Kotoeri not available... not even showing!
Hello!
I am wondering how to activate kotoeri in Mac OS X 10.4.10, because I don't find it at all.
I have looked at the System Preferences / International / Input
And guess what... no Kotoeri option, not even in grey.
I changed to have everything in Japanese (for my beginners eyes that was though!!) and no option.
I have also done some reading on this forum, deleting some plist file, doing some reboot, changing the order of languages, and so on, but still nothing.
And from what I have understood, kotoeri is shipped with Mac OS X, but at my knowledge, this is not true, at least not for my computer.
So where can I download it? Are they in the CD of Tiger? If yes how can I install it without reinstalling everything?
if it can help, I have upgraded my Mac from a 10.3 to a 10.4 several years ago.
I have also a Logitech keyboard (Swiss french layout).

I have finally reinstalled the complete system on top of my version of Mac OS X 10.4.10.
And kotoeri was available, but my mac was in a state not really nice... so I have saved all my datas, and reinstalled from scratch, and now everything is back to normal, and I have kotoeri...
The only problem now, is that I have a Kodak printer, and the driver won't install correctly, in fact Mac OSX does not seems to see them at all, as nothing happened...
I will search, and if not reask for help!! :-D

Is this a global problem that JavaScript is not running on any site? The on/off setting is still available in the about:config preferences editor.

Does that fix it or are particular sites still problematic?
One way that your normal default preferences could be changed is by an extension, and another is by external software creating a user.js file. If this problem recurs, you can investigate both of those.

I purchased a Holux M-1200E Bluetooth GPS Data Logger. The device paired with my laptop just fine so I know it is working right. The device will not even show up on my iphone or ipad to pair via bluetooth. Is there a way to pair without jailbreaking??? I haven't had any trouble to date pairing any devic with my iphone or ipad, this is ridiculous!!!! Is there a way to update my bluetooth settings on my iphone 4s to be able to have this device be recognized??? I love my apple devices, but this is very frustrating. I bought this Data Logger for a specific purpuse to help out with my Search and Rescue volunteer activities, and I really need help with this!!! I am hoping apple will help me!!!

I looked at the same sight for that and it does not say that. This is the first time I have posted a question, you don't have to be mean about it. I am trying to get this to work for a good cause.
It may be the best source of assistance is the manufacturer of the device. I suspect you will need a specific app for the iPhone to get it to work, but the site is rather ambiguous about that. -
IiPad is stuck in the iTunes connect screen. I have held the home button down while plugging the iPad in and still nothing. Hard reset isn't even doing anything. It's not even showing up under my computer. Please Help

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

It started this morning when i was syncing it to my iTunes to get some pictrues off of it for class and it said to restore it. I've done restore before so I clicked and went along. But then it didnt work at all and came up with error 14. I shut down my pc and turned it back on, plugged it in and after an hour of syncing it worked. Left, went to class and noticed that none of my music or apps were on my phone so after my class i went and plugged it back in again. Thats when everything went down hill. It said the same things about restoring and what nots so I didnt think anything of it. Everytime I tried again it said it would fail with the error messages as 14,2003, or 3200. Now it's not even showing up in my iTunes when i plug it in. I've tried the advice on here but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Not reading disc-not even showing disc in drive
Last night I spent about two hours loading cd's onto itunes. Half way through one of them, it stopped importing it. I had to force quit. I notice that the machine was getting really hot, so I shut down. The book went into to sleep mode, it didn't shut down, and I couldn't bring the screen back up. I unplugged it and figured I'd let the battery die. This morning I plugged it back in and started up, however, it's not even showing that there's a disc in the drive. If i click eject nothing happens. Anyone else experience this. The thing isn't even a week old...help
Quit all applications that are using files on the disc.
1. Place the computer in sleep mode.
2. Press the Media Eject key at the top-right corner of the keyboard.
3. If that doesn't work, drag the disc's icon to the Trash.
4. If that doesn't work, restart the computer, then hold down the mouse button.
5. To restart, choose Restart from the Apple menu

Your iPhone charging port may have a minor short, causing iPhone to falsely sense it is connected to a dock turning off its speaker. Clean iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush.

For what purpose are you trying to pair them?
Only supported peer to peer apps such as photo transfer or multiplayer games can connect to other iOS devices via Bluetooth. You initiate the connection inside the app running on both devices. -
i have forgotten my passcode. how do i do a restore if my ipod is not even showing up under devices when im n itunes?

External Hard drive not even showing up on my desktop
I am plugging in my external hard drive and nothing happens. Did I do something to erase the whole thing? Why doesn't it show up at all on my desktop?
I get this problem every now and again. I noticed it occurs after being used with a windows pc. For some reason if my external hard drive hasn't been ejected properly when on a windows pc it won't show up on my mac at all, not even in disk utility.
Solution that works for me:
Simply plug it back into a windows pc and properly eject it by right clicking the drive and slecting eject.
If you don't have a pc to hand or can't be bothered boot camping, you can run a virtual instance of windows in parrelles desktop and select the hard drive with the usb devices menu.

please help i am going off my mind since i updated my iphone 4 when i go to sync it tells me it can not be used as it requires 10.6.3 or higher
my mac is running on 10.6.8 and i upgraded my itunes to 10.5 everything seems to be in place but the phone is not even being recognised in

my sons ipod says disabled for 22,807,916 min and will not allow me to restore it. on the computer is says that i have to enter his password but the slid to unlock is not even of the screen, HELP!!!!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Why can't I purchase movies from my Apple TV? When searching not all available movies even show up!
I've had my apple tv for a while now, but have never actually purchased anything from the itunes store directly from the device. A friend recommended "Sleepless in Seattle" to me, and since it's not in Netflix or On Demand, I decided to buy it from itunes.
In doing a search in the Movies section of my Apple TV and typing in "Sleepl", I got no results. Bummed, I went onto Amazon to see how much the DVD would cost. On a whim, I opened itunes on my computer and did a search for the movie. To my shock, it is available for purchase on itunes for $9.99!
Once I found this out, I went back to my Apple TV and searched again. The movie still didn't appear to exist. I noticed then that every movie on the apple tv only gave me the option of renting, not buying. I was going to purchase from my computer, but then thought better of it because I wasn't sure it would be made available for me to watch on the apple tv.
Is there something wrong with my system? Why can't I buy movies from the device? I can buy tv shows, so it just seems weird to me that this is limited to the movies!Ha, ha, you are such a tool!

Currently I own a 27 inch iMac, and a 21 inch iMac used by my wife. I just sold my MacBook Air, which replaced my MacBook Pro of two years ago. I have an AppleTV v2, and unfortunately gave my AppleTV v1 to a friend before I realized they stripped out the movie purchase feature. We also own an iPad, two iPhones, and 4 iPods, two of which are used as digital music storage for our cars.
So yes, all of my factual posts concerning Apple's shocking decision to try to hide the fact they removed significant functionality from AppleTV when they revved it, are just driven by the fact that 4 years ago I used almost no apple products. Apparently I harbor a twisted desire to hurt the company that provides me almost all of my technology of choice today, despite being an early software developer for the Mac, helping start two Macinotosh software companies in the 1980s and 1990s, and working at Apple for 2 years in the early 90s.
The truth is, Apple's products weren't so good 15 years ago so I gradually switched to Windows for professional reasons. About 4 years go I bought an iPhone, and started to wake up to the fact that Apple had done a tremendous job moving the Mac platform to the intel architecture, and was very happy to replace my crappy dells with Apple products.
But that doesn't mean I wear blinders when their product teams and marketing department makes mistakes, or does something deceptive.
