I have a HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop PC, will this video card and power supply work on my computer?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

It is unlikely that the power supply will fit/work in your HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop Computer. Please consider the Corsiar CX500, CX500M, CX600, and CX600M for your power supply needs. These power supplies are the same physical size as the factory unit and are known to fit and work in most HP full-sized consumer desktop computers.
There is a chance that the GTX 760 and other current generation video cards may not work in your computer. These newer cards typically require the computer to support the most current UEFI standards and many motherboards don't meet this criteria. Please know the return policy on any video card you purchase, in case it doesn't work. If the GTX 760 doesn't work, consider the GTX 650/660 Ti or equivalent AMD graphics card for your graphics card needs.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Because the XP597A3 (actually any of these product numbers; XP597AA, XP597A3, XP597AS) is a HP 2011x 20" LCD/LED widescreen monitor. The OP was looking for an A/C adapter power supply for the HP 2711x 27" LCD/LED widescreen monitor, which is product # XP600AA or XP600A3. The adapter power supply I linked to, is the correct part for the 2711x monitor.... that is why not those other parts.

ok i am ready to off myself with this thing.....i backed up the needed software then swapped motherboards, as well as CPU....also changed the video cards. First was that everuything started going wrong...windows would crash to a blue screen that went by lightning fast since my pc would reboot itself.....then it would post start loading windows then reboot itself. I adjusted every bios option for close to 8 hrs last night to seee what would work. when i finally got into windows in safe mode it might or might not reboot. No sign of the third hdd (what am I doing wrong here...or can that IDE3 not be used as a standard third hdd) so i swapped back the original vid card since that usually is a prob, but no real diff.....so i formatted completely the #1 drive and relaoded xp home complete clean install......went thru the whole thing ok but when i tried to download the SP1 the computer started the whole rebooting itself over again. WHAAAAAA!!!!! does any one have any ideas, since the only diff in the pc now is the mb and processor, i did the clean install using my orginal video card with the hopes of installing it again later. I did install the MSI IDE driver, the broadband driver and the USB2.0 driver found on the disk, but i didn't install the others since it said not to under windows XP...should I have installed that whole 4 in 1 driver thing with the agp driver for VIA??? i searched the net and have been to 100's of sites before posting here, all with thwe hopes of figuring this thing out for myself, but i am at your collective mercy. please help whille i figure out where i out those darn bullets.......

interestingly, it seems somewhat fixed...sorta...installed new via 4in1 drivers which allowed me to then istall WDM for my video card.....now i am stuck with trying to get the HDD on the IDE3 to be recognized....i tried enabling raid but XP keeps telling me that it can't install the raid driver becuase "data is invalid"......what the hell does that mean...tried every diff version of the ware but no luck....why can't the friggin bios have an IDE 3 enable thing....or i wonder how else i might be able to get this all to work.....hasn't crashed in 4 hrs which is a triumph

  • KT4 Ultra Powers Off within Seconds of Power Up

Ok, here's the situation... this board powers down everytime within seconds of powering up, usually even before the video card can POST, although I have seen it POST a couple times.
I believe I've ruled out every possibility but the board...  I've got the board out of the case on it's box, and the only thing connected is the CPU, the video card, the power switch cable. and a CPU fan, which is using the power supply for power, not the board.
I have tried 2 different power supplies, 2 different video cards, 2 different processors, 2 different power cords, 2 different outlets, and using the reset button to power the board up (in case the pickup in the power switch was sticky).  I've tried 2 different RAM modules, as well as removing the RAM entirely, and clearing the CMOS... everytime, it's the same result, it powers itself off right away.
I know everything points the board being bad, but I had an ASUS board that was doing this identical thing because of the thermal protection circuitry, I could clear the CMOS to get to the BIOS, and then disable thermal protection.  It doesn't look like that's going to work here, but I thought I'd post this anyway, and see if anyone has any suggestions...

Ok... well, I feel a little dumb admitting this, but I suppose if it helps someone else down the road, it's worth it.
Problem solved... and the resolution was so simple I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't just seen it.  I cleaned off my heatsink, and the cpu core, and reapplied new thermal grease to both, then made sure the heatsink was fit as tightly as I possibly could... and voila... no more problem.
I will admit, that the heatsink I was a Swiftech unit off an old Duron CPU, and in my haste, I didn't clean it before using it again.  I never imagined that these things could overheat so quickly, but let that be a lesson to those of you like me who haven't built a machine in the last 2 years or so.  I guess the heatsink working was just something I took somewhat for granted.
Thanks to those of you who took time to try and help... hopefully my lesson will help one of you.

  • Need help with power supply & graphics card upgrades

I have a HP Pavilion p6320y that I bought 8 months ago. AMD Phenom II x4820 Quad Core processor.   I play WoW and since the last big patch, have been suffering with low fps. I updated drivers and followed all the advice given to me by Blizz and finally figured out that my Nvidia GeForce 9100 (integrated graphics) isn't good enough anymore.
I checked my computer and discovered that I have a 300w power supply (12V) and read on another post here that something stronger than 300w is needed to run a decent graphics card.
    Now for my questions:
How much of a power supply can I upgrade to without hurting my computer, but will be enough to run a good card?
What would be a good graphics card for this computer?
I've been looking at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express graphics card and wonder if that will work on my computer.  Most of the nicer cards seem to be the PCI Express and I'm not sure if that will work.
Any advice will be most helpful. I have some experience with the inner workings of my PC and would like to fix this myself instead of running to the closest computer shop and paying someone else to. Thanks!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Well, you are starting out from a fairly low baseline with the integrated graphics. It will not cost much to have a substantial increase if all you want to do is run WoW without error messages. Yes, the 300w power supply is an issue and rules out any card that will require its own power (i.e. needs its own power cord like a hard drive) but there are several mid-grade cards that can run off bus power alone (i.e. just from the pci-e slot itself). Just taking a quick look at newegg.com I see the following:
    GeForce 9400 under $50
    Radeon HD 4650 under $50
    GeForce 9500GT a little over $50
Any of these should get you where you want to be and not require a PS upgrade. The slot you have available is a PCI Express x16 slot so don't look at AGP cards; they will not work. If you want to install the card you mention you need to get a better PSU.

  • Need to Replace Power Supply

I have a iMac G5 20" with the built-in iSight. My computer has progressed from having occasional issues to not being able to boot up at all.
It started w/the freezing and the fan kicking in...to grey screens of death...to kernel panics. I tried multiple times to use the disk utilities both from the install disk and from the applications - it found nothing wrong.
I wiped out the hard drive and reinstalled the OS...happiness was brief as it crashed within minutes of restart. Tried this multiple times - it wouldn't even make it through the install sometimes.
Took it to the Apple Store - Genius Bar - the only suggestion was to replace the hard drive. She gave me the cards of some outside techs stating that it would be cheaper since I'm out of warranty anyways.
I bought a new hard drive and with the help of my boyfriend (and a handy YouTube video) we replaced it ourselves. I got as far as again trying to install the OS and was not successful. It will only occasionally boot far enough to get to the disc utility. I was able to format the volume at least.
From what I've read the Power Supply is probably my next stop. I found the part I need (661-3780), but can't figure out WHERE it goes.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Help!!

  • Will the MBA Magsafe adapter/power supply work on an MBP?

Similar, but inverse question to this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6167022
From looking at several high res photos online, I can see that the MBA angled plug may be physically identical to that of the MB and MBP. So, mechanically it's all good. What about electrically?
I don't really care about needing to charge the battery at the same rate as the 85w supply. I just want something smaller for use during class (3-4 hours); I usually charge my Macbook Pro overnight anyway (or keep it plugged in).
Thoughts? I suppose I'll have to go to an Apple Store with my 'Pro and figure it out in person otherwise.

I'd be VERY wary of doing this. No problem using an MBP charger (with its higher possible capacity ) on the MBA, but using a lower capacity power adaptor might result in overheating and consequent damage to the adaptor, with the further slight possibility of shorting resulting in the high voltage side making its way to your MBP , with disasterous results .
Pulling out the battery when using the MBA adaptor might let you just about get away with running it safely, but I personally wouldn't risk it. I don't even like to use our 60W MacBook chargers on the MBP.
(I see in the other thread that some people are suggesting that the 85W charger might "overpower" the other computers. As ricktoronto has suggested there, this simply isn't so. The excess ability simply won't be used.
Using a low capacity charger / supply, like the MBA one, in a situation of high demand , on the other hand, can result in real problems, Overload can result in internal component failure or fire in the power supply. My bet is that Apple products will be pretty well protected against such things though).
    Cheers

  • G4 Dead.  Do I need a new power supply?

Recently I tried to start my G4 and nothing happened. NOTHING. The day before I had shut it down using "Shut Down" and it hadn't shown signs of anything being wrong. Yes, it is plugged in.
Does this mean my power supply suddenly died?

I have been messing with my old G4 silver, trying to make it work for the grandchildren. It used to work OK, but the clock had to be reset everytime. Then we didn't use it for about 6 months. Now: Yesterday, I plugged it in and pushed the power button. After some normal-looking gyrations, the screen turned to a black pattern with the message, "You need to restart," which of course did not work. There also was some Chinese (I think) on the screen.
Replaced the battery with one from a friend's computer. Reset the PRAM. Voila, it booted and worked well -- for about 5 minutes. Went black. Would not turn back on.
Took the original battery to the neighborhood Apple shop. It checks out fine.
I put it back in, this time accidentally breaking one of the little plastic side holders. Having now read about the PMU here, I pressed that.
Voila. It booted up, even displaying the correct day and time, and finding the Airport connection. I deleted a few files and was just feeling really good when it went black again. Tried a different outlet. Nothing.
So, is there anything else to try? Is there any hope? I hear power supplies cost $100 or so and must be special ordered (therefore, kids will be home before the computer gets fixed).
I always get the most useful advice in these forums. Hope you can help me this time, too.

  • Need Help with power supply reccomendations for my graphics card

    hi
i have a MSI GeForce GTX 780 Graphics card... i built my own system, i also got a rosewill rx750 power supply in it which i think is causing me problems, the computer works great until i get into games like titan fall and try and get into a game then it restarts the computer on its own.. has done this with a few games, but it works fine when surfing the net and so forth, i have read its to do with the power supply being week and also read my chosen power supply isnt that good... anyone got any recommendations for me that i should look at or am i looking in the wrong direction with whats wrong with my pc... any help would be great thanks

yes the PSU is  the most important choice out there and corsair and seasonic are the best out there! (never buy cheap PSU's as like abvolt said a cheap one can easily kill your more expensive parts)
Cheap PSU = made of the most cheap parts they could get "think cheap shanghai parts are used that may be of any quality good or awful as its just what they could get for the lowest price" (ever bought anything that was super cheap they break very easily)
Quality PSU = the use of good quality well made parts and will have very good testing done on them to make sure they are stable and pass very tight regulations and conform to specs for 10-30 different factors each.
a cheap low quality PSU I class as a paper weight as it will never go near a computer (maybe i would use one as a basic bench PSU for things i do not care if they die or just for testing a fan or something that rubbish dirty power is not really a major problem but silicon is not tolerant to dirty power and will kill parts)

  • Need G4 Powerbook power supply replacement. Help?

I need a replacement for my G4 Powerbook power supply. My currrent one (over 2.5 years old) has a 'short' in it. Can anyone recommend where I can find either resonably priced:
    1) A factory 'Apple' powersupply exatly like the one I have or
    2) A '3rd party' powersupply.
    Thanks!

Not cheap - but i have a kensington adapter that includes connectors for AC, Car DC, and airplane power sockets.
