in essgbpdata~sap.com, label display property instead of label name.
Eg : Address label show like view.DetailView.TransparentContainer_1.Form_Of_Address.text: in ESS portal

Is all the lables are you seeing dynamic or static for other UI Element in the Details View?
Looks like Label is coming dynamically. can you elobarate your issue?

PDF displaying characters instead of text

I have a user that is trying to view a PDF using Acrobat X and has random characters display instead of text. Other users with Acrobat X are able to view the document fine as well as other users who have previous version of Reader. I have tried running a repair on the installation as well as disabling protected mode at startup. Any idead on what to do? This is on the display for this user not printing.

As Jogn said you would have to use the planning connection. The smart lists used in planning are not in Essbase. Essbase stores the smartlist ID number not the text value.

.csv file displaying "square" instead of text

Hi experts,
My program is using the function module 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1' to send attachment in .csv format.
However, when viewed, the 1 of the column in the .csv file are all "square" symbol, instead of text. But it was displaying correctly in my screen as normal text, but view in other pc, it was diplayed as "square" symbols.

While you create a report or BDC program or any program, we get a pop-up initially asking the attributes, there a option is available for Uni-code checking. Try to see whether it is checked, if not check it.

In BEx excel query, filter is displayed as text instead of key. I've changed the ojects properties to display as Key, but still displays text in query. Is there a way to change this??

Sharepoint lookup column displaying ID instead of text value in PowerPivot window

I exported the datafeed into the PowerPivot. However, the lookup columns that appear in the PowerPivot shows the ID of the value, instead of the text value. How do I get the values to appear in the PowerPivot instead of the ID.

BEx Wad 7.0 displays key instead of text when text value is blank

Hi,
I have a query which behaves differently in BEx Analyzer and in a Web Template. I have a characteristic which is set to display text and key. The key is "100" and the text field is not filled out in the text table of the characteristic for key value "100".
In BEx Analyzer, the text field shows a blank value. However, in WAD the text field displays the key which is "100". I need to display the text field as blank in WAD, but it seems like this is not possible. Do you know a way to achieve this?
I need to export to Excel from WAD, so I guess javascript will not be a proper solution.

Workbook refresh displays key instead of text

Hi,
We are on NW2004S rampup. Our support pack level for Quality environment is 7. When we execute the workbook in management cockpit in transaction UMM_PRES, the calendar month is displayed as text. When we refresh workbooks, the calendar month changes from text to key., like from Jan 2006 - May 2006 to 01/2006 - 05/2006. This happens for every refresh. On the other hand when we log back and display, text is shown and with every subsequent refresh key is displayed. This does not happen in Quality system under 3.0b version. My search on OSS notes does not get any relevant one. Anyone having similar experience?

I am able to get the result as text only after each refresh. This is made possible as follows:
In RSD1, I changed the following under BEX tab.
Display changed to Text
Text type changed to medium type
The Text type is new one in 2004S as compared to 3.x.

Report displaying numbers instead of text.

Hello Everyone,
We have a planning application. I created a smartview report for employees, their hiring justification and man months. I tried to create a this report through by connecting to essbase server. In the report, I got random numbers for the text data (like 1431 for hiring justification of an employee). Later I found out that the text data was loaded through smartview to planning server, and not to Essbase server. Thats probably the reason I am seeing (Indexes) numbers for text fields.
Is there a way to still generate the report from essbase server, or do we have to load that data to essbase app of the planning application ?

How to add image as radio button label instead of text

In a pure AS3 project, is there a way to add use an image placed in the library/ Flex/AIR SDK compiler path instead of text as a radio button label?
I've tried substituting character may unicode like:
rb1.label = String.fromCharCode("0x2592");
But how this displays is dependent on the device, font character availability. Displays unpredictably.
Would prefer anyway to use an image that I can create in AI.
Any help appreciated.

OK. I tried this, and it works.
(Hopefully, the image will display in the same location, next to the radio button, on different devices.)

would work in JSF, so I won't be able to talk others into using JSF, unless I can get the validation to display an

OK, I noticed a bug in my validate method. This is updated to fix the bug, and to include the recomendation about background-image:

and it worked for me:
1. Quit Word
2. In the Finder's menu bar, select Go > Go to folder and type or paste: ~/Library/Preferences/
3. Click on Go
4. Locate the preference file com.microsoft.Word.plist, then Option-drag it to the desktop to create a backup copy
5. Go to Applications/Utilities and open Terminal
6. Paste the following bold command at the $ prompt (it's a single line):
defaults write com.microsoft.Word 14\\Toolbars\\Show_HIToolbar -boolean TRUE
7. Press Return and then quit with Command Q
8. Start Word and test. If the fix works, trash the backup file in the Desktop file. Otherwise, restore it.
In the original source the author also mentions the change in Word 2008

In BeX only Key is display instead of Text in filter value

Hi,
Our company migrated from BW 3.0b to BI 7.0 Netweaver 2004s recently.
Before the migration, a value in the Filtersection of an executed query in the BEx Analyzer was displayed as text. Now after the migration it always displays the key instead of text.
If i put the same InfoObject in the Free Characteristics than it shows text like i choosed in the display section of the properties.
Do you have any clue why?

Try to be on the latest SP available as a part of sanity check.
Try first to download latest FEP from service.sap.com/swdc
Download>Support Packages and Patches">SAP Frontend Components">SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS">SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 6.40>Win32>Bw700SP09P_904-10001615.exe.exe
download that file rename as .exe and execute it.

It used to display the names if there was a contact listed, now it just shows numbers regardless of whether or not the number corresponds to a contact name in the contact list. Can anyone help? I googled this problem and lots of folks have experienced it, however there is not a consensus for a resolution.

Alexandribill, I have been having the exact same issue. I got a new phone and restored my contacts. If the # doesn't have the area code first then the name isn't shown. I just added my husbands area code to my phone and called my phone from his and now his name shows up...Ugh, I have to go through and manually add the area code to all my contacts....
I'd say Verizon needs to rewrite their program to include the area code in the restoring from backup process!

On job application sites, when I submit, a window opens in encrypted code instead of text. How do I change this to allow the window to display text?

On the various steps to an online job application, when I click on submit, instead of a window with a text file popping up a window pops up with html or computer coding instead of text. How do I change this so I can properly utilize these site processes. I looked for the setting that allows both html and text and it is set to do so.

Transparent Background for a Label/Display item

I'm using Forms 10g.
I'd like to make the background of my labels (display items) transparent. i.e. it should be the same colour as the canvas (eg teal) instead of the ugly white default background.
Can anyone help?

Wait a minute! Abigail is not really asking for "transparent" background. All you need is for the background to have the SAME background color as the canvas.
All of our forms have that feature. Display-only fields have same background color as the canvas, update items have a white background, and the item where the cursor is located gets set yellow.
We do it with property classes and visual attributes. The canvas is assigned a Visual Attribute = "WINDOWBACKGROUND", and display-only fields are assigned a Visual Attribute of "DISPLAYITEM". Both visual attributes are assigned the same background color, with the foreground (text) color black and navy respectively.
We have mouse-click processes that allow the user to change the screen background color from the default to something they might like better. That process just changes the background color of the two visual attributes, and both the canvas and all the items' background colors change together.
