La page de firefox est très longue à s'ouvrir

dès la mise en fonctionnement du PC , pour ouvrir la page de firefox,celle-ci est très longue à s'ouvrir . c'est très désagréable . Comment y remédier ? Merci de m'aider .

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

• Previewing page in Firefox

I downloaded Firefox 3.6 for Mac this morning and now when I try to Preview the html page in Firefox, the browser goes directly to the "landing page" I've set in my Firefox prefs instead of the Firefox page displaying my "local" file.
Trashed the newly-downloaded Firefox, rebooted, then downloaded Firefox again, installed, rebooted only to have same thing occur. I also use Safari, Opera & Navigator for Preview Browsers and they work fine.
Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks YR

This problem hasn't really been solved, because it still exists.  Mozilla said that 3.6.2 would fix the issue, but the same problem still exists.  So far, the only solution is to continue using 3.5.8, or switch to a different browser.
Mozilla has also said that there is a 3rd party patch for Dreamweaver that will fix this.  Follow this link to read the thread:
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/627688
The problem with that is that it costs $5, and I don't know about any of you, but I'm not going to pay to fix a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.  Adobe needs to buy this patch from that developer and release their own patch for Dreamweaver.  Or maybe muscle Mozilla into modifying FireFox.

• Can I print web pages from firefox using adobe pro 9 (Not using PDF download) and if so how

Can I print web pages from Firefox 3.6.12 using adobe pro 9 (not using PDF Download) and if so how.

{Ctrl + P} - do you have a PDF Printer listed in the Printer - Name drop-down?

• My printer will not print the web pages using firefox...how do I set it up to print a web page?

I have an hp photosmart c4180 printer and it will not print the web pages in firefox...how exactly do I set up FF so I can print web pages? I will need step by step instruction also on exactly where to go to set it up.

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock), then open Print & Scan
Click the + button at the bottom of the printer list
If your printer appears....not all printers are supported....click on the name to highlight it
Click the Add button to install the printer at the AirPort Express location
Try to print. You must choose the correct printer at the AirPort Express location since the printer is "installed" at other locations on your network.
If you open Print & Scan again, and select the printer at the AirPort Express, there is an option to make the printer the "default" location, so you do not have to choose which location to select when you want to print.

d Pacifist to reinstall both the Safari
application and the WebKit framework
was that before the 10.4.6 combo was applied?
Nope, I tried the Pacifist route after applying the combo update.
It does sound as if webkit is busted at the moment.
What version of osx is on your install disks?
Not sure, I'll have to check them.
I'd like to avoid a archive & install, but I'm beginning to think it's my only remaining option.

• How can I get a list of open web pages in Firefox (in Linux)?

I would like to know how to get a list of open web pages in Firefox (in Linux), because I have a shortcut to open a web page and I want to get it to see if Firefox has the page open first so that it doesn't open duplicates.

You see the "List All Tabs" button in current Firefox versions if there are that many tabs open that you get the Tab bar scroll buttons appearing.
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

• Clicking on a link does not open firefox and take me to the page when firefox is my default browser but does when Internet Explorer is my default browser, what is wrong?

All of a sudden (I think after the last firefox update) links in other web pages won't open firefox to access the page when firefox is my default browser but works when I change my default browser to Internet Explorer and I can't figure out why. Help!!!

This problem just arose for me today. Very frustrating. Tried all of the suggestions here without success. Then a very simple solution came to me:
UNINSTALL CHROME. I haven't used Chrome for a long while anyway since it seems to have chronic problems of one sort or another. Firefox does 95% of what I need, and Internet Explorer can handle the other 5%.
After uninstalling Chrome I clicked a mailto link. It asked me what program to use and did not list Firefox as an option for some reason. In the Tools menu, I chose "Options" and went to the "Applications" tab. Searched for "mailto". There was a single entry - when Chrome was installed it gave me no options to switch. After uninstalling Chrome I was able to change that. It still did not list Firefox, but it did list "Gmail". Selecting that causes my Gmail to open in Firefox.
I have no idea whether Google or Microsoft is responsible for this, but I'm inclined to give the hairy eyeball to Google for this one. It's the sort of stunt they'd pull on Microsoft, then pretend it was just a mistake. Just one guy's opinion, of course.

• How can I set the opening home page of FIrefox to display the current bookmarks. This used to work with bookmarks.html but I understand this file is no longer current.

I wish to display my current bookmarks as my opening home page in Firefox. I do not wish to use the Bookmarks sidebar instead. It used to work to open with bookmarks.html, which was and still is stored in my Firefox profile. However, I understand this file is no longer kept current but is only retained for legacy/compatibility reasons, and that the current bookmarks info is now stored in places.sqlite, etc. Is there a way with the new versions of Firefox to display as a full opening webpage the assuredly current bookmarks? Thank you

Hi Jaime,
Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both  objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu  = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps
Regards,
Gokul

• How do I get back my old home page on firefox?

I carefully created a home page on Firefox, and it has disappeared with a blank opening page now.
I would like my old home page back. How do I do this?

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
Check the <b>browser.search.defaultenginename</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
*browser.search.defaultenginename
Currently selected search engine:
*browser.search.selectedEngine

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

• Every time I open Firefox another page of Firefox opens that has adds. What can you do to help me fix this issue?

When I boot up Firefox, my default web browser, Firefox appears and then it loads another page of Firefox that has adds. How can you help me with this issue?

This unwanted page opens as a second tab, or as a second window? The usual cause of this problem is a bad add-on. Here's my suggested procedure for tracking down and removing bad add-ons. I know it seems long, but it's not that bad.
(1) Open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Don't be fooled by seemingly innocent or important names if you do not remember choosing to install them. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Open Firefox's Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
* in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste <br><code>firefox.exe "about:addons"</code>
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. (Note: you might not be able to manually Disable extensions in Safe Mode because they are disabled automatically.)
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
(3) You can search for remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools listed in our support article: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
Success?

• I like to know when i use fire fox why it take so much resource of my computer ? it almost 1/4 of my 4gig of memeory , ihave 6,7 page of firefox window open

i like to know when i use fire fox why it take so much resource of my computer ? it almost 1/4 of my 4 gig of memory , i have 6,-8 page of firefox window open at cpu level its is almost 25% been used up. i see its taking too much resource i wonder why ?? how not to take so much and it crashes often.. any help, ive 24.0 ,

Firefox add-ons take some memory. This amount varies depending on the add-on.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
Does this decrease the memory usage? Please report back soon.

• Subscribing to a page with Firefox Live Bookmarks launches Mac Mail?!

Can anyone PLEASE help me?! I'm going insane here. I just upgraded to Firefox 3, but the same thing was happening with Firefox 2. Any time I tried to subscribe to a page using Firefox Live Bookmarks (or do anything related to RSS feeds), my mac launches the Mail app and forces me to subscribe to the feed there. I don't even have Mail configured with any accounts anymore. Mail was set to use Firefox as the RSS reader, Safari is set to use Firefox as the RSS reader, and yet any time I click an RSS feed, it launches Mail. I've trashed my Mail preferences, but it keeps doing it!! What's going on here?! Please help, this is driving me crazy.

You might think the exact same thing happens, and that clicking an RSS link in Safari would simply launch mail and give me the same configuration screen (again, Mail is no longer configured on my computer so it always wants me to set up an account). But no! Trying to subscribe in Safari actually opens a new tab in Firefox, which loads a blank page for a few seconds, and THEN mail launches and tries to handle the RSS subscription.
I tried subscribing to a live bookmark in Firefox on a PC just to see what the behavior was supposed to look like, and saw that it loads a feedburner page with a preview of the feed, and at the top is an interface to decide what on your computer is supposed to handle feedburner feeds. I can either leave it set to Live Bookmarks, or choose any other application I want. I wonder if the same sort of thing is going on with the Mac? Somehow the Mail app got locked into being the default application for RSS feeds and I can't change it? I mean, obviously something like that is going on, I just don't know what to do about it.
I tried going into System Preferences - Default Apps to see if there was an RSS entry there, but when I try to run Default Apps, I get the message "You cannot open Default Apps preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac." Oh.

• All of a sudden I have problems printing web pages wwith Firefox 3.6.8 (XP), but printing pdf pages is still fine (printing with other software as well)

Suddenly I can't print web pages with Firefox 3.6.8 anymore, but pdf pages pose no problem - the same applies to printing with any other software

Thanks edmeister for your trouble!
I guess I should have written that I had tried the tips on 'reset printer' and 'does not print to paper at all' before I posted the question - to no avail.
The printer starts as normal: it's the right printer selected, the dialogue window shows the progress of sending the data to the printer - and after that: that's it. It simply vanishes from the queue, and nothing happens.

• How do I email a page in firefox? I do not want to send a link, but mail the actual page.

I want to email a page in firefox. I do not want to send a link or copy it to a word or other document and then mail it. Is there a way to do this as in other browsers?
Thank you.

Standard email doesn't have much formatting. In fact many people object to receiving heavily formatted email or messages that looks like a webpage. Yes, if you want to send something that looks like a newsletter or a word processing document with graphics etc, creating a PDF file and then emailing that is the preferred method - at least to me.
