Kuler in indesign

in indesign when i go to windows then extensions to use kuler when i open it says that no internet was detected and that i must be online to use it but my internet is fine so how do i change that

This will only work for public stuff, my stuff is private.
The only way I can see to do it with CC, is to open illustrator, where sure enough all my kuler themes are then create boxes and fill each with the indivdual colors, then copy and paste into indesign.
Even exporting as ASE seems to export the entire Swatch library of a given illustrator file.
The only other option being to download from the kuler site and import into indesign.
WOuld be nice if they had a joine dup approach to this though, i.e. I am signed into CC therefore would probably like to see my kuler content displayed under the same name, which is so far as I can tell exactly how it is done in illustrator.

  • Using Kuler with InDesign

    Hi,
I'm new to Kuler, though recall at some point someone showing me how to use the eyedropper tool from InDesign where you can click on a color in Kuler and use it in the file you're working in InDesign.
Can you do this? If so, how?
    Thanks!

As far as I know, there is no connection between eyedropper and Kuler panel. So, if you want to use some color(s) from Kuler, you have to add them to your Swatches panel first, there´s a button for that in Kuler panel. Current version of Kuler creates only RGB colors, if you are making some layout for printing, you should convert those RGB colors to CMYK before using them... otherwise you may end up having some unwanted color shiftings...

  • Kuler for InDesign, PS, Flash

I am requesting to bring kuler (and in offline form as well!)
    to the entire creative suite.
Its great that its in Illustrator, however it is VERY much
needed in InDesign and PS as well. and therefore, may as well be
embedded within every program of the suite. the online connection
is nice, but not always practical or possible. *note, i have tried
the adobe air download too, but thats just an online thing? is
there anyway to just USE it?
    make colours, if not online?
    best
    James

Thanks for the post, James, good to know there is interest in
seeing kuler integrated with other Creative Suite applications! For
    now, see the
    kuler
mashups wiki page to see the kuler panels other members have
created for Flash CS3, Fireworks CS3, and Dreamweaver C3.
The kuler desktop (AIR) lets your browse offline by caching
up to 100 themes per feed. Currently you cannot create colors using
the desktop. For offline color creation, if you have Illustrator
CS3, you can use the Live Color feature, which kuler's color
    algorithms are based off of.

  • Log into my Kuler Account while in InDesign.

Can I log into my Kuler account using Kuler in InDesign, or any other creative siute to access my saved swatches? I see that you can access the ones on the home page but I want to acess the one's I've saved.

    Hi 02066,
Currently Kuler Panel does not support logging in from the Creative Suite Software. Still you can use your Saved themes into InDesign by downloading them as ASE from the website and importing them into InDesign(http://kuler.adobe.com/links/kuler_help.html#Colors) or Using the Desktop AIR app for Kuler.

  • Using the eyedropper tool to take a color from another file or website...

    Hi,
I'm new to Kuler, but recall being able to use the eyedropper tool in InDesign and click on an area of color from a file from another application or a website and have use it in the InDesign file.
    Am I incorrect?
If there is a way to do what I am asking if you could please explain how I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks and look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Not sure what exactly you are asking here.
However, wrt Kuler in Indesign, You can add swatches to Indesign Swatches Panel. You can apply color to ID Fill/Stroke color by simply double-clicking a color on Create Tab inside Kuler panel. Or you can take color from Fill/Stroke and set it as base in Create tab to create theme around it

  • Kuler no longer working in InDesign CS4

    Hi
I've been googling this a lot but haven't found a (working) solution yet. I did find a link to what could be a solution, but the link is not working anymore.
I'm an IT guy in an office where we have a small team of four people using Adobe Creative Suite 4. Recently they contacted me asking for help because Kuler was no longer working for them (it stopped working for all four).
I installed InDesign CS4 on my own machine only to see that it does not work for me either. The error message is "No internet connection detected. Your computer must be online in order to search or access kuler themes".
When I go to Windows -> Extensions -> Connections I'm able to login, but not able to search for updates, I just get "The update server is unavailable".
When running the Kuler Air app I just get "kuler klash, please try again later".
Because we're a big company we do of course have antivirus and firewalls. To make sure that the problem isn't because of this I installed InDesign on a machine (server) on a completely different network with less strict firewall and no antivirus on the machine, but It's just the same error message as before.
Our machines are running Windows 7 Enterprise (the extra test was done on a Windows 2012 Server).
Is Kuler just not working for CS4 anymore?
Looking forward to a clarification on this problem.

The Kuler team recently rebuilt the backend of the Kuler service for security, maintenance, and peformance reasons.  (the old back-end was showing signs of failure).
Anyway, it seems the new backend is not working with old Kuler APIs (CS3, CS4, and the air app and mac widget).  Adobe typically provides support for up to two versions back.  At the moment, that's CS5 or newer.  So, I'm afraid it's not likely that you can expect a fix for CS4.
At this point, your team can use the web application to browse, create, and search themes.  They can also download themes as ASE files (on the website) to import into InDesign CS4.

  • I dont have culer/kuler anymore in my Indesign and Illustrator.

How it could be? First I had culer/kuler and used it a several times. Now I can't find it in my Indesign and Illustrator too.
    Best Regards

Version of InDesign? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application?

  • Kuler question in InDesign

How do I import my Kuler theme into InDesign CC 9.2?

I had a similar issue. Turns out it was my graphics card.
I think you can still get into the options, try move the panel, does anything show up?
Does the Mini Bridge Panel work? If you're having the same issue, again try to move the panel and see if anything shows up while you're dragging it.
You should see a "Settings" button.
    Click that.
    Click on "Appearance"
    Turn off "Colour Manage Panel"
That's what fixed it for me.

  • InDesign Kuler & Adobe Exchange Extensions aren't working.

Kuler and Adobe Exchange aren't working in Indesign CC. I'm using OS Windows 7. I can click on them but nobody's home. Previous versions are still working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

First, ensure the photoshop and indesign up to date.

  • Indesign doesn't sync Kuler themes

Kuler doesn't sync themes with Indesign CC 2014.
    So far, I've tried:
    sign out / sign in
syncing themes from Illustrator CC 2014 does work.
reinstalled Indesign CC 2014, even deleted both Indesign CC and CC 2014 before reinstalling it.
created a new theme within Indesign and tried to load it up. => landing on a Kuler website that shows my User ID (I guess that confirms that I'm logged in) but shows me a big 404 error (nice green one on a dark background...) in the top center of the page
Indesign CC (without 2014) doesn't sync either...
    tried if traffic gets blocked
tried it on a different machine (both Macs, one running Mavericks, one running Mountain Lion)
So far, nothing has worked for me.
Has anyone else made this experience?
    Joe

Unfortunately, it doesn't sync Kuler colors like Illustrator at this time. But you can do it.
When you pick your theme color, click the Download button:
This downloads an Adobe Swatch Exchange file (the same way you can exchange files with Photoshop or Illustrator).
In the InDesign file on the Swatches panel menu, choose Load Swatch and select the ASE file. The colors are added to your swatches.

  • Kuler functions don't work in InDesign

    Hi,
I can't search or use any of the drop down menus in the Kuler panel. When I click them, they show then disappear. There are color schemes showing and I can select them and go to the Create tab, but once there I can't access the Select Rule drop down menu.
Kuler works fine in Illustrator and Photoshop.
I'm using CS5 Master Collection on OS 10.6.6.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Solved: in fact, the snmp assembly that I was using just needed to be dotNet registered.

  • My kuler panel in InDesign CS4 is blank.

Perhaps the extension is missing? I can open the panel from window-extensiion-kuler but it is just a bland panel that says kuler at the top. Is there a way to reload the extension. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Colors look different in browser window than in InDesign or Photoshop

So, the colors look quite different (brighter) on Kuler (in
my Firefox browser window), than when I download or copy the CMYK
numbers exactly over to InDesign or Photoshop. In Kuler, the colors
are significantly brighter and more saturated than how they appear
    in my design software.
My coworker theorizes that InDesign & Photoshop are
'compensating' for how the color will actually look when printed.
Thoughts? Is there a setting I need to change on either
Firefox or my Adobe software so the colors match up?

I have a similar problem - colours look brigher in Firefox,
IE and Photoshop, darker in Illustrator and Dreamweaver. I've tried
resetting the color settings in Bridge, but still get the same
difference between Photoshop, and Illustrator and Dreamweaver. I
can't understand this at all. I don't know if it has something to
do with the fact that I have a color profile called "Natural Color
Pro" installed on my computer (came with the monitor) which
Photoshop reminds me is faulty every time I open it - I tell it to
ignore the profile. I don't seem to be able to uninstall it for
    some reason.

  • Extensions aren't working in Indesign & Photoshop CC

Kuler and Adobe Exchange aren't working in Indesign CC and Photoshop CC. I'm using Windows 7. Extensions appear and can be clicked on, but nothing happens in Indesign and Photoshop returns the message, "cannot complete command because the extension could not be loaded", and the mini bridge extension returns the same kind message in Photoshop CC. All Previous versions from CS5 - CS6 are still working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

First, ensure the photoshop and indesign up to date.
