Label Printer -  to do color coding

I am looking for a printer, which could print labels with color coding.
Let me explain, what I am trying to acheive..
1.  I should be able to print labels, - labels of size 4  X 6 IN, or 3 X 2 IN or any sizes of label -- >  the label is not colored, just like any normal label, with white background, and data being printed in black color..(this is what all intermec and zebra printers do.. )
2. Label has barcodes --> linear bar codes as well as 2D Matrix barcodes... : This could be acheived by any of the Intermec printers (PM4i or 3400E ) or Zebra Printers.
3. The label should contain a colored strip based on the content of the packing box . for eg, if it is rubber part, the label should contain a Red color strip, if plastic then yellow color, if assembly then blue and so on...  A colored bar of  rectangular shape, (1 cm width and 3 cm long ).
Does anyone know any Printers out in the market, which could do this 3 rd step ?  (obviously along with first step and second step ).
I called Intermec and Zebra - they both dont have it...
Also, Please keep in mind that, these printer should be capable of printing these labels from SAP ---> ie, we will be calling a standard text (SO10), using the write_form, and these printer should be able to print it...
Any input, even a clue, will be of much help for me.
Thank you
Sujamol

From the top of my head, something like this.
IIF([Priority]="High", "<RED>" + [Description] + "</RED>", IIF([Priority]="Medium", <YELLOW>" + [Description] + "</YELLOW>", <GREEN>" + [Description] + "</GREEN>"))
But I vaguely remember you could assign colors to fields in the Calendar, so I think I did something else.
I think I created calculated fields where only one would have text depending on the Priority.
So let's say I created 3 calculated fields and added them all three to the calendar.
Only fields that contain text will show up.
Calculated Field Description Red: IIF([Priority]="High", [Description], "")
Calculated Field Description Yellow: IIF([Priority]="Medium", [Description], "")
Calculated Field Description Green: IIF([Priority]="Low", [Description], "")
But I never worked with On Demand Calendar, so you have to check what works best for you.
You can also check: How to Configure Standard Applet "Activity HI Calendar Applet" so it Displays Icons or Different Colors to Reflect the Status of the Activities? [ID 1373880.1]
And it looks like you have more control in Siebel 8 (again, I never worked with On Demand, so you have to check yourself).

    Abhishek,
Nice to see you here. Hope things are great at your end.
Thank you for the suggestion, but that is not going to serve my purpose. That would work perfect if, you are trying to print a barcode as well as color on a normal paper A4/Letter or so.
But what I need is to print on Labels - (4 X 6 label stationery, which come as rolls,  with adhesive strip beneath it )..also, that printer should be able to print a SAP standard text - with all the Label design codes.
I had almost found one with VIPcolor, not the perfect match - but still will serve our purpose -  tis very expensive - 6500 USD - and ink should be changed for every 20000 labels !!! also tis Inkjet - so might take atleast 15 seconds for each label.. Seems none of the Thermal printers could acheive this..

If you see the sample label images on that printer, that is the exact one, I am trying to achieve.
This one will work perfect with Bartender, the label seign software from Seagull Scientific,   and Bartender is mysap.com approved vendor - capable of integration with SAP - we could send data from SAP in form of Idocs or just flat file, which could trigger a print..(tis a beautiful pretty decent tool).

am still shopping around for the best one. ....

  • Labeling/color-coding within iTunes

I would like to color-code or label at the song or the playlist folder level for visual organization (like desktop folder labeling). I have done quite a bit of searching on MacUpdate and Versiontracker and cannot find any type of application that runs within iTunes that will allow this type of functionality.
Apple is behind the curve on allowing customization to the iTunes library in a lot of ways, but this is minor stuff you can do to your desktop and your mail files--why not songs?
Is there any third party apps that do this that I might have missed? I sort 99% of the music on my iPod by custom playlist, and color-coding/labeling would help me immensely. I'm a visual person but coverflow does nothing for me in this case.
    Thanks.

I'll second that notion - color labeling is something I've wanted for a long time. I'm going to go post feedback requesting this also. Ability to label playlists or playlist groups or folders would really be nice, especially when you have 100+ playlists. I'm an organization freak anyway, but it is true that the eye responds much faster to color than to large amounts of text.
There are so many other ways it could be useful. Example: you've imported a bunch of stuff and want to temporarily label chunks of it in the "Music" playlist until you can get it sorted. Or you could label something to make it stand out as a reminder to listen to, or an indicator that you've already listened to it.

  • Error Message:Can't print illustration. Color Management systems inconsistent.

I am getting this error message, "Can't print illustration. Color management systems are inconsistent." I just upgraded to CS5(from CS2) on a Dell Studio using an Epson WorkForce 1100 or an Epson Sylus NX400. I am a rank amateur in AI & have no idea how to fix this. I do not seem to have the option to turn off color management in either of my printers to default to AI. All I am trying to print are some labels using regular fonts and a few smoke brushes for color. These are not wildly colorful or complicated. I KNOW I should be using a Mac but I do not have one...sigh...
    Thanks for ANY help.
    Marion.

not sure I understand the core problem...but what happens if you Save As "Adobe PDF" and Convert to your Print Space there in Output (then print from Acrobat or place in InDesign, heck maybe even open the .pdf in Ai and try again):

  • My Color Coded Calendar Events Are Not Shown

My Color Coded Calendar Events are not displayed on my iphone. The events sync fine but they don't have the appearance that Outlook 2003 has. Dots on a calendar don't do me much good. What am I missing?

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that I saw in the "Intro to the new iphone" thing here on the apple site that this thing displayed the Label Color of my events. But no, I just watched it again and saw that it shows the different calendars I have in different colors. I'm very bummed (at myself for misunderstanding it). This is my first ianything so I'm not very familiar with apple. Is there somewhere that I can place an enhancement request?

  • Label printing for serial numbers out of production order

    Dear PP experts,
according to the standard help description, it should be possible to
print a label with barcode for each serial number generated for production order when printing shop floor papers.
As for the standard set up, the following forms are assigned for
production order object, where none of them seems to be a label type.
    LF01 PRT overview
    LG01 Object list
    LG02 Op. control ticket
    LG03 Job Ticket
    LG04 Kanban ticket
    LK01 Pick list
    LK02 Goods issue slip
    LK03 Goods receipt list
    LP01
    LP02
    LV01 Time ticket
    LV02 Confirmation slip
    LV03 Document links
    LV04 Operation Splitting
Some of the print programs contain the ser.number information though
none of them is designed for label printing. Does anyone know
further information how is the label printing intended to work for
    serial numbers in production order?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The process of scanning barcodes and label printing :
First u have to define the output type which has tobe attached with or linked to a "form" or "Smart Form" which displays a label layout.Through ABAP coding u have to link the object (any of the mentioned by u) with the "form or smart form".
So as u scan the barcode with serial number the label gets printed at the required stage of production order processing.
This includes the pure Technical stuff of coding.

  • Color coding of appointments please!!

I want to get an iPhone.. I really do but I refuse to do so until Apple releases an update that allows setting categories / labels and COLORS to appointments. For such and advance device the iPhone is very lacking on the whole calendar / contacts field. It has really bad options for adding information to a contact and the calendar needs better views!
I don't know if anybody from the iPhone development team ever goes over this forum, but if you do.. PLEASE add color coding (and make sure it syncs with the color coding on Outlook please).
Then you'll just have to release a 32GB version with 3G capabilities on a CDMA network like Sprint and I'm YOURS!

Why don't you give feedback yourself?

  • Calendars disappear/ color-coding of calendars keeps changing

I am using iCal and MobileMe to sync across two Macs. Here are my problems:
    - My events in iCal disappear -- all of them. I normally have five calendar categories (Home, Work, etc.), but often all of the calendars disappear along with the events. Quitting and restarting iCal tends to fix it, but this happens multiple times a day.
    - I keep changing the color labels for my calendars, and the labels don't stick. For example, if I make Home blue, often when I reopen iCal, it'll have changed to purple. I have a theory that the colors are set by the order in which the calendars appear in the left side of the screen (so I've tried to re-order them to my preference by dragging and dropping. This tends to make all of the calendars disappear (see above). Even when I change the color-coding, iCal overrides it. (One note on this: one of my calendars is published, and it's this calendar that constantly ends up at the top of the list and has its color label changed.)
    Greatly appreciate any help.

I'm having a problem with calendar colors, too. It's slightly different. When I try to sync, I get a conflict notice and the sync does not work. The notice says that colors do not match (i.e. work is blue on the mac and another color on the me.com site). However, both of the calendars ARE BLUE! I've tried selecting the mac version and the me.com version. My choice appears to be accepted. I get a syncing message and then the conflict notice reappears and I am not able to sync. Thankfully, I can sync with iPhone. I spent about 2 hours on support chat and they were unable to resolve this problem. I've deleted calendars (such as birthday) and am down to personal and work. Still no luck.

  • Wish: annotate workflow with separator, comment or color-coding

I've been developing a Finder workflow that has grown to 23 steps, and more are coming.
The workflow is broken up into segments to 2-4 actions each. I've customized the action names and collapsed each segment in order to better see the overall sequence.
The problem is the segments visually run together. If this were a programming language, I'd visually set off the first action of each segment with a blank line or a comment. I'd like to do the same with my workflows.
The thoughts that come to mind are a visual separator, a workflow comment, colored action names, and color-coding (a la Finder labels). I like coloring best because it doesn't take vertical space (a critical Automator resource).
[I submitted this as formal Feedback - Design/Ease of Use.]

Thanks, lc55, for contributing to this thread.
You could structure the workflow like a regular
program with a main workflow calling subsidiary
    workflows ....
That might add clarity to my long scripts, but at the expense of numerous small files, which seems like trading one problem for another.
Here again, conventional programming provide an excellent model to follow, with a main routine and a collection of subroutines in a SINGLE file.

  • Questions - Putaway label printing

    Hi all,
I need to develop a smartform to print the following putway label:
    i--|||--
    |
    i--|||--
    |
    BAR CODE
    material NO
    material desc
    bin location
    quantity
    date/time
Now for the bar code, the specification are as follows:
    Code128A Font min size 28
For this BAR CODE,do i need to use the std system  bar code C128A or C128A_00??
Also do I need to create a template in my smartform for the above format of the label or a table would be appropriate?
Also the bar code is a combination of 2 fields i.e. Item No and TO no.So in the text node for the bar code i will write the comcatenated value of these 2 fields and  include the bar code smart style  ...But how will this ensure that BAR CODE isprinted in form of thin lines? Is the BAR code prnted in form of line due to printer setting or I have to write something exclusively in smartform?
Also,do i need to use zebra printer for label printing or normal Laser printer will suffice?
    Please advice.
    Thanks.

    Dear Ram,
Through laser printer it is not possible....
If you are having ZEBRA Printer you can design the label in the ZEBRA DESIGNER that has been provided by ZEBRA.
After designing the form you save it as a text file by selecting the File Menu-> Print option.
Then you select the text file coding and paste it into SMARTFORMS and assign the variable for the respective fields...
Then use this function module in your driver program and execute it.
    In the same way,
If you are using the PRINTRONIX Printer you will have to design the label by using the NIice Label software.
And the rest of the procedure is same...
Hope this will help you to move further...

    Hi,
How do you color code the calendar items? From conditional formatting or from categories?
Please make sure the user has been given reviewer or higher calendar permission to view items colors in Outlook. About how to share calendar in Outlook, please refer to:

  • I have messages in mail that are color-coded as if by a rule, but I have no rules set. How can I correct this?

The only rule that I ever had in Mail was the default one that color coded messages from Apple blue. I notice that some messages are color-coded brown and I have no rules set at al (hence no rule to turn off.)  Some of the messages are related to viewing online magazine, but not all.  How can I stop this?

    Hi. Thanks for your message.
Well, I understand what you are trying to say but I thought it was easier to categorize in Apple Mail.
On Entourage I just click twice on a sender address, record it on Address book and give it a colour that I previously defined as "Work", "Personal", "Customers", "Suppliers", "Friends" or whatever.
As Apple Mail don't have Address Book as part of it but an outside feature it's very annoying. Of course I am used to use a software and I don't expect now Apple Mail do everything as Entourage but... as someone said it seems Apple Mail stopped in time. The recent version seems the first one ever issued. I hate the way Mail.app handles attachments by placing big chunky previews right in my email. I prefer them to be named attachments listed somewhere else, out of the content of my email. I don't if I can change this via terminal commands? Can you tell me if that is possible?
I don't understand why Apple Mail have lots of plugins instead of a great improvment from the backstage.
I use Apple computers since ever and I love this machines but sometimes I don't understand this lake of improvments.
Take a look at this link:
    http://scottworldblog.wordpress.com/2009/10/12/microsoft-entourage-vs-apple-mail /
Of course I don't agree 100% with him but some things are true...

  • Label Printing Using Address Book - How can I Print multiple labels of the same name?

Label Printing Using Address Book - How can I Print multiple labels of the same name?

I used to be able to print multiple copies of the same picture on one page using iphoto. There was a customise button when you went through to print and it was there somewhere. I can't see it anymore - maybe since an upgrade.
It's gone. But as a work-around, duplicate your photo (⌘D) to create as many versions as you want copies and select all at once. Then use the "Custom" print layout and set the photo size you want.
After printing, trash the added versions.

  • Is there a way to restore the earlier color-coding format?

If there is a workaround to restore the earlier color-tag format, I would love to know it.
In the alternative, I've submitted the following to Apple and wanted to share it with the community also, in case there is no workaround and others would like to add their voice in addressing the issue:
The new single-dot color coding of tags in Mavericks doesn't work for me AT ALL.
I have been relying on Apple's full-width color coding for quite some time because it could help me easily discern—at a glance—different file versions, project statuses, and other workflow particulars—without having to read the filenames' text.  In other words, it's been a convenient right-brain workflow.
The key here, of course, is the idea of "easily" and "at a glance."  The new Mavericks color coding both extends and confounds my workflow—I now must do an additional visual search of any given list of files, especially because my filenames are often long (informational) and their middle section (in the column view) is likely truncated to conform to Apple's default narrow column formatting.
The purpose and point of color coding is to reduce time and complexity and aid organization.  However, the Mavericks version now requires (1) doing a visual scan of an entire column of filenames, instead of a visual "grab" of whole bands of color without any need to read the filenames, (2) locating the color dots at the ends of those column lines and making sure they correlate with the proper text (left-brain/right-brain work instead of just staying right-brain), (3) making a color comparison of extremely small fields of color (tiny dots instead of full-wide bands), and (4) implementing a visual/mental check step to ascertain that that a particular color dot is the correct one. Because of the added confusion of having to do "manual" left-to-right visual placement, it becomes necessary to add the step of expanding the filenames (column widths) to get certainty.
I'm guessing that at this early point in the Mavericks proliferation you'll likely want to dig your heels in to defend and preserve all the involved and extensive work you did to produce the update, but I strongly urge you to revisit the particular design decision mentioned here.  It makes it tougher for us out here using the program, and it works against your PR efforts:  I'm now less likely to trust your design decisions and will be much less likely to implement future updates or champion them.
If I could uninstall Mavericks and get my previous version back, just for this one item alone, I would. It's been a mainstay feature for me, and one of the things I've lauded to non-Mac users to encourage them to venture Apple.

Downgrade Mavericks to Your Previous System
    For Lion or Mountain Lion
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to a Mountain Lion Installer app or USB flash drive installer:
Partition and Format the hard drive
          1. Select the target volume you wish to use.
          2. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu in the menubar.
          3. In Disk Utility select the target volume from the left side list. Click on the
Partition tab in the Disk Utility main window. Set the Partition Scheme to one
              (1) from the drop down menu. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended,
Journaled. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Quit the Main Menu to return to
              the installer.
Install Lion/Mountain Lion: Select install Lion or Mountain Lion and click on the Install button. .
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    For Snow Leopard or Earlier
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups made while on Snow Leopard, then you may do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion/Mountain Lion files.

  • How to print with NO COLOR MANAGEMENT in Photoshop CS6

    Hi,
I have been trying to print a target from i1Profiler so I can read it with my i1Pro and create a printer profile, but no matter what I do, there is no way to get photoshop from supplying a profile while printing. I tried to select Printer handles color and then put the printer driver in COLOR MANAGEMENT OFF (seemed to me this would disable both the printer managing color and photosbop managing color). Tried printing this way ( and many other ways) but NO SOLUTION --- the prints are EXTREMELY different from the on-screen view (which is in a properly profiled Apple monitor) and they actually look like the ones with a profile chosen.
I also tried the utility Adobe Color Printer Utility and same results!!
I am using an EPSON Stylus Pro 7900 that I just purchased.
    Please help

The key here is to actually actually go ahead and print the target from i1Profiler to your printer...in the Test Chart panel, create the test chart and click on Print instead of Save As. As long as you have the correct page size set in the Page Setup, you should get an accurate printer target to read. Depending on how many patches you have set, it may take a few pages but they will be properly formated for reading with the i1Pro...
