Korean text in photo book print (Aperture)

Hi, I want to know if Korean language text will be printed on my photobook created by Aperture.
To make this post helpful for others, is there any language not supported by Aperture/iPhoto?
FYI, I'm ordering from the United States.
Thank you.

The Print Product page
http://www.apple.com/sg/aperture/resources/print-products.html
says:
Hardcover and softcover books.
Create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind hardcover book of your summer travel photos. Or a set of impressive softcover books of your work to give to clients. Aperture 3 makes it easy with 11 professionally designed themes. You can customise each template by resizing and repositioning the photo and text boxes, and create borders of any width or colour on photo boxes. For text, you can use any font, size or style, and design multicolumn text boxes. And the books are available in various sizes, from an extra-large 33-by-25.4-cm format to small books that fit in your pocket.
I take that to mean, you can use any font, that comes preinstalled by Apple.  Does your Korean font show, when you preview the page, as described here?
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
The preview is supposed to look exactly, as the printed book will look.

  • Photo book printed with text "last import" on last page

    I had a photo book printed and when I received it on the last page of the book there was text, "last import"?
    I did not write that text and can't explain where it came from.

    The above link did not work, the link took me to a page that read,
    We're sorry.
    We can't find the page you're looking for.
    Please return to the Apple Support homepage.
    But, you were very helpful because  when I went to my book I created in iPhoto, I clicked on the option key when I pressed the buy button and I was able to save the book as a pdf.  You were correct, "last import" was in a dialog box which is why it was in the book.
    This was the first book I ever created in iPhoto and I went to the Apple Store (a few times) to take one on one classes and worked on the book in the group training.  When I asked one of the Apple Store Group Training Instructors, she told me not to worry, that text won't print.  Lesson learned, I will save it as a pdf to proof it before buying the book.
    Thanks again for your help, very much appreciate you taking the time to help me figure it out.
    Have a good day.

  • Hello I thought that I had ordered a photo book in aperture but not sure that it has gone through as I have not had a confirmation email,

    Hello I thought that I had ordered a photo book in aperture this morning but not sure that the order has gone through as I have not had a confirmation email,

    t I am currently in canada and trying to get the book sent to Australia. Im not sure if apple is picking up my location and that is having any affect on it?
    The AppleID you are using to buy the book, must be tied to the location of the store where you are ordering the book from. Is your AppleID associated with an australian address? And are you placing the order at the Australian store? The Canadian store will not shiptoAustralia, see these policies: http://www.apple.com/internetservices/terms/sales_policies.html
    Also set the "Region" in the language & Text preferences to "Australia", while you are ordering.

    I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project/photos from iphoto.
    Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

    No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.

  • Using text in photo books

    I'm making a photo book and find the text options limiting.  is there anyway  - even with a 3rd party ap - that you can add text over a photo?

    You can use one of these image editing apps to add text directly onto an image.
    Some Image Editors That Support layers:
    Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac - $79
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free

  • Photo book printing

    I am having problem in printing photo book, I get error message from Apple and they cancelled the order. They also mentioned to preview in PDF format.  While checking the photo book in pdf format some pages are having distorted image (like running color stripes). During beginning of this year I had printed 2 albums and it came out very well.  I recently updated to MAC OS X Lion.  I am having this problem only after this.  Is there anything to do with this.  Individually all the pictures are in good format.
    Kindly help as the pictures are very important for me to print and have spent several hours working on the book.

    I've got the same issue.
    I worked several hours on my wedding book and I can't buy it

  • Sync photo book print project between two Macs?

    I have two Macs synced using iCloud Photo Library which works great.  I noticed that the Photo Books (and other print products) don't sync.  Is there a way to find that file in the Package Contents and copy it over to my other Mac?  Probably not the safest thing to do but I would love to be able to work on my photo book on multiple Macs.  If not I guess I could put my library on an external drive and use access the same library from both Macs.
    Thanks.

I think if I knew what files they are I could lump them together in one folder and copy that folder back and forth to each other via wireless. As long as path is the same on both mac. I'm just not sure and need someone that's maybe been there.

    Wireless connection is a bad idea as data rate transfer speed needed for video material is pretty fast. I'm sure that your macbook air hard drive is not designed to give a sustained data rate tranfer speed for a such usage.
    Partitionning is a bad idea too as your internal drive has to seek for data stored on 2 logical locations fitted on just one physical support. It seems many many actuator stop and go and less efficient data rate transfer speed.
    I maintain my suggestion, go for a dedicated external hard drive where you will put all media related to your project AND the project file itself. If FCE is correctly installed on both mac, your project will open flawlessly from one mac or other.

  • Photo book prints too dark

    The large hard cover book I ordered through iPhoto came back way to dark and saturated. What happened to ColorSync and should I expect a better print product from Aperture?

    What color profile are the photos - sRGB is the best - many people have reported that using adobe RGB causes very dark prints

  • How to create a "text with photos" book in Elements 8?

    Hello all!
    I am new to APE and this forum; I've been reading about it (APE 7, for the most part - right now I'm reading "The Missing Manual" for version 7), and have pre-ordered version 8.
    I have published many books in the past on lulu.com, but none of them contained photographs; my current book will also include many photographs (it's about half text and half photos); I'm wondering if there's a better way to create it -- using APE 8 -- than my normal method, which is to use Open Office Writer to create the document (inserting pictures from files where appropriate, I guess), and then, as a final step, converting the document to a .PDF and uploading that.
    I am thinking that what I should be able to do is have an underlying base layer that is an image with low opacity, and on top of that a layer that is my text. I could rotate the "landscape" images prior to adding them to fit the document's layout. Is this the [best] way to do this? A concern I have about that method is that then every page is a photograph -- which could make the download size enormous (instead of simply semi-enormous).
    Thoughts?

    You can simulate it, although it might not be what you look for...
    Example (buggy but that's just a proof of concept):
    class MulticolorText extends CustomNode
      var text: String;
      var colors: Color[];
      var font: Font;
      override public function create(): Node
        HBox
          var l = text.length() / sizeof colors;
          content: for (i in [ 0 ..< sizeof colors])
            Text { content: text.substring(i * l, (i + 1) * l), fill: colors, font: font }
    // Used as:
    MulticolorText
    text: "Multicolor"
    font: Font { size: 36 }
    translateX: 20
    translateY: 20
    colors: [ Color.rgb(200, 0, 25), Color.rgb(0, 200, 75), Color.rgb(200, 200, 125), Color.rgb(0, 0, 175), Color.rgb(0, 0, 225)  ]

  • Photo book print quality: large vs. medium (both softcover)

    hello all,
    I just wanted to share my experience about the difference in print quality between the medium softcover and large (in my case, softcover) books from iPhoto, something I wondered about before I took the plunge and ordered them.
    I recently received copies of both, ordered a week apart, both using the 300 dpi hack, but unfortunately of diff't photos in each, so the comparison won't be too scientific.
    First impressions: the photos in the large softcover seemed to me better than the medium. You can detect some very fine dots with the naked eye, in the places where a color shades into white. Overall, not objectionable at all, especially at a reasonable viewing distance. Akin to a decent/average inkjet photo. Meanwhile, the medium format struck me as having a worse print resolution, like a photo in a newspaper or cheaply printed magazine. The halftone pattern seemed more noticeable.
    However, on closer inspection, side by side, I can see the halftone dots in each, and I wonder if they're actually printed at the same resolution. I think it was partly the bigger size of the average photo in the large book that convinced me it had a better resolution, and the smaller photos in a medium book can make the whole thing look bad. Also, I can definitely detect banding from the halftone pattern in the medium book that I don't notice in the large; but could this be due to the subject matter in the medium (blurred washes of muted color) more than a print resolution difference? Perhaps.
    My conclusion: while it could be that the print resolution on the large is slightly better, I suspect my perception of the quality difference is based more on photo size and subject matter (sharp focus w/patterns, texture, moderate detail rather than empty color looks best). Still, despite my suspicion that the print resolution is the same, I can't shake the sense the large looks a little better.
    Which is too bad in a way, as I think the medium has a lot going for it: it's cheaper than the large, and I actually much prefer to have a series of single, full-bleed images at 6x8 than two or three or more cluttered together on a bigger page for the same price. Plus I find the peek-a-boo cutout on the cover of the large book a bit cheesy.
    So if you're going to go medium, I would definitely stay away from those six-photos-a-page layouts, especially if you have people in your small photos: their features will be degraded enough they start to look a little funny/unrecognizable. Bigger is better.
    And if anyone has the same photo at the same size in two differently sized books to compare, that would settle things.
    Also, I had a number of grayscale scans that I converted to rgb before adding to iPhoto, and the b&w photos printed in the book look great. While I would describe them as 'cool', I don't detect a noticeable color cast, and the blacks are decent.
    Overall, as an amateur whose expectations were aimed a bit low, I'm pleased with both for the price, and will look to large for special occasions, medium for everyday photosets.

    You're confusing two similar though technically different things.
    You have the dpi (dot's per inch in the raster file) resolution of the images (assuming the image will not be reduced or enlarged) of 300 dpi - that is a static resolution and it one of two resolution settings that affect the quality of a printed image.
    I was told the books are printed cmyk with screening so the other resolution that you have no control over is the "LPI" or "Lines per Inch" of the printing process. The CMYK separations are each printed at a different angle to achieve the full color effect.
    The soft cover books appear to be printed at a lesser lpi than the hard cover books which would give the images a courser look to them.
    I have not compared the books under a loop so this is going on what I was told.

  • CANNOT buy photo book from Aperture 3.3.1

    I've created a photobook using Aperture 3 and went to submit it for buying
    After logging in at the first screen
    > I reconfirmed my password, answered my security question, entered date of birth
    > Accepted terms and conditions
    > Entered billing information
    > Entered shipping information (which is exactly the same as billing, though I didnt tick the option box, because of the following reason)
    Pressed save and then I get a message:
    "Please try again later"
    There was no other error message, doesn't tell me whats wrong or anything else
    I noticed 2 other Aperture users also having a similar problem, but their posts didnt receive any solution, so I decided to post my own
    Please help out if you know of any ideas/solutions
    Thanks in advance

    Same issue ordering photo prints with error message
    - Please try again later  -
    Solved as follows:
    1. reset password (appleid.apple.com) according to Apple standards (i.e. they will let you know)
    2. security question answers had to 6 characters or longer (oddly without saying so Apple...?)
    Thats it. I really hate when things like this happens, you spend hours on blog sites when, really, I should be doing, well, something else..)
