If your phone was purchased as unlocked from a reputable source (Apple), or legitimately unlocked by your cellular provider, you will not lose your unlock status. If it has been hacked to unlock, we have no idea what may happen during an upgrade

If by "not factory unlocked" you mean hacked, then it will most certainly remove the unlock, and no one on these forums can help you.

i restored and updated my iphone 4 to the latest version of 5.1.1 and after that when i connect my mobile to i tunes all i see is a big rectangle and a apple logo on left and a small lock on right side please help me fix this problem.I sloved this issue by resting my phone from settings>general>reset>reset all settings...the problem will be fixed

Use the device as designed.
Pictures and videos taken with the device are designed to be regularly copied off the device to a computer.
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Media should exist in iTunes on the computer.
If the device has been used as designed then at most, only a miniscule amount of data is at risk. That data being pics/vids taken since the last time they were copied off the device. Also at risk is app data created since the last backup to iTunes or iCloud.
If the device is in recovery mode and it has not been used as designed, it is too late to salvage the data.

I keep getting error 3004 when i try restoring and updateing my iphone 4 to iOS 7 i did everything 1. flushed dns 2. edited hosts 3. updated itunes and downloaded new one 4. switched usb ports 5. disabled antivirus 6. enabled ports 80 and 443 7. disabled firewall 8. even tryed putting mobile in DFU mode to restore it not of this worked so please help me

What is the cause of "error 1015" when you're trying to restore and update an iphone 3gs? My iphone is currently in recovery mode and can not get out of it. All the information about my iphone shown on itunes is only marked as- N/A. How can I get my iphone out of recovery mode and get it to recover and update?

Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.
In other words, either your phone is jailbroken and you are sadly out of luck or you are trying to downgrade iOS. -

In using it, I found out other's have had this issue and it likely means you have a 3G iPad? If you do, go into settings and turn off cellular data, then try to update again and you should be OK........ -

Ok so i plugged my iphone an backed up in itunes by clicking back up now then i restore and update my iphone. My ios version was 6.1.2 when i backed up now it is on 6.1.3 with fully restore. Now i clicked restore from back up and i click ok it says not free space enough why and it started syncing automatically now help me restore my back up. there are no error messages, just an empty iphoto library.

Every time I try to download and update my Iphone it says the network connection was interrupted and to check it and try again. It says this when I try to update my iPhone AND my iTunes It never lets me upgrade! Can anyone help me?

So i went and updated my iPhone 4S via the settings option from the phone, next thing it asked me to connect to iTunes, i've downloaded the new ios but i've been trying for almost 5 hours, countless problems occur, waiting for iPhone, stuck at verifying, error 0xE0000xx and so on, i've tried changing cables and redownloading iTunes, nothing seems to work.
