Kmymoney and online Banking (HBCI)

Hi, I would need help to get kmymoney 0.8.8 working together with HBCI support. I got already aqbanking and its dependencies installed and there is an additional plugin needed by kmymoney called kmm_banking-0.9.3beta which I compiled directly into my system. So I am able to see the online banking entry in kmymoney but the plugin does not work properly, which means I can't connect to the bank.
So if there is anyone who got it working or has an idea how to make hbci support properly available in the current kmymoney, that would be much appreciated. In case I omitted same necessary information you need to now in order to help solve the problem, let me now.

It's not implemented, yet. But it will be, that is just a matter of time..

  • OS X security and online banking

    Hello everyone.
I've been using Macs for nearly a year and have never used anti-virus or spyware software. I currently feel secure in this.
There was an article in The Sunday Times this morning about security of online banking.
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,2770-2426237,00.html
Some British banks have been found to less secure than others regarding phishing and fake websites. All my banking is done online and my bank was one of those listed as potentially being less secure. (The bank now says it's going to fix it.) The newspaper article goes on to say that banks will usually refund fraudulant transactions if you have up-to-date virus and spyware software and a firewall.
I wonder where I would stand with my bank if something dodgy happened to my account and I'm not running anti-virus software. How much longer will I be able to sit back and smuggly say "I've got a Mac" (something I do quite a lot actually!) so I'm safe? Something to think about.
    Rachel

Hi Rachel, I can't address the legal part of your question. Some British banks have been found to less secure than others regarding phishing and fake websites.Phishing and fake websites (mirrors) are more a function of user awareness. Never click on a link in an email if you suspect phishing, rather go to the banks website in your normal manner. You can also contact your bank to find out if they sent an email.
I don't use any AV or Spyware software. That said, theorectically any Mac could be cracked/hacked. If you use common sense the odds against it happening are long.
You can protect yourself by using your firewall and/or a hard wired router, downloading only from "trusted" sites, installing all security updates and being careful about what you give administrative power to.
Don't use Limewire or any other P2P service to download your software, get it from reputable sources. In addition, always keep at least your users backed up, preferably a clone of your entire system on a separate disk. And put your sensitive passwords, bank accounts, credit card numbers in a "secure note" in a new keychain or in an encrypted folder.
    Enjoy your Mac

  • RV82 Dual WAN and online banking. Packets from two IP's

    Hi all
I have a RV082 set up with two different ISP's (load balancing). A while ago the users started to get problems with online banking. It looks like the bank system set up more than one "channel" to/from the end user, and that the bank systems will not accept that packets are coming from 2 different public IP's. I have solved this by binding all HTTPS traffic to WAN1.
Is this a good solution or is there a better way to deal with this? I'm afraid this will "unbalance" my network as many services like Netflix and Youtube is HTTPS.
Are there any other online services that may have problems with a load balancing setup?
If WAN1 goes down. Will WAN2 start to transport HTTPS even though HTTPS is bound to WAN1?
I also have a similar issue with alert mail from the router (goes to wrong ISP every second time), but this seems to be fixed in the last firmware:
"Email account authentication is configurable for email alert."
    Thanks in advance
    Jone

    Hello Jone,
Your solution is correct.  Certain types of secure connection like HTTPS or SSH will not work if you keep switching the source IP, because it breaks the three-way handshake.  To prevent that you setup protocol binding as you have.  You can do the same thing for any other traffic that always needs to go out a certain WAN port.
If the WAN connection you have selected to protocol bind traffic to goes down, it will failover to the other WAN until the connection recovers.
I haven't seen too many online services that have issues with load balancing, it is mostly with secure connections, namely HTTPS.  I did try to get Netflix into HTTPS mode, but I could never get an encrypted connection, but your best bet is to monitor and observe the network to see how it affects you.
I want to say the line you are quoting has to do with configuring authentication to an SMTP server to send e-mail alerts, rather then selecting a WAN port to use, however if you protocol bind SMTP to the WAN you would like it to use that should no longer be an issue.
    Hope that helps,

  • Safari and Online Banking

When is Safari going to join the 21st century?
As IE has fallen off its perch - When will I be able to go on line to my Natwest bank account?
I've aired this subject before but Sofari not a peep out of Safari.
It is astounding that nothing has been done by Safari to rectify this problem which of their making.
    cheers
    Steve Hill

When I contacted The Natwest Bank they told me that they had contacted Safari about the problem. It seems that Safari retains confidential information when the Natwest custumer logs out that IE and others do not retain, and until Safari changes that state then Natwest cannot/will not allow customers to be put at risk - and also themseleves no doubt.
I have been told before that Firefox seems to be fine as is Mozilla (spelling?) but why should I move from Safari - may be I should move - in fact at some point I shall move if Safari cannot/will not solve the problem.
I find it a bit much that IE works but not Safari. I bet if Jobs had his account at Natwest the problem would have been addressed - 26.

  • Safari will no longer support my online banking, Bill Pay???Any solution?

Anyone have problems with Safari and online banking , Bill Pay?

    jodee --
Welcome to Apple Discussions.  We all volunteers here, other Mac users helping each other find solutions.
So, yes, I had problems initially with my bank, and I found that if I refreshed the page (press the command/Apple key along with the letter " r " key), the bnk pages would kick in as usual.  I had to do that for a couple of weeks, but my bank finally caught up with the new Safari several weeks ago.
Try the refresh page, and let us know how you're doing, OK?

  • When loading my online banking it says untrusted connection but when I try to add exception it says the site has a valid certificate and exception is not required, but still wont connect

When trying to connect to online banking this is what I get.
    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect

    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to

Try to rename the file cert8.db to cert8.db.old in the Firefox Profile Folder to remove all intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored by visiting secure websites.<br />
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed file cert8.db.old unless you have user certificates that you may want to export first and import them in the new file.<br />
Otherwise you can restore the certificates by renaming (copying) the file back to cert8.db<br />
Firefox will automatically store new intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send them.<br />
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Online banking site now shows login page as text-only; on different computer it still shows page with images and clickables -- is there a fix?

Previously when I logged in to my INGdirect online bank account, the login window came up showing images and clickable hotspots. Recently, the login window changed to a text-only version. On two different computers running Firefox, the login comes up in the previous version, with images and clickable hotspots. I'm unaware of having done anything to change my settings either in Firefox or on the banking website. Because it seems to be localized on this computer, I've tried downloading latest version of Firefox, but got no change, login still comes up in text-only format.

    Try clearing your browser cache.
Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.

  • I can no longer log into my online banking website and have tried all of the suggested Firefox fixes apart from resetting Firefox, any other suggestions?

When I try to enter my customer number to log into my online banking website, an error message reads:
This form has been re-submitted. Re-enter your customer number and submit only once.
When I called the bank to find out if they could help they said it was a browser issue and suggested I should use IE or Chrome (No thanks!).
I have gone through all of the Firefox suggested troubleshooting fixes including deleting the cookie files. I have not yet tried resetting Firefox as I was hoping for a simpler solution before taking this step.
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

  • I can no longer get my complete bank statements online, and my bank blames the Safari update and tells me to switch to Firefox.  Is there no other solution?

I can no longer get my complete bank statements online, and my bank blames the latest Safari update and tells me to switch to Firefox.  Is there no other solution?

I would feel dreadful If I thought had caused you a problem.   The warnings about Java are fully justified but providing you are communicating with a known source, and as I said, you disable it the moment you have finished, you should be safe.
It might also be worth asking your bank what problem they have and would it be the same if you were using Firefox, for example.
Like you, I am very security minded, in fact I won't even put my bank details on my Mac let alone run my account that way.

  • Cannot get my "log in" button to work for online banking. Stopped working about a week ago. Checked Time Warner Cable and the Bank and they said it's on your end. Can you help?

I have been online banking with TD Bank for years now and have never had a problem getting into the log in. About a week ago when I would click on the log in button, nothing would happen however I can get into every other link on that site. I contacted TD Bank and they said that my account was fine and I was not locked out and there were no security issues. I then called Time Warner and they checked my service and said nothing was wrong with my service and that it sounded like it was from my server since I was going through Firefox, I should call you guys and see if it is the problem.

  • Computer update affecting login to online banking in Firefox and Safari

Updated Macbook Pro, now not able to login to Chase.com. Error="Page isn't redirecting properly. Server redirecting request in a way that will never complete." Cookies are enabled, as is Accept Third Party Cookies. Multiple restarts to computer/Firefox so far. Cleared cookies, history, cache. Thoughts? I also tried to get to my online banking through Safari and had the same problem -- too many redirects.

Just a quirk as Chase updated its system. They gave me a bit of a scare as when I just logged in, I had to go through the process just like I was setting up my online banking again. Had to again choose preferences, paperless statements, etc. I then noticed there was a message in my online Chase secure customer message center that had notified us a month ago that they were updating online banking on August 5/6 and we'd have to login and confirm our preferences again at that point. It should work for everyone now --- just be prepared to "re-set up" your account.

  • Secured online banking and bill payment

There was a tip on another post about how to bypass the automatic re-routing of the Bank of America main web page to the mobile page when accessing it using iPhone. I used that tip (went to the sign on page, not the main page) and successfully logged on to my BOA online banking web site. Everything looked the same as if I was using my pc with the Internet Explorer. I even looked at my PDF bank statement. So far no complain about accessing this BOA online banking site. However, I am not sure about paying bills online using the online bill payment function with my iPhone. I do not know if iPhone can handle it. I don't want things to get mess up. We are talking about real dollar here. Has anyone done it successfully? Again, I am not talking about using the BOA mobile online access, I am talking about the regular web page online banking.
    Thanks for any comments.

From what I've seen the iPhone does support some browser security, I've accessed my own bank's website to check my balance and noticed the 'https:' as well as a lock in the address bar. So, it should be secure.
Now, as far as your payments going through and being recognized, I think that as long as the various browser requests get forwarded properly and if the pages load properly, you should be all right. If you have two bank accounts try doing some small transfer between the two as a test. I myself don't use my bank's online payment feature, and I personally just feel...odd performing transactions over my iPhone, even checking my balance makes me feel a little weird, but it's so convenient with the iPhone browser.

  • My hard drive recently crashed and I had a new one installed and upgraded to Yosemite since then I have not been able to get on my banks website to do online banking.  Any suggestions on how to get back on there?

My hard drive recently crashed and I had to have a new one installed, at the same time I upgraded to Yosemite since then I have not been able to get on my banks website to do any online banking.  I just get a blank page after I log onto the bank.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Using Safari? Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.
Try another browser as a test.

  • After update 6.0.1 I am unable to conduct online banking with wifi on. I can with 3G and wifi off. Same with iPad or my iPhone 4. Any suggestions?

After update 6.0.1 I am unable to conduct online banking with wifi on. I can with 3G and wifi off. Same with iPad or my iPhone 4. Any suggestions?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
