L550D power boots up but win 7 won't start automatically
Power is up, and the Toshiba screen with F2, F12 options visible.
Using F2 - verified the boot sequence, and the HDD is the first.
Using the F12 - I select the HDD, and then win 7 is initiated.
Why doesn't it do it automatically?
thanks for your help.

I recently downloaded the new version of photoshop, but the application won't start.
I recently downloaded Photoshop CC but the application won't start.
What platform are you on. What is the URL you used to downloade. Did you install what you downloaded. Was what you downloaded Photoshop CC 2014 or the Creatice Cloud Desktop application that is used to download and install cloud applications like Photoshop CC 2014?

Adobe Reader won't start automatically
I've downloaded Adobe Reader to my Windows8 system,, but when I try to open a pdf file fom on-line it asks me which App I want to use, but Reader isn't listed as a choice. When I clik look for other Apps on computer, I can't find Reader anywhere (not in programs, documents, etc). It will not start automatically. The only way I can't make it work is by Saving the pdf file, then going to my graphic start page and cliking the Adobe reader icon which has been there (and only there) since it was downloaded. It's really time consuming and I have a lot of psf files I have to go back and delte from my downloads
the App version self-loaded and it worked initially whenever I tried to open a pdf file, but this is a new touchscreen Acer and I'm used to having actual programs, not Apps and I don't quite understand it yet...Of course like everything else with Windows 8, most thing don't work the way they used to after you do any updates. I'd love to go back to Windows 7, or even XP. I got this for Christmas and so far (according to it's own software program), it's shut down a total of 418 times, the majority of causes had to do with Explorer.

Alert "Power sub-system degraded or failed" won't close automatically after power restores
we have SCOM R2 and HP server in use.
we installed HP server MP.
each server has two power suppliers, one to UPS, one to Commercial power.
but there is always Commercial power outage, after which alert "Power sub-system degraded or failed" will arise.
when power restores, this alert won't close automatically.
Below please find alert properties,
there is no "Aoto-resolve" attribute, I suppose this is the reason why this alert won't close automatically after power restores.
but I want this alert to be closed automatically by SCOM after power restores, could anyone help me?It looks like this particular alert is generated by a rule, and that rule simply generates an alert whenever certain events are detected in the event log. A rule that alerts on the creation of an event does not have the ability to close based on the
detection of a second event.
If this is the behavior you are looking for you would be best to create your own monitor as opposed to this rule, as you can create a custom monitor that alerts on one event or events and closes when another event or events are logged indicating things are
healthy again.
Once you have your custom monitor setup, you would then want to disable this rule that was built into the hp management pack. You can also look to see if the hp mp has any contact info that you can reach out to and ask for this feature to be included
in the next update of the mp, but for now i think your best option is to create a custom monitor that alerts on one event and closes on another. -
Xorg 7.0 updated successfully but kde (kdm) won't start
i updated to xorg 7.0 following the wiki but, having kdm in my modules listed, kdm/kde won't start now...
fdrebin wrote:i noticed that the command startx isn't there anymore
That means you need to logout and in again, the paths to startx changed. If you still have trouble running kdm, put exec startkde in ~.xinitrc and note the error messages. I had to do Xorg -configure and make some minor adjustments to the config file it spit back to get kde to work again. -
11.1.1.5 Presentation Server won't start automatically
Hi, gurus. Interesting problem with 11.1.1.5. 4 of 5 OBIEE services start automatically. Presentation Server doesn't. An excerpt from sawlog0.log is shown below. What's odd is that even though it fails when starting automatically, we can go into Fusion Middleware and start it manually - no problems there. So it can start, and from that point everything works great, it just won't start along with all of the other services.
Any ideas?

]]Alas, although out-of-sync GUIDs fit all of the clues, that wasn't the answer.
The problem still exists. Here's the relevant portion of the opmn.log file.
These first five sections represent an attempted start of all services in Fusion Middleware by clicking Start All
Request 1fa starts the BI Server successfully.
Request 1fb starts the BI Scheduler successfully.
Request 1fc attempts to start the Presentation Server but fails.
Request 1fd starts the Java Host successfully.
Request 1fe starts the Cluster Controller successfully.
So the Presentation Server will not start automatically as a part of Start All.
However, manually clicking 'Start Selected' for the Presentation Server (request 236 below) starts the service. So the short version is that we can start it manually, but not as a part of Start All.

Addblock Pluse must be disabled/enabled each time firefox starts-won't start automatically
Each time I start firefox I have to disable/enable the addblock plus add on. In the extensions it indicates that it is enabled, but it is inoperative until I disable and then enable it again.
Still no help on making Add Block Plus start automatically when firefox is opened. In the add ons section it shows that it is enabled, but it is not working. By disabling and enabling the add on becomes operational.

Power Mac Dual 2.5 G5 won't start up!
Downloaded Mac OS X Server 10.4.8 Build 8L117 {Power PC} for testing purposes and the installer upgraded my system. Upon restart, I get the progress bar loading all the way but then just stops and does nothing - won't go to the login window. I have no USB bus power, so I can't even start up from the CD! Why would the software disable my USB bus? I'm stuck and can do nothing - any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Power Mac Dual 2.5 GHz G5 Mac OS X (10.4.7)Hi Radcock, and a Warm Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Power Mac G5 Forum!
Hopefully your data is backed-up.
You could try:
Disconnect everything from the G5 and let it stand for 30 mins.
Then connect only a display, wired keyboard and mouse, and the mains.
Reset the PMU/SMU (bottom of the page)
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300341
Observe static precautions (keep one hand on the G5 casing and avoid clothing with unnatural fibres) and make sure to press the button once only.
If the drive won't open if you hold down the mouse button on restart - with the G5 powered-down, slide down the silver optical drive gate and insert a strong, straightened paper clip in the emergency eject hole shown in Figure 3 here (you don't have to remove the drive)(it is a mechanical release, so you will have to slide the tray out by hand)
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88215
Put the system disc in the tray and, if it doesn't close on re-start, push it in gently, and hold down the 'C' key and see if it will boot from the supplied system disc.
If 'C' doesn't work on Startup, you could try the 'Option(alt)' key. Maybe even disconnect the internal drive and see if that will force it to boot from the system DVD.
If it boots, you could run Disk Utility and see what it makes of your internal boot drive
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=DiskUtility/10.5/en/duh1018.html
but note
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301269
and use only the most recent Disk Utility you have to repair your boot drive.
You may have to erase the internal drive and re-install OS X and combo up to 10.4.7
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047comboppc.html
Please post again if none of this helps. -
How do you resolve the problem on a MacBook Pro of a blanks screen, no backlight, fan is running, nothing will eject, and mac won't respond to resets?
My gut response would be to Boot from that install disc and do an archive install ...
To get the DVD out power it up while holding down the trackpad button -
Bootcamp with Win' 8 won't start after Yosemite
After installing bootcamp I had to upgrade my windows partition, it worked until I upgraded to Yosemite.
After upgrading and rebooting and clicking alt the windows option didn't even appear.
I tried a couple of tips in the communitie threads and managed to get windows to appear as an option on reboot however I get the message
"missing operating system".
Following Loner T's suggestions I get these results:

Thanks.1. I started off with 30 gb and then added around 10 so it's probably choice number 2
2. I did that for the first one, and I got this:
When you say familiar files you mean real files on my windows partition?
3. I pressed q to go back and search the other MS data entry but it got me here:
Do I have to restart the process now? -
P35 Neo-FI: after flashing bios, Win XP won't start (BSOD)
Hello board,
I was a moron and did a bios upgrade from Windows, using Live Update 4. The flash seemed to finish normally. However, after the flash my Windows XP install wouldn't start, resulting in a blue screen of death ("Stop: 0x0000007E" etc). I used the rescue floppy to flash back to the (presumably) original bios version, with no change, still BSOD. I have been able to flash the bios again by using a bootable USB stick. (I couldn't use the Forum Flasher from my old notebook, so I used MSI's guide to creating a USB flash stick.)
The version I flashed back to from the rescue floppy is 1.A0 (1.10). I'm not sure what the newer(?) version Live Update offered me was. I was confused with the version numbers and looked for a newer version manually. I ended up flashing to 1.19, downloaded from MSI's server (http://download1.msi.com/files/downloads/bos_exe/7360v19.zip), which is what I have now. Still same the problem. I've cleared up the CMOS several times, after most of these flashes (but not all).
Starting a fresh XP install results in the same BSOD after first reboot (after copying files to the disk). I also booted up (in 1.A0/1.10) an old Linux Ubuntu Live CD, which gave this warning:
"Warning! Your PnP BIOS caused a fatal error. Attempting to continue. You may need to reboot with the "nobiospnp" option to operate stably. Check your vendor for an updated BIOS. get_dev_node: unexpected status 0x28"
I'd be grateful to any suggestions!
The system in question: P35 Neo-FI, Core 2 Duo E4500, 2 * 1 GB Kingston DDR2 800, MSI Radeon HD 4670, Samsung 1614N IDE hard disk, an LG DVD drive, Corsair CX400 PSU.make sure you change the settings for ide/sata settings in bios.

My iPad ran out of battery completely. After charging all night, it is 100% however I cannot get my apps to work. I can access Safari, email, etc., but cannot get game apps, etc. I have restarted it a couple of times. Any help? Thanks!
Try downloading any free app from thee store and then re-try your apps - the free app can then be deleted.
If that doesn't work then try closing all your open/recently used apps completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Any ideas?

MBP 17" Won't Start Automatically
Hello,
I wasn't sure which section this question, best belongs. I am trying to get my MacBook Pro to start every morning at seven AM, so it may may run iTunes and download the latest podcasts. The machine has not done so for the last two mornings and has never worked properly. I also have an iMac which does this without any problem.
I have:
Set the Mac to boot at 7AM from the System Preferences\Energy Saver\Schedule option.
Made sure the Mac was attached to A/C power.
Enabled automatic logon (not that this matters, as the machine doesn't start).
Attached the iPod.
Opened the lid to the laptop.
Verified the system date and time is correct.
Is there any place I can check as to why the machine might not have started? Console doesn't show anything as the machine was not running at that time.
Thanks!No answer offered.

Before Firefox will load I have to stop a script message that appears saying that the script for this page is either busy or stopped working. Once I hit stop Firefox will load as normal but without doing this step it will not load at all. Once it is loaded the toolbar has not been loaded and I am told to reinstall the toolbar but I have not been able to do so.
