Konica Minolta Magicolor

I did not see these on the list: Does anyone know whether the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430DL printer is compatible with Airport Express? Same question for the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2550 DN. Thanks.

the installation went fine but in the Systemproperties I only see the printing function for the device. The second button for scanning isn't there.
You will only get the Scan button if KM supplied an ICA driver. If their driver is TWAIN-based, then you will need to use an application like Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro to scan with. Or KM may have their own scanning application.
If the scanner driver is ICA based, then try opening Image Capture. If the KM is networked, it will appear under the heading of Shared and selecting it will either work or you will get an error about the lack of driver, thus confirming that the scanner driver is not ICA-based.

I am trying to connect my macbook pro to a konica minolta magicolor 1690MF printer/scanner.  I tried to download drive software from the konica website, but I still can't add the printer to my system.

Depends on your model TV.   Read your TV user manual.  The newer models have "how to hookup" instructions for computer & games.

  • Has anyone successfully printed on Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL on Mac OS X 10.9

Has anyone successfully printed on the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9?
Also has anyone successfully printed on the Epson EPL-5700i after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9?

I realize that most people tend to visit the forums to report problems rather than visit the forums to report successes after an upgrade. And I appreciate John Blanchard1's taking the time to reply to my posting.
Dakoda mentions problems printing to a Konica Minolta C280 and the thread that John Blanchard1 posted refers to problems printing to both Konica Minolta BizHubs (C652 & 501).
However, the existence of these problems with other KM printer models does not let me know if anyone has been successful printing to the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9 or even if anyone has had a problem with printing to the 2530DL after upgrading to 10.9.
On October 28, 2013, a Konica Minolta technical support agent told me -- after checking with his supervisor -- that regarding the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL that they will not be upgrading the 2530DL printer driver. In fact they have not upgraded the driver since 10.6. I learned on their support site that the 10.6 driver has continued to work with 10.7 and 10.8. They have not yet updated their support site for compatibility of their line of printers with 10.9.
So I would like to find evidence that this printer has continued to work for someone after the upgrade to 10.9 rather than upgrade and then have to downgrade to still be able to use this printer.

  • Can't install scanner driver for Konica Minolta magicolor 1690mf

I've successfully installed the printer driver for my Konica Minolta 1690MF multi-function printer/scanner/fax.
However, when I go to try an install the scanner driver, the following error appears:
"mc1690MF Scanner can’t be installed on this computer.
The operation system is not adequate for running magicolor 1690MF."
    I am running 10.6.1.
I downloaded the drivers from the konica minolta website, and it claims the drivers are compliant up to 10.5 (http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/download/SearchResults.aspx?productid=1167 )
Is there any way to get a scanner driver that is compliant for the snow leopard OS? Is there an alternative to waiting for the manufacturer to update their drivers?

I am having the same problem. I was able to scan last week and suddenly this week image capture cannot find the scanner. The Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690mf prints fine but scanning is not functioning. I looking at drivesr on Konica Minolta's site but there were none for os 10.6.1. I called them in and they could not suggest anything other than reloading the printer. They could not tell me if this was a known problem. The person I spoke with says that with apple making the updates it might be a couple of months before they have a driver for it..... how frustrating I can't use the scanner for a couple of months??? Any suggestions out there?

  • Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 Unable to print to Custom paper sizes

    Hi
I have a Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 laser printer that (since switching to mac from windows) is unable to print to Custom paper sizes (entered in the print dialog box from within photoshop CS3) and nothing will print from illustrator CS3 at all.
I have OS 10.5.2 with the 10.1 photoshop update, and the 13.0.2 illustrator update.
When I use to use windows xp & photoshop CS2 I didn't seem to have trouble with this function, but since jumping over to mac & CS3, I can't print on any paperstock other than the defult sizes listed (which it dose perfectly) - I've re downloaded & installed the printers driver, downloaded & installed a firmware update for the printer and tried printing with a network cable & usb cable - all with no luck. I've also tried entering in the custom paper size in the printers LCD panel & setting in as default but it still wants to print on A4 or A3 paper...
Any ideas out there would be appreciated!

so I've been pulling my hair out for 2 days & nights now trying to figure out why I couldnt print on custom paper sizes - I've just now hit the "help" icon in the print dialog box and found this:
    "Creating a custom page size
If you want to print on unusual size paper, such as an odd-size envelope or card, you may be able choose the paper’s size from the Paper Size pop-up menu. To find the Paper Size pop-up menu, choose File > Page Setup, if available. Otherwise, choose File > Print.
If you can’t find the size you need, you can create your own custom paper size.
To create a custom page size:
Open the document you want to print.
Choose File > Page Setup, if it’s available. Choose Page Attributes from the Settings pop-up menu, and then choose Any Printer from the Format For pop-up menu.
Choosing Any Printer ensures that your document can print on any printer that supports the paper size you select.
If Page Setup is not available, choose File > Print.
If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu.
Choose Manage Custom Sizes from the Paper Size pop-up menu.
    Click the Add button.
Type a name for the paper size.
Enter values in the Paper Size and Printer Margins field."
All I had to change was the "any printer" setting from my (konica minolta) printers name to "Any Printer"!! now my custom paper sizes are printing fine and dandy!! phew!!!!!!!!

  • Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300DL Drivers

I hope to someday to buy a Mac Mini and would like to know if there are drivers for the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300DL.
I was at a Mac Store today and asked one of the employees if there are drivers for the Magicolor 2300DL on a Mac Mini and he went to Konica Minolta's Webpage and did a search for Magicolor 2300DL Mac Drivers and there the drivers were for Windows Mac and even Linux.
When I got home I went to http://kmbs.konicaminolta.us/ and could not find any Mac Drivers, all they had were Vista and below, not even Windows 7 drivers.
Where can I get MAC drivers for the Magicolor 2300DL for what ever the latests version of Mac OS is?
    Thanks.

    Try this > http://printer.konicaminolta.net/drivers/mac/2430dlppc.dmg

  • Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL Laser no longer working with 10.4.10

Hey all. I have a Minolta 2530DL laser printer that I previously had up and running via my network, using 10.4.9 and it worked fine. But ever since I updated to 10.4.10, the printer is no longer seen by my Mac. I installed the driver found here:
    http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support/currentprinters/mc2530dlsup.htm#osx
And nothing I've read indicates that it shouldn't work. I've uninstalled the driver, reinstalled it, tried my USB cable, ethernet, etc. Nothing works. I even went so far as to return the printer for another, and the new one does the exact same thing! So, it has to be my OS.
The printer isn't seen in System Profile under any configuration. The printer starts up just fine, but never goes online and into Ready status. As I said, It worked perfectly before.
I'm at a loss as to what to do, so any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jason

Called Minolta and the tech was really quick to blame "bad power" for zapping the brains of the printer. He said that they would send me another one, and to ship the old one back. So, in taking the printer apart, I removed the extra mem that I added to it (256MB PC133), and thought "hmmm.. I'm going to try this without the memory stick to see if it works", and it DID! So, the problem was bad memory!!! At one point, this memory worked just fine with the printer, but musta just went bad. So, i'm going to order a fresh new stick and be done with it.
Too bad that I wasted at least six hours of my life troubleshooting this thing! Thank goodness I didn't reinstall my OS, which was going to be the next step!
Thanks for your help Jason, you're a real life saver!
    Love,
    Jason

  • I can no longer "duplex print" with my Konica-Minolta Magicolor 3100!

In the dialog box for setting up my printer to print, the option "single-sided/double-sided" is no longer present. As far as I know, my 3100 PPD is version 1.0.2, created 11/16/2001. (In the "en.lproj" folder inside the "Resources" folder) Up to now, with earler OS versions, my printer's duplex function worked fine. Now, it's gone. Any clues, anyone? I really do miss the old "Printer Setup" utility. Ah, the price of progress!

It looks like I was wrong. I still can print on both sides, it's just presented in a different (and unfamiliar) way through the print dialog. And I'm not given the option of "long edge" or "short edge" double-sided printing like before, but at least I can still do it, and the latter may just be a matter of page setup prior to printing. So thanks for all your help, everyone!

  • Printing with 10.5.6 on G5 Mac to Konica Minolta Magicolor 3100 printer?

I'm tearing my grey hair out on this one. I have my 3100 configured with a certain IP address; does it need one? I've tried to connect it several ways, to no avail:
1: Directly to the G5's LAN port via cat5 cable. Looks like it is available and selected, but doesn't receive print job and process.
2: Ditto, only crossover cable used. Same result.
3: Connected to LAN port on AEBS (older "dome" model), with and without crossover cable. Same result.
Can someone "cookbook" me into proper connection and setup so I can use my printer?

    John Reed6 wrote:
...I decided this was due to having an old "g" base station, and perhaps the link is too slow for passing all the data of the large job before timeout on the printer.
I don't think this would be the case. Page printers have memory to buffer the incoming spool file and will not print until the entire page is received. There must have been some other reason for the 'larger' failing. And how large are we talking? If it is a full colour A4/LTR page then the Airport will still cope with that.
So, I set the subnet mask on the printer to 255.255.0.0, the same one used by the G5, and set the G5's address to 192.168.0.100, to be on the same net as the printer, at 192.168.0.165. Now at last I was able to ping the printer from Network Utility. But, when I tried to add the printer, the system didn't "find" it, and when I finally got it going by manually putting the printer name into LP, I got a system error box: "Operation Could not be completed client-error-not-authorized"
When you add an IP printer, the printer is usually not 'found', even PS devices with installed PPDs. You typically need to manually search for the printer model via the Print Using menu.
What's the right way to set up the printer? Should I be using the crossover cable with the printer, and is the "LP" dialog the correct one to use? When the printer was connected to the base station, I found it through AppleTalk, but not when connected directly. Thanks for your help, you've brought me a long way already!
When you have the printer connected to the base station, you should be using a straight cable. The x-over is for direct PC to printer (peripheral) connections, although these days most devices will work with a straight cable also for these types of connections.
I'm not sure what you mean about the LP dialog. I would suggest you add the printer selecting the IP (as in Internet Protocol) tab and then selecting HP Jetdirect-Socket in the next menu. Then all you need to do is input the IP address of the 3100 and then browse for the 3100 in the Print Using menu.
If you want to use AppleTalk, which will let you browse for the printer, you will need to ensure that you have AppleTalk enabled in your network settings. I am not sure why you would be able to see the printer when it is connected to the base station but not when connected directly to your Mac. In the days when we had to use AppleTalk, the network would usually have a hub/router between the printer and Mac, so I've no experience with the c-cable connection with AppleTalk.

  • AUR package for konica minolta laser printer (CUPS)

    Hi there,
currently I'm writing a AUR package for the Konica Minolta Magicolor 5430 Desklaser.
I have a question to put the ICC profiles files and special KM files to the cups tree.
The Konica Minolta makefile put the binary "rstertokm5430" to the directory "/usr/lib/cups/filter/" which is completely correct but the *.ppd file and *.icm files are going by default to /usr/share/KONICA_MINOLTA/mc5430DL/Profiles (icm files) and to
    /usr/share/cups/model/KONICA_MINOLTA/km5430dl.ppd.gz (ppd file)
The directory in my running archlinux is
    usrsharecupsmodel*.ppd and
    usrsharecupsprofiles*.icm
Additionally there are "Halftones" files (*.bmp)
    usrshareKONICA_MINOLTAmc5430DLHalftones*.bmp
I think about to put the Konica Minolta files in to this (new) directory tree:
    usrsharecupskm5430dlmodel*.ppd
    usrsharecupskm5430dlprofiles*.icm
    usrsharecupskm5430dlhalftones*.bmp
How do I have to copy these files to be archlinux compliant ?
    best regards,
    Frank

frigg, my apologies for overlooking an important point in my last post. The three magicolor drivers have different version numbers, unlike the other examples of multiple printer drivers in one PKGBUILD. This means you will need one PKGBUILD for each driver, in order to have the correct Arch version number. There is still value in doing them together, since they have many common elements.
As a consequence of this change, I think it might be best to put the single PPD file in /usr/share/cups/model/, rather than have a directory with one ppd file in it.  It appears that the KM_PPDDIR variable in the configure script controls this location, so I have added a sed command to the build script accordingly.
As another consequence, the package names need to be changed. I would suggest cups-mc2430dl, etc. This uses the short internal names used by the drivers, and Arch package names are supposed to be lower-case. This means that your awk script no longer works for all three drivers. Rather than write three different awk scripts, I have ported your directory change to a sed command.  When you package a stand-alone script with the PKGBUILD, you have to also maintain its md5sum, so it is simpler to do everything inside the build script if you can.
Following are the three incomplete PKGBUILD scripts incorporating these changes. They are complete enough that when you run makepkg, they will  download the tarball (if it isn't already present), check its md5sum, copy it into the src directory, uncompress it, and modify the configure script. One way for you to proceed from here is to add lines to the build script, run makepkg, check that the right things happen in the src directory, and then that the correct things are put into the correct place in the pkg directory. The next line in the build script runs configure, which won't finish on my system due to the lack of libjbig.

  • Konica - Minolta printer with 10.5.0

I checked the list of printers supported with leopard and there are very few minolta printers listed. Mine is not one of them. I have not bought leopard but will eventually. Does that mean that I will have to wait for a driver for 10.5.0, from konica-minolta, or since it is not listed it will work with their other printer models?

I have a Konica Magicolor 5450. You don't need to find drivers in the Mac system because Konica's drivers can be loaded on the mac either from their CD Roms or from their website. However, the communication between Mac and Konica software/firmware is very poor. In my case, all my greys come out a beautiful shade of pink. The printer itself is a good piece of engineering, but they haven't fully worked out the compatibility between their machines and our macs. Bought it Feb 2005 and have had permanent problems ever since. We have exchanged at least 60+ emails and I am now on the third one they sent me to address the problem. A lot hinges on your having to manually show it the pathway to the printer's ICC profile (which you do in the ColourSync window, accessed from the Print Utility window). Also, until my 61st email, it had been impossible to upgrade the printer's firmware version via a Mac. You now can do that, I suspect because I had surprised their techies in Holland who like all their other engineers told me that it wasn't possible, to which I challenged them by asking why, therefore, their website shows the process for upgrading via a mac. Anyway, having finally upgraded the software, the printer is behaving 60% better, though still liable to lapse into pink greys at the slightest change in any set up. Is this anything like the problems you are experiencing?

  • Printing Tip for Konica Minolta Bizhub C550

    Hi all,
I've been browsing the forums for the last week, as I just upgraded to Leopard at work. We use a Konica Minolta BizHub C550 for the vast majority of our printing jobs, and I found that I was having the problem others have described with the print queue inexplicably stalling repeatedly, with the job never getting printed. I'm up and running on our other 2 printers, a Magicolor 7450 and Canon iPF700.
In any case, I have found a good workaround for the BizHub. I am using the printer drivers for the Xerox WorkCentre 7655 with good results. I can choose the correct paper sizes and settings, and don't seem to be having any color matching issues (yet). So I wanted to share this, as I didn't see it in the forums when I was initially freaking out about the situation. Our sales rep we lease the printer from has been communicating with KM all week, and they apparently have no clue when they'll be ready with 10.5 compatible drivers.

    Wow,
I am not alone!!! I recently agreed to a lease of a C550. We have both Windows and Mac workstations and the performance is very poor in the Mac environment. The drivers are severely crippled.
I have been working with my sales rep, a color specialist, and an application specialist from KM and all three of them have had the same problems when testing files. And no one has offered a resolution. I should I have stayed with Xerox.
I have had the same problem as you described. As well as very bad color results. If I try to send a file in CMYK mode on the Mac workstation everything is extremely dark (Light Brown turns Black, etc.) The same file on the windows computer in CMYK is fine. Also, I have taken the same files to a Xerox dealer to compare. The files came out much more accurate (as close as can be expected for a color laser print). I have been in the design and printing industry for over 10 years and I have never been this disappointed. I am curious to see how things turn out and how many other Apple user are left behind with Konica Minolta Drivers.

  • Printing problem with Konica Minolta BizHub282 using RDP on Windows Server 2008 R2

    Hello,
I have an office setup as follows:  Local office IP adress scheme 192.168.201.x.  There is a Konica Minolta BizHub 282 printer connected to the 192.168.201.x network as well as around 10 workstations running Windows 7.  There are also about
10 additional teleworkers WHO DO NOT NEED print access to the Minolta 282.  All of their data is on a cloud server.  I have them setup to first connect to the cloud server using a RRAS PPTP VPN and then to start an RDP session to the separate
RDP server.  The Konica Minolta works ??okay?? with the easy print services and until now, we have just dealt with the lack of features and the occasional print job that goes crazy and prints out 400 blank pages (btw, this is usually on Excel) or a job
that cuts off the margins even when you have it set to "fit to page" (this usually happens in Adobe.)  When I originally set this up, I tried loading the native Konica drivers on the server, but there was no joy because I couldn't get it to
work using the native drivers.  The problem at hand is a feature called "account track."  This feature authenticates your print job by using an account code.  If there is no code, the job just disappears.  When I load the native
Konica driver, the ability to turn on this feature is greyed out (see below):
When I use easy print, the codes seem to go through, but as I mentioned earlier, sometimes the print job just goes insane.  After researching this, it seems to me that there are two ways to overcome this if we can't turn off the account track feature:
    1) Overcome the driver problem. I've tried both of their current drivers without success: VXL and Visual Postscript. When I login to RDP, the (redirected) Konica 282 printer is listed, but when I try to print, it fails due to the missing account track code.
I'm hoping that there is a registry hack to turn this feature on by default with the code or a driver version that works with RDP. They have a WHQL driver available, but it didn't work any better. Is there a way to report this issue to the WHQL labs? Maybe
I can light a fire under Konica's rear end and motivate them to fix the driver.
    2) I saw one discussion where the guy installed the printer out in the clouds as a local printer. He seemed to have a site-to-site VPN, not a client-to-site VPN, so this worked.  Is there a way to do something similar when the customer connects to the
VPN through standard "connect to workplace" setup?  I tried pinging the Konica 282 from the server while logged into the VPN, but the printer could not be found.
    3) I considered setting it up as a google cloud print prnter, but that would require everyone to setup a google account and add a layer of complexity.
Anyone else run into this and have a solution?  If not, does anyone have any ideas on a solution or workaround?
    Thanks,
    Jeffery Smith

    Hi Jeffery,
    Thank you for your comment.
Yeah, you can use universal print driver by configuring Remote Desktop Easy print on RDS Server. Install the driver on RDS server. Now to configure Easy print you need to have minimum client RDP 6.1(But suggest you to install RDP 8.1), .Net Framework 3.5 or
    above and RDSH role.
Also under GPO setting need to check below settings.
Do not allow client print redirection: Disable
Use Terminal Service Easy print printer driver first: Enable
Computer Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Printer redirection
For more information, you can refer below articles.

  • How do I set up a booklet to print with my Konica Minolta?

how do I set up a booklet to print with my Konica Minolta?

Is it a BizHub? If so, use the booklet printing from the Koncia driver.
If it's like the one I have, click the Printer button at the bottom of InDesign's print dialog, then choose Layout/Finish from the drop down menu, and booklet from there.
One thing to note: with this method, leave your paper size the same as one page of your document.

  • Is there a utility to operate a printer under 10.6 from 10.7.2? (No 10.7.2 driver for Konica Minolta bizhub C351)

Konica Minolta bizhub C351 operates reasonably well from an OS X 10.6.x Mac.   As of 12-17-11 Konica Minolta reports no driver for 10.7.2, and our office groupo C351 will not respond to 10.7.2.  Older Macs still under 10.6.8 operate as usual.  From Apply Support directions, direct connecting between iMac 10.7.2 and C351 resulted with iMac no recognizing the C351.  Konica Minolta support, including "advanced", via telephone, confirmed there was no 10.7.2 driver availabe to date.
Suggestion from an Apple user (but not an expert) is that there should be a utility available somewhere with which a Mac operating under 10.7 can dial down to 10.6 for purposes of a situation such as this.  If such a utility, or other solution is out there, please share that wisdom.
    Thanks!

In our office we just switched back to Snow Leopard. Happy as clams now.
