Kuler Themes in Keynote?

Is there a way to import Kuler color themes into keynote for use in a presentation in Keynote 09. I am able to import entire Photoshop documents as backgrounds, but I wonder if there is a way to use Kuler colors with the Keynote Type Tool. There does not seem to be a way to set colors beyond selecting one of the crayons  or eyeballing a color from a spectrum.

Keynote does not use Kuler themes, its an Adobe thing only.
If you want to design using Kuler themes, create your graphic in an Adobe application and use a Kuler theme, save the file as a Keynote compatible file and import it onto a Keynote slide.

Keynote can produce what the graphics card can deliver; in excess of 16 million colors using the Mac colour palette. You can set a colour by eye or enter a specific RGB value.

  • Kuler themes

    Hi to everyone,
    I read Brent Whitney`s post, and then I got an idea:
    In order to make advertisements to your themes on the Kuler
    website,
    I think we could put in this topic some links to the Adobe
    Kuler themes
    on kuler.adobe.com; or you could even link to your site when
    you`d like.
    Well, I`ll start right here now:
    My Kuler themes are "located" on:
    http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes/search?term=userId%3A178582
    Yeah - that`s it.
    One of my favourite site for every Adobe stuff I want to
    share with you is:
    www.layersmagazine.com
    Have fun and I hope you`ll enjoy my colours and you will link
    to your ones (-: ,
    Yours Rocky

  • How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

    How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

    What a co-incidence... I just deleted those same goodies. They were in /Library/Application Support/Keynote-folder on my machine. I just deleted the whole folder, cause there seemed to be nothing more but those downloaded files. And Keynote worked great afterwards. There seemed to be another folder for iWork09, which is not to be removed.

  • How do I install new themes for keynote purchased throught the app store?

    I have downloaded some Keynote themes fron a site but I have no way (that I can see) to install them. I've done extensive googling and I always find instructions that say that I have to add the downloaded themes (.kth files) into the ~/Library/Application Support/Keynote/Themes folder. However, I have no such directory.
    I purchased Keynote via the App Store. Could this be the reason why I don't have this directory on my hard disk? How does one install new themes then?
    Thank you.
    While I am at it and since there must be a lot of Keynote experts around, I'll ask another question about a problem that is driving me crazy. I'm one of those thousands of new converts and I have a lot of old PowerPoint files that took me a lot of time to create. I'm trying to import them into Keynote but some of them are giving me trouble. The problem comes when I try to change the theme (I just want to change the background). When I have complex slides involving many objects, if I change the theme all these objects abandon their original positions and everything becomes garbled. I think this has to do with the aspect ratio of the slides but I haven't found any way of fixing it. No matter what size I choose in the Theme Chooser, the result is the same.
    I would really appreciate any help you people can offer with any of these problems. Thanks in advance.

    OK, I'll answer myself since I found an answer to my first question. It was right here in the forums. I'll post a link to it in case someone reads this thread looking for an answer:

    Now, if I could just find an answer for my second question...

  • Kuler themes won't update in Illustrator

    My Kuler themes have stopped working for about two weeks now. I open the colour guide in illustrator and can see some themes there, but now it is impossible to refresh the panel and display new themes I have made or favourited.
    All I get is the constant repeating message 'you may be offline or the server might be busy'. But I am logged in to my adobe account and can launch the Kuler website and browse my themes there, they just won't appear in the illustrator panel no matter what I try.

    Mark,
    Tehere may be a number of things disturbing and confusing Illy. You may have a look at the list. Maybe Item 7) or something else under 5) can be relevant.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

    Are you sure it is not stand alone?  Google Sketchbook Express & Photoshop CS6, and you get no meaningful hits.  Google just Sketchbook Express and it brings up links than say stuff like:

The streamlined interface allows for what is known as "gesture-based marking menus" which mean that different tools are available to you at the click of a mouse. However, to get the most out of SketchBook Express, you'll need a pen and tablet device.

  • Access Kuler themes in ID cc

    Im probably missing it somewhere.  I am trying to pull up a Kuler theme that I took with my iphone.  It shows up in illustrator.  Now I need colors in ID.  I open Kuler panel and can search for themes.  But its not coming up.  I dont see an option to see my themes in ID either.

    Illustrator CC is the only desktop application that contains the new Kuler panel--which syncs with the Kuler site and iOS app.  Other desktop applications, such as ID, PS, etc. have the old Kuler extension.  The old extension will allow you to browse public themes but will not sync with your private themes.
    Sorry for the confusion.

  • Getting back old themes in Keynote 13

    I upgraded to the new Keynote, and while I like some of the new Apple themes, I'm missing a few that they decided to get rid of. Specifcally, I used the "Imagine" and "Story" themes all the time (I teach), and now they're gone??
    Is there any way to get them back?
    I use keynote every single day, and I think this might be one of the biggest Apple changes I've ever had to get used to (and I've been using Macs for 20+ years)!

    If you upgraded from iWork '09, you should still have a copy of Keynote 5.x in your Applications folder.  It is probably in an iWork '09 folder now.  Anyways, if you still have it then you should be able to create documents using those two themes.  Once you do that, you can then open them in Keynote 6 and go to "Save Theme…" in the File menu.  Then you will be asked if you want add it to your theme chooser.  After adding it, you will now see a My Themes tab in the theme chooser in Keynote 6.  Hope that helps.

  • I am making my first keynote presentation.  I transferred the slides from a power point.  I did not use a 'theme' from keynote.  Keynote will not let me 'name' the presentation and the 'save as' option will not come up in the menu.  What have I done wrong

    I am making my first keynote presentation.  I transferred the slides from a power point.  I did not use a 'theme' from keynote.  Keynote will not let me 'name' the presentation and the 'save as' option will not come up in the menu.  What have I done wrong

    When it comes to Keynote, I try and start with a presentation that's 1680 x 1050 preset or something in that range.  Most projectors that you'll get at a conference won't project much higher than that and if they run at a lower resolution, it's better to have the device downsize your Keynote.  Anything is better than having the projector try and upsize your presentation... you work hard to make it look good, and it's mangled by some tired Epson projector.
    As far as slides go, scan them in at 150 dpi or better, and make them at least the dimensions of your presentation.  Keynote is really only wanting 72dpi, but I do them at 150, just in case I need to print out the presentation as a handout later, and having the pix at 150 dpi gives me a little help with their quality on a printer.
    You'd probably have to drop in the 150 versions again if you output the Keynote to .pdf or Word or something, but at least you have the option.
    And Gary's right (above) go ahead and scan them as TIFFs.  Sooner or later you'll want to do something else with these slides (like make something for an iPad or the like) and having them as TIFFs keeps your presentation looking good.
    Finally, and this is a big one, get to the location for your presentation ahead of time if you can, and plug the laptop in and see what you get.  There's always connection problems. Don't let the AV bonehead tell you everything will work just fine ('... I don't have any adapters for a Mac...') .  See it for yourself... you're the one that's standing up there.  Unless it's your boss, then you better be really sure it works.

  • Copies of kuler themes

    Hey, I thought that with the new kuler version we'd finally
    come to an appropriate solution for the "you copied my color theme
    and now you call it your own"-discussion.
    This is how I thought it would work: once you choose
    somebody's theme, kuler gives this newly "created" theme the name
    "copy of..." and if you want to publish it, you'll have to change
    at least three colors.
    Good idea.
    But how come that now we have an evergrowing amount of exact
    klone-copies of kuler-themes that are obviously saved "public"
    although not the slightest little change has been made to the
    "master"-theme?
    Enlighten me, please!

    If you are only talking about a few duplicates see this article: iTunes - Finding and removing duplicate items
    If you are talking about a lot of duplicates have a look at Teridon's iTunes Scripts, Robert has a script in there for dealing with duplicates which might be of some help: Teridon's iTunes for Windows Scripts
    Just note: The duplicate eliminator in Robert's scripts package only works for these two kinds of duplicates:
    1) Multiple copies of the exact same file (e.g. "Song.mp3" and "Song 1.mp3", where "Song 1.mp3" is simply a copy of Song.mp3
    2) Multiple entries in the iTunes Library for the exact same file.
    The script does nothing for duplicates that are the same song, but different files (e.g. encoded by someone else, has different artwork or other tags, etc.)
    There are also some third party programs out there, like "Dupe Eliminator" that might help in more complicated cases. If you do a quick web search I'm sure you'll find more: Dupe Eliminator

  • Kuler Themes to Behance customize Profile?

    Hey guys, new CC member crossgaded from CS6 PP and pretty excited about the new tools. One of these new tools is the Kuler app and I was wandering if I can import a Kuler theme into Behance customize Profile?

    If you have the menu bar that is provided by your Ubuntu OS as part of Unity then it may not be possible to do this unless you would disable that integration and restore Firefox's own menu bar.
