HI,
EP is easy compared to others to learn,
What is a portal?
This is a term used to describe a web site that is intended to be the first place people when using the web. A portal site may offer e-mail and other services to entice people to use that site as their main point of entry to the web. It typically has a catalogue of web sites, a search engine or both.
SAP Portal Key Objects - General
iView - An iView (integrated view) is a logical portal content building block representing a given visual application or part thereof.
Page - A portal page is a container of iViews, and other pages containing iViews, organized in a layout.
Workset -  A Workset lets you bundle iViews and pages in folder hierarchies, like for roles.
Role - Roles are the largest semantic unit within the content objects. They include folder hierarchies consisting of worksets, folders, pages and iViews. Roles are the only semantic unit that can be assigned to a user.
SAP Portal Key Objects – detailed description
The following contain a detailed description of the portal objects:
Content related objects
iView
Page
Workset
Role
Transport package
System
Display related Objects
Theme
Desktop and display rules
Portal Permissions - ACL
these are the basic topics you need to get mastered so that you can move further
portal permissions
Portal permissions define portal user access rights to objects in the Portal Content Directory (PCD).
Essentially, every portal object can be assigned directly to an individual user or collectively to groups of users through user groups and roles. Permissions in the portal are based on access control list (ACL) methodology.
Each portal object has permissions that are set in two categories:
Administrator: Administrator permissions determine which content in the Portal Catalog is available to a portal user in the design time environment, and to what extent the content can be manipulated and used.
End user: End user permissions determine which content is available to a portal user in the run time environment. Unlike permissions in the administrator category, there is only one level of end user permission.
SAP Portal Key Objects – Portal desktops and Display Rules
The portal enables a rule-based selective presentation of portal desktops at runtime.
A portal desktop consists of a framework page comprising the entire set of user interface units required by a user to operate and navigate the portal. For example, the out-of-the-box default portal desktop consists of the header area, the navigation panel, and the content area.
A company may require the use of multiple portal desktops to support a variety of scenarios. For example, you may require alternative portal desktop for:
Internal employees vs. external customers and partners
Users accessing the portal through a dial-up connection (requiring a thin client desktop)
Sub-companies belonging to the same organization (requiring different company branding in the portal header)
SAP Portal Key Objects – system/ system landscape
A system is a description of an external application to which iViews connect during run time.
A system is represented as a set of attributes necessary for establishing a connection to an external application. It is created by setting values to its global properties.
The systems allow iViews to connect to applications and retrieve data from their information stores.
The portal system landscape is a collection of systems, which are sets of properties representing external applications.
Some external applications to which you want to connect must have in the portal system a representative connector, the middleware through which the portal content accesses the application.
SAP Enterprise Portal provides an SAP R/3 connector for accessing SAP R/3 systems, and a Database (JDBC) connector for accessing generic databases.

By defining display rules, you essentially determine which portal desktop is assigned to each and every portal user, through their respective role or group assignments. Note that a user can only display a single portal desktop. Assigning a desktop does not include a portal theme

How do I clean up my new FIOS connection? I just cahnged ISP Fios and they reqquired a router of thier own in front of my AirPort Extreme. Since then I have blinking yellow light on the AirPort and AirPort utility keeps promting for an edit. Suggests canging from NAT to "Bridge mode". Obviuosly U have some internet or this post would not go anywhere, my knowledge base is not enought to feel comfortable with changing the settings. Correctly editing can be tricky, so how do I make necessary changes?

How do I clean up my new FIOS connection?
The FIOS router needs to be in Bridge Mode to prevent the Double NAT error from occurring when two routers are both fighting with each other for control of the network.
Unfortunately, the likely problem from the FIOS side is that FIOS support will either tell you that their router cannot be configured to operate in Bridge Mode, or if it can, they will not tell you how to do it.
But, it could not hurt to check with FIOS to see if anything might have changed recently in this regard, so your first call would be to FIOS support.
If you cannot change the FIOS router to Bridge Mode, the alternate plan would be to change the AirPort Extreme to Bridge Mode. If you are using the Guest Network feature on the AirPort Extreme at this time, that feature will not work correctly when the AirPort is set up in Bridge Mode.

  • Adding Company Knowledge with OpsMgr 2012 Console - "Failed to launch Microsoft Word"

    Hi everyone!
I'm trying to add company knowledge using the OpsMgr 2012 console (32-bit) on Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) using the guidelines provided at the following link...
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212900.aspx
I'm using Office 2010 Pro Plus SP1 (32-bit) with the .NET Programmability feature and the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition Runtime installed, but I get the dreaded "failed to launch Microsoft Word" error...
...any help or guidance would be greatly apprecaited!
    Regards,
    JJ

    Thanks Andres!
I have confirmed that the following instructions does allow you to use Word 2010 32-bit running on Windows 7 64-bit or Windows Server 2008 R2 to edit company
    knowledge...
    1. Go to the directory where the OpsMgr console is installed (example: C:\Program Files\System Center\Operations Manager 2012\Console )
    2. Make a copy of Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe.config
    3. Edit Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe.config using Administrator rights
    4. Search for “</dependentAssembly>” and remove the “<publisherPolicy apply="no" />” line immediately following the “</dependentAssembly>” line
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    JJ
Well, firstly I have to agree with other people's comments along the lines of "It shouldn't be this hard!", but I can happily say that the solution above (by IM5FOOTNOTHIN)
worked for me...once I noticed this crucial footnote: "Do this for
    ALL instances of the
<publisherPolicy apply="no" /> line that immediately follow the </dependentAssembly> line"

  • Update Knowledge base on Production with Dev Server

    Hi Friends,
I have a knowledge base on my dev server and we imported same knowledge base to Prod server.
So here my questions is, we have created some rules in the dev knowledge base so we need to replicate same rules to prod  knowledge base? how to overwrite prod knowledge base with Dev knowledge?
Can anyone guide me how to do that please?
    Thanks,

    Hi Samir,
Stopping the e-mails to be sent out shouldn't be a problem in this system I think. You can still test everything, without the business getting confused. If you want to see if an e-mail is correct you can still check it in transaction SOST without it being sent.
Otherwise inform the business about e-mails sent form different systems and add the system name in the e-mail message so they know from which system the e-mail is comming and if they have to respond.
    Regards,
    Martin

I need advise and help with this problem .
First , I have been with Mac for many years ( 14 to be exact ) I do have some knowledge and understanding of Apple product .
At the present time I'm having lots of problems with the router so I was looking in to some info , and come across one web site regarding : port forwarding , IP addresses .
In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer
Any help is welcome , English is my learned language , you may notice this , so I'm not that quick with the respond

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.
    To remove it, see:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-genieo/
Do not use the Genieo uninstaller!

  • Custom IKM Knowledge Modules are not working with Group By Clause

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue with custom IKM knowledge modules. Those are IKM Sql Incremental Update and IKM Sql Control Append.
    My Scenario is
    1. Created an interface with table on source and temporary datastore with some columns in target.
    2. In the Interface on the target i defined one column as UD1 and other column as UD2  for which group by to be implemented .
    3. Customized  IKM Sql Incremental Update  with " Group by " by making  modification in my IKM Sql Incremental Update
detail step "Insert flow into I$ table"  i.e., i replaced like this whereever i find this <%=odiRef.getGrpBy()%> API
    Group By
    <%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD1")%>,
    <%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD2")%>
    Up to UD5.
. Here in the place of [EXPRESSION] i passed column names for UD1 similarly other column name for [EXPRESSION] of UD2.
4.Made all the proper mappings and also selected the KM's needed for that interface like CKM Sql ,IKM Sql Incremental Update.
    5. Executed the Interface with global context.
Error i am getting in this case is :
Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00979: not a GROUP BY expression
      at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CTTIoer.processError(T4CTTIoer.java:462)

      at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CPreparedStatement.executeForRows(T4CPreparedStatement.java:1115)
Here the columns in the select clause are there in Group By also.
I did the same scenario using IKM Sql to file append .In that case i am able to do it. But not with the above mentioned KM's. Please let me know if any one know it or tried with this, as it is
    high priority for me.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks,
    keerthi

    Hi Keerthi,
If your are transfering data from Oracle to Oracle (I means source is oracle Db and target is also oracle DB) then use below KM's and group by will come automatically based on the key values you selected on interface target datastore
    1) CKM Oracle
    2) LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)
    3) IKM Oracle Incremental Update (MERGE)
Hope this will helps to resolve your issue

    Hi,
It's a good idea, but currently it's not yet supported.
In Work Center, there is no predefined (nor a hidden) link shipped by SAP to access the Solution Database for key users.
With a future EhP for Solution Manager, you might get an integration of the Solution Database into the message processing Web UI.

  • Share the knowledge

I too have gotten a window titled "Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device" with the statement "Windows can't stop your 'Generic volume' because it is in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again
    later."
What I do not understand is this.  The OS does not suspect and is not guessing (one would hope!) that a program or window or file might still be using the device--no, it definitely knows a specific program or window or file is in fact still using the
device; or it is confused--i.e. a badly written OS--and delusionally thinks a program or window or file is still using the device.  Either way: great.  Why doesn't the OS share its knowledge with the user?  Why doesn't it just tell us which
specific program or window or file it thinks is using the device (e.g. offer us another window with a list of those programs or windows or files)?  How is the statement in that window at all helpful?  Who would design an OS that alerts a user about
a specific cause which the OS knows is the source of a specific problem it is having but which does not tell the user what that known and specific cause is?
Similar issues happen all the time in Windows. (This issue may not be relevant in this forum but I bring it up to demonstrate the above is not an isolated situation.)  A similar issue is with long file names.  When deleting a folder Windows will
sometimes alert the user that the folder contains filenames (and/or paths) which are too long, etc. but it does not give the user a list of the specific files which are causing that problem.  But it must know specifically which files they are--otherwise
it would not have been able to generate the alert window.
These and other problems cannot be hardware problems; they are not vendor problems; they are Windows problems.  The programmers simply did not think through the consequences of what they were doing.  They were smart enough to make sure the OS stopped
a device from being prematurely ejected because a program or window was still open but not smart enough to realize that was only half the task and that the user needs to also know what specific program or window is causing the problem too.  A user shouldn't
need third party software to fix an OS's shortcomings.  That too would be a shortcoming.

    Hi,
This issue is not caused by Windows, but 3rd part process.
You can use Microsoft tool Handle to check such issue:
Handle is a utility that displays information about open handles for any process in the system. You can use it to see the programs that have a file open, or to see the object
types and names of all the handles of a program.
    Copy handle.exe to C:\Windows\system32 folder.
    Run cmd.exe as administrator
Type handle -a C: /Test/test in command prompt, then it will list all handles and processes accessing this folder.
It shows that cmd.exe is accessing c:\Test\test. Then, we can use handle –c command to close the handles, along with
the handle ID, and the process ID, and the "-y" switch to confirm the delete.

  • How To Simplify Knowledge Search On My Oracle Support (MOS) For WCI (ALUI)

****** Please feel free to post a reply to this thread if you've found the link provided here useful ******
Where's The WCI Knowledge On My Oracle Support?
Have you been frustrated by how difficult it is to navigate the My Oracle Support "Product Tree" when searching for WebCenter Interaction knowledge articles?
Do you find yourself confused by the number of articles returned from your keyword searches for knowledge that have absolutely nothing to do with WCI Products?
Is there really any knowledge base for WCI products at all?
The answer is yes! In fact it's very healthy and getting healthier every day.
Across the breadth of the the WCI Products (Portal, Collab, Publisher, Analytics...etc.) there are hundreds of current and updated knowledge articles available on MOS.
New knowledge is created from almost every support case where the issue was not otherwise solved by existing knowledge or documentation.
The Support Team is reviewing and publishing an average of 20 new articles a month, each of them solutions culled from actual customer engagements.
We recognize that it can be difficult to navigate the "product tree" to narrow the scope of your search results to ensure it's limited to the knowledge created specifically for the WCI products.
To help make it easier for WCI customers to get to the right knowledge as quickly as possible we've created a valuable link to use anytime you want to search MOS for
WCI product knowledge. The link at the bottom of this posting will limit your search to only the products in the WCI family.
Let Us Know How We're Doing
Did an article help you resolve your issue and avoid having to log a service request?
Was the article perfectly written and exactly what you needed?
Was the article more complicated than it should have been or somehow incomplete?
Make sure you "rate" the article after viewing it and feel free to make comments to improve an article.
Look for the "Rate This Document" icon at the bottom of the view window for the article and click there.
The feedback goes directly to the team that created the article is actively reviewed in an effort to improve on the knowledge already provided
or to help generate new knowledge as needed. The Support Team is striving to ensure that the right information is available at the right time.
    <h2>Click this link: WCI Search
The link should take you right to the WCI KM search section on MOS (after you log in) and all you need do from there is enter your key words and "Search".

    SUPER userful.
I attempted to use the Knowledge Base on oracle support earlier today to find this precise information and gave up in frustration.
    This link definitely helps.

I restored the phone so had no apps on it at all and there was still this certain amount of space used up by documents ! I've already had it in to the apple store and they didn't seem to have a clue either ! Ugh ! Wouldn't mind so much if the phone was free with a contract but I actually spent 450 quid buying this phone and it's always full of "nothing" so virtually unusable

  • Is it possible to check if anyone has applied to monitor my web browsing history/cache/bookmarks as an employer on my home pc without my knowledge or consent?

I am using private windows to browse since someone seems to know what sites I've visited. I've done my best wrt blocking cookies and deleting history on exit, but some data in the "Library" exists.
Apparently my isp provider and employer can see my browsing history of a private browsing window.
I am currently self-employed but I volunteered for an organisation until October 2013. One of their members I worked closely with was stalking my email and browsing history without my knowledge.
Is it possible for this slimy bleep to have weasled their way into monitoring my web activity by claiming to be an employer?
Can I use a private browsing window safely?
I have a business to run, so I need my information, email, web activity to be kept confidential.
Any helpful advice will be gratefully received.

Your question is a bit confusing, and it seems that you don't quite understand who and what can view your internet activity:
    * Private browsing mode simply leaves no record of the sites you visit in your browser. There are so many other parts of the chain that can keep records. Example: Your computer could have tracking software (installed intentionally or maliciously), many routers have web logging, your Internet Service Provider can view the sites you visit, your employer if you are at work, the government has extensive tracking programs as well. Private browsing won't defeat these tracking techniques. It basically only prevents people who have physical access to your computer from looking in your history and seeing the sites you visited in PB mode.
    * Your employer can't just request to see the sites you visit when you are at home. The only reason your employer could see the sites you visit is it you take your computer to work and use your work network to access the internet (and the employer has enabled logging on their network hardware) or you have a work laptop and take it home and it has logging software installed on it. Many employers have policies against using work equipment for personal. But there is no way that your employer can call your home ISP and ask to view your internet history.
    * Your ISP keeps a record of the sites you access, but won't release that without a court order (or to the NSA....) so unless you have a court order or a snoopy ISP employee who has an axe to grind and is viewing your internet logs illegally you don't really have to worry about that.
    * It's possible you have malware on your computer that is tracking your internet history. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]

    Dear experts,
I should like to create a new knowledge base file. I use the Oracle version 9.2 and the OS is Windows 2000. I have created the thesaurus with
ctxload -user ctxsys/ctxsys -thes -thescase y -name DEFAULT -file xx.xx

    ctxkbtc -user ctxsys/ctxsys -name DEFAULT
i get the following error message:
DRG-52110: Error in writing extended knowledge base
    DRG-11101: drelcHU.dat open error
Before the ctxkbtc command execution, I have created an empty directory for the expected .dat file:
    ctx/data/hulx
with full control for every OS users.
What is missing or false in the commands? Where could I learn more on this special topic?
    Many thanks for any help.
