KT3 Ultra2 doesn't switch off

When I press on/off button computer doesn't switch off and reboot. I tried another memory, cpu and PSU, but with the same result. I measured voltage 12V, it falls down for a moment, but then rise again. This doesn't depend of Windows98 or DOS, because I had the same effect without hard disk.

Same problem for me too, but it's somewhat erratic. Sometimes it will shutdown, other times it will 'reboot' (It's not a normal reboot. You can hear the hard drives click into their shutdown state for about 0.25 seconds, then the whole system powers back on again).
I thought it must be to do with some kind of wakeup event, but nothing that I tried seem to change it. I just accept the fact now that when I say 'Shut Down', I have to sit by my computer until it either shuts down, or reboots itself (At which point I press the power button and it shuts off).
Stupid thing :\
I'm using an Enermax 410w PSU - I doubt that's the problem.

Recently updated 5G iPod to 1.2 doesn't switch off

Yesterday I'd updated my 5G 60GB iPod with the new iPod update from iTunes 7. Now, it doesn't switch off anymore, even if I make a hard reset. I also tried restoring it from iTunes and the problem stays. Neither can I get into diagnostic mode.

Ipod doesn't switch off on its own

Hello,
I have a black Ipod 60GB and it doesn't switch off on its own. I know that the old Ipods will switch off on their own if you are not using it for more than a couple of minutes. So I thought the 5th generation would do that as well but mine doesn't and it's really annoying. Does anyone know if 5th generation Ipod should do that? And if yes, in which part of the menu can I set that option?

The iPod will turn off after 1 minute if there is a song on pause, or if there is nothng playing.

My MSI KT3-ULTRA2 doesn't work with my CPU cooler!!
I've got an MSI KT3-ULTRA2 mainbord, and I have a NEOLEC VENEZIA TB Cooler. But when I attach my NEOLEC cooler and I start the machine, the machine shuts down within a couple of seconds, and I get nothing to see on my screen. The weird thing is when I turn the PC on, the cooler starts rotating so it can't be broke, but then the pc shuts down i a couple of secs. So pleezze anybody help me!!
The weird thing is that I also have a coolermaster cooler, and that one works fine. But the problem is that this coolermaster is designed for AMD XP 1900+, and I ahve an AMD XP 2200+ that's why I bought the Neolec Venezia TB cooler.

one easy thing to watch for... see if the heatsink or fan is in contact with any part of the motherboard, like... if it is too big and touches something that normally wouldn't be in contact with a fan or heatsink. If so, it could be shorting it.

"Not desturb" mode (Moon sign in Front of Time) doesn't Switch Off on set off time since 2013.
Same Problem with iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Both iOS 6.0.2

Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off.

I made some tests and this issue will fix itself on Sunday January 6, 2013. It will happen the first few days of January 2014 (until Sunday January 5, 2014) if the bug is not fixed. Most first few days of most years seem to have this bug. The bugs starts on January 1st (based on the From time under Scheduled) and is usually fixed on the first Sunday of the year (except if the first day of the year is a Sunday, then it is fixed on the second Sunday). Years preceding years where the first day is a Sunday are not affected by the bug.
Let's check the next few years, this is the pattern :
2013 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 6
2014 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 5
2015 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 4
2016 : Issue not happening even though first day is a Friday
2017 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 8 (Jan 1st is also a Sunday)
2018 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 7
2019 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 6
2020 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 5
2021 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 3
2022 : Issue not happening even though first day is a Saturday
2023 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 8 (Jan 1st is also a Sunday)
2024 : Issue fixed on Sunday Jan 7
Etc...
The same pattern happens if you go back in time as well.
Note : If DND is scheduled before midnight, then the issue and the fix (see above) are delayed one day since it's based on the From time under Scheduled.

KT3 Ultra2/Doesn't Bood...

KT3 Ultra2(MSI6380E Ver1.0) doesn't boot...
It powers up, but doesn't beep.
D-Bracket doesn't change right after powered system on.
D-Bracket shows 1-2(top2)are red, 3-4(bottom2)are green. However, it shows like this from very beginning, and doesn't change. ;(
I've used this system for 5 months and had no problem. It has worked very fine. But suddenly.... 8o
Does anybody has any ideas? OR is there any warranty? I contacted reseller, but they said I HAVE TO contact MSI to solve this problem.

I tried several things to solve this problem.
Suspected shortage
- re-assembled PC in/out of the pc case = didn't work
Suspected CPU
- replaced with another CPU = didn't work
both of them work fine on the other board
- re-assembled for both CPU in/out of the case = didn't work
Suspected Memory
- replace with another memory = didn't work
- re-assembled for all 4 combination of CPU & Memory in/out of the case = didn't work
both memory work fine on the other board...
Tried
- the reset switch in reset position a whole night = didn't work
- unplug the cell a whole night, and re-assemble PC = didn't work
I found the company which flash bios chip for $5 or replace chip for $20. I'm thinking to replace... or Should I talk with reseller??

Xfce - Display doesn't switch off after specified period of time.

I have strange problem with power manager. When I set switch display off when computer is in-active it sometimes work and sometimes not. I've noticed that it works for some period of time right after it was set( eg. I set it to switch display off after 5 minutes, so it will work once).
Problem started to appear after I installed xscreensaver. I disabled power managing from xscreensaver but it didn't helped.
Any ideas what it might be, or where should I look for reson?

I had this problem before and after installing xscreensaver. In the end I disabled monitor contol in power manager (and left power manager to manage the hard drive) and enabled monitor control in xscreensaver. It works fine for me. I'm using a macbook 7,1 with Arch 3.15.5-2 but have had my set up like this for a while now.

Proximity sensor doesn't switch off - Lumia 920

Hi, I hope someone can help me here. I've got a huge problem with my brand new Lumia 920.
When I make a phone call, or accept a phone call, it seems my phone locks the screen completely, as if I had it next to my ear (i.e. the proximity sensor), even when I don't have it anywhere near my head.
I cannot end a phone call, or switch to loudspeaker etc. - nothing. It is highly annoying, and I have no idea how to fix it.
I have done a soft reset, but to no avail.
I had a bluetooth headset connected earlier in the day, and then disconnected it. This phenomenon did not occur prior to using the bluetooth headset. No idea if this can have anything to do with it, but it seems a strange coincidence.

I have exactly the same problem! I am kind of happy, I am not the only one with this problem!
First thing I did was factory resetting the phone. Of course this wasn't the issue.
Then I thought that my proximity sensor isn't working at all - but then I started testing it. I went into a room without a light and then went back to a room with a light and display automatically adjusted the brightness. So the sensor works.
Then I stared a phone call (screen become black) and then I put the phone just few centimeters from a light bulb and the display adjusted brightness and I could see all normally (like it should work if you don't put it near you head). Can you try this and tell me if you get same result?
I would conclude that sensor should be somehow trimmed, but I sure don't know how to do that.

New iMac doesn't switch off!

just bought a new imac 3 days back. When I shut it down last night it didn't shut down for a really long time. Today I needed to restart it and it wouldn't shut down. The the desktop screen with a 'waiting' icon that goes round and round kept flashing for more than an hour. I had to physically shut it down on both occasions. Is there a problem? I am new to iMac having used PC's all this time.

Yes, there is a problem, but if you just bought your iMac 3 days ago, the classic way to go is to call for some phone troubleshooting help.
Follow the instructions they are going to give you,
warranty covers all so it's free.
I guess after 3 days there is nothing yet unsaved that you would be sorry to lose, so,
have you tried reinstalling Mac OS X yet?
Reinstalling is not at all the way troubleshooting Mac OS X should go, still I was asking because if problem persists even after a reinstall, it means it could very well be a Memory (RAM) problem as well>
