KT3 power/mem probs

I have a KT3 Ultra2 board and when I switch on after shutting down I get 3 beeps and the J-LED hangs on memory init, However If after shutdown I switch off at the mains and switch back on it boots no probs. I also have this problem when using S3 standby function and I need to get the thing to wake up on LAN. Has anyone else got this problem??????????

Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.

Hp dv 9500 power up probs

hi i have a dv9500 and when on battery it will power up fine and if mains is plugged in then it will just cut all power to laptop
oddly if not powered up it charges fine have read many threads on many sites but no one seems to ave this prob

You have to load the SATA ACHI drivers in order to install XP.

Power Up probs with kt6 delta fis2r

I've recently changed my mother board and given my kt6 delta fis2r to my dad. It came out of my comp in fine working condition (earthed when removing etc.) It's now in my dad's case and when it's switched on it immidiatly switches off again. The bios was updated to 5.5 but was working for weeks before being moved. Anyone have any ideas?

Just spoken to him, he's had the board out on the box connected it accross and it does the same, it's not actually getting far enough to give anything on the d-bracket. I've got a spare power supply here that isn't a Q-Tec and we're gonna try it on that first. My bro has also had probs this weekend so I'm told, he had a KT6V with the same power supply, and is now running my dads kt4 ultra. My bros PSU isn't liking my dad's comp either, so I'm now wondering if it's something to do with the 4 pin power plug on both PSU's? Still confused tho as I havn't had any probs with the board while it was on my Q-tec PSU, just lucky I guess?

when i power on my camera the red light gets on after few second it goes off. Nokia 770 power off probs - is it faulty?

Hi,
I've just had my 770 for a few days and keep bumping into a problem:
when the device 'sleeps' it can ony be rebooted and doesn't just wake up on screen/key presses.
This is causing flashdisk corruption if apps are running on suspend so i'm pretty convinced it's a fault.
If the screen cover is used then it wakes up first time but subsequently doesn't.
If it's running on external power then it wakes up ok.
An overview of the power states, transition events and indicators (eg sounds) and seep/suspend/hibernate/off modes would be most useful.
Please advise whether you think this is a fault or 'operator error' so i know whether to return it for replacement.

If the 800 was a bit cheaper I'd be tempted but it's nearly 200GBP more, isn't that much more functional and doesn't have screen protection. I really hope the 2007HE OS update comes through soon but it is a shame flash8+, skype etc can't be included.

Power connection prob

Hi all?When I plug my Zen into either the mains or my PC, a black plug appears when it's turned on instead of the light coloured one, and it never shows the charging bar. Ok, I think the problem is the power connection. If I jiggle the battery around, it detects it (the power bar appears). But it loses this quickly and inconsistently - what do I do?Message Edited by dlevene on 0-0-200706:34 AM

Hi, I cant not turn on or off my I phone 5, the power button wont work, anyone else have the same problem?

If you are within 1 year of having bought it, that should be fcovered under the manufacturer warranty and you can call apple for assistance.

Zen Micro Power Switch Prob

I have had my 6gb Zen Micro for about a month now and have been very pleased. But this morning, to my horror, when I woke up and tried to turn it on the power switch wouldn'work. My Micro still turns on if you put the battery in, and the hold feature still works, but when I shift the switch to the left to turn it on or off nothing happens. I haven't droppped it once or messed with anything in it. I don't know what to do. Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone have any advice on something to try or what to do?

My Zen Micro has recently developed the same problem. I contacted Support, and they have informed me that I have to pay a $25 fee to get it fixed, and that amount could grow based on the cost of repairs. Quite frankly, I'm upset. This is twice that the player has failed. I RMA'd the first due to a headphone jack problem (which was caused by faulty wiring, which Creative will refuse to admit). This second player has a similar issue. The electronic contacts must not be built/soldered correctly. I will not be recomending this player to anyone I care about, as Creative has proven to have terrible support and exquisitely terrible design. I will not be purchasing another Creative product, due to my lack of confidence in this player. Creative has not even made an attempt to solve my problem, only directing me to the self-guided website that merely showed how unresponsi've their support really is. They have now supplied me with RMA information for my refurbished player, to send into them. I will not likely send this player in. Instead, I'll go peddle the piece of junk off on Ebay, and take the money and put it towards a player that's been proven to be more reliable than Creative's Zen series - an iPod. I know that word is almost a profanity in these forums, but Creative hasn't left me much of a choice. Goodbye Creative, I hope you won't miss my money. As much as I don't like to support Apple, I'm going to now. So enjoy your angered and frustrated Zen users who you don't seem to want to serve. Maybe once you start making quality products again, I might consider buying in.

I bought another stick of Twinmos pc 3200 512 meg , M2Q8J16A-TT , i have 2x of the same modell nr BUT 1 + year appart in manifacturing ,
now both stick sticks while solo inserted in dimm slot 1 , but as soon i got 1-3 , 1-2 , 2-3 , solo 2 or solo 3 the comp wont boott even into bois just beeps every sec.
Any ideas of troubble shooting?

4472 DSA board and Proximity probe

I am trying to read output from the proximity probe using the PCI 4472 DSA board. For the grounded source(proximity probe) the connection given in the 4472 user manual(Page 2-7) is a pseudo-differential one.
The proximity probe(which i am sure is the industry norm) needs -24V power supply, so the +24V power supply is INVERTED to power the probe. The +24V lead become the COMMON and the GROUND lead becomes -24V.
The signal wire goes from 0 to -20V (Range) with respect to the COMMON(24V higher than the TRUE GROUND, since the power supply was inverted and +24V lead of the supply became COMMON for the probe).
According to the specs(signal ground and 4472 ground should not have potential diff. of more than 2.5V) and the pseudo-diff
erential configration I think it will blow the board as the 24V across the 50 ohm resistor will result in 0.5A of current.
Please help. Is there anyway out of this problem.

Thanks for your answer Dan, one issue has certainly been taken care of, what is bothering me now is that the potential difference of 24V between the signal and board ground might hurt the board, NI specifies a max limit of 2.5V and certainly NI cannot make a board which is not compatible with the proximity probe(-24V power supply norm), since this board is meant to be used with proximity probes, accelerometers etc.

CPU NB overclock

:noidea:I am having trouble getting my CPU NB to clock at 2600. It will run fine, however...........my pc will NOT cold start with these clocks. I have set the clocks like this and was able to REstart, and run Win7 64 bit just fine. Rock solid stable...........except for cold boot. It will just hang at a black screen from the start. ANY advice is welcome. If you need further info on my current settings, let me know.

No v checkpoints. Did the dram volt change.....all the way to 1.65....does the same thing. I do not think this is dram volt or mem prob. Even at 2T and 1333 speed..... still no cold boot. Think it might be CPU/NB voltage or mobo chipset volts. If I have the system already booted up, and restart, enter bios, change cpu/nb to 13x (2600 Mhz) and reboot, the sys is fine. From a cold (power OFF state) the pc turns on (fans,and drives running) but no boot, no display, no post beep. BTW thanks for the help (even though you have verry limited NEW AMD experience) Mayhaps you might pass this thread along to a friend who could be of more assistance to us?

MSI Boards incompatible with 3COM 3CR990SVR97

So after retiring my KT3 Ultra2 i'm now running the KT6 Delta and i wanted to use my High End Server NIC but i have extreme bootup probs when this card is installed. Tested in KT3 U2, KT3V and KT6 Delta the System wont start or need a long time until monitor goes active and shows boot screen. But in ABIT BE6 and EPOX 8K5A2+ the NIC works properly and i have two cards and the prob remains with both of them. It would be nice if anyone who can get this NIC could test if the problem is MSI related, i can remember the time where ASUS graphicscards wont work with AGP4x on MSI Boards :D
p.s. if system is running the card works without any problems and restarts are normal but if power is cut see above :O

The prob has nothing to do with drivers.
Problem is before bios Init all LED's on Front of the Tower are blinking and D-Bracket shows early Chipset ... then after a minute the PC resets itself and then it runs without probs. I can restart the whole system and it will run without these boot errors but if i disconnect the powercord the same procedure starts again, but the NIC works without probs i can use LAN, DSL or whatever but i don't want to wait a minute until the system does anything .
on KT6 and KT3 the same prob.
It would be great if someone were able to organize such a NIC and could test it on another MSI Board.

Best Method Of Import For Future Preservation

I would like to import all my home movies through iMovie to an external hard drive, but am wondering if that is the best method to ensure that I will always be able to use/access them in the years to come. A couple of questions:
**Does iMovie still preserve and save to the external drive the original format the movie was recorded in? Does it switch it to something that only iMovie can recognize and find?
**What if iMovie quits being made in 10 years or if I switch to a different editing program down the road? Will I still be able to use/access my movies?
**Would it be better to skip going through iMovie and just copy the movies/files directly to the external drive?

in iMHD≤6: yes, even after editing, the unaltered original video is kept untouched; in iM08 answer is more complicated: the Events store the original data, but it is unable to export without altering it.. And: mpeg2 and AVCHD files get automatically converted.. but into a lossless codec ..

very hard to tell; my experience: cross-app/cross-platform, accessability is .. small. compare with 'opening iMHD6 project with iM08' , or 'transfer iM08 to FCE' .... and those are actual apps from one manufacturer..

that's why I'm in the process of decision making come back to tape (HDV) - I'm storing about an terabyte of my son's life on video in a simple shoebox.. no copying, backup, no transfer.. as long as I get some service which is able to playback that worlwide standard, I can watch and use those videos..
I often tell that situation: me being on Cuba, running out of 'storage space' ... 7$ and got a new tape, 60min.. imagine that with a fancy HDDcorder.. you need additionally in your travel luggage your Mac, power brick, prob. an ext. harddrive, just for 'emtpying' your camcorder .. honestly: not on MY vacations/my hotel rooms, tents.. ..
and don't tell me '17h recording time' .. IF HiDef camcorder, than FullHD.. which is actually a max. of 3h per device.. and I do record more than 3h on a 2 weeks journey..

Nano repair procedure from collection..

OK, so my Nano has been picked up and sent for repair. (Had a very interesting chat with the courier about ipods)
He said the procedure is usually quick and has a turnaroun dof 4-5 days.
A couple more qustions if I may-
1, will my returned ipod be boxed in a new nano box, with earphones, Im intrigued. I doubt it, but I wonder.
2, will i be contacted whilst its in for repair, or will it be sent striahgt back to me.
The ocurier said its doubtful I will have to pay as its under warranty, and it only goes to the Netherlands.
I also spoke with Apple tech support this AM, and the Apple sales team who said that as long as the unit is under 12 months, an Apple store will accept it back and re-issue an new unit.
I wasnt aware of this, as Id have returned it back to the sore otherwise.

no. i had been having trouble with the nano resetting itself/crashing basically since i had it, about 1 in times id connect it, it would just restore and id lose everything.
i thought it was just me trying to copy over too many songs.
so i called apple a few times, each time, it was format it, and you'll be alright. most of the time it worked for a while.
then i got sick of it crashing so i called techsupport and the advisor said it sounds like a HD/Mem, prob. We'll check it out, you have to send it in. Confirmed my address and that was it. Courier arrives to pick it up today!
Quite possibly they dont request any kind of shipping payment, as i certainly didnt give any cc details.
Ive not been totally happy with the nano since i had it, but if i receive one that doesnt have the same problem, and a better battery life,i wont hear a bad word said against them!
