KT880 Delta LSR doesn't support second sound card?

Hello,
I've just bought my new KT880 Delta board because of burning my old KT4V.
In my last configuration Ii had sound on bord (5.1) and one sound card added for microphone and headphones.
Now i can't force my KT880 Delta LSR to support two sound card on the same time. When I don't plug PCI card system support card-on-board.
But when I add this PCI card system dosen't see onboard card. In BIOS onbord card is turned on.
What should I do to solve my problem?
BRGDS
Max.

maxisus, maybe the PCI card is conflicting with onboard?
have you tried the PCI sound card in another slot?
No, i didn't try. I thought that is no different witch pci slot you use.

did you do a fresh install of windows when you replaced the mobo?
yes, i've formated hdd and installed all once again

also KT880 probably needs more power than KT4V - if your PSU is now not powerful enough, some devices cannot start up correctly.
I have got 350 Watt - i bought new because of special 4-pin plug for CPU. In the shop gays sad PSU should be enought for my configuraction of pc.

I'm running the new Mac Mini and have an LCD TV connected to the second port. I could edit before in FCP and the second screen would display whatever I selected in FCP (browser or canvas). Now it's not working. In View --> Video Playback, the second monitor isn't available.
Does anyone else have this experience?

Not sure if it will work for Youtube, as Youtube is a blend of HTML5 and Adobe Flash, but here is how to set Realplayer as the default:
    https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/24096997-Make-RealPlayer-my-default-med ia-player
It may have better luck working with any video that is MPEG-4 since Realplayer adopted that format.
http://www.flip4mac.com/ offers support on Quicktime for Windows Media videos.  If that plugin has not been updated for your current operating system, that may be the source of your other problems.
Microsoft Silverlight offers additional video support that is operating system specific, which you'd need to check the version is compatible with your operating system.

  • Mode Switcher doesn't support my sound devi

I was unable to switch the modes before, I found the application in the program files, but it tells me that my device is not supported. Any thoughts as to what might cause this?

I just searched for this and saw that X-Fi XtremeAudio doesn't have different modes? That's kind of odd seeing as I have the application for it and the help box tells me I can.

  • MSI KT880 Delta LSR fails memtest recomend some memory

well I just got the board installed and now I am running memtest, for some reason I cant pass memtest , but only on test 5 and only at the end of the test 5. When it hits 98% red screen , so I tryed enterering timmings manualy 2.5 3-3-3-8 and 2t command rate . (the rated timming of my ram)
I see memtest is only seeing 1023 of 1024 MB
I have tryed looser timmings no go, I tryed testing each stick by itself , same results.
I am thinking memtest does not like the KT880 chip set .
I had this board a while back when it 1st hit the stores and had the same problem then sold the board with out even trying to install the OS, the guy was thrilled and said it worked fine.
so screw it I am going to try a fresh install of windows and test from their , what do you think could memtest be incompatable?
note if I runmemory at 133 Mhz or 166 Mhz all is well
I  tryed out some other bios 1st so I back flashed from bios 1.7 to 1.4 and while my memtest still fails test 5 my memory scores increased alot form 984 to 1234 something is up with bios 1.7 , going to try other bios maybe that will fix it
now on bios 1.3 memory scores have uppes to 1284 set to SPD interesting!
so bottom line here is would you be concerned with memtest or would you look into some new ram ?
and if new ram then what ram ? (brand) I cant afford alot and am considering some crucial ram, not the fastest but it is very compatable

  • Can I tunes support two sound cards?

I'm a DJ that has recently been converted to a MacPro. I know that I can guy an airport extreme and use that to play the music form itunes, and preview the songs through my computers speakers.
Can I use an external USB soundcard in the same way? Or can itunes only interface with the macbook internal soundcard and the airport extreme sound?

You can set your computer's sound output to the USB audio device but this will put every sound your computer makes to the same device, not just iTunes.
You might find useful the free utility SoundSource, available at Rogue Amoeba Freebies. It puts a menu in the right side of the menu bar allowing you to choose which sound device to use.
I have not used their Audio Highjack or Audio Highjack Pro. It seems to be for recording audio from an application. Perhaps it will allow you to redirect sound.

  • DELTA-FSR or DELTA-LSR

    Hi friends!
    Which the difference between KT880 DELTA-LSR and KT880 DELTA-FSR?

    MSI standard referencing is:
    L = LAN = 10/100 MB
    F = Fast Ethernet = GB
    and I = Firewire
So the difference should be in the LAN. I see the MSI product page doesn't mention a non-GB version which is odd but it doesn't mention Firewire either.

"volume: can't open /dev/mixer " is for the users who use OSS so there; you should find out what uses OSS and change it if it is possible and not solely on oss.
and the error I am having is because I defined the specific software to hwd:0,0. so what i should do is to check my softwares and set the audio output to "default"
So in another word use you sound card and in output option of your sound card choose "default over hwd:0,0"

I understand that sound has quit working after support assistant ran a few updates.
Press Windows Key + X and select device manager.  The sound card should be listed in the sound section.  What status is displayed for the sound card?
What is the status of the mute key on the notebook?  Does it have an amber light?

  • Install AudioPCI as second sound c

    Hi,
I have a working on-board SoundMAX audio (on an HP xw8200 workstation) and would like to add my tusty old AudioPCI as a second sound card. When I install the AudioPCI card and start XP, the AudioPCI works fine, but it has replaced the on-board SoundMax rather than working along side it!
How do I install the Creative AudioPCI such that it does not un-install the SoundMAX.
There are no device conflicts that I can see in Device Manager, with the AudioPCI un-installed the SoundMAX is PCI 0:3:0, while the AudioPCI is PCI 6::0 IRQ 22, I/O 4000-403F.
    TIA...

Some mobos disable onboard sound if they detect another soundcard. That might be happening here. But if it didn't, you'd need to disable it yourself. (Futher explanation here.)Message Edited by Katman on 02-09-2006 09:37 PM

  • Alsa does not select correct sound card. SOLVED

I have onboard sound and do not have any additional sound cards installed. Alsa detects two soundcards, but for some reason seems to prefer the one that doesn't work. I am honestly not sure what the other audio device is; I do not have a second sound card installed, nor a modem or a PC speaker or any other audio device that I know of. It has always been that way, and I didn't look into it any deeper than that. I have been using Arch Linux for a about four years and the audio has worked flawlessly until I re-installed a few days ago.
For reference, the HDA NVidia sound card is the one I want to output sound. The non-working one is Conexant CX8801.
    My symptoms are as follows:
    $ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 1: ALC883 Digital [ALC883 Digital]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    # cat /proc/asound/cards
    0 [CX8801 ]: CX88x - Conexant CX8801
    Conexant CX8801 at 0xf9000000
    1 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xfe024000 irq 23
As you can see, the Conexant CX8801 (the wrong card) takes the index 0 position.
My usual alsa setup routine is to run the alsaconf script. The alsaconf script edits /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf for me, where it should explicitly identify the HDA NVidia card as index 0. In the sound.conf below, alsaconf generated the first two lines. I wrote the third line as a course of troubleshooting, but it still does not work.
    $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
#THESE LINES WERE GENERATED BY ALSACONF SCRIPT
    alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
    alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
#THIS LINE WAS GENERATED BY ME
    option snd-hda-intel index=0
    $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
    # /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf (for v2.6 kernels)
    # NOTICE THERE ARE NO CONFIGURATIONS IN THIS FILE. EMPTY.
I am by no means an alsa guru, so that's why I've enlisted the help of the forums. Tell me, what am I forgetting? What don't I know?

    Install asoundconf http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=23382
    do
    asoundconf list
to find out the correct name, then do
    asoundconf set-default-card bla
    to set the default card.
asoundconf creates a ~/.asoundrc.asoundconf and sets an include for that fil in ~/.asoundrc

  • Sound card works but not when rebooting

    i followed all the steps...
    alsaconf
    alsamixer
    /etc...noise.wav
    alsactl store
    edited the rc.conf
sound works but when i reboot, before the root i get the error... sound card not found?

check in rc.conf and see if your sound module isn't listed. Odd that it doesn't find your sound card on boot.
U may also need to run alsactl store as root. Permission problem, possibly?
sounds like alsaconfig is finding and loading the module each time u reboot, but its not being loaded because I think u need to run alsactl store as root, since it needs to be loaded by the kernel. That would require root privileges I would think. That's my best guess.

  • Can't find the original sound card

I have an HP Media Center m7334n desktop pc with xp multimedia.  It came with a Realtec sound card, and I installed a second C Media sound card to use with an external interface.  It was set up so that the Realtec handled all sounds for the pc such as watching video or listening to audio, and the second sound card worked only with the selected external device.
For some reason, I no longer have sound for audio or video through the Realtec.  The C Media card still works fine with th external device, but I get no audio through the PC speakers.  I have tried plugging the PC speakers into a different PC and they work fine.  I have also tried plugging different speakers into the HP pc, but still have no audio.  Also, I can't 'see' the Realtec card when I go to Device Manager.  I have tried resetting On-board Audio to Automatic in BIOS, but that did not help.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

I suggest reinstalling the Realtek driver.  Also, check to assure that all boxes are checked correctly in the Control Panel.

  • Two simultaneous sound outputs by using external USB sound card

    Hi
I have a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.4.1
I've also bought a Griffin iMic as my second sound card.
Mac OS X shows my internal sound card as well as the external USB one and I can
easily switch between them. I was wondering if there is a way of using both at the same time, say, the internal speakers play song X and the headphone connected to iMic play sound Y.
Do I need a special software for this ?
Is iTunes capable of doing this ?
    Any input is appreciated.
    thanks
    Ahoora

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • [Solved] No sound with ALSA (change default sound card)

I installed Arch on another laptop and I am unable to get sound working.
    # lspci | grep -i audio
00:01.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device 9840
00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] FCH Azalia Controller (rev 02)
Two devices show up in alsamixer. The first (the default, I assume) shows up only an S/PDIF button that I can toggle. If I select the other sound card, I can change volume normally.
I followed this solution in the wiki with no success.
How can I make the second sound card the default one?
