Known networks not recognizing

Below is a post from Mac Rumors, but it discribes my problem perfectly.
BTW: Mac Rumors did not solve the problem on the thread located here:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1408213
Every time I open my MacBook Pro it requires that I select a wi-fi network to join. We have a wi-fi (modem and wireless router) set up in our house and this network is available and we simple select this wi-fi network each and every time. This has become tiresome and under System Preferences, Network, just below Network Name, is a yes/no check box that states that "Known networks will be joined automatically. If no known networks are available, ..."
I'm curious as to how to make our wi-fi connection a "known" network to eliminate the need to select this network each and every time we open up our MacBook Pro.
Thank you

It Is Because Your Ipod Touch's automatically connect to known networks feature is not enabled , To Enable , Go to settings , and go to WiFi and Tick the Automatically connect to known networks .

  • Solaris 10 11/06 X64 on HP DL585 networking not recognized

Im trying to install Solaris 10 on a HP DL585. I found a driver for the P400 disk array controller, so I have that working and can recognize the RAID volumes. However, during install, Solaris normally queries you for networking info. It's not doing that during the install making be believe that it does not recognize the network adapter on the HP DL585 box. I could not find any drivers on the HP/Solaris download site for networking (except one which you can load after the install).
The problem is that I have no idea how to configure networking from scratch. I have always had at least the devices defined, even if not plumbed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the networking devices recognized at install time so I can at least get the devices created?

Odd, I shut down last night after messing with this all evening, rebooted the laptop this morning and ran:
    update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,1092"' iprb
And it took! An "ifconfig -a plumb" then brought in the interface. I haven't plugged it into a switch yet, but barring any unforeseen weirdness, it looks like it will work.

  • Officejet 7000 network not recognized. Lights blink at printer connection and then go out

I plug in the network cable and the lights blink and then go out. The connection to the router is not established

    Ok,
First, unplug both the printer and the router power for 30 seconds and check for any change,
if the same persists, try plugging the ethernet cable from your printer to your PC and check if the same behavior occours.
If so, than it seems like the printer eternet card is damaged, which will require service
If it is connecting with your PC, so the issue may be related with your router,

try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Try restarting your iPad : press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider; then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. If the book download doesn't re-start, then you could try downloading the book to your computer and then syncing/copying it across to your iPad.
You could also go to Settings, General, Reset All Settings.

  • Network controller is not recognized on Satellite A100 under Windows XP

    Hi all!
I have purchased a Satellite A100 PSAAR and I have performed a clean install of Windows XP on it. I have installed all the drivers in the correct order(downloaded them from the support page) but I still have one problem:
In the device manager the ethernet controller and the network controller show up with a yellow exclamation mark and they are not recognized. I downloaded the lan driver and I got it to recognize the ethernet controller. However no matter how hard I tried, I cannot find the suitable driver for the NETWORK CONTROLLER which still shows up in the device manager in yellow color.
I could really use any help here...Thank you in advance.

Please note that Wireless Lan card is placed under the Network adapters too!!!
If you have installed the LAN (Ethernet) driver and the card was installed you should also check if a WLan card driver is needed!!!!
    By the way:
If the LAN card was not recognized try this Intel Lan driver:

  • When I type .ssh root@10.0.02 it says host not recognized I'm unable to get in to known host file can not fix the problem.

When I open terminal and do sash [email protected] it says warning rsa key not recognized to go to known-hosts file which ican not grt into I have download pico but am not sure how to launch it or what I ave to do.

sibeen, please stop starting new posts when you are really just continuing the first post.  "Reply" to one of your existing posts when you are really just continuing the same question.  If I have not lost count, you have posted 3 times about this same ssh rsa host key issue, and Linc Davis and I have been trying to keep track of all the details, but with it spread out across multiple new posts, it is difficult.
I'm guessing as you again forgot to post the actual error (I'm starting to wonder if you are testing how well Linc and I can guess at your problem ).  Anyway, I'm guessing that you managed to delete the $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts file, and now when you try to ssh to 10.0.0.2 it wants to add the remote system's host rsa key into a newly created known_hosts file.
The authenticity of host '[10.0.0.2]:22([10.0.0.2]:22)' can't be established.
    RSA key fingerprint is xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?
Generally the command ask if you want to do this, yes or no.  You type "yes" and your Mac memorizes the remote system's host rsa key.
If this is not the warning message you are seeing, then as Linc has requested, please post the exact error (feel free to mask put the actual key or usernames or IP addresses, but keep the words.
If you are still getting the original error from 3 posts ago, then I would not try editing $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts, and instead just delete the file, and when you get a message like I have posted above, answer it with "yes".
WIth respect to pico, Mac OS X already has pico installed, so there was  no need to download it from anywhere.  However, most people just use 'nano' which has essentially replaced 'pico' as an easy to use Terminal based text editor.  But like I said, I think you will be happier if you just delete the known_hosts file and get on with your ssh operations.
Finally, I think in your 2nd post you indicated you tried deleting a file that had a dash in the name (known-hosts) instead of an underscore (known_hosts).  If that was just a typo when you entered your post, and you were really getting you cannot delete a directory, then something is seriously wrong, or you accidentally allowed a space to be inserted between .ssh and known_hosts.  Personally, I'm going with you actually entered a space and the 'rm' command thought you wanted to delete the .ssh directory instead of $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts.  I could be wrong, but using copy and paste to post actual Terminal screen output as well as the command you entered would be very helpful to anyone trying to provide useful information.  In other words, help us help you.

  • Wi-Finetworks are not saved as Known Networks

    Hello everybody!
I recently updated my iPhone to 1.1.3 software and I have noticed that the networks I have joined before are not saved anymore, which is very annoying because I have to enter the password every time I want to join to any "known" network.
The "Ask to Join Networks" option is turned on on my iPhone, but it appears to be failing or something, I join to my home wireless network every day and I would like to not enter the password every time.
Before updating to the new software (1.1.3) my iPhone joined automatically to the saved networks, but I don't know what is happening now.
I have not changed any setting on my router, that's why I think the problem is in the 1.1.3 new software.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance!

Posted below are possible troubleshooting steps that may assist with this issue
    1. Reboot iPhone - Hold down the home button & lock button together till you see the silver apple logo. Now let go. And iPhone OS will reboot. Now test your WiFi again.
    2. Reset Network Settings - Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings-Confirm. This of course wipes out all knowledge of any WiFi networks you were connected to including password. Please be advised VPN settings may also be reset and need to be set back up. Now test WiFi
    3. If you have bluetooth on. Turn it off. Test WiFi again. If needed go to WiFi settings on iPhone. If your connected to a network tap on the blue circle and up on top tap on Forget network. Go back to WiFi settings and reconnect to that network.
    4. Turn WiFi off then back on and test again
    5. Toggle Airplane mode on for 1 min then off. Settings-Airplane Mode - ON 1 min then OFF. Now retest WiFi
    6. Allow iPhone Batter to completely die out. Then do a full charge on it. Hopefully it dumps any temp memory during the discharge and draining of the electronics inside. Now test WiFi once fully charged
    7. Restore iPhone. -This will erase all data and settings. So please only do this if everything you want back is on the PC/Mac. Make sure once you restore you set it up as new iPhone. If you choose restore from backup there is a small chance it could bring back a corruption that was may of been causing the issue
    8. if you still have an issue. Power cycle your network equipment. Power down the Modem and Router for 5 min. Modem gets powered on first. Wait till all the lights are on. Then power router, Wait now test WiFi. (Please consult your ISP or Router Manufacture for assistance with power cycling your equipment.)
And one question. Does this occur on all WiFi networks? If so what security are you using? WEP? WPA? and What channel is the router broadcasting in?
    Post back if needed

  • Controller DMRW1000 is not recognized with my 5GHz network

I have the following items: Director DMC250, DMP100 and Controller DMRW1000.
I decided to move all of them from the 2.4GHz to the 5GHz network, but the Controller is not recognized by LELA and when I try to set the network manually on the controller it does find the SSID but can not connect to it.
    Anybody with a similar problem?

    Hi,
A friend of mine had the same problem and here's what he did to resolve it.
Reset the controller by pressing and holding the reset hole/button for 20 seconds. Try then to manually connect the controller to the wireless network by using the LCD screen. Don't forget to check for any firmware updates for the controller afterwards.
    I hope this helps.

My macbook pro 10.6.7 is not recognizing my home network automatically and instead sings me on to another network when I open my mac. How can I correct this? it wasn't doing this before.

In system prefs you can go to network, you will see airport listed, go to the advanced setting and make sure remember networks you have joined is checked. You can also remove networks you do not want your Mac to join. You can also check to automatically find networks. As well, you can reconfigure your network by choosing the assist me option.

Apple not recognizing known password.  Iforgot does not send email verification.  Help please.
Don't know any other way to put it.  I typed in the correct password.  Now the account is locked.  Iforgot does not send an email verification.  The email is not in the junk mail or anywhere else.  It is typed correctly.  This is frustrating.  I was just trying to update the Ipad Mini.  I wanted to change the ownership to my husband and noticed that my daughter attached a new Icloud account.  I was just trying to verify her account.  I have the correct password.  Now the account is locked out.

I figured it out.  It's a little confusing.  I was trying to add a new email address for iCloud and I was supposed to type in the main iCloud user ID and password.  The wording is not helpful because it displays the name of the new email address.
