L2VPN Interworking Problem

There is a scenario:
(CE1)7600-----FE VLAN(dot1q)-----(PE1)7200VXR(NPE300)----FE----(PE2)7200VXR(NPE400)----atm----(ATM cloud)------frame relay------(CE2)2811
I want to bridge traffic between Ethernet interface to ATM interface on PE Router Cisco7200 with L2VPN Interworking.I used the IP mode interworking, VC is UP, I'm trying to ping from 7600 to 2811,it can't work.I want to know why? if you have any other suggestion to make the L2VPN Interworking configuration on 7600 to 2811 , please advise.
Thanks in advance

Hi mate,
I think you need to configure Frame-Relay to ATM service interworking between PE2 & CE2.

  • IOS L2VPN Interworking on Cisco7200 (NPE200)

    Dear All,
I have a Cisco 7204VXR Router with Network Processing Engine 200. I want to upgrade its IOS support to L2VPN Interworking image. I recently downloaded the IOS 12.0(33)S after I uploaded the IOS the router said that the IOS is not supported on NPE 200. Could you give me some specific advise on what kind of IOS and feature sets should I use for this to work.

  • L2vpn interworking options for Local Switching

    Hi All
theres not much offered by cisco for interworking local attachment circuits for atom l2vpn. ive looked it up, but im specifically wondering about the FR-ethernet/vlan or PPP-ethernet/vlan couldnt find any references for those. are these possible locally on the same router. what are the supported platforms.
    Thank you

    Hello Glen,
here's some documentation about local switching:

  • FrameMaker 8 and WWP 2003 interworking problems

    Hello all,
we have previously been using FM6 in conjunction with WWP2003 to produce HTML output. Due to new requirements we are facing the update to FM8 and encounter problems. Evidently FM files cannot be used at all to produce HTML output in WWP and if we import MIF files instead, then output is generated but many special characters are missing.
Is this a known problem, or are there perhaps updates available for WWP (I have not found any)? I think that moving to WWeP will not be an option. Any comments would be helpful because we have to determin whether the current workflow is possible at all under FM8.

    Robert,
You might have better luck asking at the WWP users list over on Yahoo - http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/wwp-users/
My recommendation would be to dump WWP and go with mif2go.

  • L2VPN between ASR9000 and ME3800x

    Hi,
I'm trying to set up a L2VPN(Vlan Mode) between a trunk port on an ASR9000, and an ME3800x.
The ASR is set up with an EFP:
    interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/19.912 l2transport
    encapsulation dot1q 912
rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric
    mtu 1618
    l2vpn

    encapsulation mpls
    transport-mode vlan
      xconnect group orkide

        interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/19.912
        neighbor xxx.xxx.xxx.75 pw-id 912
         pw-class VlanMode
On the other side I have terminated the xconnect on an ME3800x:
    interface Vlan912
       mtu 1600
       no ip address
       xconnect xxx.xxx.xxx.82 912 encapsulation mpls
    end
    The VC is UP:
Local intf     Local circuit              Dest address    VC ID      Status
    Vl912          Eth VLAN 912               xxx.xxx.xxx.82    912        UP
Is this the correct way to to do this?
I can't get this to work like it should. If I should do this with switches, I would just configure a vlan from end-to-end.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jan Ove Greger

But still no connection or mac-adresses on vlan 912 on the trunk of the ME3800x.
For testing we have setup a network 10.33.33.1/24 on vlan 912 of the AC on the ASR. On the trunk port of the ME3800x we have a 3560 where we also have configured 10.33.33.10/24 on vlan 912.
So they should be able to see each other, but they don't...

if not, did someone have a fully configuration example ( from end to end, and including MPLS setup ) under IOS version for L2VPN Inter-AS Option A?
it would be much appreciated if you could share with me !

  • Problems with calls after VCS 8.22 upgrade

I've recently upgraded one of my VCS devices to 8.2.2, but I'm having some problems.
    Setup is as follows:
    VCS-C-1: X8.2.2
    VCS-E: 7.2
    VCS-C-2: 7.2
    EX90s: 7.2
    EX90 > VCS-C-1 (8.2.2) > Neighbour Zone > VCS-E (7.2) > Traversal Zone > VCS-C-2 (7.2)
Call is SIP the whole way.
Calls fail in either direction (connects but not audio or video).  Was working fine before upgrading VCS-C-1 from 7.2 to 8.2.2.
If I change the neighbour zone from VCS-C-1 to the VCS-E to use a "Custom" profile with "Duo Video Filter" set to "On", it works fine, although that way I can't use presentation properly.  Likewise if I introduce interworking into any part of the call path (force one leg to H323) it works, but again, interworking has its own set of other issues.  Lastly, if I register either endpoint to the VCS-E, everything works, it just won't work when going through all three call hops.
The VCS-E is controlled by me so can be upgraded if required, however VCS-C-2 is in another organisation so upgrading that one is likely to be much more difficult.
I know there were changes to how Duo Video works in X8 - I notice it's moved from a global SIP command to per-zone, I imagine this has something to do with it.
    Any ideas?

    Update on this:
    Upgraded the VCS-E, no change (again, I can't upgrade VCS-C number 2).
I've tested with E20s and SIP from a TS server - both work fine, it's only TC endpoints that seem to have the problem.
I've experimented with different call paths (we've got quite a few VCSs, a mix of X7 and X8) - in each case, it seems it matters what version the unit is registered to.  As long as the EX90 is registered to a X7 VCS, it works fine, you can have as many X8s with neighbour and/or traversal zones as you want.  As soon as it registers to an X8 VCS, the problem occurs.
Lastly, I see that the non-working call is establishing as AES-128, whereas before the upgrade encryption was turned off.

  • L2VPN - Ping Issue

    Hi,
I have a MPLS setup as below and am trying to establish a L2VPN.
    PE1-P-P-PE2
    (IS-IS is the IGP)
As far as I understand the loopbacks (of the PE's) should be reachable thru the IGP for the L2VPN to work.
I have noticed a strange behavior. From PE1 I cannot ping the loopback of PE2. Although from PE2 I can ping PE1's loopback. I can see the Loopbacks in the routing table thru the IGP in both PE1 and PE2.
Now if I run an extended ping with record option the ping is successful.
Any one here has come across this sort of a problem.
    Thanks
    Imran.

    Imran,
Try pinging from PE2 to P1 interface that connects to PE1. This will probably work. Then try pinging from PE2 PE1s interface that connects to P1 this will probably not work. Do the same ping that doesnt work and go onto PE1 and do debug ip packet (be careful - I hope this isnt a production network). When you do this debug look for the good old "encapsulation failed" messages. If you see these upgrade your code and you will be fine. I believe 28S is available and 30S is out soon.

  • L2VPN Pseudowire Redundancy arquitecture

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure L2VPN Pseudowire Redundancy. I've found some documentation in the link below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_0s/feature/guide/fspseudo.html
But my scenario is quite different from the one explained at this document. I have the following scenario:
So I need to create a L2VPN between CE-A and CE-B. I need to establish the main xconnect between PE-A1 and PE-B1, and the backup between PE-A2 and PE-B2, and I would like the CE to be able to switch between one circuit or the other automatically.
How can I do it? Anybody can help me, please??
    Regards,
    Cristina

What I need is a layer 2 vpn over the MPLS, so configuring layer 3 routing protocol is not suitable for me.
Maybe it is important to say that I am the SP, so I manage either PE and CE equipment.
Actually, I've read that QinQ can solve my problem, but I'm trying implementing QinQ in this way and it doesn't have the behaviour I expect:
    CE-A:

    switchport trunk allowed vlan 300-301
    switchport mode trunk

The result of applying this configuration is VC 101 established and with layer 2 connectivity ok, but VC 102 down and interface Gi2/15 of PE-A2 in err-disable state. The behaviour I expected is that STP protocol acts and put the the ports of the second layer 2 paths in blocking state.
    Any idea??
    Thanks.

  • L2vpn MTU

    Hi,
I have read somewhere in this forum saying that the 1524 mtu size is a recommendation in an MPLS VPN context but it might not suit a l2vpn deployment. This is because l2vpn such as AToM need mpls mtu 1526 , right?
The problem I am facing right now is, cisco IOS version 12.3.25(S8)in c7500 only allow mpls mtu 1524 configured (Fe interface)
Question is, will my EoMPLS works if our core routers using mtu 1524 as the EoMPLS need 1526

Also for reference here are some previous discussions on MPLS MTU issues and workarounds. Hope they would be helpful.

Use can use the work around,..,
Remove the BR1 from the route group, reset the Route lists and re-add the BR1 back and test again

  • Can FRF.12 work with FR-ATM interworking?

When transport VoIP over a low speed link (64K). we found the voice quality be affect of data trasfered at same time. And the network used FR-ATM interworking, we found the problem was cause by serialization delay. Has any other solution than MLP reduce the packet size such as FRF.12?

So you have a VPN/MPLS and you intend to use FRF.12 between CE routers. The connections between PE and CE are ATM/FR Interworking.
This scheme wills not work because the fragments have to assembled in the PE routers. The link between PE and CE is an IP connection.
Any scheme of fragmentation has to be used between PE and CE routers; hence, you can use LFI between a connection Interworking FR/ATM.

  • Interworked, No permission, Insufficient privilege

When trying to establish a call from a Movi (Jabber) sip client to a Jabber video (sip) client at 199.19.190.30 I get an error stating "Interworked, No Permission, Insufficient privilege". The call should be sip to sip but is routed instead as sip - H323. The jabber.com VCS is then giving me the error message. This call is to a client in the United Kingdom. I can call another Jabber client in San Francisco with no problem. The Jabber user in the UK can call me no problem. For some reason the VCS-E in the UK must mis-configured.

Something happenned after my customer change the suse's server IP, I had to perform a re-installation of SAP Business One only
We were supposed to install using the hostname but no one of the installers let me use the hostname
so it Kind of forced me to use the IP.
After asking Support about that one of the specialists told me that he prefers to use IP instead of the hostname. So I used IP.
Maybe this changed something I cannot detect yet. but tomorrow we'll see.
