KM Content Lost in EP KM Repositories

Hi Experts,
We have upgraded my EP systems from SP13 to SP18 recently.  After upgration we lost my KM Content stored in File repositories,  I don't know how to retrive it back and why it lost ?
Can anyone help me on this issue ?
Regards,
Suresh

Hi Suresh,
Are you talking about an FS repository or a CM repository with persistance mode FSDB?
I presume you are referring to a FSDB RM.
There could be many possible reason for this but most likely it is caused by a synchronisation problem between the FS and DB, see SAP notes 900571 and 737877 which discuss this in more detail. There is a 'Disable Automatic FSDB Synchronization' parameter in the repository manager config which you can uncheck in future to make sure this doesn't happen but you will then need to sync your FSDB RM via the 'FS-DB Database Synchronization' report, see the following link for more info.

Generally the only way to retrieve your loast data is by restoring a backup, see notes 1000150 and 1000351.

  • Buffer Strategy contents lost

    I have a serious problem!
I am developing a game for my University project and it works fine in fullscreen mode using a bufferStrategy but when I send the jar to my friend or try to run it on my laptop the screen switches to fullscreen fine but I get "Contents Lost" messages and the menu is not appearing.
How do I fix this? What code do you need to see?

At iCloud.com in the upper right I clocked on my account name > Accouint Settings > Advanced > Reset Documents and Data and then I restarted my Mac and the messages are now restored.  Perhaps the restart might have fixed it by itself.
Thanks, Linc, for starting me down the right path.

  • Hard drive failed. All content lost?

    Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro that I purchased fall of 2012. Recently the hard drive failed and I was not smart enough to back the computer up before it failed. I am mostly concerned about the music that may be lost once I sync my phone to another computer. I have over 30 gigs of music - a lot of which includes old CD's that I no longer have. So, is all of my music (that I did not purchase from iTunes) really lost or is there something I can do? I have my entire music library on my phone and iPod classic.
    Any help is appreciated...

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
By the way, if you no longer have the CDs then you also relinquish your right to have any copies of the music from those CDs.

  • Itunes content lost on computer

  • All content lost on my phone

I update the software on my I phone and I have now lost all the content, photos, contacts, etc

Instructions are here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766  I believe you need this portion of them
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new iOS 5 device, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.
A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.
To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Complete the setup assistant after erasing your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings) or after starting your new device. When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, choose to restore from iCloud backup. Then enter your AppleID and password.

  • Notes: content lost

Lost Notes content from my iPad 3. It is not synched to iCloud or e-mail. Just notes. On the iPad.
Plowed thru "support communities" for "using iPad" and only helpful suggestion was to re-boot iPad by holding On/Off button and "Wake" button simultaneously for 10 seconds until Apple icon re-appeared.
This restored one Note I had written in past 2 days.
So where are the others?  How do I recover them?

Notes can be saved directly to the device or linked Over the Air like with iCloud or an email account like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. if you didnt have then linked to an account as mentioned you would need to restore your device from a backup via itunes as stephen mentioned above to recover the lost notes. If you dont have a backup then they will have to be recreated.

  • All iBooks content lost after transfer to new iPad.

I recently purchased an iPad 2 and after moving all the contents from my old iPad I have lost everything in iBooks. There is the option to redownload one purchased one but all samples are lost. More importantly though all of my PDFs have disappeared.
I would assume that they are still somewhere in the last backup from my original iPad. Is there any way to retrieve them from the backup?

Open iBooks, tap Library if you happen to have a book open, otherwise tap Store (upper left corner). When the store app opens, tap Purchased (lower left). You should be able to redownload any books you previously purchased through iBook.

  • IndDesign CS5 content lost

Problems with InDesign 7.0.4 (CS5) on Mac Pro MacOS x 10.8.5: on some page the content is lost. Text-frames and picture-frames are suddenly deleted.

    Same issue.
Working on 17 page document.  Made changes to two pages and went to work on another.  Went back to original changed pages and all content is missing.  No text boxes, not images.  Links tab still shows the images in the drawer and brings me to the page when choose Go to Link, but pages are blank.
Cannot add any content to the pages either.  Tried to copy and paste from an older version and I get an error saying InDesign cannot create bounding box.  When trying to add a Text box to the page InDesign hangs and has to be force quit.

  • I tunes content lost?

My old windows based computer crashed and I was forced to buy a new one. My question is: (it may sound stupid) "Have I lost all my I tunes content or will it be restored when I download the I tunes software on the new computer"? Any guidance will be helpful.

SOunds like you don't have any backups. Yikes! No backup means you've lost everything - not just music, but email addresses, documents, digital photos, all of it.
Do you at least have your music on an ipod? If so, you can install itunes, authorize your PC, and transfer purchases.

  • Two Apple IDs... deleting one and content lost?

I have a several year old Apple ID that I must have created a while back, but didn't use much as I only had an iPhone... but it has my current gmail email address
When I got my new iPhone, ipad and Mac, I couldn't rember what my Apple ID was (nor did I realize how difficult it would be resolve this issue in the future) amd created a second ID with an old comcast email account.  We are now getting rid of comcast and want to change the Primary email address for Apple ID to my current email / gamil account.... but I get an "email already in use" error message
Understand that I can not combine the content, purchased into a single ID but I am OK loosing the content, the price to pay to work around a difficult software.
How do I delete the apple ID with a gmail account and then after I delete that I can change the email addres on the comcast account back to my primary gmail account?  Is there a way to see the amount of content associated with my two apple IDs?
    Thanks
    Rob

You can't delete an account, but you can try logging into the old account via this page and change it's primary email address to be something else : http://appleid.apple.com - you can then try updating your new account to have that new email address on it.
You can see the purchase history of an account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes - if you log into your account via that then on your account's page there should be a Purchase History section with a 'see all' clickable link next to it.

  • Memory content lost when the battery runs down

My computer sometimes saves memory content when the battery runs down, as it is supposed to, so that when it restarts it is restored to the state it was in,  but at other times it does not.
Is there a way to find out why this is and fix it?

    Thanks for the reply.
Doesn't Apple recommend that you do exercise the battery by using its full capacity? They even recommend running it down from full until the computer saves the contents of memory to the special file, then leaving it 5 hours before charging fully again.
I have never heard of the 20% threshold before.
The odd behaviour in my case is that the computer sometimes does what is should: saves the memory then shuts down and when started restores that data, but at others does not save the data first, and starts up normally when I plug in the power and switch on.

  • KeyChain content lost from iPhone

I recently used the "reset network settings" option on my iPhone 6, this caused all WiFi passwords etc to be deleted, including from my KeyChain. The change also took affect on my other iOS and OS X devices which use the same Apple ID (and KeyChain).
I have managed to do a Time Machine recovery on a MacBook which has recovered the lost KeyChain items, and the MacBook is now able to connect to the networks which were previously deleted. However, I now need to get that info to Sync with my iPhone.
    I have tried:
    - restoring the iPhone
    - singing out of iCloud on all devices and then back in again (to encourage the Sync)
    Neither of these has worked.
Any advice on how to get the KeyChain info on my MacBook to push or sync to my iPhone, please?
    Thanks

    Hi Rory HQ,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like after resetting network settings on your iPhone, your Wi-Fi passwords were removed from iCloud Keychain on your other devices.
I'm glad that you were able to recover the information from your Time Machine backup. You've tried some good steps to get the data to sync again, and mentioned that you turned iCloud off and on.
If you turned the iCloud service off and on, be sure to also try turning iCloud Keychain off and on again, in this specific order:
If you can't sync iCloud Keychain with other devices
Make sure that your device is on a Wi-Fi or cellular network. If the connection appears strong, try these steps:
Turn off iCloud Keychain on all devices.
Turn on iCloud Keychain on the device that has the most up-to-date keychain items.
Turn on iCloud Keychain on your other devices. They will be updated with your new iCloud Keychain.

  • ITunes cannot read contents & lost iPod content

As an update to an unanswered post last week:
Following the upgrade to iTunes 7, I now get the 'iTunes cannot read contents of iPod' message when I plug in my iPod. The message tells me to 'restore factory settings' but I can't do this (because the iPod isn't recognised) & don't want to do this because I don't want to lose what is on my iPod (it wasn't backed up & isn't in sync with iTunes).
    Any suggestions?
In addition, all playlists have disappeared from my iPod menu along with a few thousand tracks. I believe the music is still on there because when I look at it via Windows, all the files seem to still be there.
Any ideas on how to restore these?
    Cheers

  • Itune contents lost in computer crash

I have recently lost my hard drive including all itunes files.
I have a new computer and have all my music on my iphone and ipod, but I cannot find out how to transfer any non-bought tracks from them to my new computer.
    Can you help please??

iTunes will only transfer the purchases made on the iTunes Store from your iPhone to your computer. iTunes treats all other music syncing as a one-way street, so it complies with copyright laws.
