KM Configuration transport

Hi All
I have created new layout set
I want to transport it to QA , please let me know the steps to transport the newly created layout set
Thanks
Karthi D.

Hi Karthi,
In this blog series, Gopala Krishan explains how to transport KM Configurations.
Link: [KM Transports Part I|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4163]
Link: [KM Transports Part II|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4171]
Link: [KM Transports Part III|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4177]
I'm on Portal 7.0 SP20 and I know for sure that KM Configuration Transport procedures are all valid. (KM Content Transports changed since SP14).
The only difference could arise if you are using CTS+ for transports (if you are not, ignore this sentence).
Hope it helps.

Marcelo

In a two system landscape is it necessary to make development the domain controller always?
No such compulsion as such exist(correct me if wrong),however why you want to make production your domain controller?
    This is not recommended.

  • Configuring Transport workflow

    Hi all
I am planning to configure transport workflow in the Solutioin Manager 4.0 box. It already has TMS configured on that.If I configure Transport workflows will the already existing TMS will be deteled?
    Plz reply soon

    Hello,
each satellitesystem has his own domain controller.
The Solman is connected via domain link with these domain controller of each satellitesystem.
You can create this Links in two Steps:
    1.     - Logon in Solman system where the domain controller is located
             - Tcode: STMS→Overview→Systems
             - Mark the satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
             - SAP System→Create→Domain Link execute
Now you only create the request for an domain link!
    2.     - Logon in satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
             - Tcode: STMS→Overview→Systems
             - Mark the satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
             - There must be an option to answer the request from the Solman
You can check the domain link in Solman when you click in STMS on the button „Legend“.
The Typ „Other Domain Controller“ has a special symbol.
You get detailed informations about domain link in the SAP Library SAP Solution Manager.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/ae/64c33af662c514e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Please type in the search field "create domain link".
You will get some detailed documentations for domain link.
The transport workflow is realized in Solman with CRM and Solman actions.
    Example:
If the status of service order SDHF (urgent correction) is changed from "In development" in status "To be tested".
there is an automatic transport into QAS system. Please be sure that you have realized the transport task, before.
You can create also a backround job for each system/mandant (except the productive system) for automatic import of all realized transport requests. We planed these backround jobs in all of our satellitesystems (except the productive system) every 10 minutes.
For you productive system you should start the backround job (Import Transport Request (Background) from the maintenance cycle manually. The report is called /TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRORDER_IMPORT.
This report imported all realized transport requests from the import queue of your system.
    Hope it was helpful
    Best regards

  • Source System mapping for BW configuration transport

I create a data model mapped to the testing source system i.e DEV201 but the configuration source system is DEV200.
Now i am about to transport the BW configuration to BW-QAS , I am wondering if I have to assign the data model to the config. source system(DEV200) or i can created a transport request attached to DEV201 ?
Is there any concern on this ?

    Hi,
I'm not clear your system landscape. Do system landscape like that:
    BWD (BW development) --> DEV201
Now you want transport all objects to BW_QAS with connected to DEV200.
If this is true, you do like this:
    - On BW_QAS: create source system (DEV200). Maintain conversion of source system after transport (Original: DEV201; Target source system: DEV200).
    - After that transport your modeling from BWD to BW_QAS.
    Hope this helps

  • Integrated Configuration transport error

    Hi,
I just transported an Integrated Configuration from DVE system to the QA and the IC in the QAS is not configured correclty.
    PI 7.1
My IC have multiple operations and 2 receivers.
The Receivers System were translated correctly (SYSDVE > SYSQA) however the operations and the operation mapping were not correct when activated in QA.
In DVE Operation1 pointed to Receiver1, but in QAS my Operation1 is associated with Receiver2.
    Anyone had a similar issue?
    Regards,
    Martin

    Thanks for the answer Mickael.
The receivers are Business System. Everything seems well configured in the SLD. We did many transport without any problems, but it's the first time we transport Integrated Configuration.
I noticed that in my Integrated Configuration, the configuration is fine under the 'Receiver' tab for all of the operations, it's only under the 'Receiver Interfaces' that the Receiver Systems is not properly configured for the operations...

  • Difficulty configuring transport for 7.0.3 trial

I realize that there have been posts on this issue before, but I spent several hours yesterday searching the boards and never arrived at a complete solution.
I have installed the Netweaver 7.03 SP04 trial.
I have logged in as DDIC user and have executed the post-installation actions on SE06.
When I go to set up transport, however, I keep getting the error "TMS must be configured for 000".  All the documentation I have found seems to suggest that I should get a popup window on first connect to STMS to configure the transport domain - this popup is never shown.  I have tried Extras -> Delete TMS Configuration, but receive the error "TMS not configured for system NSP".
From reading some previous posts, I have confirmed that there is a "sapmnt" share available, and added the SYSTEM user with full permission roles to the share.  This did not seem to have any effect - I still receive both errors as described above.
What are the next steps I should pursue to get the transport working?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Manu,
I foolishly was not logged into 000.
    I've now done the following:
I've logged into 000 as DDIC
    I ran txn SE06 successfully.
I ran txn STMS and received the popup. After entering the values I received the error "Errors during distribution of tp configuration."
I went to txn SECSTORE, highlighted the two erroring values and then deleted them.
I returned to txn STMS and selected extra -> Delete TMS Configuration.
I saved and then reentered the password.  My STMS is now reporting that it's the domain controller.
    Thank you for your help!

  • TMS configuration - Transports between clients

    Hi Experts,
I have an ECC system on which I would like to configure 3 clients.  Client 400 for DEV, client 500 for QA, and client 600 for PRD.
I would like to configure TMS so that I will be able to transport directly from 400 to 500 and from 500 to 600.
Could anyone tell me if this is possible and (if so) how it should be done?  Could you take me through the process?
    Many thanks,

    title
    u2022     Improved import controls
If you work with extended transport control, you can import requests into different clients in a system without using  unconditional modes.
When you first import a request into a system, all the objects are imported completely. Any subsequent imports into other clients in the system only import client-specific components.
This makes it possible to set up consolidation routes and delivery routes between different clients in the same system.
    Hope this helps!

  • BCS configuration transport errors

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem when I tried to transport BCS configuration from BWD into BWT. Previously, those configuration were transported succesfully into BWT; however, somehow this time failed.
The error message that I got in STMS:
Communication error: Destination BWT -> long text
    Message no. FINB_TR047
    Diagnosis
A communication error has arisen during execution of the remote function call.
    Destination: BWT
Message: Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter
    System response
The import could not be completed correctly.
    Procedure
Check whether program terminations have occurred in the target system (target client).
I have searched few OSS Notes which is related but it doesn't help.
Do you have some ideas how to fix this problem?
Thank you very much and points will be given for helpful answers.
    Regards,
    Mona

    Hi Mona,
Looks like your RFC-connection is bad. You need to check it out, and repair. Probably somebody changed ALEREMOTE or BWREMOTE passwords.
See here the proper RFC's format:
SPRO: SEM/Business Analytics -> Fin. Basis -> Transport and client copies -> Transports -> Assign RFC destinations for transport methods. Click on the book icon and see the directions.

  • CM Configuration Transport

    Hi,
We are using EP 6.0 SP12. According to the documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e1/029c414c79b25fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
it is possible to perform transport of CM configuration using configArchives.
To test it out, I tried exporting a configuration item and saved it under test.configCM .Because we currently only have the DEV system installed, and no other portal installations to test on, I deleted the configuration item and then tried to import the test.configCM using the import functionality. However, I got the error:  'Enter a valid configuration archive name'. What could be the cause of this error, even though I did not modify the name of the configArchive downloaded?
    Thanks,
    Ju

Thanks Patrick, you are right. Only thing puzzling me is that why upon export, the file extension automatically assigned was configcm instead of configarchive. But it does work after I changed the extension to configarchive now.
Are there any documentation on Best Practices in Transporting Configarchives? I am aware that there is such a documentation for PCD transports, but could not find any for configarchives.
    Thanks,
    Ju

  • Configuring the Transportation Connection Point in defining Routes

    Dear Friends,
I have to configure the Route Determination for two customers:
    The Route follows like this:
    Route-01:  Norfolk--> Chicago---> Cleveland
    Route-01:  Norfolk--> Chicago---> Denver
I have configured everything except I am confusing in configuring “Transportation Connection Point”. This Trans. Connection Point is used for Load Transfer point.
In Trans. Connection Point there two Tabs called “Reference Customer/Vendor”  wherein I can give the number of the customer so that while creating Sales Order the Route will come automatically. and Reference Shpng.pnt/Plant.
For the creating of Transportation Connection Point at Cleveland and Denver I don’t face any problem as in both the cases only one customer is there because of two different customers.
But in the case of Chicago and Norfolk how can I give both the customer numbers so that while creating Sales Order the Route should appear automatically.
Could anybody explain which factor triggers the Route to appear automatically while creating the Sales Order?
I have to use these Transportation Connection Point in defing the "Route Stages".
I will be thankful to all of you,
    Thanks in advance,
    Jans

Guys anyone can help me here? Urgent help required

  • Transport Mgt System configuration - SP installation

    Hi,
I would like to install SP for BW 3.5 in a TEST system.
One of the prerequisites is to configure the TMS.
Is it necessary in my case, that is with only one SAP system?
    Thxs.
    LauQ

    TMS configuration:
    Configuring Transport domain:
You define SAP Systems in your system landscape form a transport domain, and which SAP System is to be the transport domain controller.
    Configuring Transport routes:
This is used to define in which target system you want to consolidate change requests, and which SAP Systems are forwarded this information automatically.
    Configuring QA Approval:
Functions to check changes in the QA system before you transport them to other systems.
    Configuring Transport workflow:
Allows you to make speedy corrections to the production system or make transports that do not follow the defined transport routes.
Refer to the link below for details:
