Kpi`s for prediction

Hi
I am looking around for KPI's useful for BW administrators in predictions.
Actually the scenarios where predictions could be useful to make his work ease. for eg:- what KPI's need to be predicted, weather it makes sense to predict these KPI's? and then what kind of datamining methods(for instance Regression,clustering, decission tress..) could be used for these KPI`s?

On SAP level we have some stats like nr. of changes per table... .
On DB02 you can analyze how much space a table allocates...
On database level (e.g. on ORACLE) one can analyze the nr. of INSERTS / UPDATES / DELETES per table... .
And the database statistics will not help as well since they are not updated daily...
If you really need that information you have to do something on your own.... .

Hi Anne,
It really depends on how your portal is set up. And there are 101 ways this could have been done.
I've used the Home Page Framework as an easy to define and extend framework to show applications. I've used it both for ESS and MSS, Using the HPF requires that an application has an iView in the portal.
The main point to be made here is that this is not a Web Dynpro ABAP specific question - but rather one about MSS portal implementation - you would probably be better posting a question in either one of the ESS/MSS or Portal forums.
As it is not a WDA specific question, I'd ask that you kindly close this thread and reopen in another forum.

KPI's for Telecomunications Industry (Telcos)

Hi!
In order to deliver SEM solutions to our top Managment directors, we need to define their strategic KPIs (key performance indicators).
I'm looking for samples of KPIs suitable for Telecomunications industry, particularly interested in Investment Management KPIs (better if related to Telcos), that contribute to build manager cockpits.
So, it would be helpful if you have any of the following topics:
1) KPIs for Telcos; or
2) KPIs for Investment Proyects

Leticia Can you elaborate little bit more on this...may be i can be of any help because you want to set KPI not just for Telcos..but specifically for your organization..so if you can explain further on your scenario..then it will be much easier for me to give appropriate answer.

Buisness scenario for Predictive Analysis

Hi All,
I am new to SAP Predictive Analysis. I have gone through all the algorithms present in predictive analysis client tool about when should they be used.
Now I planned to try implementing it on some business scenario.
But the problem I am facing is I am not getting any proper data suitable for PA. I am trying to take BW data into excel which will act as my data source.
Can anyone suggest me what data I should pick up from BW or if possible provide me with some sample data.

You can also found some datasets on SAP Partner Edge website with the Workbook: SAP Advanced Analytics (SAP PartnerEdge).
If you want to find more dataset, I suggest you to download datasets from UCI Machine Learning Repository to build examples. (UCI Machine Learning Repository). You can start with the dataset Statlog (German Credit Data) with a neural network or a decision tree.

Need for predictive analysis?

Folks, I have this massive 700,000 sq. ft. facility we need to deploy wireless to using Cisco access points inside the building and also outdoors.
Do you see any need to hire a contractor to do predictive analysis on this?
I mean, I will pay somebody to do the site survey once the building is in place, but I am wondering if typically pay the contractor to execute the predictive analysis instead of just waiting for the real site survey.

A "Predictive Analysis" is not going to guarantee anything. You are better off to wait until the building is build and you have stuff in there befire you hire a company to perform a site survey. Just my thought. An office, might be easier to predict, but not a manufacturing or warehouse facility.

Which R packages are required for Predictive Analysis?

I have installed SAP Predictive Analysis and have installed R - 3.0.0.
When I try to use the predict functionality in PA, i keep receiving error messages (such as the one attached).
Is it because I havent installed all of the right packages in R? If so, which packages do I need to install in R?

KPI's for SAP-Table entries.

Hi Guys,
I am eager to know whether there are some tools in SAP to check the KPI's of SAP-Tables. Let us say we are having a Table where we insert in every 3 seconds 10 entries in this Table and delete them in every 3 minutes and it can also happen that these entries also remain in the table untill the errors are rectified. It means we insert entires and once they are sucessfull a batch job deletes them and when they fail to process sucessfully then they remain in the table.
So I would like to know where there is way or tool to find out how many entries are inserted resp. how many are sucessfully deleted in this table in a day and how many entires remain failure ?

???? There is no list of 'KPIs for SD module'. KPIs differ for every company. Perhaps you should first ask your business users what THEY think the KPIs should be.
A few KPIs related to SD I have seen:
Forecasted/Budgeted vs Actual - Bookings
Forecasted/Budgeted vs Actual - Backlog
Forecasted/Budgeted vs Actual - Billings
Current backlog late to Requested date
Current backlog late to Confirmed date
Historical Requested vs Confirmed vs Actual (Shipment) date
Historical/Current Pricing and Pricing trends
Historical/Current Price vs cost
....but don't start work on ANY KPI until you get confirmation from your users that the KPIs have merit TO THEM.

6280 - Cant turn Predictive Text on

I can't work out how to turn on Predictive Text. Elsewhere on this forum people have written about selecting "options" when writing a text message but there are no options for Predictive text that I can see.
Firmware 3.60 on Vodaphone. 2nd phone due to first being faulty.
Any Ideas? Is there a hidden function somewhere? Like pressing and holding the left function key during text input turns the t9 dictionary on/off

i live in holland, and i got my 6280 from a store that specialises in their own deals with subscriptions with network providers. i don't know if such stores exist in the UK, but there are many here in holland. their offers are often much better than any of the network providers (e.g. vodafone, t-mobile,e tc.).

Predictive text non-English characters to be made ...

I just filled an enhancement request on this feature, please vote for it HERE:
Predictive text non-English characters to be made optional
The story is: while using predictive text for non-English languages (Polish in my case) the dictionary words are grammar correct which include special characters like: ą,ę,ć,ś,ż,ź,ó,ł etc. For texting (SMS) operators count these as 3 characters making a message much longer than it looks. Therefore I can tell you no one uses these characters while texting and people use EN only characters instead a,e,c,s,z,o,l... which makes using the predictive text useless for eg Polish language.
I'd like to have an option to switch using these non-en chars off for predicting text, which is grammatically not correct but in real life that's how people type.
So basically if there's an option to disable lang specific characters I would be getting an example suggestion of 'Prosze' instead of grammatically correct 'Proszę'. 'Prosze' is a 6 character word, 'Proszę' is a 5+3=8 character word. Considering a single SMS message a 300 chars, than it really makes a difference.
Simple solution would be to replace every char ą with a, ć with c, ó with o etc... in each word suggested for the ones who have this option enabled.

Multiple logins/passwords possible for one site under one profile?

I have three user log-ins at one site (personal, work, and volunteer group). Is it possible to get FF to remember all three pairs of log-ins/passwords under one profile? When I try to set the password for the second log-in, it changes the stored password for the first. It's a real pain when I use all three on a regular basis to have only one of the three stored.

when the keyboard is open hold on the happy face for a second and from the menu list that pops up turn off the switch for PREDICTIVE. That did it for me. When I start typing the firts letter of the login name now it predicts in yellow and I press space and fills it in, then I have to press the delete button to remove the space before pressing enter.

You need to look for these KPIs in different datasources...and then link them.
