I have a problem with my MSI KT3 Ultra2-C Mainboard.
I use Creative Live Player Soundcard.I don't know
how disable RealTec Onboard sound.I read the mainboard's manual but didn't find anything about it.

How do I disable onboard sound on a KT4 Ultra? I have Bouston Acoustic (sold by gateway) speakers that require Direct Digital Output to work and it does not seem to be supported by c-media. So I have to install my soundblaster Live! Can anyone help me either disable on-board sound or get the on-board to support Direct Digital output?

you can uninstall the drivers for the onborad sound. To reinstall your sound blaster remove it from Device Manager and restart your machine and follow the makers instructions, either point the system to the drivers or use the installer, which ever they recommend.

How to disable onboard video on KM4M-L?

Does anybody know how to disable the onboard video card of the KM4M-L? I tried just plugging in another AGP card, but it doesn't work. I've gone through the bios, but can't find any reference to the onbard video.
Another question I have is which card is faster, the onboard video or my old Viper V770 with 32MBs of ram (I know, it's ancient!)

The viper but not by much. The o/b AGP is disabled automaticly but your problem is your board only supports AGPx4/1.5v cards.

Make sure you uninstall any realtek sound drivers before you install the Audigy 2 ZS. You may want to run driver cleaner to ensure you eliminate the Realtek audio completely. Also, be sure you're not running an AV when you install the Creative drivers and software.

Will not boot after disabling onboard sound

I am trying to install an SB Audigy2 ZS sound card but each time I disable the onboard sound card, I cannot boot my system. It will not boot to CD either. I have tried disabling with SB Audigy2 ZS card installed and without the card installed. I am using the third PCI slot since the video card uses the first slot's space.
I tried it without 2 of my hard drives in case I was running low on power, but still will not boot.
Any ideas?

i have the newer mobo and also have audigy zs it install just right for me but i have it in pci slot 4 (the last one on my mobo) your manual of your mobo will tell you which pci share the same irq ..but when i had your version of mobo i still had it in slot 4 so try pci 4 or 5 to see if that resolves your problem it souds like your video card and sound card are tying to share the same irq which is a big no no

Disabling onboard sound on K8T Neo?

I'm probably being really stupid here but I just can't seem to find the BIOS setting to disable the onboard sound. Can't find it on any of the BIOS pages, can't find it in the manual and there doesn't seem to be a dipswitch on the board itself.

Should I disable onboard sound when..

Should I disable the onboard audio and stuff when I install the X-Fi. I installed my X-Fi some time ago and have never had any hardware problems with it, however recently I was in the BIOS options area (F2 at the splashscreen I think) and saw the option for disable onboard audio. Will it improve my system if I do disable it or will it require a reinstall of my soundcards driver and stuff. Any response is appreciated.

[Athlon64] Unable to disable onboard sound

I had upgraded my bios (a good while ago the version escapes me at the moment) to fix the problem I had been having with my 2 512 mb sticks of ram running at slower speeds or crashing the system and I just noticed that a setting to turn off onboard sound is missing (or I just can't find it).

If you have installed Bios version 2.2 then try dropping back to 2.0. 2.2 has some serious issues that have not been addressed as yet.

I have the K7 N2 board and disabled on board sound in the bios to use my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Sound seems to work fine in Windows Xp and the few games I have installed so far. My problem is with UT2003. When I try to launch the game I get the splash screen then it simply goes away. When I checked the system folder and looked at the debug log it shows the following.

I am able to run UT in safe mode without sound. I yanked my Santa Cruz card and uninstalled the drivers and tried with on board but still had the same problem. Since disabling the sound allows me to play, it has to do something with either the on board or my card or some sort of incompatibility between the two. Anyone know of any issues? On a side note. If I was to wipe my drive and use the on board is the quality of the sound as good as using a separate card? Any help would be appreciated.

Just a follow up...I figured I could spend countless hours trying to figure out why UT wouldn'l load or spend 3 hours wiping the disk and reinstalling software. The latter proved to be worth it. My preference would have been not to install any of the audio drivers at all, but since they are bundled with the system drivers there is really no choice. The one thing I did differently was not to install the live drivers from the disk that came with my board but rather update to the newer Nforce 2 system driver dated 2/25/2003.
So the install went Xp Pro, Sp1, Video drivers, newest system drivers, disable on board sound in bios, Santa Cruz drivers then UT2003 and the game loads fine. I still get the message about the game port not having enough resources but that can be ironed out.
Hopefully this information can help someone else out who might experience conflicts going forward.
A side note..I find that with two network cards (3Com and on board) that Xp will spend about three mintues after it loads non responsive as it looks for the other network connection. Running the network wizard on box 1 connected to the internet and creating the network disk and running it on the other machine allowing the on board card to see the network and eliminates the painful lull after Xp load to the time I can do anything.

I would need another i815E board to see if there is supposed to be a change at all.
My guess is that since there is no 3D engine in the integrated VGA core you need very little memory bandwidth to run it:
1024*768 @ 85 FPS 24bit = 1024*768*85*4=255MB/S
The RAM is capable of 1066MB/S, but the PIII CPU never uses that anyway so there is no bandwidth conflict between the CPU and VGA.

Everything is running fine with Vista 64 installed. I know that when I install a PCIE vid card it should override the onboard but it is not doing so. When I go into device manager the GTX260 I have installed in the dark blue PCIE slot (closet to CPU) does not show up at all.
Under periphials in the BIOS the only option I see is "primary VGA" or something similar and it gives me 2 options. PCI or PCIE. I have PCIE selected. Should I update the BIOS to see if it will add another BIOS option? (I am scared to mess with the BIOS)
Or can I just install the Nvidia drivers and see what happens? Maybe take out the GTX260 and put it back in and reboot??
Sorry for all the silly questions but this is my first attempt at building my own PC and it has gone great so far but I am at a loss now.

I am a novice at this as well so am I correct in assuming that it is ok to have an Nvidia card in the PCIE slot even though the onboard video is ATI based??

Yes I have the monitor hooked up to the GTX260 connection and I am getting a picture fine even though the 260 is not showing up in the device manager. It shows "standard VGA adaptor" in the device manager. That is why I was going to just install the latest drivers for the 260 and see what happens.
