KT4V +12 voltage issue

My KT4V is running a voltage reading of 12.78 - 13.20 in PC Alert. I get the same reading in the BIOS. PC Alert alarms at 13.00 and it's always going off.  Is this normal or is there some way to fix this other than turning off the alarm.

It might not damage anything but I'd keep a very close eye on it.  The ATX standard tolerance is +/- 5%, not 10. IE 12.6 max.

  • Moving to Uk and Need help with Voltage Issue

    Hi
I recently (less then a month) bought a new Intel based iMac (17/1.83/512/160/COMBO/AP-USA) with built in iSight, and now I am moving to UK for a year. I want to take my iMac with me. Can someone help me with true answer on how to solve the voltage issue. I did some research on here and else where but could not come to any conclusion yet.
I found this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75099 to know if my iMac has auto-switching voltage and also this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301724 to determine which iMac I have but still cant come to any conclusion yet.
This will really help me to decide if I should connect directly to power outlet in UK or will I have to buy a power converter.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey guys,
Thank you very much for your help. I am well aware of plug/pin adaptor to connect US plug in to UK outlet, I have been UK and Euro frequently but always with my Macbook which never had any problem cause all notebooks comes with power adaptor. This is first time I will be going with iMac that doesn't have power adaptor to convert voltage.
All I need to know can I just plug directly into wall outlet or will need a convertor in between. I am not sure is my iMac has auto switching inbuilt.
    Thanks again

  • P7N Diamond USB Voltage issues?

    Hey Bosskiller & AaronYuri,
Are either of you, or anyone else, aware of any USB voltage issues on this board? I recently bought a 32GB USB Flash drive that was failing bad out of the box. When I tried to boot into Windows Vista with the USB Key plugged in, Vista would give errors saying that the device was not recognized and has failed. I had to unplug the USB Key and plug it back in in order for it to work. Also I was not able to boot from it after creating bootable files on it using the MSIHQ USB Bootble Tool. During BIOS POST, the PC would hang at "Initializing USB Devices" for about 20 seconds and then eventually continue, having not recognized the USB device. I called up the manufacturer support and they suggested that the USB key was not getting enough voltage and had me try plugging it into different USB slots. Turns out that if I plugged it into my Monitor USB Hub it would work fine. Same is true if I plug it into any of the two lower USB slots on the P7N mogo (back of computer). Device fails if plugged into the upper slots or the slots on the front of the PC tower. I use other devices in the front and upper slots all the time without issue, but perhaps they require low voltage. Does this make any sense? Thank you.

Have you tried with different USB device to check if the similar problem will persist?

  • BSOD issues with Z68A-GD55 (B3): BIOS issue? Hardware issue? Voltage issue?

Built this PC two months ago and have had issues.  This is the message posted on the BIOS section:

I have the z68-gd55 (b3).  I built this PC bout two months ago.  Awhile after the build, started getting BSODs during gaming and eventually was led here to flash a new BIOS.  I flashed the latest beta BIOS successfully and played for several hours.  Then sleep the pc but get a BSOD again when powering it back up.  The BCCode indicates an issue with the GPU or driver but I have read on that there was a problem in the BIOS  for the z68-gd65 (g3) that the voltage was off and needed to be set differently to accommodate
Quote from: Bernhard on 23-September-11, 03:14:41
@Junior, all three BIOS' that I tested, the BCLK is shown as 100 in the BIOS but once in the OS it applies 98. I have now set the base freq manually 10010 and that applies 100,2 BCLK once in the OS. Needs to be fixed.
The multi is still artificially restricted at X49.
DRAM auto apply voltage is 1,472 in the BIOS. I set it manually to 1,5V (1,507V) to prevent BSOD. Rebooting, the BIOS still shows applied DRAM voltage as 1,472 although 1,507 is applied. Need to do some DMM tests.
CPU phase control on the latest BIOS works correctly in Intel SVID Mode with the LEDs being lit solidly from 1 to 6 as the load is applied.
Selecting APS results in either the first 3 LEDs being lit or all 6 LEDs being lit, nothing in between.
Has this been an issue in this boards BIOS too?  Thanks because short of RMAing parts, I am about at a loss as to what to do to fix these issues.
This started with screen freezes needing hard restart using the restart button while playing Dragon Age:Origin and continued with Battlefield p4f, and BF3.  After reseating the CPU/cooler, RAM, GPU then updating the drivers using Live Update 5 and then manually updating; I started getting BSODs and restarts while playing games and several time while using 3D Mark.  Tried to change the voltage for the DRAM with no help and loaded only the Default Optimized Settings in BIOS.  I updated the BIOS to the listing in my signature, moved the HDD and Optical drive to different SATA ports and updated the audio driver to the current one on MSI website.  System finally seemed to be running fine then the stuff happened as quoted form my previous post.
As this stuff has continued, the PC seems to be running slower and slower.  What I mean by that is the boot times have started taking longer and the system does not respond as quickly to commands.  Like now, as I type, I am at least two or three words ahead of what is put on the screen (never has done that before).  Funny thing about that is this was the fastest computer I have ever had with response, booting, and post (my wife even commented on how fast it booted up).  Not sure if the other issues have anything to do with this but I am trying to post everything I can think of to give all the necessary info.  If more information is needed then let me know and possibly tell me where to find it?
Not really sure how to post the dump files from Blue Screen View and My Event Viewer but gladly would if someone can give a newbie some direction on this.  Thanks in advance for all help and consideration.

Yes, the BIOS I have flashed was pulled from there.  I thought it had the problem resolved until it had another BSOD after several hours of use.
The Stop:error code, is that the Bug Check Code from the Blue Screen Viewer?

  • IPhone 5 brightness permanently reduced (Please help, voltage issue??)

    Hello,
I really need someone with high expertise to help me. Obviously i appreciate any help given but please dont say point less comment like reboot the phone or turn autobrightness off.
    Here is the issue:
I have had several iPhones, right from the first to the 5. Lucky me. But i have always had the same issue. The screen brightness is significantly lower than any other iPhone that I compare it to.
Now i have the iPhone 5, if i compare it to anyone elses the brighness is much lower. Autobrightness is off. When i first got the iPhone the brightness was like everyone elses.
i only use the official charger. I think there may be a problem with the voltage or the electricity in my home as all my iPhones have had this problem. Im not sure when the change happens but the something is damaging the backlight of my iPhones. No idea what.
Please can some one with the same issue or knowledge of physics please help me. I dont want to keep having this issue. I also have a Macbook pro and am fairly sure its happned with this also but have no means of comparison as I dont know any one else with one that comes to my apartment.
    Regards
    Fahad

  • Keithley 2400 voltage Issue

Hello, I am using Labview 2010 to try to control a Keithley 2400 Sourcemeter by GPIB.  I am using the labview drivers from the Keithley 24XX drivers package which I downloaded from the "Find Instrument Drivers" in Labview.
I am trying to use the device as a current source to power an electromagnet.  I have the device set up and it will output current, but no matter how high I adjust the compliance value, the voltage output of the sourcemeter will not exceed 2 volts.
I'm pretty sure this is not a device limitation because when I adjust the compliance and current manually the device has no trouble.  For some reason when I control the device with labview it just won't go over 2 volts. Any help would be great.
I have included my program here.  If anyone needs screenshots to diagnose this issue, let me know.
    Solved!

Yep, the "Compl" light is blinking, so it is the range compliance.  The range compliance is set at 2.1V.  I added the "Configure Measurement" vi and set the vi to Auto, but this didn't change the range compliance.
Also, I set the Auto to false and tried adjusting the "Manual Range."  When I get above 2.1 V, I get a message that says :
    Instrument reports:
    824,"Cannot exceed compliance range"
I have included the latest VI here
Is there a VI that changes the compliance range, or a VI that sets it to auto?

  • P6N Sli Platinum front audio panel and CPU temp voltage issues

    Hi All,
I got my P6N Sli Platinum yesterday, build up my computer without any major issues. However I have noticed that my audio front panel does not work. It could not detect my microphone when i plug it into front auido panel, it works fine for the rear auido panel though.
Another issues is I highly doubt the accuracy of CPU temp sensor. Msi 's software monitor reports my CPU temp is around 19-20 degree, I know that's too good to be true even I am using a water cooling system. Btw my cpu is E6600. Anyone else has the similar issues?
The third, I notice my CPU voltage is bouncing between 1.1 to 1.24 in CPU-z. And the multiplier is changing from 6 to 9, frequency is changing from 1.6g to 2.4g. I only see this in CPU-z.  Msi 's own software reports CPU running at 2.4g though. Is this cpuz issue or something else?
Finally, any tips to max the overclock potential of this board? I have overclocked to 3.1g but there are some crashes. Going higher the board just won't boot up. I read a review on anandtech.com says 1.22 bios is good for oc. Where can i download that? I only found 1.1 bios on official site.
    Any reply will be appreciated.
    Cheers

C2D-CPUs have a digital internal sensor to monitor CPU Core temperatures.  Have a look at those with Core Temp ( http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/ ).  This Tool reads the temperature data directly from the register of your CPU. There is nothing wrong with the sensor.  It is rather the MSI tool that does not read the data it provides correctly.

There is no issue.  What CPU-Z allows you to see there is the C1E-feature of your CPU at work.  When there is nothing to do your processor will automatically reduce Core Voltages and frequency to save power and keep temperatures down.  As soon as the work load increases the multiplier is set back to x9 and core voltages increase dynamically.  It is meant to be a good thing.
I have overclocked my system a little and I like that the C1E feature is still working at this speed setting CPU frequency to 2GHz and core voltage to 1.144v when my system is idle.
If you have problems with this feature you can turn it off in BIOS. The option is labeled as "C1E Support" and might be hidden somewhere.  You may be able to hit "F4" to unhide it.
The MSI utilities are not the best tools to monitor your system.  CPU-Z, Core Temp, Everest, Speedfan, Memset, Rightmark Memory Analyzer for example do a far better job.

  • Voltage issues

My issue is my voltages don't seem right but I was wandering what someone elses opnions are:
In pc alert 4 (newest update) when system is idle
    vcore 1.83
    +3.3 is 3.52
    +5 is 5.27
    +12 is 12.30
    cpu temp 46
    system temp 30
    specs
amd xp 1600 with volcano 7
    msi k7t turbo2 and 2 case fans
    512 sdram (2*256)
    msi ti4200 64 ddr
    2 *hds and 2* cdroms - win 2k
    2* 10/100 nics
    usb mouse
    420 w power supply( HIGHpower HPC-420-102 DF)

You are trying to think way too deep. Your voltages are within specs except for the 5V as previously stated. Your PSU is more than capable of supporting your board. Unless you are having crashes I would stop worrying. I find programs like PC Alert just cause ulcers to people that are not sure what they are looking at. They are really design for 2 reasons: 1. a warm and fuzzy feeling when everything is fine and 2. Fault isolation (sometimes) when things aren't quite right.

  • Voltage issues? Charging it on iHome devices

I just bought a iHome22 and there is very little information on the box or the iHome web site. It is a nice device but want to know if it will wreck my iPhone by sending to much charging power (voltage) to the iPhone. The box says "made for iPod" but not the iPhone. It is working and charging but wanted to know if anyone has had bad experiences doing this on an iHome or know that this is a bad idea long-term. Thanks for your help!

If you don't purchase a dock (like the iHome) that specifically says that it supports the 3G iPhone, you can have any of the following issues:
    1) The phone won't fit
    2) The phone won't charge
    3) The phone will make GSM signal noises (interference) while playing
    4) The phone will want you to put it into airplane mode to work properly (which means your calls go to voice mail)
It will not wreck the iPhone, however.
On the other hand, I don't know what the iHome 22 is. It is not listed on their website.

  • Using US Mac Pro in Europe (voltage issue)

    Hi,
I have a brandnew 8-core Mac Pro and an Eizo monitor. We might move to Switzerland later this year, and I would have to run my Mac and the monitor at 230 volts. Are power converters safe?? Any suggestions of brands?
    Thanks
    Anne

The Mac Pro doesn't need a power converter, just a different power cord or plug adapter. Look for a label on the back of the Elzo to see if it has a voltage switch, or will work as is.

I recently began running PcAlert III and it gives me a voltage warning frequently
This is what it tells me:
    VCore is at 1.71
    +5v is at 4.73
    3.3v is at 3.2
    +12v at 11.9
but the error is at -12v, which anywhere from -13.6v when idling to 14.2v
Bios gives me the same reading
    This is what i run:

    2x256mb samsung pc2100 ddr
    radeon 8500 64mb
    burner, normal cdrom
    300w psu
oh, and i didn oc anything
anyone know what i can do to fix this? maybe a bigger psu?
    thanks for any help )

    Hi AsnO,
If your only problem is that PcAlert is telling you that you have a problem, then probably the solution is NOT to use PcAlert anymore!  :D
Before buying anything, I recommend that you take a look in BIOS and use also some other kind of hardware monitor, like MBM5.
    Hope this helps,

  • Xserve (slot load) Processor Voltage issues

Well this morning I came into the office and was greeted with multiple (as in flood) notifications from Server Monitor stating that the processor voltage was dipping.
It seems to be jumping from 1.78v to 1.80v constant (it almost looks like a heartbeat in Server Monitor). The norm is 1.85v. Right now its dipping into the warning zone.
I shutdown the machine for about 2 hours, but after bootup it still does it. Other voltages are within norm (12v, 5v, 3.3v).
I'd be more then happy to replace a part, however at this point I am not sure whether I should replace the logic board or processor. One article I found on google stated they had to replace the processor (on macintouch.com).
Anyone have any suggestions or should I not be worried about this?

  • VCore over 1.550 + 10% does not post to end; Winchester and Corecenter voltage issues

I can't get vcore more than 1.64 using my winchester. It does not help to use for example 1.500 + 15% either. I've tried 1.36b and 1.41mod bioses. With corecenter I can use vcore up to 1.800 just fine. Temperature of the water or of the case has no effect.
Now I''m stuck with 1.65 (changes btw 1.63-1.65 in bios and Speedfan) when I use 1.550+10% (which should be 1.7 but it isn't).
Is there some other program with which I could change vcore in windows except Corecenter? I could up fsb and vcore automatically during xp login. Corecenter is also a funny program as it ups the voltage upside down :D.. When I put + it lowers vcore and when - it ups it. So 0% gives 1.80 measured with Speed fan and it is quite stable.
Perhaps a bios update will fix this or is there any other solution? I know that Winchesters only can get 1.7 from this board (but it isn't even that but ~1.64) but a program like Clockgen (which does not work with voltage on this board) would correct all problems.
