L7680 driver installation wont work with Windows 8.1

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion laptop and updated to windows 8.1 not long after the purchase. I tried to install my Officejet Pro L7680 all in one printer today and was unsuccessful on every attempt. The driver/software will download but when I attempt to install the software I get a message of "cannot find file specified". I called HP and spoke to a rep who informed me that my printer was too old and wasn't compatible with the Windows 8.1 system. He said there was no update available for my printer and basically I would have to buy a new printer. Bad answer!!!
The issue is a missing file from the Preload Drivers folder: Msiexec.exe
Please help me find a way to install my printer

Yes the anitivirus software could be causing issues.
I would make sure it is turned off during the installation.
Here is a url to temporarily disable all the start up programs to see if one of them is causing any issues.

You will have to follow the same steps to enable all again.

I went to Control Panel > Devices and Printers and i tried to add a new device as the bluetooth doesn't appear this is what i got. By the way the bluetooth was on.

All the drivers are up to date as well as windows updates are all installed

Where are LETOOLS for USB? The "ADB" Driver does not work with Windows XP

I just give up with Lenovo's arcane maze of endlessly-looping driver searches. I managed somehow to get something called an "ADB Driver" which was supposed to allow Windows XP to recognize my tablet as a K1 Ideapad. I downloaded the 8+mb file which installed fk knows where and plugged in my K1 tablet. Windows recognized that it had a USB device, and when prompted to hunt for the driver (which of course I couldn't find, since Lenovo sent it into the ether) I had to back out and then hunt through my entire Windows directory for an inf file containing the word "Android".
For the unsuspecting, it hides in something called -- get ready for it -- OEM16.
I guess the L, N and V keys were missing on the keyboard of the moron who labeled this pos driver. Oh good programming Lenovo NOT but since a chimpanzee programmed Lenovo's driver site I suppose it's of a piece that a baboon packaged this worthless driver. This isn't an eCommerce site it's a zoo.
I guess it was too difficult for Lenovo to include a CD with their Windows USB driver family on it. I mean . . . that would have cost them $.0000002. Jesus wept.
All I want to do is have XP know that the "USB Human Interaction" device I have plugged in is my K1 Lenovo tablet. Don't send me to Google for a USB/Windows Android driver, they direct everyone to the site of the manufacturer of the tablet. And don't insult my intelligence by even countenancing the possibility that Google's arch rival would stoop to offer any means for their OS to talk to (cough hack) Android.
I get that it has to be a Lenovo driver and/or program. So where the f is it? because this is massively pissing me off. And one other thing: No link to Lenovo. I don't appreciate being manipulated by Lenovo's flash crap only to land on a driver download site that says "We can't find it."
No. Direct me please to any non-lenovo download portal that has the most recent version of LETOOLS and hope I don't have to come back here with yet more frustration. This is the most needlessly idiotic driver service I have ever had the misfortune of being tethered to and I hope never to have to engage with it ever again. May I please know where LETOOLS can be downloaded? Thank you.

I'm sorry that you couldn't find LETools. I've cheked with internal team and was told that actually we do have the software, but it's called "Synchronization Software". Did you try that?
If you browse to ADB Driver page by clicking "Learn More" in support site, there is a note indicating that this ADB driver works with Synchronization Software.

DVD optical drive no longer works with Windows under bootcamp or parallels

For some strange reason, the DVD optical drive- Optiarc 5680 on my 27" iMac, no longer works anymore with Windows under Parallels or Bootcamp. It used to work perfectly fine before, but now it just shows up with a yellow exclamation mark under Device Manager and Code 39 "Windows cannot load the device driver..."
The DVD drive continues to still work fine with OSX. But it won't work anymore under Windows via Parallels or bootcamp, despite trying to uninstall the optical device drivers, update, reinstall, etc. Anybody else experiencing this or have any ideas?

Finally found the solution for anybody else who runs into this problem. It was solved by doing a registry mod in Windows from this site:

After applying the registry changes the DVD optical drive worked instantly again with Windows....sigh...guess I can't blame the Mac on this one.

The Photosmart 7960 Photo Printer does not have full support in Windows 7. There is no driver available to download on the hp site, but instead there is a limited driver built into the Windows 7 operating system. What this means is that basic print functionality will work for your product in Windows 7, but you might lose some other functionalities. This document on the HP support site explains what is available to you. You might also find this support document helpful. Hope that helps!

The camera works fine, but when try to use it as webcam on Windows live it doesnt work.
This is new problem as has worked ok with Windows live in the past, and dont know why it wont work now.

Is there some error message or something?
When you have noticed this have you tried to roll back OS to earlier time when everything was OK?
Maybe some Microsoft update is responsible for this.
Exit camera assistant software and try to use it again. I use cam with Skype and MSN but camera assistant software doesnt start with windows and is also never started.

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7. I'm not sure what information I should post to make diagnosing this problem easier. (I'm not very tech savy.) I have a 16GB Itouch and I'm running the 10.4.1 version of Itunes. I've tried using Itunes' diagnostic tools but it just doesn't see my device. Any advice?

Installation CD wont work with windows 7

i have the drivers and the console launcher from the download section..
but
i want the THX setup console for the time alignment.
i put the disc in and it said the operating system is not supported.
i went to the THX console folder to run the setup and it gave me an error.
where or how am i supposed to get the THX setup console back?

the soundcard is an x-fi elite pro

the auxilery power tab is connected to the card.
i uninstalled the pax drivers, ran the driver sweeper tool, rolled back to the most recent non-beta drivers.
the spdif input is still greyed out.
creative support is simply going to have to send me a file that unlocks the feature again.
i suppose if there was any chance to install TRUE dvd audio .. that would warrant the necessity to re-enable the function.
i dont see any reason to install those drivers you are offering.
there doesnt appear to be any difference with the audio quality.
not only do i regret installing the drivers.. i feel stupid for leaving creative's side .. and i am being treated as such.

Try deleting the temp files and then downloading iTunes again as described here:

When the window pops up asking if you want to run or save, choose save. Then run the installer after the save completes.

Laserjet 4240n driver does not work with windows home premium 64 bit

I recently was given a HP laserjet 4240n by my employer to use in a remote office. I am using a Windows version 7 home premium 64 bit laptop. I have tried the HP install wizard - no support for this printer. I have tried downloading the "correct" driver - but that doesn't work either.
I assume that there is something wrong but I have spent hours and still haven't been able to figutre out what is wrong and how to fix it!

Itunes update wont work with windows 8.1

after i updated my laptop to windows 8.1 my itunes has been acting wacky. It only plays music and wont reconized or sync my iphone 4s anymore. Im not sure who to complain to because i updated both im not sure if its windows or itunes PLEASE help i havent been able to put music on my iphone for 2 weeks x_x

Hp photosmart c3180 wont work with windows 8 consumer preview

I have tried installing the printer but when i plug the usb in it just tells me that a printer is connected but I am unable to actually print any documents with it.

I've just managed to fix the problem. I think the issue was that when it was first plugged in via usb it didnt install correctly, so depsite recognising the printer it wouldnt allow me to print. I removed the device from 'printers and devices' and reinstalled the printer, it now works fine. thanks for your help.

Hi, My external dvd/cd driver problem has been resolved, I chatted with the support assitants from Acer (my laptop with the problem) they gave me a microsoft driver link which fixed my problem. my dvd/cd external drivers are now recongnized by my computer and can be used. Thanks to Honor Student for trying to help me with my problem. Happy Holiday's!
