Kodak Gallery Help

Hi. I just upgraded to Ilife 09. After i upload say 100 pics, ill delete 50 by hitting the delete button. Then to add to Kodak Gallery, I drag/drop my iphoto event ( which says it now has 50 pics) and for some reason Kodak says, "uploading 100 photos." Anyway, why all of a sudden does it not just upload the 50 i kept, ye seems to upload everything including the ones ive deleted? thanks for the help

All iPhoto versions had to have its trash bin emptied via the iPHoto->Empty Trash menu option. Otherwise the files just gather in the Trash bin. If you delete a photo from an Album it's only deleted from that album, not the library.

  • Kodak Gallery (ofoto) and iPhoto 6

I am using iPhoto 6 on a relatively new imac with 3gigs RAM. My wife wants only to be able to use her photos in the way she used to on the PC, and we can't get the photo upload to work at Kodak Gallery, which is where she has years of photos already stored. Safari won't allot multiple selection while uploading via the browser, so I downloaded the Ofoto Express tool for the mac, but can't keep it from crashing. When I select 'Most recent Photos' it works as expected, but when I try to select my entire library it eventually crashes, or if I just chose 'last 12 months' it will also dump.
Can this problem be addressed or fixed? Have others had this problem?
I also read on the Kodak site that I should be able to send the photo directly from within iPhoto, but can't find where or how to do that.
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I understand, and that is where I started. i simply received a polite email that was borderline a form response with no usable information. One of those emails that is very frustrating, because the person clearly didn't even comprehend your situation and respond with something basically unrelated.
Then I turned here, since I have had good luck on the mac forums. I was really hoping to identify if others with big iPhoto libraries were having the same issues since this is a popular site (kodak).
Also, my problem is very consistent, which would indicate there is something that could be identified and altered to correct the problem.
    Thanks for your response though.

  • How can I share photos w/ people for free like using snapfish/kodak gallery

    Hello,
I am new to the world of mac and am having trouble with using i photo. I simply just want to share photos with family and friends like I easily did while using services such as snapfish or kodak gallery. Can this be done? I tried iweb and I'm confused. Also, if I can't do this from iphoto and want to continue using snapfish...if I try to upload photos form their website, it gives me two choices when I'm at iphoto...modified and original photos and I can't seem to have the photos I edited and the originals in one spot. Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    1. Don't attempt to access files in the iPhoto Library Folder - it's a good way to damage your library.
    2. Many sites have export plug-ins for iPhoto that will allow you to upload to them directly from within the iPhoto Window - check on the sites you prefer for more information. But, for example, Snapfish has information here:
    http://www1.snapfish.co.uk/helpuploading#quickuploadmac
or you can use an application like PictureSync.
Other than that: There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Ordering Photoshop Element Album Print on Kodak Gallery

I have spent many many hours creating an album using Photoshop Element 7,0 and then wanted to print using Kodak Gallery. Did not work. Here is what happened:
Click on the PSE file on the organizer.
Then click 'Order print' and landed on Kodak Gallery site and logged in, I can see my album there but could not find a way to simply order a print copy of it.  Only choice seems to select 'New album' which then would force me to redo all the work, reselecting templates etc...
    What am I missing ?

A bit more details should help here.  Essentially, I am talking about trying to export a PSE album file from Photoshop Element to the Kodak Gallery website to order a print copy. Here how I did it:
    1. Went from 'organiser' to Create Photobook, imported all my pictures and created the pse file using Photoshop Element 6,0 templates, backgrounds etc.
    2. Saved it in Organiser and on a separate file located on my desktop.
    3. Reopen Organiser, clicked on Share, Order print which directed me to Kodak Gallery site. I could see there my pse file or album.
    4. Tried to find a print album function to just order a print copy but did not find anything like it.Always forced to go through their 'New album' function which essentially meant redoing all the work.
    5. Tried to use the print photo function but then would not import or use pse file, only jpeg.
    Hope this help.

  • Uploading to Kodak Gallery

With iPhoto 08 I seem to be unable to upload my photos to Kodak Gallery. I used to be able to just drag them in. Also, what is the best way to e-mail photos in the library using gmail? I used to be able to just access the iPhoto library and pick the photos (in JPEG) form that I wanted to attach to my mail. Now I am unable to access the library at all. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use a Cocoa based browser such as Safari you can drag pics from the iPhoto Window to the attach window in the Browser, or from a media browser (and you can make on of those in seconds using Automator)
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.

  • Kodak Gallery Plugin and Iphoto 09

I did not find anything when searching... so my apologies if a similar thread exists elsewhere.
I have not been able to upload photos since upgrading from Iphoto 08 to 09. I used to use the Ofoto Express program to upload, but it ceased working after the upgrade.
I noticed today that an Iphoto plugin also exists, called the Kodak Gallery Plugin. I tried using that today, and in both cases, it is not uploading.
I am concerned that it may be a problem on my machine, as I also tried the Firefox Kodak extension, and it wouldn't accept the pictures I was dragging out of Iphoto 09 into it.
I have 10.5.7, Iphoto 09, Intel Mac Mini that is maxed out on RAM. I'm able to otherwise connect normally to the interweb via ethernet in Safari/FF/Itunes Store/etc.....
Any thoughts on how to fix?

    Ofoto Express:

    Kodak Gallery Plugin:

TD, what you said is actually the crux of the problem- I attempted to troubleshoot with Kodak's online help earlier today, but their online chat knew nothing outside of "install. Doesn't work? Uninstall. Repeat". Their final bit of helpful advice was, and I quote, "You need to contact the Iphoto to fix it".
They had no idea when I mentioned that it seemed related to my upgrade from Iphoto 08 to 09......

  • I had to log off in the middle of sharing pics to Kodak gallery, now I can't open Adobe?

I had a problem and logged off my computer and I was in the middle of sharing pictures to Kodak Gallery.  Now when I try to get on to Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 I click organize where I used to get it to open and nothing happens.  I know that they are there because I can see my online storage amount listed.  Can you help me to open it?

  • My Yahoo toolbar is gone requiring me to press the back button thru all of the pages I've viewed to get back to my homepage. AND more importantly I can no longer use Kodak Gallery. How do I return to an older version of Firefox?

The recent version of Firefox apparently does not support/permit me to see/use the Yahoo toolbar. Therefore, I have to manually page back thru all of the yahoo pages I've visited to get back to the main page.
Also the recent version of Firefox apparently is not compatible with Kodak Gallery's functions; therefore use of my many photo albums stored online is no longer available.
Apparently I need to go back to an older version of Firefox or use another browser.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Photo Books - Crop and Color Issues from Kodak Gallery

I've been spending a good amount of time creating photo books and ordering them from Kodak using the built-in online ordering feature.
I've noticed several items that I was curious if others have any experience perspective on.
    1. Cropping. For a flexible full bleed photo book, the page as it is represented in PSE3 is substantially cropped when Kodak processes the book. The difference between the two is almost 1/2 on either side and 1/4 inch on on the top a bottom. (These are approximate numbers) Have others seen this? It would be nice to have a border in the software showing where the page will be cropped since the Kodak service and PSE3 are so tightly integrated.
    2. The colors come seem to come off a bit dark as compared to prints I have ordered and the images are all very slightly pixelated as compared to prints. Nothing awful, but not what you would want for your best photos.
I am hoping to learn if others have seen these issues and learned to live with them or are the other photo book providers that could turn a pdf into a higher quality book?
    Thank you for your assistance.

I haven't used the Kodak Gallery for photo books. I have been tempted a time or two, but so far I have ordered my books through Mypublisher.com. The product is about the same. And I saw one of their books last Christmas and was impressed with it. In reading through the instructions from Mypublisher, they warn that there will be some cropping on full-bleed images and advise to be sure to allow for that. I have not run into the color or brightness difference that you mentioned. There are those who will disagree with me, but I read an article awhile back that indicated that most of the online photo processors as well as many of the one-hour minilabs standardize their equipment to the sRGB color space. So that is what I have used when preparing my books, and I have been very pleased with the results.
As far as your pages are concerned, you might try what I did in my last project. The pictures didn't fit any of the templates provided by the publisher, so I created my own pages in Photoshop. I positioned the pictures where I wanted them and added my own text. Then I just created my book using those pages. It turned out very nicely. I have distributed 75 copies of the album so far and everyone has really liked it.
Mypublisher.com provides software that you download and create your album on your computer. Then when you are ready to order there is a menu item that connects you to the Web site. The only problem is, this is a Windows service only. There is no support for the Mac.

  • Using iPhoto '11 with Kodak Gallery

I can't seem to get iPhoto '11 to export to Kodak Gallery. When I click "Export," nothing at all happens. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've emailed, called, chatted, etc. to Kodak and I get a mess of answers - none of them sound promising. If you can even get a rep who understands that iPhoto has a new version, all they tell you to do is uplaod using one of their other methods. I tried explaining that this solution doesn't work for people who have iPhoto set to leave the raw photo file alone and store the edits in a separate file. They had NO idea what this means. One of their reps actually told me I don't know how to use my computer and I should just learn how to use their uploader on the website then hung up on me. Kodak's support for i-anything has been lame. The last iPhoto plugin was from 2007 and their iphone app is about as old. Both were in dire need of upgrades/updates as it was. So, going forward, I'm using Flickr since they had their upload capability ready the day iPhoto 11 launched.
If anyone gets any updates on this plug in, please post.

  • How to Upload to Kodak Gallery from 2.1.4

I currently export photos to a file and then upload to Kodak Gallery using their browse function. When I could use ofoto express I could drag and drop directly from Aperture. Is there anyway to copy directly to Kodak Gallery without having to export first?
    Thanks
    Rod

I will defer to Sierra Dragon, one of the strongest advocates of Referenced Masters on this forum, but I suspect that your upgrade would only engage about 32 GB of HD space.
I have always used a Managed Library because I like the import-and-forget security.
AP2 arranges each master, thumb, and preview into a single folder. AP3 rearranges things so that all of the masters are in one folder, thumbs another, and previews in another. This has the advantage of making it easier to find your masters, should you ever have to open the Package and look for them.
AP3 is very nice and, with at least 4 GB of RAM, tends to be very speedy. Were I thee, I would force a TM back up and then turn it off while you run the upgrade. Turn it back on only when you are sure that all is well.
If you search this forum for posts around the time that AP3 first came out, you will find that there was a list of cache and pref files that sometimes had to be deleted. I believe that subsequent versions of the AP3 incorporated this into the program as I have not heard of that trick being necessary for years.
In my case, I had a 150 GB Managed Master Library, so I copied it out on an external drive and ran the upgrade there. Once I was sure that it had worked (and it did, first time), I copied it back. As you might imagine, 150 GB over FW800 took some time, but I had three copies of my Library at all times.
A final note, if you are committed to using Referenced Masters (as I now am, having sprung for a SSD) remember that they are write once/read many. That is, they are NEVER rewritten once they are out on disk. I have mine on a dedicated 250 GB and it never fragments. Your Library, on the other hand, reads and writes all the time, keep it on your largest, fastest disk.
    Best wishes.
