Konqueror: Force web fonts

Good night,
I really like to browse the web, using Konqueror, but since I have installed the MS fonts, the web pages use the MS fonts instead of the fonts, which are defined in the Konqueror settings. Is there any way to, like Firefox is able to, force the usage of a specific fonts set? I would really apprechiate it.
Thanks in advance
cg

hi,
Konqueror -> Preferences -> CSS (Cascading Style sheets) -> use accessibility stylesheet -> Personaliza (i have it in spanish, so the texts may not be exactly this ones.).
then you have to restart konqueror. Close all konqueror windows and run killall konqueror.
I tested it. It doesn't work as spected well (i see pages that change the color and the size of the text, maybe when they use tables), but it is a great improvement over nothing.

  • FF 25 has issues on OS-X 10.8.5. It hangs sites with heavy dom manipulation + web font faces The same page is fine on FF25/Win. Is this being looked at?

    I've been having a lot of issues with Firefox 25 hard-hanging on OS-X 10.8.5. Firefox 24 worked perfectly with various sites I've had problems with recently. Firefox 25 on Windows works fine with the same sites, so does Google Chrome 30, IE9, IE10, and IE11. The hang is very specific to FF25/OSX. Is this being looked at or reported by anyone else? My co-workers are also hitting this. It seems like FF25/OSX has some sort of deadlock condition when there is heavy dom maniplation occurring via JavaScript along with the usage of Web Fonts (font-face/font family). I have to force-quit it and restart. Safe mode makes no difference. Nor does clearing site information.
    If there is any debug I can capture (such as triggering a stack dump) I am more than willing to generate it.

    Followup. Any further updates from Firefox support? This is a blocking issue at my company. We are strong Firefox advocates, but this is starting to damage Firefox's reputation here.

  • Using a web font (Coda), but Muse insists on rasterizing

    I'm using a web font on my site (http://unit304musicvideoproduction.com/), so it should just show the web font. However, Muse insists on rasterizing it. I haven't done anything funky to it, and it even does it when I select Arial as the font, so I don't understand why it's doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    When you select the text frame (not the text within), does the font menu show Coda or it is blank? Blank indicates "mixed fonts", which could mean you have a lingering system font somewhere within the text frame. Please repeat this test for all states (default, rollover, mousedown, active). A system font in any state will force other states to be rasterized as well.
    If you've rules out the possibility of system fonts, please send your Muse file to [email protected] Please include a link to this post.

  • Can Edge Web Fonts be used for Photoshop website mockups?

    I'm keen to know if Edge Web Fonts can be used within Photoshop as an extension (to make the website mockup process smoother). I know Edge Web Fonts plays well with Muse and other Edge Tools, but I don't want to use Muse to build my sites - I just want to do my mockups in Photoshop. Can Edge Web Fonts work from within Photoshop, or will I be forced to switch to something like Extensis Suitcase Fusion for font management within Photoshop? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Problem solved - I've found everything I was looking for (and more) in Edge Reflow.

  • Web Fonts (WOFF) are only blurry in Firefox v32.0 (Current) with ClearType Disabled

    I see this question has been asked in different ways but perhaps not in such a direct manner. I'm on a fresh load of Windows 8.1 with a default setting of ClearType Disabled. Web Fonts render perfectly fine in all browsers except for Firefox. In Firefox, they appear blurred or pixelated. When I enable ClearType they suddenly are fine in Firefox. Oddly if I then disable ClearType and logout and then login, they are still fine. I see that Google Chrome previously had a similar issue but understand they fixed the issue in Chrome. Is this an issue that needs to be addressed by Firefox? Are antialias properties going to be advanced in CSS to possibly force fonts to render properly? (Fonts are stored locally on the same domain as the website.)

    Hi,
    I understand that you are asking about why when ClearType is disabled Firefox has blurry font.
    If you take a look at the about:config entries on the page and search for cleartype, you will see that gfx font rendering is set to false. However for downloadable fonts it is true. It may be that you were on a site that had a downloadable font, or hosted on the web server host. There is also a force use for certain type in gdi classing family and max size. These can be changed by the user, however those are the default values currently.
    You can leave feedback for the developers about this in input.mozilla.org as well.

  • Web fonts questions...

    What's the situation with the new web fonts services then? Has anybody here used them?
    I keep looking at them, but they could be quite expensive on an ongoing basis, and yes, there are some nice fonts available that can really make a site look lovely, but how do they differ from a normal font?
    I always thought that for a font to display correctly, it needed to be in the system folder of the computer/device being used to view it. These font's are on different servers to our own websites, so surely that slows the site down. If not, why not?
    If a remote server is able to deliver a font to my browser, then why am I not able to use my own fonts on my remote server and deliver them to you to make my site look beautiful and desigerey instead of having to pay for the service? I mean, how reliable are some of the businesses that host them.
    Web fonts are a new thing, and they'll probably catch on, but they might not either. The average punter isn't going to want to spend more money on fonts than they do on hosting, so it's going to be quite an elitist market which will keep the prices high, and possibly mean the service will suffer low or non-existent profitability forcing them out of business, and that leaves a website with boring fonts again should their service disappear. If your site is dependant on those fonts to look good, then you're really stuffed!
    What are your thoughts about them?
    Mat

    @font-face can be embedded into your sitewide CSS and hosted on your own server.  But be sure to read your font licenses very carefully.  Not all fonts are licensed for websites.  When in doubt, don't use it!
    Another major drawback is cross browser/device support.
    Internet Explorer only supports EOT
    Mozilla browsers support OTF and TTF
    Safari and Opera support OTF, TTF and SVG
    Chrome supports TTF and SVG.
    Mobile browsers like Safari on the iPad and iPhone require SVG.
    Cross-browser, web-only font format that uses gzip compression. IE9+, FF3.6+, Chrome 5+ WOFF

  • How do I use Edge Web Fonts with Muse?

    How do I use Edge Web Fonts with Muse - is it an update to load, a stand alone, how does it interface with Muse? I've updated to CC but have no info on this.

    Hello,
    Is there a reason why you want to use Edge Web Fonts with Adobe Muse?
    Assuming you wish to improve typography of your web pages, you should know that Muse is fully integrated with Typekit. This allows you to access and apply over 500 web fonts from within Muse. Here's how you do it:
    Select a text component within Muse, and click the Text drop-down.
    Select Add Web Fonts option, to pop-open the Add Web Fonts dialog.
    Browse and apply fonts per your design needs.
    Muse also allows you to create paragraph styles that you can save and apply to chunks of text, a la InDesign. Watch this video for more information: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/using-typekit-with-adobe-muse/
    Also take a look at these help files to see if they help you:

    Hope this helps!

  • How do you invoke Edge Web Fonts?

    Assuming this is available in this release, how to you bring up the Edge Web Fonts capability?

    Hi Phil,
    You should be able to trigger the code hints manually anywhere in the font-family value by pressing Ctrl+Space.  It should also pop up automatically if you type "," followed by a space anywhere in the value.  Are those approaches not working for your code?  (If so, please post a snippet of your CSS here so we can investigate).

  • How do you use edge web font in Edge Reflow?

    By default, I don't have a lot of fonts. It's just viewing a few of them.
    How can you get the web font for Edge Reflow? Can you use font from fontbook?
    Is there a way to download Edge Web Font?

    Above: using Brandon Grotesque (web use font) does not display the correct font.
    I'm using Typekit and have an internet connection. If I switch to a "desktop use" font, it shows up, so I'm guessing the "web use" only fonts won't show in Reflow. A little frustrating when you're trying to get an accurate preview/determine best font styling because of the back-and-forth workflow.
    Above: using Source Sans Pro (desktop use font) does display the correct font.

  • How do I include 'Edge Web Fonts' into Edge Animate?

    How do I include 'Edge Web Fonts' (not Google Web Fonts) into Edge Animate?

    Have you tried to use google fonts? I have used them and they work for me.
    When you add your font for example:
    Copy paste:
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Finger+Paint' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
    and then for font family.
    'Finger Paint', cursive;
    then select addfont on the addfont screen

  • Adobe Muse (2014.3) "Add Web Font" Function Not Working As Expected - Newly Added Fonts Become Unavailable Though Shown

    Hello.
    This has also been posted in the Community: Adobe Muse Bugs forum.
    I've been having some odd/irregular issues though they have now become fairly predictable in nature. The issue is in regards to Adobe Muse (2014.3) and the availability of web fonts provided through the applications "Add Web Fonts" feature. Once added they perform as expected but then become "unavailable." Full details below. I have been a Creative Cloud Complete subscriber for a number of years so am fairly familiar with the way in which the system works minus a few issues that have popped up now and then, this one included.
    System Info:
    Adobe Creative Cloud (Full Subscription): Version 1.9.1.474
    Adobe Muse: Version 2014.3
    OS X Yosemite: 10.10.2
    Here is a recap of what has been taking place. I'll detail the bug as best I can.
    1. Created new Adobe Muse project. Everything normal.
    2. Chose to add a new font through the "Add Web Fonts" function within Muse. A note, my Creative Cloud App is running/open at all times (in file synch mode).
    3. Chose new fonts using above. All seemed fine (see screenshots below).
    4. Fonts also were indicated as being "Synched" within Creative Cloud (screenshot below).
    5. As expected the two fonts were added to the list of available Web Fonts within Muse (first screenshot below - left). I added them successfully to my site. Well after a number of hours I went back to this same font selection menu within Muse and the fonts were still visible yet the sub-menu that one would expect showing various forms (i.e. Bold, Italic, etc) was not available. In a sense the font could not be chosen from the list even though the name is clearly visible (second screenshot below - right).
    Have no idea what may have been wrong. Saved Muse project, closed and reopened - nothing changed. Created new project - fonts still "shown" in menu but can't be used. Did find a vague description using Google of similar problem (different application) which recommended closing Creative Cloud Desktop App and reopening as one possible solution. This DID WORK initially yet the problem, though corrected for a period of time (few hours at most), would reappear again where one would again see yet not be able to choose from the two Web Fonts. Went so far as to uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application and reinstalling. Still have not solved the problem.
    Any thoughts as to what this may be would be welcome. Restarting the CC app each and every time the fonts become unavailable is quite time consuming to my workflow.
    Thanks!

    Abhishek,
    Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
    I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
    I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
    And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
    First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
    Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
    And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
    I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • How to use Adobe Edge Web Fonts correctly

    I am a Dreamweaver newbie and am trying to learn how to use it through the tutorials. I am stuck at part 3 trying to use Adobe Edge Web Fonts correctly in my web site. As far as I can tell I have followed the instructions in the tutorial correctly, but the font style effect does not show up on my site. I am working on a Windows 7 machine and using Dreamweaver 5.5. I have copied and pasted the javascript into the correct spot in the head of the index.html page as well as included the font-family name in the CSS file and saved the whole smash. The source code for my index page looks exactly like the sample in the tutorial, and I have tried to view my site in my browser, but no dice. Doesn't display the Edge Web Font style in the web page. I believe I've done everything according to the directions, but I suppose I've missed some small detail. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

    You need to add a <script> to the head of your documents like the example below.  In my example, I'm using all of the aguafina-script and league-gothic fonts.
    <!--Edge Font-->
    <script src="//use.edgefonts.net/aguafina-script:n4:all;league-gothic:n4:all.js"></script>
    CSS:
         h1 {
         font-family: league-gothic, sans-serif;
         font-weight:bold;
         color: #639;
         font-size: 250%;
    A simple way to get the correct codes is to go to Adobe Edge Web Fonts and select the font you wish to use.
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts
    NOTE: You won't see the custom web fonts displayed in Design View, Live View or when previewed locally unless you use a local testing server.  An easier way to test is by uploading the page to your remote server.
    Hope this helps,
    Nancy O.

  • How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

    I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities.  As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable?  Have I missed something.
    As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family.  I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account.  So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac.  They do not appear in Muse.
    To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool.  However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it?  Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
    Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
    PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

    Hi David,
    I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts.  (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
    There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
    o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
    o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:
    TYPEKIT | Adding fonts to your site
    Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
    If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts#/?xHeight=high&contrast=low&class=sans-serif&width=re gular
    We are also working on a more complete integration of Typekit with Muse in the future, but I can't say yet when that will be available.
    >> PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.
    Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)?  It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:
    Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
    I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,

  • Problem with Web-Fonts displayed on Windows PCs?

    Hi,
    I am creating my first site with Muse, and am having problems getting the web-fonts to display correctly on Windows computers. This happens with both Chrome and IE, however you can see the rendering is much worse in IE. On my Mac (that I'm creating this on, the fonts all display perfectly).
    This consistently happens across all web-fonts, currently it is using 'Comfortaa'. There are some design inconsistencies on the website still - it's a work in progress! The temporary Business Catalyst site is http://levante2.businesscatalyst.com.
    Shots from the Windows PC:
    Chrome on Windows (hard to see the imperfections given the only thing I have to save a jpg is MSPaint on this PC and the compression looks poor anyway) - effectively the problem is that lines are jagged rather than smooth:
    IE8:
    Strangely, I did some playing around with this over the weekend, and now there is one set of headers (on the 'Food' page), though I'm not entirely sure why this is ok and the rest are not?
    IE8, Dark green on light green header is correct:
    Any help would be massively appreciated! I'm tearing my hair out.

    I think what you're seeing is simply the normal (if unfortunate) variation in font rendering in different browsers and on different operating systems and OS versions. There's a multi-post blog on the Typekit site that describes all the variations caused by different rendering systems across browsers and OS'es <http://blog.typekit.com/2010/10/21/type-rendering-web-browsers/>.
    Short of converting the text to images (which has many disadvantages versus live text), I'm not aware of any way to avoid these variations.
