Kudos on the File Manager Fixes!

As a group that prefers the "Develop" file manager interface over Dreamweaver, we're stoked about this week's bug fixes -- works perfectly now!
If you don't already use the file manager, you should consider giving it another try...
With the exception of auto-complete tags, it's faster than Dreamweaver in most every way
Faster saving without the need to upload changes (manual or auto)
Faster access to module toolbox and data
If you work in the admin while also working in Dreamweaver, you'll notice that Dreamweaver work logs you out of the admin. Not so if you use the file manager instead!
Doesn't crash like Dreamweaver.
Doesn't display the spinning ball of death like Dreamweaver (Mac)
Doesn't require so much window swapping
Next, I'd love to see a "refresh" function for both the file structure (if you add a web app now, you have to switch to the Manage view, then back to Develop to see it listed in the "Layouts" folder) and a refresh function for web app data fields.
BTW, if you don't know what the bugs were, they involved auto code intending issues and an odd window scroll jump when deselecting after a "select all".
Kudos, BC team -- this is a huge improvement!

  • Where is the file management utility on my HP Pavilion dv5-1150us Entertainment notebook pc?

I am trying to hookup a WD My Passport Ultra 2TB external drive for backup on my notebook.  It tells me to check the file management utility to see if the WD File Setup is listed.  How do I go to and find that utility?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp41501-42000/sp41698.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the link below.
    Chipset Driver - Windows Vista.
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
    Regards,
    DP-K

  • Where can i find the file manager of yendo?

where can i find the file manager in yendo phone(sony ericsson)

I do not think there is a default file manager in the Yendo.
I think you have to connect your phone via the USB cable to the PC in Mass Storage Mode and use the PC file manager.

Lion will only let you add documents to iCloud through iCloud.com, iCloud.com requires the iOS apps before you can use it.
Mountain Lion will let you add documents to iCloud from the iWork apps themselves, you don't then need the iOS apps before they can be opened on another Mac.

  • Weak in the file management features

I am new to element and might be overlooking these features , but it seems to me that the Organizer is weak in the file management features, Can’t seem to be able to cut, paste files, create, move, or delete, directories. In general work with the directory tree. I have experienced that deleting a file seems to  slow down my computer.

Organizer wasn't really designed to be strong in file management. It was designed to provide you with alternate (and I think better) tools to manage and help you find your photos, specifically tags, captions and notes.
You have to use Folder Location View if you want to work with your directory structure. There is no copy and paste. There is no copy at all in Folder Location View. In general, Folder Location View allows you to move your photos from here to there, or move your directories from here to there, and that's about it.
And in general, I don't recommend you move your files or folders from here to there as a way of managing your photos; the only time I think moving files and folders around is appropriate is to move stuff to a new hard disk, or to move everything under a single parent folder for ease of backup. If you are trying to organize your photos or folders so you can find the exact photo(s) you want, tags, captions and notes are better tools.

Well, from what I can tell, File Manager is an app in the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/file-manager-free/id479295290?mt=8. So, I'm guessing the OP will need to go back to purchased apps and redownload.

  • When I click a link in an email the file manager displays before loading the website. Sometimes the website doesn't open.

I know other people are having this problem because I saw some posts about it from a Google search. It doesn't happen on every link. Generally it happens when a friend sends a link in an email.

  • Changing the default file manager in XFCE

How would I go about using Nautilus as the default file manager in XFCE instead of Thunar? I know it can be started up with 'nautilus --no-desktop', but how do I make this the default when opening folders from the desktop, menus, etc..?
The main reason I want to do this is because Thunar doesn't seem to remember a folders last setting. For example, there are folders which I would like to permanently view as a list, sorted by date; but there are plenty of other folders where this is not suitable. Nautilus remembers settings for each folder, Thunar doesn't, and it gets annoying changing the view mode each time. Also network browsing is easier in Nautilus, and I also like the way it tells you how fast file transfers are going.
    Thanks very much,

Well, it might be considered a dirty hack but it has worked for me in gnome before so it should also work in xfce.  Just edit the thunar.desktop file in /usr/share/applications and replace the Exec=thunar to Exec=nautilus --no-desktop and save the file.  Then any time thunar is launched, nautilus will be launched instead.
Otherwise, you can edit the menu with the menu editor and change the File manager command and do the same in the panel icon properties.  Both methods will work.

  • Need to deny access to file manager for the user

    Hi
I need to be able to deny access to the file manager, as I dont want my client deleting files. however, for some reason I have to allow him access to this as he needs to be able to upload files through InContext Editor (he needs to link pages to documents that are not on the server so he needs to upload them and to do this, I have to grant him access to file manager).  How can I get around this?  I dont want to have to reupload his site every time he deletes a file....

Unfortunately it can't be done - access to the file manager allows deleting as well as uploading and at this point that cannot be changed.

  • File Manager-Where is it on the Turbo???

Do not have the file manager in the apps on this turbo?  Just purchased the phone yesterday.

I asked this question soon after I got the Turbo also.  Not sure why they left out the ability to see your own files on your own device.  I had several Samsungs before and they all had a "My File" app included.  I would rather have the app on the OS than download on the Play Store and have ads and who knows what kind of permissions to give the developer just so you can look at your own files.  This definitely should have been in the base OS.

  • Where is the file stored (N95)

I sent my N95 an MP3 from my computer at work via blue tooth. I opened it and was there on able to access the song through the music player.
I wanted to be able to access the file from my home PC so I connected the N95 via the USB interface and navigated through the phone via windows but the file does not appear to be in any of the directorys. I also had a look on the phone through the File Manager and it wasn't there either. Are there hidden directorys that my N95 can store files in?

  • File manager -  spuriously opening folders ?

Since upgrading to DW CS - I've generally pleased with it.
    But I have
noticed a little quirk which is annoying.
In the file manager - when closing a folder by clicking on
    the square
box with minus sign which becomes + - like many other
    programs - quite
often and with no easily detected pattern, another folder
    below which
had been closed, now opens to show the files contained within
    it.
have I described it ok ?
Anyone else noticed this ? - is it a known bug - is it worth
    reporting
    to Adobe ?

    search on
    http://groups.google.com for:
    dreamweaver+alan+expanded+registry
There's a registry setting in the site def info for what
    folders to show
expanded when a site is opened.
alternate probable fix- make a new site definition from
    scratch.
probably way to prevent this from recurring- close the
    folders when changing
    sites or shutting dw down.
repost of old info- modify the folder location/registry key
    name as needed
for the version you are using
    Summary of the solution:
It's a registry thing. so do the usual backups !!!
    1. Open regedit.
    2. Navigate to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 6\Sites\
*modify as needed for the version of dw you are using
    3. Select the site number that you're having problems with
    (just look in
each one e.g. "-Site3" until you see the site name being
    mentioned).
    4. Careful here...
Locate the values that begin with "Local Expanded Dir" and
    end with a number
(there should be quite a few of 'em) and delete them.
    5. Then open the value "Local Expanded Dirs" and using a
    'Decimal' base,
change the value to 0 (zero).
    6. Quit regedit, and that should solve it...
