KM Document display on Portal

Hi All,
i uploaded a document under Content Administration->KM Content->root->documents->public documents->xyz.doc.
what is to be done in order to display this document in an iView. what KM iView need to be used for this purpose.

That should be working fine once you assign the path to document.
It is working fine for me. Is this the case for all docs ?
Pls try checking with some other documnet in KM content.
Alternately try  assigning that iview to a role and that role to your user id.
Let us know how this works out .

  • Words documents opened from portal display website instead of document

    A user is opening Word documents from a newly-created section of our portal to find that the Word document displays the website instead of the text that is supposed to be in the document. Saving the document first and then opening it works fine.
    It seems similar to this issue:
    WWC-41400 when accessing PowerPoint docs
    with the following key differences:
    1. It doesn't actually display an error. The screen that appears in the Word document looks somewhat like our login screen, but without the login text.
    2. This problem only started happening after we redid a section of our website. The new section contains the same documents, but it was rebuilt on the top level of our navigation rather than where it was before.
    3. The user only has this problem with the new section of the website--not the previous implementation of that section and not with the rest of the portal website. It only seems to be the new section we developed.
    It doesn't seem like she needs to upgrade Word, as Powerpoint was upgraded in the referenced URL above, because it's working elsewhere in the portal. Are there any issues related to us developing the new section of the website that would cause this? Thank you for any assistance.

    If Adobe documents are automatically saved instead of opened, check the Applications panel in Firefox ("Tools -> Options -> Applications") and change the action for PDF documents to either "Use Adobe Reader" if you want to use the application or "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox" if you want the PDF file to open inside a Firefox browser window via the Adobe Acrobat plugin. If you want to be asked what to do with PDF files each time, select "Always Ask" for the action. See* [[Managing file types]] and [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]].

  • Document upload in portal

    Hi,
    We need to upload 2 documents in enterprise portal.
    The record in the document should be visible to only the specific users.
    eg: 5 documents for 5 different users .
    We need to display the documents thru an iview.
    Please suggest ASAP.

    U can use KM Upload iview for this, just check this link....

    upload the documents using this iview to the target folder and specify the path of ur target folder in the property by name  target folder present in the iview properties of KM upload iview and give permissions for the folder to only the users who should  access them.

  • Page numbers in thumbnails & document display/status bar do not match

    I am using Acrobat Standard 6.0...documents that I have assembled using separate PDFs that I have scanned or printed to PDF. I am frequently deleting/inserting/replacing pages in the documents. I find that when I select a certain page in the page thumbnails (let's say, 60), and then go back to the document display, I am consistently sent to a different page. Usually it is about 4 pages back (i.e. page 56 in this example), but sometimes I am sent back to the first page. This didn't use to happen & I'm not sure why it started but it has been going on for months. It happens in all of the PDF files that I am using of this type. I just recently started using bookmarks and I seem to be having similar issues, in that some bookmarks that were linked to a certain place on a certain page are now taking me to a location 4 pages previous to the original target. I read the help and tried using Number Pages in the Options on the page thumbnails tab, but this didn't seem to do anything. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Thanks.

    She is the only one affected and you don't have the problem with the same document, I doubt if her Office is updated? In earlier versions of Office there was this issue and we could easily solve it by keeping Office updated.

    Repairing Office from Control Panel is also suggested.
    We can also have the user start Word in Safe Mode to determine if this issue is 3rd-party add-ins related:
    Press Win + R and type “winword.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    If there is no trouble printing the document, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

  • Customizing FBL1N - FB02 // Can not modify field PAYEE in document display

    Hi,
    When opening line items in FBL1N for a particular Vendor and selecting, open items.
    In the document display I have a field called 'PAYEE' (BSEG-EMPFB)
    This field in the first document is enabled. Although on the second document this field is disabled and I can't enter any data.
    Does anyone knows the customizing that will make the field 'ENABLE' ? Or why it is disabled ?
    The two documents aren't for the same company code and do not have the same type (BLART).

  • Document display do not function to all send requests in SOST

    Hi There,
    We have this somewhat weird issue about the queues/send requests in SOST for one of our client. When we try click document display, a pop-screen comes out saying that the Folder does not exist!
    Do you know to which table are the send requests stored? Why are we getting this issue? I suspect that the actual document may may have been deleted but how and why?

    Thanks for the reply. Actually it is not an old document. Everytime we try to send from SAP and we want to display it we get the error. I have raised this to SAP and finally this got resolved as per SAP note 834221.
    From SAP:
    Please be informed that this issue may caused by inconsistencies in
    SAPoffice profile, and which could be repaired by report RSSOPRRP. Have
    this resolved the issue? Please also refer to following note:

  • Document Display Options from portlet

    How do I gain access to the user setting for the "Document Display Options" from a portlet? I want my portlet to honor this setting when creating links for the user to click on such that they open in a new window or in the main browser window as specified by this setting.
    This option is set on the Display Options page of the My Account editor.

    The transaction is KSB5 (for actual costs). You can select the documents by business transactions (assignment groups to number ranges).

  • Problem with document display and gl account update

    Hi, I am facing a strange issue.
    When I post a document using FB50 or FB60, document is being posted and document number
    is generated successfully. However, when I go to document display I get a error messge
    this document does not exist in company code for the fiscal year 2009.
    When I check the GL Accounts, the GL accounts are also not being updated.
    This started happening since last 2 days prior to that it was working fine. This system
    is a test system and it has access to many people. I am guessing some setting might
    have been changed.
    I would appreciate if anyone can give suggestions where to look for to resolve this issue.

  • How to display the Portal System ID in a theme or iView?

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to figure out a standard way to display the Portal system ID within the portal theme or within an iView.   The complaint from users is that, if they are working in both Production and multiple test systems simultaneously, it is very difficult to decipher which system they are actually in.
    Does anyone have experience with this previously?

    Hello Charles.
    A standard way is a modification of the Portal name which is displayed in a title bar of a browser's window.  For this you have to edit the Central Configuration:
    1. Open System Administration > System Configuration > Service Configuration;
    2. In Browse Tab open  Portal Runtime > Central Configuration;
    3. Locate and modify portal.html.head.title property.
    4. Save changes.
    5. Restart portal server.

    We are using SRM 4.0 with extended classic scenario & currently on support pack 7.
    Follow On document display in SC doesn't show PO no.
    This Problem seems to be happening only for "Request external staff  SC" & "Order SC" functionality ( BBPSC03)  while ordering services. Link between SC & follow on document (PO) goes missing even though PO is properly created in SRM system ( being a Extended classic scenario) & also  PO copy is available in R/3.
    Service SC looks okay if we order it through "internal goods/Service", Describe requirement or through catalogue application.
    any help is appreciated & rewarded with full points.

    The signer's identity is unknown because it has not been included in the list of trusted identities and none or its parent certificates are trusted identities" indicates your recipients needs to add something to their copy of Acrobat/Reader. What the recipient of the document is missing is a certificate and only you can provide him with a copy of the certificate you created to sign the PDF. After you send him or make available a copy of the certificate, then he will need to import that certificate into his copy of Acrobat

    If you want your PDF signature to be valid on your / co-worker's computer, you need to supply them with your Public certificate. To do this you need to export it out as an .fdf file, if in Acrobat X, choose Edit – Protection – Security Settings, select your ID that you used to sign the PDF with and choose Export, you can then either save it to disk, or directly email your certificate, get your co-worker to double click it in Adobe Reader and follow the prompt, when you see Set Contact Trust, select it and check Use Certificate as Trusted Root. Then click OK. Now open the PDF and it should now be valid.
