L9 - GUi customization minor changes

Some good new about L9. The customization of the GUI by replacing specific image files inside app's Package Content is still working.
If you feel that Logic Pro requires at least some decent dB scales and LED metering on the Channel Strip Fader to be called a ProApp, just do it yourself.
L9 however changed the folder structure of it's Framework directories a little bit. So here is a quick link to a zip file with the images. I placed the images into two folders with their name reflecting the directory path to the final folder where to put the images. You open the treasure door (like any other OSX app) by right clicking on the Logic app and selecting "Show Package Content"
I will update the data on my Manuals page (http://rothermich.com/Manuals/) in the next couple of days, but that zip file here will have all the images that you need.

For those of you who haven't seen what is possible, here is a screenshot with the modified GUI. And please, if you have a different color preference, don't ***** around, either ignore it or create your own, it is pretty simple.
(I wished there would be just as easy a modification to get long file name support.)

No that was not necessary.
Logic 8 finally introduced a dB scale in the mixer. However only one at the left side and not for each fader. So if you have a small screen or a lot of track s, that dB scale is out of sight anyway.
I just imported a screenshot of that scale into Photoshop and used it as a reference.
You have to make sure that you select linear dB scale (right click on Logic's scale), because I changed only that one.

Re-using a function with minor changes to load sub Nav menu

Hi.
I have a function that loads xml and uses its to create a
main navigation menu. When an object is selected the movie detects
which button has been selected and traces the label for that
button. I need to take this a step further and have a
sub-navigation menu load when the "Home2" button is selected. As
you can see from the comments in the code with 2 minor changes to
the createBoxes function, the sub-nav menu can be loaded instead of
the main nav menu. My problem is this, I need to main nav menu is
be present at all times, I only need the sub nav to load when the
Home 2 button is pressed and I somehow need to reuse the
createBoxes function with the changes stated in the the comments in
order to load the sub nav menu when required. I want to reuse this
function (if possible) instead of duplicating the code in a new
function.
If anyone can show me how this is done I would be very
greatful.

basically the submenu will look exactly the same as the main
menu, only it will be positioned to the right of it when the home2
button is pressed. I then need it to unload when any other button
is pressed. By changing the following lines in the current
createBoxes function the submenu loads as I would like. I am just
wondering if it is possible to pass in a couple of vars to change
the lines of code as detailed below, depending on whether the home2
button or one of the other mainn nav buttons is pressed.
The code that when changed loads the submenu:
In function createBoxes change var il:XMLList =
xml.navigation.main_navigation; to var il:XMLList =
xml.navigation.main_navigation.sub_navigation; . This loads the sub
nav instead of the main nav but in the same position as the main
nav.
by also changing box.x = 100; to box.x = 260; in the function
createBoxes the sub nav menu loads in the position I would like it
to be.
Now I am wondering if changing the code to something like the
following (see attached code) could this work?

How to transport Minor changes in BPC 7.0 to other client

Hi,
I am very new to BPC and got an ticket to do a minor change in script logic. We are in BPC 7.0.
I am not sure how I can transport this minor change from Dev to other client.
My question is:
1. Do we need to make system offline while making changes to Script logic in BPC Admin or it is required only at the time of collecting transport request in BI using tcode: UJBPCTR?
It would be kind enough if any one could let me know What are all the activities we need to consider/take care before transporting objects from BPC DEV to BPC QUALITY

You only need to take it offline when executing UJBPCTR and when importing in the target system. The system willl collect all of the appset and transport it, but will do a delta calculation on the target system to determine if any structure changes are required. The script logic data should simply be overwritten.

The auditor allows you to be able to view and print an audit log of changes to master data objects for a chosen period. It is very common for external auditors to focus on what has changed from one year or quarter to the next to help determine the nature, extent, and population for testing. To configure and access your audit log, perform the actions listed with each of the following utilities.
Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.

The new user helped a little but not enough to make the customer happy. I have done a bunch of research over the weekend and I have found there is a little known bug in Apple's ACLs. ACL stands for Access Control List and I have a snippet from a MacFixit that describes the issue:
"A disappointing aspect of Repair Permissions in Leopard is that it does not deal with ACLs (Access Control Lists), a secondary layer of permissions control laid on top of standard Unix permissions, tentatively introduced in Tiger and actually used for the first time in Leopard. Repair Permissions will announce that it is surprised to discover that a certain folder has an unexpected ACL setting, but it won't do anything about it (in other words, it won't repair that kind of permissions)."
Anyway it appears to me that if your privileges get hosed in a computer upgrade the only way to really fix the problem is copy all of your data to a second HD and then break out the install DVDs that came with the Mac Pro and do a fresh install and set the user/file-sharing up manually and then copy your data back to the Mac Pro. I did not connect back to the G4 to get the data again, I just copied my many years of correspondence back to the Mac Pro and this time everything works?
The new user idea did let me manually drop files onto the Mac Pro from connected computers it WOULD NOT let me save files to the Mac Pro from network computers. I usually got a bad path message when I would try and save from Word or TextEdit. I figured I had wasted enough time on this problem and erasing everything and starting over was a better idea.

How to copy an IDOC with some minor changes with programming

I get frequently a lot of IDOCS who need some minor changes. I'm looking for coding that will act as if you are using transaction WE19.
Who can help?

In short, the customer wanted the functionality of the WEDI transactions to see the incoming data from suppliers. this data should be shown not converted. for our own peace we didn't want those idoc's to be converted along the route to their destination without any visible trace so we wanted new idocs with the converted data. finally the customer (functional consultants mostly) agreed to see the data in it's transported form with the use of XI. (there was a no go from the maintenance departement to do the conversion in XI because of the excessive use of SAP tables).
So, a helpfull tool to copy and along the way change some items within an IDOC
using programming is no longer needed. but I still am interesting to know.

LTRM_WWEFG_win.exe has some minor changes.

Apparently is the same version than the old LTRM_WWE_win.exe, but at this moment I have found some differences:
1. When I import RAW files as DNG or convert RAW files to DNG, the converted file is created with the 'dng' extension (lowercase). My old version imported/converted with 'DNG' (uppercase). Now I have a "mix" of DNGs.
2. The conversion of RAW to DNG "seems" to be faster (this is subjetive, but I'm quite sure).
3. Importing seems faster too (this is subjetive too).
I suppose that Adobe developers just added some minor changes with this release.
I'm just looking for more "improvements".

THe original (GM) trial was 308266. And the build is to include French and GErman Language packs. That is why the File size is larger too. Some seems to be seeing minor changes. No major there.

Minor changes to website

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I had a web developer create my photography website, www.craigbanksphoto.com in Flash but he is no longer available to do any more work.
I need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.

If the site is done using Flash and the elements you wish to change are not dynamically loaded via some external data files (txt or xml files for example), then you need to edit the content via the Flash .fla source file(s) which are used to create the swf files that get used for the site. Your best bet is to create a copy of all the files so that you have clean copies in case you mess up and open then up and see if you can figure out where to find what you need to change and how to change it.

Must I render everytime I make a minor change?

Everytime I move a clip, add a clip, change the length of a clip, add a transition....anything at all I have to "render" only that needs render in order to view the changes....this is sooo time consuming as the movie becomes longer...there is a lot of tweaking going on to matchup audio with titles and video...and yes I am using soundtrack and livetype to streamline this process but I am reaching the point where many edits are just faster to perform in FCE...there must be a way to make minor changes without having to re-render each time in order to view the changes made.

Not sure what you're starting with, but I had this problem once when I imported QuickTime movies from a friend's camera. They were encoded as MPEG4s. Final Cut let me import them, but required constant renders to make any changes. I converted to Apple Intermediate Codec in MPEG Streamclip and reimported, and all was well after that.

Hi Chuck,
The Error "TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0xd, status code 0x10. Reason: Unable to retrieve registry settings from TCP/IP protocol's 'IPAll' configuration key. The data is invalid" Suggest that there is a problem with the data stored in one
of the registry keys related to SQL server start up. Although the information provided is not sufficient to pinpoint to a specific issues. Still try the following step open the SQL server configuration manager
Select SQL server Network Configuration->Protocols for <Your SQLExpress instance Name>
On the right side double click TCP/IP.Select IPAddresses Tab. Scroll the way down till you file IPALL
Make sure that there are only a valid TCP/IP Port number is present. Even the leading or trailing whitespaces could make a difference here. Once you have verified that above two conditions are met. Try starting the SQL server instance.
Also make sure that the TCP/IP port is not being used by any other program.
You can run the command netstat -aon on the command prompt to see the list of ports being used. Make sure that the port you have specified for SQL server is not listed under the TCP protocols.

This happens when the application is accessed from the local
file system, i.e. using the file: protocol. Please try running the
application using the http protocol instead of the file protocol
like
http://localhost/.....

Delegated Admin GUI customization

The Delegated Admin GUI is not always very convenient in its default settings.
For a couple of short examples that annoy me while I'm installing and migrating to this server:
1) the user list is split by 10's of users per page or all users on one page, and 10 accounts per page is the default;
2) I can search for users by their email addresses (and that's often more convenient than guessing/remembering what form of the name was entered), but I always have to select that option from a dropdown list, and be careful to type in the partial address before (or between) the wildcard asterisks, etc.
Is it possible to provide some customization to the GUI - i.e. pre-selected value for "All users on one page", or perhaps better - an increased amount (100 instead of 10); preselect "Search by email" and enter two asterisks as the search field value to easily search for partial addresses (and process a double-asterisk as a single-asterisk - search for everyone - for reverse compatibility), etc?
I believe these types of customizations should be easy to do, is that somehow supported/configured.
The harder types of customizations i thought of (which may include coding) would be:
1) extend/configure the list of attributes to search for (i.e. email doesn't seem to include aliases), and
2) adding another default option - "Search by all of these attributes"

I believe these types of customizations should be easy to do, is that somehow supported/configured.You can make the customizations, the down side is that when you apply a DA patch they will be over-written. From memory they were planning on addressing this limitation at some stage but it appears to have dropped off the developers "radar".

You will need to log a support case to get this investigated further.
