Km document iview as a related link in a page

I have created a KM document iview which points to a pdf, assigned the iview to a page, it works fine. But if i try to assign it as a related link to another page, go to the page and click on the link in related links area the document does not come up, and says page cannot be found. Right now i have set the launch in new window property to open in new window. Weird thing is if i set this property to open in portal content area and click on the related link it opens the pdf. Problem occurs only when i set the property to open in new window.
Any ideas Gentlemen?
Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Firasath Riyaz.

Ville,
Thanks a ton for taking your time to post a reply.
Yeah, I am able to preview from the pcd navigation structure and it works. The issue is only when I try to open it as a realted link.
I was experimenting a little bit, and found that if I add the iview to a page and add that page as the related link, it works.

  • Identical Related Link for all pages

We're trying to put a set of identical Related Link pages for all pages.
    I tried the following.
    Modify the DefaultFramework Page.
    Drill into Desktop Innerpage
    It consists of :
    Detailed Navigation
    Dynamic Navigation
    Drag&Relate
    Related links
    Portal Favorites
    Content Area
Made of a Copy of the Content Area iview, and added 2 Relate Links into this iview (save it as Content_Area_2)
Removed the Original Content Area under Desktop Innerpage and added Content_Area_2)
What I essentially did was assigned related links to the content area of the Desktop Innerpage. That should bring up the Related Links for all iViews.
Is that how it can be done ?
    Does not seem to work.
Is there another way of doing it.

You want to find all pages that have a particular image on
    it?
From the Edit menu select Find and Replace.
In the Find In drop down select Entire Current Local Site
In the Search drop down select Source Code
Then in the Find field type in the filename
    Now click Find All
The search results will show you all pages, you can double
    click on each
file and the page will open with the filename highlighted in
    the code.

  • How do I add a Related Link to a page?

I tried asking this on the Spry forum, but the only answer I got was from someone who never used Dreamweaver, so I'll try here...
I have 5 main pages on my  site.   When I bring up four of them in Dreamweaver, all the related  files show up in the Related Files Bar, and the SpryMenuBar.js is one of them.
But in the fith main page, there is no SpryMenuBar.js showing up in the Related Files Bar.   As a result the submenu additions I just made to my Spry Horizonatal  Menu is not working properly. (At least this is the assumption I have  made from reading a previous forum topic that had the same problem.  And  my other 4 pages DO have the SpryMenuBar.js as a related  file and the submenu changes worked wonderfully.  Obviously the  SpryMenuBar.js is on my webserver or the other four pages wouldn't work,  right?)
So what I am trying to do is get the SpryMenuBar.js to show up as a related file whenever I open this  particular page. (Page 5)
So the main question is: how do I add a file to  the Related Files Bar? (SpryMenuBar.js)
Do  I open this 5th page (that is missing the SpryMenyBar.js) and then go  to the File menu and hit "open"?  I thought that was for  opening new pages not related to the one you are  working on.
As a newbee I need step by step  directions....
Have I made my question clear?  Or just  muddied the water?

In your Home Page you have this:
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Your ABC's page shows this:
    <script src="ABC-Article-Page.html" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
"ABC-Article-Page.html" is NOT a javascript file.  It is an HTML file so it doesn't belong there.
Change it to the following and should work.
    <script src="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

  • How to display related links iview in content area?

    Hi,
I have created Related links, but they are opening in a separate windows even though I have set the attribute of the iviews to "open in portal content area".
Please let me know how I can display the iviews of the Related links in the content area.
    -Ashwini.

    Hello Ashwini,
I don't think you have changed the property at the right place.
Open the iview for which related link is added. Now from the drop down box at the top right select Related Link. The related link editor will open which will show the related link iview. Select the iview and click the EDIT button at the bottom. The related link iview will open. Now Change the "Launch in new WIndow" property.
When you add an iview as reletd link to some other iview, a delta link is created and added to the iview.
    This will solve ur problem.

  • Error Bad Request opening Related Links

Hi everyone, I am having the following error.
I created an I-view which points to an html page that is stored in KM.
I then put this i-view as a related link to a page on a workset.
When I click on the link on the Related Links i-view on DEV system it works ok, the popup with the html page is displayed correctly.
But, When I click on the link on the Related Links i-view on PRD system in the popup it shows a HTTP 400 - Bad Request Error, if I then refresh the page (the popup page) then the html is shown correctly.
I checked the URLs that are open on DEV and PRD and I found out that the behavior is different in the two systems.
For DEV System the URL opened is (This is the one that works correctly):
    http://ecpepdev.red.ecopetrol.com.co:50600/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fco.com.ecopetrol.principal_ecopetrol!2fco.com.ecopetrol.Desktops!2fEcopetrol!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fco.com.ecopetrol.principal_ecopetrol%2Fco.com.ecopetrol.principal_roles%2Fco.com.ecopetrol.ess_ecp%2Fco.com.ecopetrol.wsPa_0%2Fpersinfo%2Fcom.sap.pct.ess.persinfo.pz03_lnk_page_3%2FrelatedItems%2FRelatedLinks%2Fco.com.ecopetrol.Informacion_Bancos
For PRD System the URL opened is (This is the one that doesn't work):
    http://ecpep6prd.red.ecopetrol.com.co:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fco.com.ecopetrol.principal_ecopetrol!2fco.com.ecopetrol.principal_roles!2fco.com.ecopetrol.rolEssEcpAutoservicio!2fco.com.ecopetrol.wsPa_0!2fpersinfo!2fcom.sap.pct.ess.persinfo.pz03_lnk_page_3!2frelatedItems!2fRelatedLinks!2fco.com.ecopetrol.Informacion_Bancos
As you can see on DEV System it opens up as a sort of event called Navigate, while on the PRD System it opens up as a redirection to the content.
Can anyone help me on how to solve this issue?
Or does anyone knows where is the configuration to decide how the related link is opened? (Navigate event or redirection).
    Best regards,

  • How to remove bullets and spacing for url links in the Related Links iview?

I tried to look for a property that I can edit the look-n-feel of the url links in the Related Link iView using "Theme Editor".
All I need is to remove the bullets and increase some vertical spacing between the links.
    Currently, it looks like this:
    URL iView A
    URL Iview B
I go through the whole section of Related Links properties, none of them seems to do what I want.
Here are the list of properties in Related Link section (of Navigation Panel):
    Link Color
    Text Decoration of Link
    Hover Color
    Text Decoration of Hovered Link
Initially, I thought "Text Decoration of Link" should be the right property I should look at. But there are a drop-down with 5 options: None, Underline, Blinking, Overline and Line-Through, which really can't achieve what I want.
    Thanks for advice.

    Hi, Kai.
I checked the Related iView properties (URL Template), I don't see what layoutset it is really using. I am not sure, is that a layout set apply to the Related Link Iview?
For the regular KM iView, I will see what Layout Set I want to apply, then I can go and change the properties (of layout coontroller, collection renderer & resource renderer)you mentioned. But for this Related Link iView, I really don't know. I guess it may be in the code itself.
If there is a layout set for Related Link iView (or the place to apply layout set to it), can you point to me which one is that? (I did a search through the layout set names, I only find the AppQuicklinkExplorer (I used this for Dynamic Nav. Link iView before), if I can aply this layout set to Related Link iView, my problem will be solved.)
    Thanks for help.

  • Templates and document relative linking.

Im trial using DW cs5 and find that if i make a template and then
use that template to make pages it doesnt make document relative links.
Instead it makes links relative to my local drive. ie c/documents/foo.
Even if I have the template file with document relative links, when I make the page it turns into local relative and to upload this to a server wont work.
    Am I missing something ?
    I can figure it out.
    CS4 did this fairly easy.
    Cheers

I dont know how to fix this.
My site is set to relative document linking and the template is linked that way but when I make a new page from template it reverts to local linking.
    instead of ../../ images , I get c://documents/ etc.
I dont know whats going on.

  • Preview seems having problem with relative link with PDF documents

    Hello,
I have a PDF file which I've added relative hyperlinks to it (to an html file). I did it with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (for Windows). I have a link which is a custom action: Open a web link. The link is defined as "../presentation/referencesechelon8.html". I need relative link because the entire web site can be deployed on a DVD instead of on a Web server.
On Windows with Firefox or IE everything is working flawlessly. On the Mac side, it's working with Safari since it's using Adobe Reader to read the PDF. However, with other browsers using Mac built-in PDF viewer, Preview 3, it is not working at all. In the pdf document Preview 3 is unable to reconstruct the original url from the relative link. Instead it points to http://../presentation/referencesechelon8.html which is not correct.
Does anyone have an idea? I've googled a lot and did not find anything. My next try will be to use a Javascript to reconstruct the url.
    Thank you in advance!

  • Translation of standard SAP iviews such as the related links iviews

    Hi,
does anyone know how to translate he default iviews such as the related links, dynamic navigation, drag 'n relate targets? These iviews do not exist in the PCD.  They are available only in the Inner Page on the Default Framework Page as a copy of the com.sap.portal.navigation.targets (Drag 'n Relate) iview.
But I cannot translate the text "Related Links" using the Content Translation or via the PCD. Where are these translations stored and how do I change them?

  • How to display a KM document iView as ESS link

    Hi Experts,
In my project we have already implemented ESS. As per a new requirement, I have stored a page in KM. I have created KM Document iView. In the project we are already having standard link for ESS --> Personal Information --> Personal Data. Right now this is pointing to a standard iView. I would like to call KM document iView when the user clicks on ESS --> Personal Information --> Personal Data. How we can do so? I tried changing the spro setting in following way
    1) I have created iView. The PCD location is as below:
    pcd:portal_content/com.aa.all.folder.sabic/com.aa.ep.folder.enterprise_portal/com.aa.portal.folder.iviews/com.aa.portal.folder.singapore_ess/com.sabic.portal.iview.aa.coming_soon
    2) In the spro, I selected resource. I create a new resource called ZESS_SERV_COMING_SOON_SG
    3) I set URL of Resource Object as
    ROLES://portal_content/com.aa.all.folder.sabic/com.aa.ep.folder.enterprise_portal/com.aa.portal.folder.iviews/com.aa.portal.folder.singapore_ess/com.sabic.portal.iview.aa.coming_soon
    4) In the spro, I selected the node 'Define Services' for standard link ESS --> Personal Information --> Personal Data. Here I changed the service type to 'Call a Portal Page (PCD)'. I also changed Linked Resource to ZESS_SERV_COMING_SOON_SG.
    5) I logged off and again logged into Portal. However, I can not see the link altogether for ESS --> Personal Information --> Personal Data.
    6) Please let me know what is wrong with my method.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

    Hi All,
Thanks for the help. The issue got resolved. I am writing the solution here for the benefit of SDN users
    1) Create iView
    2) Create Page
    3) Attach page in the Role
    4) Go to newly created resource. URL of PCD page should be filled up with the value. ROLE://.... path of page in the role.

    Hi Detlev / All,
I am trying to do something similar: I have a Document iView that points to a HTML file. In this HTML, i need to provide a link that will trigger a navigation event. So i did as usual: created the html and put the code:
    <a href="#" onClick="return EPCM.doNavigate('NavTarget'); void(0);">Link</a>
However, when i run the iview it gives me a JavaScript Error, saying EPCM is undefined. Why can't I call EPCM from the KM Document iView?
I have tried to put it directly on the HREF portion of the link, like this:
    <a href="<my URL>/irj/portal/index.htm?NavigationTarget=NavTarget">Link</a>
And it works, except for one detail: if i point the link to _blank, it opens a new window. If i point to _self or nothing, it opens a new portal inside the iView. But i need another behaviour: I need to swap the source page with the target page and adjust the TLN, just as doNavigate() does. Is there any "easy" way of doing it?
    Thanks in Advance!
    Thiago

  • Issues accessing KM Document iviews after Enhancement Pack application

    Hi,
There are few KM links which are having corresponding KM documents iviews. these iviews are embedded in a role. When i preview the links directly, or the iviews, i am able to see the page. But when i try to access the same through role, i am getting HTTP 400 (Bad Request) error.
This issue was not happening before Enhancement pack was applied. NW7.0EhP1.
Another issue that has been figured out is i am not able to create new iviews because for iview templates, i get the error message stating that "No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates".
I have super admin access on the portal, so even that is not an issue i suppose so.
Any pointers to why htis issue is happening or if any SAP note needs to be applied, it would be of great help.
    Thanks & regards,

    Hi,
Since you've just had an upgrade, db inconsistency could be the cause.
Refer SAP Note 886596 - iViews are not displayed because of corrupt attribute values and the relates notes mentioned in this note.

  • Issues with using relative links in Captivate 8

Is anyone else having issues with using relative links in Captivate 8?  These links all used to work in the previous version of Captivate. And I could have sworn this was fixed already once in Captivate 8 but it's popping up again for us. Here is the situation... We have courses that are made up of multiple lessons which as separate Captivate files. Within those lessons are buttons to link to external documents (which live in a shared document folder), demonstrations, etc.  We use relative links because we post these to our amazon servers and we also sell them to clients where they can post them on their own web servers or in their LMS.  SO we can't put in full paths for the links or we'd have to change them constantly.  So an example is that the link for a button might be "../Document/nameofdoc.pdf"  This would be going to a user guide or something that is posted in the "Document" folder that lives at the same level as the lesson's folder. But now, all of the sudden, none of our bazillion links is working. And I've tried buttons, hyperlinks, and even the old click box. Nothing works with relative links. And I did check the permissions on every file and folder on our Amazon server to verify nothing changed there as well.   Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with relative links using Captivate 8.  I am trying to load Captivate modules into an LMS using relative links to document files within the LMS.  The links work fine during a site page test so not an issue in the LMS, but from the Captivate module they aren't working....

  • How to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both?

See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
    1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
    2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
    /images/image.jpg  to document-relative?
    That is, to
    ../images/image.jpg or
    ../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link?  I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.
Summary of buggy behavior: (see test with images here)
    "old style" site root link
          /images/img_book/WScover120x150_NEW.jpg
Design veiw in DW: broken (grey w/ broken icon)
Link check in DW: "external link" (i.e., uncheckable, + file could appear orphaned)

          Design veiw in DW: good

    Similar discussion on "/"

    Hello again Jon!
    Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url,  which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!
    Art
PS--don't  have a local testing server...don't think this will solve the GUI broken link/ link shows as external problems.
Is there an easy, automated way to change links sitewide from document to root relative?
