L440 - Windows 8.1 and Integrated Camera

Hi,
after reciving my new L440 I preformed upgrade to Windows 8 using recovery disks wich i get. Then with Windows update i upgrade OS to windows 8.1. Evwrything works fine exept integrated camera. I installed every new avalible drivers (for Win 8.1) including of course drivers for integrated camera, bios, dependency package etc... But camera still dosen't work. Device is not lsted in device manager, there is no unknown devices also. I checked in BIOS/UEFI and Integraded Camera has status enabled, i tried to disable it run system and then enable it again, not helped.
Maybe You have any ideas??
i dont want to send it to service because its my business notebook but for now i dont have any other option...

I've tried with Windows 7 Recovery and this also not give me any results. Now I'm almost sure that my integrated camera has some hardware malfunction

  • Business Phone and integrated camera = no go

    Hi all,
just wanted to say, that all our customers dont let people on their premises
when they have a mobile phone with a camera in their pocket because of
security reasons, and i understand that and agree with them.
You have to drop it at the counter...
Evan with a MacBook, you have to drop it, because of the camera.
Its a nice to have feature, the camera, but it would be very good if you
can choose to have it or not. If that option were available, i would buy it
asap, but now, i have to look for a cheap phone without camera and a
    cheap laptop without a camera.
Too bad, but a business phone should have the otion to choose which
features are in it and which are not....
I guess here in Germany its a killer argument against the iPhone, how is it
in the rest of the world? Do companys let you in with a phone with a camera?
    Greetings from Germany
    fantomaz

You can have the camera removed to solve the problem.
Many Government Agencies or High-Security Businesses will not allow cameras of any kind. Per customer demand we've created this service so you can have your iPhone camera physically removed from the iPhone by the professionals!

    I have a Thinkpad t420i bought with Windows 7.
Recently, I upgraded it to windows 8, but find issue with it integrated camera.
with Windows drivers, the camera can work, but the image is flipped up/down.
but with official driver ( windows 8 version right now) it does not work.
Is there any way to address this problem?

    Hi owain,
The latest driver from Windows 7 (8aca15ww.exe) will work in Windows 8 for the integrated camera.
If you haven't, check out the dirvers we have available for the T420s here:

  • How to access Integrated camera from Windows 7 - ThinkPad X301?

Could someone please tell me how to start the integrated camera after installing the driver in Windows 7? I could see the device driver from Device Manager stated that it is properly installed and working fine but I had gone all the program interface to see where to start it proves to no avail. It is unlike Windows XP where it can be accessed from Accessories.

Hi and welcome to the forum jaaj!
What is the 7 character product number of your SL500? It looks like 2668-KHU and can be looked up from the back sticker.

  • X220 integrated camera Windows 8.1 not showing up

    Hello,
Im using X220 with Windows 8.1 Pro.
Under Fn + F6 i have TouchPad, Wireless, Battery, Audio
    I installed:
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.04.05
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.2.0.28
    - Lenovo Solution Center 2.4.003.000
    - Lenovo System Update 5.06.0016
    - On Screen Display 6.71.00
    - Ricoh_media_driver_v2.22.18.01
    - ThinkPad UltraNav Driver 16.2.19.14
    - ThinkVantage Active Protection System 1.79.00.03
    And from Microsoft Store:
    - Lenovo Settings - which run when i hit fn+f6
Non of driver updater find the built-in camera, same with Deviace Manager.
Lenovo System Update dont download any camera related software.
I understand that somekind of driver need to be installed to be able to turn on the camer.
But non i found activate it.
From what I read it should be in Lenovo Settings with Audio settings, but sadly nothing there.
When I start the build in app "camera" from Windows, it tells me there is no atached camera.
Those are the Lenovo x220 related installed application that showed up in Add/Remove Software.
Sadly the only camera driver from Lenovo page which is: Integrated Camera Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad , dosn't help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thank you for confirming.
Here's what I get for your MTM:
    ThinkPad X220 (4291-TGY)
    i5-2540M(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HD, 12.5in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics,
    Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option,Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet,UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6c Li-Ion,Win7 Pro 32
I notice that there is no mention of a camera. Are you sure your X220 has the physical device installed?
If you use your MTM and your serial number here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup
you should get back a listing of the components installed in your machine at its build. The list can be somewhat cryptic, so please feel free to post it back here and we can dig further.

  • X1 Carbon integrated camera working but not showing any image after Windows 8.1 upgrade

Good afternoon, sundely after I upgraded Windows to version 8.1 64x my integrated camera stopped sending image to any program that uses it, the green light goes on but there is no image. Before worked just fine.I have tried to uninstal and install again camera drivers, installed Lenovo dependency package, etc....no solution. Please help? Thanks Sergio

I resolved my issue by going to device manager selected View then View Hidden Devices.
    Expand System Devices
Found two IWD BUS devices and one had the yellow triangle. I uninstalled that item and restarted my Carbon X1 and the error was gone. The original working IWD BUS remains active.

  • Integrated camera not working windows 8 X201

I upgraded to Windows 8 some time ago and did not notice that my integrated camera is not recognized, the driver is not listed in the downloads for the laptop but states this is a Windows Inbox Driver. Where can I get the driver AND where in the device manager is it listed. Thanks.

I would not upgrade to Windows 8, lots of issues and the camera still does not work. It does work when I load Linux so its not the camera. I have tried everything, old drivers, new drivers. My wireless doesnt work either, not sure I'd get anothe Lenovo.

  • Windows Camera compatible with Windows Vista, 7, and 8 in WPF

    Hey everyone,
I am working on a Desktop application that uses DirectShow. It worked fine until we ran it on a Surface tablet in Windows 8. I need a way to control the camera rotation and DirectShow makes it quite difficult to implement.
I would now like to update it to something that is better supported. Media Framework seems to be the solution but the examples I have found seem to apply to Win8, and work as Windows Store Apps.
Does anyone know of some good example code that would help me figure out how to implement using a basic camera to take pictures in a Windows Desktop App, and easily access camera rotation? Alternatively, does anyone know of a 3rd party provider that has
a camera solution I could purchase to incorporate into my code?
    Thanks,

    Hi kemp77,
I have read your issue and it is related with

  • G575 Windows 7 Home Premium activation problem and easy camera wont work

I have bought the G575 a month ago for my parents and everything was fine but yesterday i looked at the laptop and the camera was not working and the windows was not activated. I tried to activate it online by providing the windows key at the bottom of the laptop but it didn't work. Later i saw that the camera was not working and i tried to install the driver for it from the lenovo website and the installation failed saying that the device can't be discovered. I opened the device manager and tried to install the drivers trough the windows update and it failed saying that the drivers are found but the file is not found for the usb composite device. Any suggestions how the problems can be resolved?

Hello saso and welcome to community,
You need to enable the camera by Fn+Esc key and then install the camera driver.
If you have received the pre-loaded Windows 7 with the laptop it comes as activated. If there is issue with pre-installed Windows 7 then you need to reinstall the Windows with OneKey Recovery
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

  • Hi to all, I use Windows 7, 64Bit and Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7, when I develop or export files (mostly Raw Fils from Nikon D810) after 10 to 20 pictures my computer shuts down or I get a bluescreen. Please tell me why.

Hi to all, I use Windows 7, 64Bit and Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7, when I develop or export files (mostly Raw Fils from Nikon D810) after 10 to 20 pictures my computer shuts down or I get a bluescreen. Please tell me why.

Blue screen/Computer shuts down is almost always a hardware malfunction or a driver problem.
Make sure your video driver is up to date.
If it is, then the next suspect, in my mind, is overheating, make sure all of the fans in your CPU case are working properly.

  • I am using Windows 8.1 and Prem Elements 13 and Elements is not seeing my recordings on a CF Card The camera is a Canon XF 100 recording in Mpeg2

I am using Windows 8.1 and Prem Elements 13 and Elements is not seeing my recordings on a CF Card The camera is a Canon XF 100 recording in Mpeg2. I have been told it is a codec clash?

    jamesb
Premiere Elements 13 Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit).
From what I have read, the Canon XF100 uses the MPEG2 Long GOP video compression, however it uses a MXF file extension (container/wrapper format).
Premiere Elements (any version) does not support MXF files.
Based on existing information, you would need to convert the MXF file to another format which is supported by Premiere Elements.
Apparently lots of the MXF converters available online.
Have you been there and done that?

    Hi Dcee3,
Acrobat Standard has not been developed for Mac platform so Mac version is not available. It can only run on windows machine.

WOW! That font is difficult to read. But, see if this support document helps you http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989. Photos stream is based on date and photos more than 30 days old are removed. Photostream is designed as a temporary storage to allow you to download the photos to the computer.
