KT3 Ultra-2, Blank Screen then Freeze?!

Ok, this happend to me last night, and am clueless
I was playing CS for 1 hr, then suddenly screen went black, no sound, no response. To me my PC frooze, then i hit the reset button.  But then i got a CMOS Invalid Config Error, all the info was cleared?
So i re-entered the BIOS SEtup values again, then while checking some info on a webpage, BANG, it happened again, Blank screen, etc etc etc...What is wrong?
I have DEER 350 Watts psu, 256 Kingston DDR266 CAS2 Module, XP1600+ (not oced) and normal BIOS Defaults (after what happened) and an ATI Radeon 8500LE, and KT3 Ultra-2 Bios v5.6, Windows XP SP1
Thanks in advance  ;(

Hi,
First check your CPU-cooler, if it's mounted wrong the board will shutdown to prevent damage to the CPU....
Check if the JBAT jumper is set to position 1-2 to safe the data....
Please read the trouble shooting guide entirely....it might just solve your problem...

  • KT3 Ultra 2 -- blank screen

I just finished building my machine:
    KT3 ultra 2 KT333
    XP 1800
    Samsung 512MB PC2700
    ATI Radeon 7500
    Maxtor diamondmax plus ATA133 7200
    The rest is basic
    Problem:
I turn on the machine and nothing.  I see nothing on the screen, it says no signal.  I have tried different video cards and still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?  Need HELP!!!

I apologize for not being as clear as can be.  Let me try again.
I have an antec 430 watt case that I have installed all my equipment in.  The system is brand new and no software has been installed on it.  The first time I tried starting the system it did nothing, my monitor said no signal.  After reading the forum and posting this message I went back and pulled the battery out of the motherboard and reinstalled it.
After the battery was reinstalled and the machine was turned on, I was able to see the initial screen giving my the system information and telling me to make changes to the bios because something was not right.  I went into the bios and change the fsb to 133 (this was the only change I made) and escaped out.  At this point nothing happened, blank screen.  I tried rebooting this, but nothing.  So I did the battery thing again, and tried running it at whatever it started at and nothing.
There was one time that I got it to start and made it to the os install screen of xp, however, it locked up and nothing happened.
This is where I am at and could use any help.

  • Find my friends app just opens with a blank screen then shuts back down! HELP?

Find my friends App when opened has a blank screen then shuts back down. It's only recently happened and now won't work. Please help

Having the same problem. Just started today. Anyone have an idea why Find My Friends app stopped working?

  • My macbook pro keeps flashing green lines across the screen then freezing, can anyone help?

Back in December my macbook started doing this thing quite regularly where it would flash black or green lines all across the screen, for maybe half a second, then the screen would freeze, so I would power it down manually then back on again. I took it into a store and paid a lot of money for them to "fix" it, but when I got it back it was still doing it. I just recently took it in to a different store and the guy said he couldn't reproduce the problem, but replaced the RAM and gave it back to me. Within a day of having it back the same thing happened, twice. At this point I'm not sure what to do, the money I spent on "fixing" it could almost have bought me a new one. The most recent time I shut it off, when it was turning back on it stopped on the grey screen with the apple and started making a continuous beeping sound, which I took a video of. Does anybody know why any of this is happening??

Hi Were you using the apple store for the repairs you had done? As to the point of taking in to a store to have it repaired and getting it back with the same problem. It should have been taken back to the same store as they have to stand behind what they do. You do not say what they repaired. The store replacing ram without knowing what the problem is ,is questionable. If you are going to change ram for the original apple installed ram, you need to make sure it is compatible with your MBP. One of the best sources for this is  Macsales.com. As to the Beeping sounds here is a link on it. You do not say if this is one continuing beep or more than one repeating itself.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768

  • Blank Screen or Freeze???

Bought new mac late last year, it has been OK, until few weeks ago. My Mac went blank itself for no reason but not fully shut down as I can see full grey on screen background but nothing on it. I could see that the screen is still on but no mouse pointer on screen nor the keyboard won't functionally at all. I have to press and hold off button for while to turn it off then turn it back on. It happens few times now. Does anyone know how to solve this problem.

I was having the blank screen on wake up problem and had changed my power management settings, go ahead and check out http://www.unofficialmac.com/post/27756671.

  • Mail Blank Screen, Then Quits

Help!  I attempted to send an email that apparently was too large (pics). Now, every time I go into the mail app, the screen is blank, and after a few seconds, returns to my home screen.  I've done the soft & hard reboot many times.  I've also deleted and recreated the email accounts.  I have 2 email accounts on my iPad & I even deleted the one I was not using at the time I tried to send the large email.
Short of a full factory reset, any other suggestions? Greatly appreciated!

Thanks Brian, for your quick response. I've tried the hard re-boot (Power + Home Button) a few times, with no luck fixing the blank screen. I deleted all email accounts, tried the hard reboot, then re-added my aol email account. Interestingly, after this, my mail icon correctly shows that I have 2 new emails (so my iPad is "seeing" my aol email account). But I still get a mail blank screen when I open the iPad mail app, and it still quits after a few seconds.

  • IPad mail app displays blank screen, then crashes

When I go to my aPad mail app, there is just a blank screen, After a few seconds, the app crashes. I can't delete the app because it appears to be "built in". my mail works fine on MacBook Pro and Nook.

    Hi A436,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
If you only see a blank screen in Mail, and then the app quits, try removing and re-adding your mail accounts from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
You can use these steps from Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
If the Mail app still quits unexpectedly after this step, you may need to back up your iPad and restore the iOS software:

  • Itunes app brings up blank screen then closes

Has anyone had the problem that when you open up itunes on your phone that you get a blank screen and then it closes?

Ok.. Try to do an archive and install while retaining your home folder, user settings and files. This will install a fresh new Leopard on your system. Then, delete previous system folder(this was your bad system). It sounds like something to do with the Leopard config files or something.
But, try an archive and install and then report back.

  • Blank screen, iMac freeze with Bip, Bip, Bip alarm!!!

My Intel Core i3 Mac Os 10.6.8 is on all day long. It happen 3 time, in the midle of the night, my screen is blank and the iMac does a bip 3 time in a roll. After a few seconds, I heard the bip, bip, bip again and again. I try to type any keys on the keyboards, but nothing is happenning. the imac is freeze. They only way to stop the bip, bip, bip is to press the power button at the back of the screen.
Mac Os is up to date.
Each time, I run repair disk permission after I restart the iMac.
Can you please explaine what is going on?
    Thank you,
    Jean

Try the repair method from this Apple Doc: FSCK - File System Check
To start up in single-user mode
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Immediately after the startup sound, press and hold both the Command (⌘) and "s" keys on your keyboard. The computer will display a series of text messages, at which time you may release these keys.   When the computer has started up, it will display a command line prompt (#). The computer is now in single-user mode.
How to Run the File System Check from the Command Line Once you have reached a command line, follow these steps to use fsck:
    1. At the prompt, type: fsck -fy (NOTE: there is a space between the k and the “-”) The fsck utility will go through five "phases" and then return information about the disk's utilization and fragmentation. Once the check is finished, if no issue is found, you should see "** The volume  appears to be OK."   If fsck alters, repairs, or fixes anything, it will display the message:
****** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****
2 - IMPORTANT: If this message appears, repeat the "fsck -fy" command until this message no longer appears. It is not unusual for your computer to require several "passes" of fsck, because first-pass repairs may uncover additional errors. Run it until you get two consecutive times with an "OK" result.
    3. When fsck reports that no problems were found, type: reboot
    4. Press Return.
If you can get into Single User Mode and run the file system check it might be able to fix the damage to the system that appears to have occurred.  Worth a try.

  • My ipad gets a black bar over part of the screen then freezes up, please help

Just today my 16gb ipad 2 ,bought in December 2011, started to get a black bar over part of the screen.  Sometimes 3/4 of the screen sometimes 1/4 then it freezes up and will not do anything.  If I try to reboot it I get a faint backlit only.  Any help would be appreciated!

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud

  • Boot to Platinum splash screen then freeze

I'm suspecting the MB has gone south, but would like some assurances that I am on the right track and that I haven't missed something obvious.
    The system is fairly generic:
Antec Sonata Case w/stock 380W PW
    MSI MB
    A64 3200+  Stock HS&fan
    512Mb * 2   OZC RAM
    CDRW, DVD-rom
WD 120 SATA HD,  WD 40GB ATA
    SCSI card
    ATI 9800 Pro
Systems been running fine since July, today, needed to reboot after installing a printer driver and it froze on the reboot.
Before I cleared the BIOS it would come up with the BIOS version, and the processor description and then halt.  After clearing the BIOS, it comes up with the Platinum splash screen and halts there.  All the fans are going including the PS.
There is no response from the kybd, as in numlock/scrlock/capslock  don't respond (no lights on the kybd.)
I've tried the following in steps and trying to boot between each change:
     - reset BIOS
     - swapped out my memory sticks
     - disconnected the optical drives
     - disconnected the HDs, one at a time
     - removed the SCSI card
Have I thought of everything that I could try?  Does it sound like the MB is dead or is there a chance it could be the CPU? or something else?
    Thanks in advance,
    Zen.

    Contribute with some thoughts :
The board post bios logo , aka ' cpu works , gfx works . If not all would be dead.
    But it freeze :
This can be memory or memory slots e.g vdimm ref voltage to dimm slots duff(not in spec)
It can be parity check that bios post does on the memory.
It can be halt caused by "halt on all but keyboard" i.e PS2 , mouse , fdc controller .
When this cmos reset was done , was the board totally isolated , i.e
all devices removed including memory , gfx , cpu , drives , pci cards .
(if it's a bitch leave the cpu as the only item mounted)
I recommend clearing the motherboards cmos while it is totally bearbone
and also with the 20pin/4pin power connertors removed .
After it is cleared just connect 20pin/4pin power + cpu + speaker to it and the powerswitch (no mem , no gfx , no drives , no kb , no mouse ).
Fire up , and listen to the beep code , compare it to award beeps that its correct.
Shut down and add the mem .
Fire up , and listen to beep code , compare it to award beeps that its correct.
Shut down and add the gfx .
Fire up , and listen to beep code , compare it to award beeps that its correct.
Shut down and add the keyboard .
Fire up , and listen to beep code , compare it to award beeps that its correct.
Continue adding one item after the other .
    Codes:
    Repeating High/Low (siren):
CPU Either the CPU is not seated properly or the CPU is damaged. May also be due to excess heat. Check the CPU fan or BIOS settings for proper fan speed.
    Repeating (endless loop) :
Memory error Check for improperly seated or missing memory.
    1long, 3short :
No video card or bad video RAM Reseat or replace the video card.
    1long, 2 short :
Video adapter found but error .
Either video adapter is bad or is not seated properly.
    ..  , no luck here my guess is mobo gone bad .(if you are sure PSU still is delivering all voltages +3.3 ,+5 ,+12 , 5vsb , -5v , -12v and the PS_ON + pwr_good circuit/logic works)
