KT 4V memory 1GB limit?

hi, I have the KT4V mobo (KT400 chipset) .... and I started to need more memory than 768 MB (512+256 modules)(mostly cause of video processing) ,
so I just bought a fresh "common" 1 GB DDR 400 MHZ module and inserted it in and the result is that :
I cannot get board to map more than 1 GB ... it works this way
   1024 MB = 1024 MB
   1024+256 = 1024 MB
   1024+512 = 1024 MB
   1024+768 = 1024 MB
I've tried swapping slots a bit and it doesn't works better that way =always the same = just 1 GB....
btw I set mem frequency to 266 in bios (cause i run 16.5 @ 142 ) so memory will stay 1:1 to FSB.
memtest runs fine
cpu-z and sanrda detects both chips !
i've tried to turn bank-interleave to 2-way,4-way,off, but it doesn't do anything ....
did some of you experienced similar situation ? found a solution ?
I would be glad to hear how to work it out .....
btw: sorry I just realized that this section is now just for 64bit, can moderator move it to right group please ? (socketA boards) ?

I just upgraded one of my older PCs with a 1GB DDR DIMM(PC2100/266).  The motherboard is KT3 (MS-6380E).  Three slots...doesn't matter the order or if the 1gb is the only one in...still comes up at 512MB.
I upgraded the bios...although after flashing the bios the AMI version is the same (3.31a).  Any other ideas?  This seems to be a common problem...doco clearly states 1gb DIMMs are supported.

the problem is common because a lot of people simply purchase the cheapest memory they can find.
Since there are over hundreds types of memory modules and they are using different type of DRAMs to build them, it is very possible that you have purchased a (cheap) memory module which is not compatible with your computer.  For example, there might be 3-4 different types of 128MB memory modules and some computers are very picky and can only support 1 type or 2 types of 128MB memory modules.  If  it is incompatible, then usually you will not be able to boot up your system or you will see frozen screen or system might only recognize half of the memory size.  In order to avoid this kind of situations, I strongly suggest you visit www.digi4me.com and read the fine print regarding very low compatability chipset mobos.
Cheers, and yes, you're right, manufactares should do the things the right way, but in some cases they use cheap components.

  • Does the standard Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the 13 inch Macbook pro stand up to other graphics cards with dedicated memory ( 1GB of memory for instance)?

Does the standard Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the 13 inch Macbook pro stand up to other graphics cards with dedicated memory ( 1GB of memory for instance)? I need a laptop for college and the Engineering program suggests a dedicated video card with minimum 1GB of video memory.

I have a Intel HD 4000 in my Mac Mini (late 2012), and it's okay for what I need it.
    However:
    - there were a few issues with flickering on the video output to external monitors. These were solved through a firmware update that came with OSX 10.8.3 - for the majority of the users. There is apparently still a small group of users that still has issues. You can read long threads about this here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4472316?start=0&tstart=0
    and here
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4490924?start=0&tstart=0
So for most of us (me included) this issue is solved, but it seems that certain displays / monitors don't work well with the intel HD4000, don't know if there is a pattern or a list of monitor models...
    - there was an issue with the color calibration on the HDMI output. No matter how much you tried to calibrate, the results remained unsatisfying. All light colors were crushed to white, wrong contrast, ...
You can read about this here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1482487
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4480354?start=0&tstart=0
The same firmware update improved this a little, good enough for me, but I can imagine it's not good enough if you do graphic work and need reliable colors from your monitor. On HDMI output, the thunderbolt/MDP output is fine. So it's mainly a dual monitor setup issue.
If it's for graphic work, I'd go for a Mac Book Pro with dedicated GPU !

According to the Lion webpage, you would need to add more RAM to your computer and check to make sure you have about 7GB of free hard drive space.

  • E90 - memory card limit?

    Hi!
According to Nokia the memory card limit for E90 is 4 GB. Wonder if 8 GB is possible? Anyone knows?
    /M-O

Apparently the key issue is not the size of your memory card but its speed. When I had a Transcend 2 Gb card, the system crashed often, and I had to re-installed it (*#7370#) up to six times. Then I replaced this slow card with a much faster Sandisk (same size) and the repeated crashes disappeared. Unfortunately, there is no way to know the speed of a card before you buy it. As far as I know, Nokia does not publish a list of compliant cards. And the S60 v3 operating system seems to lack internal routines to comply with slow memory response.

  • Per-process memory size limit

    Hi,
Could someone tell me if there is a per proccess memory size limit in Solaris 8 (sparc)? Specifically I'm running a 420R with 4gigs of physical memory and 8gigs of swap. I have an application that is no longer able to get memory after it grows (to what appears to be) 2042megs.
In addition, is there a maxsize for core dumps? I have all of the limits turned off with ulimit when running the application.
    Thanks!
    Gus

No mention about it on other regional sites.. but on this one its Max. 2 GB..

  • 6680 memory capacity limit?

is there a limit to the memory that i can use for the 6680? i've only ever tried using the 64mb rs-mmc that comes with the phone, but i want to upgrade. so id like to know if i can put in a 1gb rs-mmc card in it or not, and if not, then what is the highest memory that is compatible with it?
any help would be appreciated, thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    really? thanks
onre more question though, i found a rs-mmc card with the dual voltage 2.7 & 3.6 volts, but the manual says, and i quote:
"This device uses a Reduced Size Dual Voltage
    (1.8/3V) MultiMediaCard (MMC)"
soo.. does that mean i have to find a dv-rs-mmc that operates at EXACTLY 1.8/3V?
    thanks again

  • Solaris 10 issue with Memory 1GB on Intel 855GME

With 2GB memory installed on an Intel 855GME based Single Board Computer, we are experiencing extremely slow boots and installs with Solaris 10 (03/05). The boards boot on the order of 25-35 minutes. They are slow during the "configuring devices" phase. After the systems boot they seem fine. An install of Solaris 10 disk 1 takes approximately 2 1/2 hours with 2GB memory installed.
We have tested with 512 MB or 1GB SODIMMs installed and have no issues on several boards. We are trying to integrate the 2GB memory parts. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Here is updated information on this 2GB/855GME issue. Any assistance, solution, or insight is very much appreciated.
We are seeing orders of magnitude (30x) increase in access time in a segment at the top of memory when the memory installed is 2 Gigabytes and booting the Solaris operating system. This segment starts at 0x3E000000 (physical - 32 megabytes from the top) up to the 8 Megabytes 'stolen' by the video (or 24 megabytes). The huge increase in Solaris boot time is because (according to our Sun technical contact) Solaris allocates memory from the top down which means its using the slow memory to boot. The symptoms change if the Internal Graphics Device (IGD) is disabled and a PCI video card is used, OR, if the IGD is set to 'steal' all 32 Megabytes available thus consuming the 'slow memory' area.
We have opened an Intel Quad issue outlining the symptoms above (see Quad text below). They suspect MTRR setup in 'anticipation' of IGD use of the memory. However, dumps of the MTRR's via emulator both with and without the IGD are the same.
Note: other model specific registers, such as the BBL_CR_Dx registers are different with/without IGD, but as they are for accessing L2 cache, don't appear to be pertinent to this problem. This opinion could change with more study.

  • S.o.s. how to set a memory usage limit in flash cs4?

flash is using 1 200 000 k. and i cant work in this situation. i know that i can limit the usage of memory in ps cs4. but i dont know how i do it in flash. is there a way of limiting the memory usage or making flash use memory as much as this?

    Thats all my poblems!!!
I used File Monitors from Sysinternals and I see, that Flash operated with C:\xalan\xercesImpl.jar (on my system), and can't find C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\META-INF\services\org.apache.xerces.xni.parser.XMLParserConfiguration  and others...
I temporary remove xalan - well - thats all - CS4 successfully compile, test, check codes !!!
    1) Adobe CS4 used Xerces Apache (and configurated himself, without us)
    2) Use Sysinternals to detect other file-problems
On my machine Flash 8, CS3, CS4 - for adjusting project compatibility.

  • Robohelp is crashing/v. slow, does it have a memory/topic limit?

I have previously been using Robohelp 8 and have just upgraded to version 9. I found that my version 8 would often crash and most of the time I would have to force the program to close as I couldn't do anything.
I also kept on receiving an error saying out of memory when I was trying to edit topics within the project.
I just upgraded to version 9 as I also upgraded my pc to windows 7 64bit so wanted a version of robohelp that was compatible with this. I was also hoping this would help with the regular crashes. However, as I was upgrading my project, it hovered on not responding for around 15mins and I wasn't able to do anything.
My project has over 6000 topics most with multiple images in them.
I think that it is crashing as it is a 32bit software and is therefore reaching its memory limit as I have such a large number of topics. Is this correct? Does it come as a 64bit version seeing as it is compatible with 64bit (this is what I was hoping for when I upgraded)?

RoboHelp 9 is designed to work on a 64 bit system. It sounds to me as if the problem is more related to the size your project both in terms of the number of topics and the number of imaqes. I had some large projects and have found that after say four or five thousand topics, performance can tail off. A partial solution is to regularly delete the CPD file but probably the time has come to split the project and create merged help. Done properly your users will not be aware of it and you will have smaller projects.
I went through this with someone else and after they split a project with fewer topics but many thousands of images, they found things worked as expected.
I haven't seen anyone report an Out of Memory problem which makes me wonder if there is some other factor at play. You may get a Memory Exception message but that is usually related to have imported output files into RoboHelp without cleaning them up. The sign of that is red squares in the topics.
Is your project on your local drive? Have you tried doing some work on one of the supplied sample projects to see if that works OK.

  • [Cisco ACS] Memory Utilization limit

    Hello,
We have 2 CSACS 1121 with Cisco ACS 5.2.0.26.10
The primary server manages 20000+ authentications per day.
    Its memory utilization increases everyday.
    It is now at 83%
    Is there a limit?
What will happen when memory utilization reach this limit?
What can we do to purge memory utilization? (reboot, service restart...)
    Thanks for your help

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 ERG upgrade memory 1GB- 3GB only recognize 2GB

    I bought a Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 ERG with 1GB installed in first slot.
To get the system better work I wanted to expand the RAM.
As the spec's tell a maximum of 3GB should be possible.
    Thefore I added a 2GB mem-card.
I expected to see the I would have in total 3GB in use.
Now the system and BIOS tells that only 2GB is in use.
    I already checked:
    - startup with only 1GB works correct.
    - by adding the 2GB card the total value increased from 1 to 2 GB so the card is expected to be correct
       + systems works correct
    - only using the 2GB card gives problems, system doesnot recognize RAM at all.
On this forum I see some suggestions to place 2 x 2GB cards and Vista only recognizes 3GB.
Is someone aware that this may be a solution?
Does someone else have an other solution.
    Your help is very welcom.
    Thanks in advance.

Wow, thank you, what an awesome little tool!
So, I found that these 2 RAM products are compatible with my laptop:
    Part Number: CT758799
    Module Size: 2GB
    Package: 200-pin SODIMM
    Feature: DDR2 PC2-6400
    Specs: DDR2 PC2-6400 • CL=6 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-800 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64 •
    Part Number: CT699699
    Module Size: 2GB
    Package: 200-pin SODIMM
    Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300
    Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64 •
I then went to a well-known auction site and found RAM cards from the same manufacturer with exactly the same specs as above but with different Part numbers. Does it have to be the exact part number or do I stand a good chance of it working if it has the required spec? I searched for the exact part numbers and yielded 0 results.
Thanks for all your help on this.

  • Adding Memory to a White MacBook 2.16 Ghz Intel Core Duo (Memory 1Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM)

    Good afternoon from London.
I want to put 2x2GB memory into my MacBook (mid 2007) but Apple support site specifies that the maximum amount of memory for this model is 2Gb. In other words, I can only add 2X1Gb.
What would happen if I proceed?

Thanks. They say the following, which I take to mean that I am good to go:
MacBook2,1 (All) - Install up to 4.0GB total memory, uses up to 3.0GB.
Note: Although limited to physically utilizing a maximum of 3GB, there is a performance
benefit due to 128 Bit addressing when 4GB( 2GB x 2 Matched set) is installed.

  • FileStream bytesAvailable 1GB limit?

I'm working with reading very large files, around 5 GB, in an AIR application.
When I open a ~5GB file into a FileStream, bytesAvailable has a value of 1073741824 (0x40000000, exactly 1 GB). I therefore can not read past a 1GB boundary with any combination of .readBytes() and/or setting .position.
Is this an expected behavior? Is there any other way to read the full contents of files > 1GB size?
Below is a sample application. When I select my large file the trace is:

what happen when I boot the VM , While it actually need 3GB for booting - Note I don't configure Smart Paging ?

You won't be able to boot at all.
pagefile and dynamic memory only comes into play when you don't have enough memory on the host, to support the 'startup RAM' on the VM, and when the VM does a
