KT4 (6395) burned my ti200 and doesnt work with the 9700

I bought a msi kt4 a week ago, formatted my hd, plugged in the new radeon 9700 and there was no picture...and yes..I plugged the power for the 9700. Next I plugged in my g3 ti200 in order to wait for a new bios release that could fix the 9700 problem and the board burned my geforce....something I could smell in the whole room straight away.
I am an msi fan so I swapped the kt4 for a kt3ultra2 which is working excellent but without the agp x8 which I believe is overrated anyway.
Be carefull with those kt4´s, my vendor tested the returned kt4 with a pci card and told me the voltage to the agp port was way too high...
well done MSI....you ruined a perfectly good g3
but on the other hand I love my new kt3ultra2 so I aint going to complain much, the one complaining is my best friend...I was going to give him the geforce.
PS: The 9700 works wonderfully well with the kt3ultra2.

Did you make a fresh OS install to make the ATI Radeon 9700 work? I'm having problems with my system, I have the same motherboard and video card you have. When I boot my computer up everything looks fine, I can see the Windows XP Pro logo. After the logo I get a blank screen. Could you tell me what procedure you followed to make it work?

Eigentlich wollte ich gerne den I pod 60GB Video, 5. Generation erwerben, um Fotos auf meiner Reise per Camera Connector darauf abzusichern. Obwohl die Kompatibilität mit meiner Canon EOS 20D zuoberst bei der Apple Site bei der Benutzung des Camera Connectors aufgelistet ist, klappte der Fotoimport beim Ausprobieren in ZWEI Apple Stores mit fachkundiger Hilfe nicht.
Darauf versuchte ich Hilfe von dem Apple Care Team per Telefon zu kriegen. Sie versuchten das Problem immer wieder an einem anderen Mitarbeiter weiterzureichen. Nach der fünften Verbindung ohne Hilfe hatte ich definitiv genug!
Und nun poste ich hier in diesem Forum, weil ich auf der Support Site keine Mailadresse gefunden habe und hoffe, dass jemand Deutsch versteht und mir vielleicht helfen könnte!
Ich bin treuer Apple User, hatte einen G4 und nun einen G5 & Apple Display, haben den sogenannten „Apple Care Protection“ Plan, kurz also ein treuer Apple-Kunde, aber werde trotzdem im Stich gelassen! Zudem ist die Werbung auf der Apple Site schlicht weg gelogen und irreführend, da auf dem neuen Ipod nicht einfach Fotos abgespeichert werden können und die Canon EOS 20 D, die laut der Apple Site kompatibel ist, schlicht weg nicht mit dem Camera Connector funktioniert!
Meine Fragen: Bringt Apple ein Update auf den Markt, dass ich die Canon EOS 20 D an den Ipod 5. Generation per Camera Connector (wie geworben!) anschliessen und Fotos importieren kann?
Weiss jemand eine Support Mailadresse, an die ich meine Fragen schreiben kann?
Ich bin für eure Hilfe dankbar und erwarte nun auch von Apple fachkundige Hilfe (beziehungsweise eine Stellungsnahme ...).

The iPod Camera Connector requires a Fifth Generation iPod, iPod photo (also known as iPod with color display) and a supported camera or media reader. Other iPods, including iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod (Click Wheel), and iPod shuffle, are not supported with the iPod Camera Connector.

Will my printer and scanner work with the new intel mac?

My first post.. so I hope i am in the right place! (was in wrong place last attempt!)
I want to buy the new intel...but I would like to know for sure if it will work with my scanner and printer.
Printer is Epson Stylus Photo 2100 and the scanner is Microtek ScanMaker 4900.
I have emailed both Epson and Microtek... phoned Epson.. and I still do not know the answer.
The responses were
"At this point in time with have been given no information on whether our printer drivers will work or not....".
"Yes it will work with OSX 10.4"
"As you know this new intel chip has just hit the market. This particular configuration is in the alpha stage of testing. As of now there has not been any reports or customer correspondence of any concerns."
I have been scanning these posts and it seems that only the operating system is relevant? If anyone could help I would appreciate it. I am finally able to replace my old, old, well loved G4 but am worried I will make the wrong decision.

Thanks all for the helpful comments. I am getting closer to going out and buying the intel. As for the Canon printer... its not really an option for me, since the Epson cost me more than the computer will! But I will keep it in mind for the future. And do you think this applies to digital cameras as well Tomzo? I have been considering buying my first digital.. and thought the pentax might be best, since it apparently can use the lenses from my film camera.

Will any wireless keyboard and mouse work with the Macbook Air?

I just need to know if my existing keyboard/mouse will work or if I need to purchase new.

Any BlueTooth keyboard or mouse should work. I have a nifty Kensington BT keyboard that switches from my desktop to MBA to iPad with the flick of a single key and I have a BT Magic Mouse.

HT4106 I just bought the lightning to SD card camera reader and it worked with the photos but didn't find the videos on the same SD card.

The cable only imported the photos and doesn't read the videos. Am I not seeing something on my iPad mini?

Do those videos follow the naming convention? To be seen all files must have the 8 character name, for example VID_4854.mp4
If they don't follow the naming convention they won't be seen. They also need to be a format that the iPad will play.

Do Google Sharing and Ghostery work with the new version?

I recently bought a factory unlocked iPhone 4. The volume buttons and the lock button don’t work. The battery is also very swollen and runs hot. At the moment, this phone is stuck in the recovery mode loop. I also have an iPhone 4s. It’s locked so it’s of no use to me. Can the iPhone 4s’ volume buttons, lock button and battery work with the iPhone 4? I do not live in a country with Apple stores. Both phones are out of warranty. Help is much appreciated

I Have not seen or heard of such a keyboard. The iPad is not designed to accommodate a mouse, since there is no cursor to move as in traditional computer.

The machine could be repaired by a company that does circuit board re-soldering, since it is possible a heat-flex solder break on the main board may have caused either the processor or graphics chips to lose connection and that could manifest itself in a few somewhat documented ways.
There is an on-board RAM chip that may also have something to do with a kernel panic, if it no longer is functioning correctly; that is the non-removable one soldered on the board you never usually worry about.
Companies such as powerbookmedic, wegenermedia, and others can take in portable macs of vintage or newer (contact them for details on what they do, and how they accept work orders) for repair and can fix most anything; and have a parts inventory. Modern repair workstations allow the equipped service company to fix complex issues and they do troubleshooting. Sometimes the cost is less than a replacement logic board.

Usually the issue is caused by hardware, especially if there is an indication of machine failure in the crash log or other screen image text.
A working last model MacBook (mid-2010) would be a better 'first mac' to have.
Hopefully you can sort it out.
If not, there likely are fair parts in it.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

oKAY So I use my iMac everyday... and need this fix asap like everybody else that experience this problem I guess...
One morning I just start my computer like usual and nothing happen to it during the night and I had use it without any trouble the day before..
But this morning the screen stay black... Even If I tried to restart it to unplug and replug it... to restart the pma and put try with the restart install cd nothing seems to work... the strange part is that I can sometimes hear the starting process and if its on I can press play on my keyboard and hear my music and change song and control the volume... but nothing change my black non-working screen..
I've read a lot on blogs trying every tricks but nothing seems to work...
Anybody with the same problem found a solution except bringing it to a repair shop?!?!?!
It's so annoying as my 1 year warranty just but just expired...
