Label and Caption Graphics Question

I must be missing something because I can not get the small white boarder to disappear from the gauge label and caption. I've tried every property node option - except apparently the correct one. Can someone help get rid of the white boarder around "PERCENT" which is the label and "EFFICIENCY" which is the caption?

What determines whether the Label name and/or Caption appears in the context help window but in other cases, both the label and caption appear in the context help window?

I am trying to polish an application, and find that I cannot seem to reliably control which of the label or caption text appears in the context help window because I don't understand what rules are in place to determine which should appear. It seems like if I reate a named constant, then use it's right click menu command "Create Indicator" I get a control with only a Label (as long as I don't add a caption). This then appears in the context help window as the label name followed by the description text (after entering some description text). But if I add a caption, the label name is shown in bracket
s which is a 'feature' I would like to avoid, because I have certain controls where I would like to use a descriptive variable name on the block diagram side without using so much space on the front panel. It seems like there is no way to avoid showing the Label name in the context help for a control/indicator. Is this true?
I thought the purpose of having a seperate caption was to make the text that appears with a control programmatically controllable, but if that control is not extended to what appears in the context help window, it limits the usefulness of the caption and forces me to re-consider some Label names. However, the problem goes deeper than that because then even when I make the label and caption exactly the same, or if I delete (via a select caption text-backspace or select caption text- delete key .. sequence) the caption for a control, the label name in the context help window still appears in square brackets!
Can I have complete control over the context help fo
r a particular control (or has anyone found a third-party context help solution that functions compatibly with LabVIEW 7 in a built application that they will be so kind as to recommend?)

Scan labels and captions

Hello,
I have a couple of buttons/led indicators on my MainVi and a couple of SubVi. I would like to scan for the labels of all these indicators and write them into a file.In another file I have captions written; which I would like to add to the indicators present in the Vis.
Any help will be appreciated.

Use the TRef Travers vi's to get the references to all controls. They are located in the utility folder of LabVIEW.

PSE7 Labels and Captions

I am able to caption a photo in black, small, simple text, from a pull down menu. I am unable to find the caption menu for changing the text size,font,color ,style or location. If it is in the missing manual or in the online instruction it is well hidden.

I don't think it's possible to edit a slideshow and the accompanying thumbnails and caption/labels through in browser editing. Does anyone else want that?

Does anyone aside from me see this as a valuable new feature? Not sure it's possible...

You can edit slideshow hero images with thumbnails and captions through In browser editing. Are you facing any issue while editing those ?
Please provide details and screenshot which will help us to identify the issue.

How to click a label and pop up a Word Document

i know this question has been asked many times...i did a search...but got alot of stuff that were either too much for me to read...or too tough for me...
i hope i can GEt some help here!

question is:
i have a JLABel. hwo to create a link that once i click on it... a MS word DOC will open??
i already have the doc. file made...but need to link it to the label..such that once its clicked, the doc is opened...

A very important message about problem solving: Divide and conquer.
Stop thinking "clicking a label and open a word document".
Think
- "Clicking a label, and do something"
- "open a word document from a java program".
Go on, and think
- "How do I make my program notice when a specific label gets clicked"
- "What external command will open a word document?"
- "How do I run an external command from a java application?"
Look at the hints you've got. Read the documentation for the classes and methods you've been pointed towards. Look them up in the index in a good book. Read the tutorial. Write code. Experiment. Maybe come back here if you get stuck on something specific.

Bookmarks sync erase new tags, labels and description on former synchronized bookmarks

bookmarks synchronisation erase recent tags, labels and description during the sync.
this happen on already sync bookmarks on which we add some tags, labels and description, but not on new ones.
no error message when logging or unlogging.

Thank you for your question, I understand that after a recent sync to your sync account that there are Recent Tags, descriptions and labels missing. However it is only the older Bookmarks that are affected.
I have attached two screenshots to clarify to make sure I understand the feature that is affected:
# The first has the default recent tags and list of all tags.
# the second is an older bookmark visited 32 times that has all of the details after a sync.(However it never had a description or keyword)
Which information is missing exactly?

HP Envy 15 Graphics Problem with Windows 8.1 (Intel and NVidia Graphics). Help!

I bought an HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j013ea about 6 months ago and I have had a major problem with the graphics that I cannot seem to solve. I think it started when I updated to Windows 8.1, even though I am not 100% certain.
I have noticed the following three problems, and I think they are related:
Some windows (such as Chrome, Skype, or even Device Manager or other windows) are very blurry compared to others.
The firefox menu window has some deformed black arrows instead of the normal ones.
When playing a game (specifically, Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2), after a while I get an error that the computer has ran out of memory. However, according to task manager, only about 50% is in use, not to mention that I have 8 GB of RAM + 2 GB graphics memory. At the same time, the computer gets rather loud (like a fan working overtime) and hot.
The laptop has both Intel and NVidia graphics, and both are enabled in Device Manager. To be honest, I have no idea which is used when, or how to check that (let me know if there is a way)
I have tried the following without success:
Uninstalling the Intel graphics driver from device manager and installing a version I downloaded from the HP website for my laptop and OS. After that, Windows would NOT BOOT, and I had to do a system restore.
Uninstalling the Intel graphics from Programs and Features, and installing 2 different versions from the Intel website. Nothing changed.
Updating Nvidia driver through GeForce Experience. Nothing changed.
Updating Intel drivers from Windows Update. Nothing changed.
Quite frankly I am not sure what the problem could be, since the graphics versions are supposed to be compatible with WIndows 8.1. I also don't get why some windows are blurry and others are not. I am thinking the computer uses only the Intel graphics and not the Nvidia (at least in the blurry windows), but even if that was the case (and it shouldn't be), I don't think I should be having this problem.
At this point, I really need help. My graphics details are:
Intel HD Graphics 4600: Driver version: 10.18.10.3412
NVidia GeForce GT 740M: Driver version: 335.23
NVidia GeForce Experience version: 1.8.2

I had a similar problem with a Dell laptop. I found the problem was the laptop wanted to switch between the Intel and NYIDIA video cards. It would switch to the Intel when high graphics was not required then to the NIVIDIA when high graphics was required. The laptop does this to save power when high graphics is not required but it caused problems with some applications, specifically high graphics games.
For me the solution was to disable the Intel graphics processor. You can do this by right clicking on your Wallpaper, select the NIVIDIA Control Panel, then select Set Physx Configuration. You will see a dropdown box labeled Select Physx Processor. It is set to Auto by default. This allows the switching I described. Select this dropdown box and select your NIVIDIA processor. This will prevent the laptop from switching and force it to use your NVIDIA processor exclusively.

What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption etc?

What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption, crator, sublocation , label etc? Where & how is the information used? Where does it appear?

Keywording is primarily for your own use for finding photos fast.
Title, Caption, etc are also for your own use but can be used by your clients or your stock company if you do not <Minimize Embedded Metadata> on export. Keywords are also included on export but are hardly of any use to others - unless you follow a standard for keywording.
You have the option of selecting title, caption, etc to appear in a Slide Show, on Print, or on a webpage created with LR.
If you go to the LR Help menu and type "title", or "caption" in the search box you will find plenty of advice for this.

Rollover Images and Captions

Can anyone give me a short, step by step way to
create rollover images with captions. I couldn't manage to get that
done, and when I read the Help screens within the application, it
didn't help either.
In particular, here was the problem: I was in Storyboard with
the slide highlighted that I wanted to add the rollover image and
caption. When I went up to the Insert drop-down menu and clicked on
Rollover Images, there were no images; I was simply taken to My
Documents.
I hope somebody can help. I've spent more than 4 hours trying
make this work. I'm SURE it's some little detail that I've failed
to pay attention to.

Hi Dean,
The "little detail that (you) failed to pay attention to" is
just that. In order to insert an image, you have to select the
image to insert. Use Windows Explorer (from \\My Documents\) to
navigate to \\My Documents\My Pictures\ or whereever else you keep
the image you wish to insert, and select it. Understand, it is up
to you to provide the image . . . it's not like you are selecting
from Captivate's own image gallery (though that is a cool idea, now
that I think of it - LOL!)
Your question indicates to me there might be some confusion
about what you want. You said you want "rollover images with
captions". There are rollover images which are just images to which
a mouseover action has been applied, and there are rollover
captions which are just normal captions to which a mouseover action
has been applied ... but there are no rollover images
with captions. The only way to have a rollover display a
caption is to create it yourself. And the "step-by-step" for doing
that is totally dependent on which image editor you are using
(Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Paint, etc.). But the gist of it is
below.
1) Open the image in your image editor - or create it there
2) Expand the canvas to create extra "blank" space on the
image (for the caption)
3) Use the "Text" tool to create your caption text and add it
to that blank space.
4) Save the image - BMP format works very well, but any
format supported by Captivate.
5) Close the image editor
6) Open or switch to Captivate and the slide on which you
want to place it.
7) Select "Insert > Rollover Image"
8) Select the image (with its included caption)
9) Set its attributes and position it on the slide.
Hope this helps. The reason you wont' find this in the "Help"
files is because it is a creative use of images that is not a
supported function of Captivate itself. If you would like to see
future versions of Captivate support the creation of
images-with-captions, the way to do it is to submit it as a feature

Translation - Reduce spacing between label and value

Hi all,
I have translated the text in multi languages. I am not able to adjust the gap between Text and input field.
For example:
Now displaying :
1. Lang   'EN' -> Customer : SAP
2. Lang   'FR' -> Client:        SAP
3. Lang   'DE' ->   kunde        SAP
I need to display as:
1. Lang   'EN' -> Customer : SAP
2. Lang   'FR' -> Client: SAP
3. Lang   'DE' ->   kunde: SAP
Concatenate could not be done as i have to display field label in bold.
So I want to reduce the gap between Field label and its content. Above example for english the gap is less but for other langauges gap or spacing is more. How to reduce the spacing?

If you are simply outputting this information from data bound to the form the you may be able to use a floating field instead of a field and caption. You can just use a text element and then go to Insert->Floating Field while editing the text. You can then bind the floating field to the data connection as usual and the length of the text will vary depending on the content at runtime.

Address Labels and Merge?

Is there a way to produce address labels and do a Mail Merge from a database with pages? I have Filemaker 9, and would like to do a mail merge to customize letters. I know that I can make address labels from Filemaker, but I would like to know if I can do it with Pages too.

Kevin,
The short answer is no. This question comes up frequently. Pages will do a merge of a single address, and that's it, but it won't fill a page with addresses -- if that's what you're looking for. There are many programs that will do what you want, one of which is Mail Factory. Nice program, too.

Dynamic Page Rendering (based on the difinition for labels and field setup)

We have a requirement to display pages dynamically based on the setup or configuration for labels and fields.
1. For example (the display page will look like):
Company Name: -------------------------
DB No:
2. Setup for this will be in a UI (saved to the database):
Page Seq Label Field type size
1 1 Company Name comp_nm text char(50)
1 2 DB No db_no number
The pages will be rendered through the database procedure for the above.

I mean the definitions for the page like labels, text fields will be setup as this page will change as per the business requirements.
We are open to sql or xml if the db procedure will not work.
The objective is to give the business user to add anything to the page (for example, we have a lot of questions which changes in time due to specific business needs), so that the user can add a question or disable one based on the need.

how do i have subsequent fields label and values move down the page dynamicly...
the field in question "can grow" and can become quite big...overlaping the content of the fileds below...how can i make the fields below this large field move dyanmically so there is no overlap?

if it is the same field and it is set to can grow you just need to make sure you put space between by inserting a section below
