L2321 versus L2230 LCD Monitor - video input and preset modes differences

I am trying to decide between the ThinkVision L2321  and L2230 LCD monitors, and although the obvious difference is the size  (ie. 23 in versus 21.5 in), the only thing I have a question about is the difference between their Preset Modes Text and the Video Inputs description which I found on the Lenovo Website when I do a comparison of the two.
L2321 -  23 in.
Preset Modes Text  -  VGS Factory mode Addressability Incoming video (H x V Pixels) refresh rate -----
NTSC 60 Hz NI PAL 50 Hz NI 640 x 350 70 Hz NI 640 x 480
Video Inputs:     Analog / Digital
L2230 -  21.5 in
Preset Modes Text  -  VGS Factory mode Addressability Incoming video (H x V Pixels) refresh rate -----
640 x 480 60 Hz NI 800 x 600 60,75 Hz NI 1024 x 768 60,75 Hz NI 1280 x 800
Video Inputs:     VGA / USB
If someone can help clarify this so that I can understand which is the better monitor and the reason for it, I would be very appreciative,  or  perhaps they are much the same and it is the difference in the size which makes them appear to have a difference.
Thanks!

  • New LCD Monitor Blinks On and Off

    I just purchased a new 22" Visionmaster LCD monitor, connected via digital cable to my ATI Radeon 128Mb video card.
    However, it tends to switch OFF to a black screen, and after about 5 seconds it comes back on. The screen displays the word DIGITAL in the upper right hand corner.
    Why is this happening, and what can I do to avoid it?
    It doesn't seem to like using the digital cable. It works fine using the standard VGA cable, however.
    Can anyone comment on this? Is this particular card not compatible?
    Thanks!

    Hello! Look in your system prefs under the screen saver and see if a "hot corner" is set. It sounds like the mouse is trying to trigger a screen saver or the "display slep" is set to only a few seconds. I've seen this type of behavior with my Dell screen and it's something I'm triggering with the mouse. Tom

  • Sx20 Video Inputs and third-party cameras.

    Hi, All!
    At CTS-SX20-PHD4X-K9 has two video inputs.
    Can I use them to connect external video cameras? If so, what cameras are supported?

    Hi,
    I don't think it is supported. if you want to make sure you need to bring a camera with the same applicable video format.
    kindly find the below data sheet for SX20

  • How to switch USB-6008 between digital input and output modes

    Hi I have been following the examples of setting a specific port to either inout or output using the DAQmxCreateDIChan() or DAQmxCreateDOChan() calls. What I now want to do, is switch betwen inout to output mode and back again.
    DAQmxCreateDOChan()
    DAQmxWriteDigitalLines()
    // do something
    //switch to input
    DAQmxReadDigitalU32()
    // switch back to output
    I can't seem to find any calls or discussions on this.

    Hi RJM,
    If you want to be able to switch your digital line between input and output, then you will need to use the Tristate Property. There is another discussion forum with more detailed information about using this property and I believe that you have already seen it. I am going to post the link in case anyone else wants to see the other forum as well: Tristate Property Discussion Forum. Reddog's post is very informative.

  • I just bought a recertified Mac Mini, and I wonder if anyone here knows if it's possible to hook up my Mac flat screen LCD monitor to it using what adapters? I currently have a DVI to ADC adapter connected to my G4 Powermac.

    I just bought a recertified Mac Mini core duo - it's not the newer model-, and I wonder if anyone here knows if it's possible to hook up my Mac flat screen LCD monitor to it  and using what adapters? I currently have a DVI to ADC adapter connected to my G4 Powermac.
    The company I bought it from is not Apple, and I may regret that. It was in my price range, though.
    This is the first time I've used this community, and I've been a Mac owner since 2000. Thanks in advance!

    when you say "Mac flat screen LCD", do you mean this:

  • Best way to connect iPod to LCD monitor?

    Hello,
    I wish to hookup my 5G iPod to a LCD monitor to display a slide show.
    I know that some LCD's have RCA inputs (the yellow one) or S Video inputs and can thus go straight from the iPod. But many economy model LCD's do not have these.
    So how can I hook up my iPod 5G/Photo or Video to a LCD which only has a VGA input?
    Thanks!

    Hi! I have a 2008 toyota camry and had to change my Aux connection for my 2nd Gen touch. All sound for the AUX, I believe comes from the connector not the 3.5 jack. The 2nd gen does not support the old firewire charging, so some of the third party cables will not charge a 2nd gen touch. Check this one out.
    I bought this one, though the price was a little steep $49.00

  • 17" IBM LCD Monitor

    I have an 17" IBM LCD Monitor with VGA. Kan I hook it up to my MacBook with a mini DVI to VGA, and what about the resolution? In windows I use 1280 * 1024, but it seems the the highest resolution for a non-widescreen is 1024 * 768. Will that change when i connect the cabel, or do I have to live with the low resolution?

    I had some time and went back to disabling monitors / video cards and trying different series of configs. I have a solution of sorts that I can work with. I wish my original config could work but this config I have now will suffice.
    My method to finding a working solution was along the lines of robodog2’s. I went down to just one monitor (IBM 17”, GeForce FX5500 128mb PCI) and experienced the same problem. I then went down to one 19” monitor (Dell 19” Quadro NVS 290 256mb PCIe) and problem was solved. I then brought back up the second Dell 19” monitor (on same NVS 290 vid card) and everything worked fine. I had excellent playback in the Program monitor. I then brought the IBM monitor back online but I left the first 19” monitor as my “primary monitor” and everything worked perfect. I tried to drag Premiere window to the IBM and the problem returned-no playback in Program monitor. But I was able to drag the window back to the Dell and playback worked fine.
    My normal set up was to have the IBM be my main monitor and I worked off the two Dell monitors. Seems I now have to have a Dell monitor be my “primary monitor” under Display Properties…Settings, for Premiere to work properly. I’ll just have to re-arrange some desktop work space but I can set up the IBM to act like my primary and work on the Dells. Apparently something in Premiere see’s something in the “primary monitor” video card it likes.
    Thanks to all who offered help. I’m still a bit confused as to why my original configuration wouldn’t work though. But I’ll consider my problem answered as of this time.

  • No Video Input Message

    I just set up my MacBook and connected the DVI to DVI-I adaptor into my Philips 20" tv/monitor and even though the MacBook recognizes the display in the display settings, the tv/monitor continues to give me two different messages. Most of the time it says, "No Video Input" and then counts down from 15 to 0 seconds and shuts down. The other message says that the laptop needs to be at 600 x 800, 60HZ. I have verified that it is at that setting, but still nothing. Any suggestions?

    I typed that wrong. Yes, I have a mini-DVI to DVI adaptor. My Philips has a DVI-I input but it is female. I had to connect a male DVI cord from the mini dvi cord into my DVI-I port on my Philips.
    Apple doesn't make a DVI to DVI-I adaptor for the
    MacBook. They make a Mini-DVI to DVI adaptor. It is
    DVI-D only. Does your Philips have a DVI-I input?
    Perhaps you need to go into it's menu settings and
    specify that you are making a DVI-D connection.

  • How do I make use of the Composite Video input jack on my HP pavilion Elite m9150f computer?

    I have a Pavilion Elite m9150f computer that has front panel jacks labeled "Composite Video Input,and Audio left and Audio right input" They are all RCA type.None of the PDF type manual files mention these jacks.I would like to make use of them to input video from either my old VCR that has the same output jacks and or a DVD player that is also equipped with the same set of output jacks.Finaly, I would like to know what programs should I use to view the video that I connect to these input jacks? Thanks for any and all ideas.

    If your m9150f still has Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe and the Hauppauge TV tuner installed, then you can use Cyberlink PowerDirector v6 to capture home videos from a VCR as MPEG2 movie clips (.mpg). The files can then be played using Windows Media Player or burned to disc using Windows DVD Maker. You can also edit the movie clips with PowerDirector or other video-editing software. MPEG2 video is not ideal for editing: there will be some loss of picture quality when the video is re-encoded. To minimize that, make your edited videos short and do not reduce the bit rate. Note: The jack on the back of the m9150f is Video Composite-01, the one on the front is -02. Be sure to select the right capture source in PowerDirector's Capture / Device Setup / Video Setup tab. I can't think of any good reason to use Composite jacks for DVD input as long as your m9150f has a functioning DVD drive.

  • Capturing video input via a usb connection

    i have a usb converter from interview 2.0. one end is the usb input and the other end has two different input options . . . one is an rca video input and the other is an s video input.
    is there a way to get this to work with imovie or something else on my pwerbook?

    iMovie is a video edit app meant to work with firewire connected miniDV camcorders
    .. firewire isn't just a plug and a cable, it is also some protocol standard... that's why you don't need any "drivers" to make iM work with any fw connected camcorder...
    some link to the manufacturer of your "converter" would be useful, I can not google any specs with your infos...
    but I'm afraid, that is a "PC only" product...
    so:
    a) no, doesn't work with iM
    b) needs some additional apps to get any input into a Mac... usb uses a very "slow" and instable connection, so my guess is, it uses some kind of compression, which isn't natively supported by iM (as mpeg) => needs conversion.... not useful.

  • Satellite L30 Vista screen not lit; extrnal monitor only works in Safe Mode

    HI,
    I have LS30-10S.
    first the laptop screen would not light up though I could see a faint ghost of icons etc;
    I tried unplugging and holding power button down (battery is long time dead) with intermittent and random success;
    I borrowed an external LCD monitor (Lenovo Thinkvision) and that worked fine, and pressing Fn+F5 would actually sometimes bring the laptop screen to life too.
    I changed the screen inverter and that seemed to restore the laptop screen, but the next time I rebooted +neither+ screen would work unless I chose safe mode.
    Currently I can only use the external screen and only in safe mode.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi
    Just few questions:
    Has the external monitor worked properly before you disassembled the notebook and replaced the LCD inverter board?
    What happens exactly if you boot the notebook in normal mode?
    Did you try to boot the notebook using a Live CD (Win PE or Linux live CD)?
    I would also recommend you to check if you new OS installation is possible.
    The safe mode is just a test environment and the system does not access all hardware recourses using safe mode.
    So theoretically the issue could be related to faulty hardware or system problems.
