KM set up - Is portal required

Good Day,
We are looking to set up TREX and KM for E-Sourcing.  Do we need to install portal top use the KM functionality? If so, is there a minimal install to utilize the KM functionality?
Thanks,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,
You required EP Portal to use TREX and KM for E-Sourcing.

  • Authentication Ticket Type setting in BI Portal

    In the BI Portal's System definition for the backend BI ABAP system, is there any harm in using the SAP Logon Ticket as the "Authentication Ticket Type" instead of SAP Assertion ticket?
    I have a federated portal configuration where the BI Portal is a producer.  I configured the consumer portal's UME to use LDAP as the user store and the ABAP user mappings are defined in the consumer portal only.  The BI producer portal is also setup to use the LDAP as the user store and is also configured to use SPNEGO -- the reason for this is so that the user doesn't have to login when he's accessing the BI reports through bookmarks in the browser favorites.  The BI Portal doesn't have any user mapping to the backend ABAP system.  It relies on the consumer portal's MYSAPSSO2 ticket's user mapping.  In this configuration, I can run BI Bex reports iviews from the consumer portal through federated portal delta links to the BI producer portal.  This only works however if on the BI Portal I set the "Authentication Ticket Type" setting to SAP Logon Ticket.  The Bex reports stop working if I set the "Authenticaion Ticket Type" to SAP Assertion ticket.   The SAP Assertion ticket does work however if I setup user mapping on the BI producer portal -- I really want to avoid setting up user mapping in both the consumer and producer portals.
    Thanks in advance.

    Mel, I am not 100% sure, but I think the federated portal requires both consumer and producer to use the same data source.
    Whoops! Misread your message. As to your question, I do not know why you could not use logon tickets.

  • HCM F&P - How to set the field as Required based on drop down values

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to set the Date field as mandatory when a particular value is selected in drop down list. I have already tried with MessageBox though it displays the error message but process moves further i.e. on clicking Check & Send button it throws an error message but still it moves further and i can see only Send button. Ideally it should halt there itself.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jitesh Talreja

    Thanks for your valuable inputs
    Chintan
    I have already tried this. It only highlight the field with the red border but still allow to move further.
    Mukesh
    Yes, we can definately control this from the backend but that would be the last option i should execute. Ideally, this is something to be controlled in front end itself
    Poornima
    By setting the field attrbiute Required will set the field mandatory as a whole irrespective of drop down values or any other UI element.

  • Managing a set of documents that require approval, for each project stage

    Good day to all,
    I am new to SharePoint but I have dived in head first due to my job.
    The users I am dealing with need a solution where they can upload a specific set of named document types (example: project charter, site plan, schedule, costing approval, designs) but all documents will be scanned to PDF before being uploaded. Every stage
    will have its own set of documents with the same named document types. Each document has to be checked and the approved.
    I know I can use a workflow for the check and approve part.
    What I don't know is how to create a "blank" document set for uploading PDF files. In other words, I envisioned that I would have a document set of sorts where I can enter common information such as the Project Number, and the Project stage, and
    then I would have multiple upload fields that are named by the types above (project charter, site plan, etc.) so that the users will know exactly what documents are needed to complete the document set.
    Can anyone assist me in find a solution?
    Thanks and best regards.

    Hello,
    One thing to note is that the document set content type in SharePoint is analogous to a folder; you don't specify upload fields on the document set, but users can upload any number of documents to the set once it is created. You can have fields of information
    on the document set, and different fields of information on the documents within the set.
    With that in mind, the best way to accomplish what you're looking for may be to have columns on the document set that indicate which required documents have been uploaded.
    Document Set content type columns:
    Project Number (text)
    Project Stage (choice)
    Project Charter Complete (yes/no)
    Site Plan Complete (yes/no)
    Schedule Complete (yes/no)
    Costing Approval Complete (yes/no)
    Designs Complete(yes/no)
    Document content type columns:
    Document type (choice)
    It can either be a manual step so that when a user uploads a document, they then mark the corresponding yes/no checkbox, or it could be automated with a workflow.

  • Questions on setting up a portal using oracle

    hi,
    i want to use oracle to set up a portal which is open to public and each user can register to setup their own account (with their own userid & password) and store their profile. At the same time, my application will periodically perform some tasks based on the values in some columns in the user's profile. Which is the best way to do this?
    1. Oracle8i db + Webdb?
    If i use this method, how do i implement the login method for the users? Will userid & password be just one of the fields in the user table? OR should each user be created and given an oracle user account?
    how to get userid & password fr. login form for verification so that i can show them their own profiles? any info on where can i find how to implement this will be much appreciated.
    2. Oracle8i db + Application Server
    I know this is a better approach (3-tier architecture). Where can i find info on how to implement the user login form and show them their own profile?
    thanks in advance. any help is appreciated.

    Marcus,
    I can't answer your specific question but I suggest you browse some of the OAS and WebDB documentation. Click the documentation link on the left of this page. You could also take a look at some of the technical white papers available at www.oracle.com.

  • Note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator

    Hi;
    we have found an oss note for setting the batch management requirement
    indicator.. but the program mentioned in oss note does't exist in the
    attachement part.. we urgently need your help..
    how can we find program RVBCONVMAT2BM?
    Note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator
    Solution
    Here, the standard procedure is to clear stocks of the current and the previous period as well as to complete the open documents. Note 30656 provides further information about this.
    Alternatively, in the case of a large data or document volume, you can use a conversion report from the batch development that sets the batch management requirement indicator without the necessity of manual preliminary works such as the posting of the stocks or the completion of open documents.
    We have developed the main features of this report, but it must be adjusted to individual business processes in a customer project that is subject to charges.
    If you require further information about functions of this tool or about running such a customer project, you can send an e-mail to the consulting department ([email protected]).

    Hi,
    You also need to check for open sales order, open production orders, open WM transfer orders and open deliveries. These documents needs to be closed/completed.
    Check OSS notes 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator.
    Following is the details of this notes;
    Summary
    Symptom
    The attempt to set the batch management requirement indicator for a
    material in the material master record maintenance fails because there are
    stocks or documents that are not completed such as production orders, sales
    orders, deliveries or WM transfer orders.

  • Does Webcenter Portal Require Its Own Weblogic Domain

    Hello folks, I am trying to install webcenter portal in a HA configuration but I have noticed that whenver I try to run config.sh to extend the HA domain the program errors out with a message about invalid template "CFGFWK-64056 - There is a problem with the template!".
    Now whenever I run config.sh and select the option to create new domain the program runs to completion sucesfully.
    So my question is if webcenter portal requires its own domain and administration server or if I can install it on a domain that is used for other applications also.
    I appreciate your help and thank you in advance.
    Andre

    it does not require own domain, you can extend with your existing domain also,
    try to extend the domain from start>webcenter configuration wizard,

  • Setting form fields to required not working in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

    This should be a simple matter. However, I'm stuck in a rut with it, and cannot seem to get out.
    I have created a form. All I need is for users to be prompted that they have to complete the form field when they try to tab or click out of that particular field where there needs to be information input. I have tried the following "on blur" java script code:
    if (!event.value) {
        app.alert("This field is required. Please enter a value.");
        event.target.setFocus();
    What continues to happen is when the user clicks out of that field, the error message comes up asking them to click "okay." The problem is that the error message does not go away after the user clicks it.
    What I've learned is that if you right click on a field and click "set as required field," it doesn't work in the way I need it to. In fact, it hasn't been working at all for me.
    Does anyone have a simple suggestion? I more than willing to try anything at this point.

    OK, so the custom calculate script for field B could be something like:
    (function () {
        // Get field values as strings
        var sA = getField("A").valueAsString;
        var sC = getField("C").valueAsString;
        var sD = getField("D").valueAsString;
        // Only perform the calculation if all fields are filled
        if (sA && sC && sD) {
            var sum = +sC + sD;
            event.value = sum;
            // Alert the user if the sum is more than A
            if (sum > +sA) {
                app.alert("Error message goes here");
        } else {
            // Blank this field if all fields are not filled in
            event.value = "";
    Instead of (or in addition to) an app.alert popup, you could place this message in a read-only form field, and clear it if there is no error condition.

  • Setting field (system condition) required at work order operation level

    Hi everyone,
    I wanted to make 'required' system condition field at operation level, however neither it's available in OIOPL nor in OIOPD..
    I'd appreciate if anyone could suggest something
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sergey,
    The System Condition field enables you to reserve capacity in Production Planning Work Center so that during any maintenance, Production Planning work center should not be undergoing any production.
    But the system condition that is taken into account for the above scenario is the System Condition field at the header level which indicates whether the maintenance requires the equipment to be shut down or in operation so apart from the header System Condition field, the operation system condition fields do not create any capacity requirement at PP Work Center.
    The Operation Sys Condition field is just for reporting purposes and does not hold any significance in PP-PM integration so for that fact there is no provision for setting this field mandatory at Operation level rather it can be set mandatory at Order header level.

  • Setting in ERP system required: replicate Inbound/Outbound delivery to EWM

    Hi Experts.
    I have done all primary Configuration Settings for the ERP System and EWM system (using SPM setting, bcez its is ecc 6.0 sr2 ench pack 2 or 3)
    Suppose, plant is 0001, storage location 0001 is mapped to warehouse number EW1 in ERP
    Warehouse numbers are mapped ERP (EW1) and EWM system (EWM1)
    ERP system.   For Inbound delivery processing in VL60
    1)My question how to configure new Vendor with receiving point should be< EWM1> and warehouse number should be <EW1>  ( to replicated inbound delivery in EWM SYSTEM )
    For outbound setting for VL01N.
    2) How to configure
    Shipping to <EWM1>
    Delivery type & Sales area ( sales org, Distribution channel , division ) .let me know any configuration required  for delivery type & sale area. ( to replicated outbound delivery in EWM SYSTEM).
    Waiting for your reply .

    ERP system. For Inbound delivery processing in VL60
    1)My question how to configure new Vendor with receiving point should be< EWM1> and warehouse number should be <EW1> ( to replicated inbound delivery in EWM SYSTEM )
    There is no relation between a vendor and the receiving point. Actually, you may not require a 'receiving point' to be able to transmit the ECC inbound delvy to EWM. The setting that will drive is the assignment of ECC 'dummy' Warehouse to Plant/storage location and the assignment of this ECC 'dummy' warehouse to EWM Warehouse, in ECC. Similar setting is to be made in EWM where the assignment of business system is made with ECC dummy warehouse and EWM warehouse, in EWM.
    In addition to this, you'll need to have the mapping of ERP document type to EWM document type along with the mapping ot ERP item category to EWM item type.
    The above note is the same for this as well.

    A suggestion, with the help of OBIEE together with workspace this requirement can be achieved.
    Below links will be helpful for the same:-
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hs_new_features/hs_new_features.html
    Mentions use of Oracle BI Delivers for business activity monitoring and alerting.
