Kmail status on kde[mod]4?

Hi fellow kde arch users. I've been avoiding upgrading to kde 4 primarily because of kmail's issues handling disconnected IMAP (random crashes, losing mail due to crashes or other wicked randomness). There are many unsolved, open bug reports in kde mailing lists about this. I've noticed both in chakra and kde lists that there is "only one developer" handling kmail patches and fixes on his "spare time" as noted in a couple of threads @ chakra and the kde lists, so I'm still hesitant to upgrade.
So now that kde 4.3 is here, and 4.4 soon to come, how is the status? What have your experiences been? Is anyone using kmail exclusively with dIMAP or have multiple dIMAP accounts (preferably large ones with 100s or 1000s of messages)? how is the stability?
I love how kde 4 is coming along, but I am afraid I may have to wait until 4.4 or even 4.5 before making the move, as kmail in 3.5 is nearly flawless (for what it does).

Message status is scheduled mode in SXMB_MONI

Hi Experts,
In My scenario i am Using FILE sender adapter, here i am sending multiple files at a time. if any file with errors that is failing SXMB_MONI.
Here my question is in my scenario if first message failed in SXMB_MONI remaining all messages status is in scheduled only. How over come this.
What is the solution for this can i do any changes in Communication channel, what is that changes please let me know.

Eg: I am getting error for one messge inthis time remaing interfaces messages scheduled in queue until deletion of the
error message from queue. after deletion of this error message from queue then remaining messages are processing.
This is a normal behaviour...since the Queue used by the messages is the same....one error message will block the queue and the rest wil go into the Scheduled status.....check if this blog helps you in running a background job which cancels/ resends the error message..

Why no indication of flag status in 'edit' mode?

In 'edit' mode, I can flag photos, either via the menu or command-period. How come I can't tell if a current photo is flagged? No indicator anywhere, except to watch the 'flagged <n>' indicator in 'recent' and hit the key combo a few times to see if the number changes...
It seems when I do other things such as rate (command-4 for example) in edit mode, I get that nice overlay with the result of my action. Why not for flagging? Seems totally obvious that this should occur for that as well.

I can get a flag, not on the Picture, but on the thumbnail on the strip across the top. Makes sense to me to do to that way because if the areas I was editing was under the flag icon?
This works for me in both full screen and main window editing.

Kde(mod?) 4.3: animated taskbar and program grouping

Hi,
i have done clean installs of KDE and KDEmod today and finally settled on [extra]. However on one of my installs i noticed that the taskbar had animated icons when starting programs and such (bouncing kopete, opera and such). The final install i have now does not have this, is this a feature somewhere i have not enabled yet or is it something I only had in kdemod? I have compositing enabled but cannot find where i put that anymore.
I also had a grouping of multiple programs (konsole) that "folded" out when i hovered over the taskbar. I now just see multiple instances <1>, <2>, <3> next to each other and no nifty animated grouping anymore, even when i turn it on in the settings. I am not sure this worked for me on kdemod or kde so i do not know if it is a feature that is unique to either one of these.
any tips?

As far as #2 goes, KDEMod by default uses the Stasks plasmoid-which does what you're talking about. You can get it from AUR.

Copying files from one to other location.. How to check status in run mode on front panel?

Hi guys , can anyone tel me that how can I check the copying status in real time while VI is running.. e.g lets say I am coping files from location A to location B and the data is quite large so if somewhere in between there is an error I can not figure out when the problem occurred. Is this possible that I know while staying on the front panel about the amount of data copied and how much is left etc..because I think it will be easy to track error if there will be any..

Getting Test Socket status in batch mode

Hi!
I´m running multiple UUT´s in the standard batch model.
I need to find a way to get a teststep running in one test socket to know the current status (passed, failed, terminated etc.) for all other test sockets.
Is this possible?
One solution might be to have each test socket to store the context pointer (CAObjHandle seqContextCVI when using LabWindows) to an array at the beginning of each test socket and then access each others test socket context. This way it might be possible if there is a context value or string to look for. Is this a good idea at all or are there better solutions?

this would in fact be better in the TestStand discussion group.
However, there are several options available to you.
The first is to use queues. They're in the synchronisation menu. That way you can make sure you don't write to the same variable from two different threads before a third one has read it.
The second option is to store the seqContext pointer, however, this pointer is only a reference to where you currently are, i.e. if you start flying around launching other threads, then your seqContext might not be correct at that time
The third option is the hardest to implement. In the batch process model, the execution handles that are involved in the launching of Test UUT -- Test Socket Entry Point, are stored in a FileGlobal to the processmodel : FileGlobals->TestSocketExecutions. However, when you're in your sequence file, and you look at Runstate.Root.FileGlobals.TestSocketExecutions, it's empty. This is because that array hasn't been set as shared. So the top level Test UUT's can see it, but since we're launching executions, we cannot see it. So in the processmodel, you have to find the fileglobals, find the TestSocketExecutions, go to it's properties, and then hit the advanced button. Go down that list, and look for the property flag for shared at run-time.
That way, Runstate.Root.FileGlobals.TestSocketExecutions will have an array of execution reference handles.
From this handle, there's a method of the execution object to get a thread. This is where it's difficult, since you might not know which thread you're trying to get hold of. Once you have one of those, you can get the seqeuence context for that thread, and then you can (get using that as a property object), the number, string etc, from the other thread.
The last option is simply to share (as in option 3, but in the client sequence file) a variable, however, you can easily run into the problem you see in option 1 since the resource is like using station globals. There's no marshalling system to make sure things are written to before they're read from.

Kde(mod)- is the bloat worth the functionality?

I am running Xfce right now but I'm on a moderately powerful laptop: 2gigs RAM, 2GHZ dual core processor, 335MB videoRAM, and ~30GB partitioned off to Linux. Xfce, LXDE, *box, etc. seem to be advertising their greatness on slow or old machines, but I don't think I fit in that category. My laptop, Sony VAIO VGN-SZ430N, has all the hardware bells and whistles and I feel like I'm losing a lot of functionality without GNOME or KDE. The latter two are noticeably slower than the light DEs/WMs, but is it worth it for the functionality that is gained (if any)? I am considering switching to KDEmod once 4.2 comes out; I hate 4, 4.1, and don't really like 3.5. I'm sick of GNOME from Ubuntu, so is this a good choice? Am I really gaining anything with the loss of speed and disk space?
I'd really like some guidance or extra information about this if anyone can help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kdemod tries to use as much packages from arch repos as possible.
(which seems to be pretty hard since sometimes, since kde sees way too less love)
But in amarok's case its a kde app so yes it needs kde deps, that kdemod does provide if its installed.
I use kdemod but build amarok2 from arch abs since mysql seems to need to be rebuilt in 64 bit arch.

GTK-chtheme Seg faulting in openbox, runs fine in KDE(mod)

Problem as stated in the title. When I try to run gtk-chtheme in openbox, I get the message:

However, it opens and runs fine in KDE. Any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

KDEMod 4.2.4 - KDE(Mod) 4.3.0?

Currently I'm stuck on KDEMod 4.2.4 due to the split packaging the Arch devs did. Anyway, I've read that the KDEMod developers have recompiled their i686 packages, so I was wondering if I should wait until they place the i686 packages into kdemod-core, uninstall KDEMod 4.2.4 then install KDE 4.3.0, or just use the kdemod-testing repos?

Extra-KDE is working great...there are a few things that I'm not sure if they are "bugs" or "features" though. The upgrade goes smooth-so long as you do it from Pacman-NOT from Shaman. I kept Shaman on my system (until Pacman 3.3.0 broke it) with ExtraKDE4.2, and I did the -Syu to 4.3 through it...the upgrade scripts failed, and I had to pacman -Syu in the terminal to complete the upgrade install of packages.
But.
Moving my system from KDEMod to Extra-KDE about a month ago was not fun...and I ended up reinstalling Arch in the process as after uninstalling KDEMod and installing Extra-KDE, I could not get X to start, it was faster just to wipe Arch and start over. Fortunately I keep 3 or 4 backups of everything. I figured the night of moving over, it would be relatively fast and painless-it wasn't for me. YMMV of course.

Database in Emergency Mode

Hi All.. i have had one database was in suspect mode and i have changed the status to Emergency Mode and i have run the DBCC checkdb and command didn't gave any error.. after this i have tried to change database to Single_user mode, but command running
successfully, but database status is still showing as Emergency mode only.. i have tried for multi_user mode too..
Also, i have tried to run the command to bring online, but command running for long time with Suspended status..
Could anyone help me on this??

In addition to other post, please check the following things.
1. Run sp_who2 to check that if there is blocked process. If blocked process exists, run “KILL <spid>“ to kill it.
2. Make sure that there are no connections to the database from other applications. You can run the below scripts to find connections.
USE master
SELECT * FROM sys.sysprocesses WHERE dbid = DB_ID('DatabaseName')
3. You might need to stop and start SQL Server Service using SQL Server Management Studio, then check if you can set the database online.

How to change the Short text of a GUI Status .

Hi Guys ,
   Can any one guide me on how to change the short text of an already existing GUI Status .
I have already tried doing these :Opened the GUI Status in change mode and changed the short texts of the Application tool bar ,
                           Menu Bar ,
                           Function Keys ,
thinking that this will update in the Short text .. but that didnt happen ...
Below is what I need ...
Requirement :
GUI Status : Status_001 .
Short Text : New GUI Status .
Change the Short Text to " Changed GUI Status ' .

go to SE80
Open the program.. open node GUI Status
Double click on the status you want to change
go to menu GOTO>ATTRIBUTES>STATUS
click on continue or simply enter
Here change the short text and continue or enter
activate it

I call a ALV in a subscreen, in the catalog there are 2 check box in edit mode, so the default status gui is diferent if I call it with no editable fields, I want to set the status in read mode, there's any way?

You have to do this logic yourself. Assuming that you have created your ALV grid instance already then you have to code in the PBO module where you set your GUI status the following lines:
MODULE status_0100 OUTPUT.
IF ( go_grid->is_ready_for_input( ) = 1 ).
" set GUI status for editable mode
ELSE.
" set GUI status for display mode
ENDIF.
ENDMODULE.
Please note that method <b>IS_READY_FOR_INPUT</b> has optional parameter for row number and column number. Thus, it appears that you can specifically ask the grid instance whether a certain column (your checkbox column) is editable or not.

Now i want to create a 'CANCEL-QUERY', but i exactly don't know what code to put in so that it functions like 'CANCEL-QUERY' of DEFAULT&SMARTBAR.
