

Possibly you inadvertently move folders. If you have a lot of nested folders it is not easy to search for one as Firefox does not have any search for bookmarks folders option.
Once you find a bookmark from a folder you may open that bookmark and find out where the parent folder is. If you have folders where you will not be able to make a good guess at a bookmarks it contains why not create a bookmark as a label and make the name the same as the folder.
*It does not even have to be a genuine bookmark <br />''foo.bar'' will work as a location.
Or bookmark this thread and rename the bookmark, to remind you what you are doing. Maybe tag the bookmark, or search by name

It is worth trying this well respected addon
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
It may repair possible damage to the bookmarks database.
It is also able to produce a short .txt report log.
*That may help you decide whether or not 50+ bookmarks are going AWOL.
*It will also report on the status of the database. (So you may wish to run the report logger before and after any repair attempt.)
If bookmarks really are disappearing the above may help. The other option is to try recreating the database, but that may lose information.
Are you using sync ?? <br /> There are often reports of sync apparently misbehaving.

  • Bookmarks deleted and not readding when trying to re bookmark

When I got up this morning I noticed all my bookmarks had been deleted.  I have since tried to redo a few of them and they will not pop up in my book marks list.  I am sure I have them backed up but why did this happen?  I don't want to go thru the work of putting them on there if its going to happen again.

Try this and see if the bookmarks come back.
Quit Safari completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Safari app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Launch Safari and see if the bookmarks appear.
If that didn't work - try this next.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Why did it happen? That could be very difficult to say for sure. A fluke maybe. Not the answer that you want to hear, but like I said, it may be unexplainable.

  • Does importing bookmarks delete them from other browser?

Wanted to work around a neo yahoo group glitch - was going to import my bookmarks from IE, but don't want to delete them from IE until I see if this works - so need to know if I import to firefox if it deletes them from IE

Importing bookmarks from IE does NOT delete your Windows Favorites. They will still appear both in IE and on your Start menu > Favorites folder.

  • Bookmarks deleted in firefox after unistalling Aurora

I was uninstalling Aurora and then opened up fire fox and noticed that my layout has changed and my bookmarks were gone.

Sorry, if you selected the option to '''Remove my Aurora personal data and customizations''' when uninstalling Aurora, you deleted your Firefox bookmarks (and other personal data) along with your customizations.
I filed a Bug about that issue like 3 1/2 years ago when that option was added to the uninstaller, and the developers didn't take my advice about providing a stronger message. The developers didn't take into account that the uninstaller deletes '''all data for every damn version of Firefox / Beta / Aurora / Nightly''' that a user might have installed and doesn't tell the user about that "quirk". <br />Of course, unless the user specifically creates a Profile for each version of "Firefox" that they install, the same Profile will be used by every version the user might have installed. So when that option is selected, the user is deleting the only Profile they have, without realizing their mistake.

  • Bookmarks deleted automatically, some bookmarks change their links

I use Ubuntu 10.10 and use Firefox 3.6. I have noticing some weird problems lately with Firefox Bookmarks. Now I keep all my bookmarks in the toolbar. The first time when it happened, the bookmarks started scrolling left-to-right (i.e. the bookmarked icons kept moving) on their own! On top of that, Some of the bookmarks created multiple copies of their own in place of the other icons. So for example, suppose I had bookmarks for yahoo, google, gmail, facebook, twitter etc, All I could see is 4-5 icons of yahoo and 2-3 icons of google and none of the others (just an example). So I reset all my bookmarks again. But after few days the same problem happened!
    Any solution?

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

This can be cause by JavaScript that intercepts the mouse clicks and that isn't working properly.<br />
Disabling JavaScript temporarily after the page has loaded should make it work in such a case.
It is also possible that another element is covering the login field.<br />
In such a case a right-click and Inspect Element should reveal with element gets selected.

Once you have done that the first time if you click the star again the dropdown again shows as edit bookmark, but the next option down and dipplayed is remove bookmark.
Use keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + B to display allyour bookmarks and seewhat you have actually added.
