Label printing via material Number

Hi,
Is there a standard transaction and program that can be modified to print a label via material number?
The details to be printed on the label are:
Material Number and Barcode (based on material number)
Storage Bin
Material Description
Supplier name
Manufacturer part number
PO number and line item number
GRN date

For label printing, steps in transaction OMCF can be maintained.
Output Type WEE1 uses sap print program SAPM07DR.
Can the following data fields be retrieved from this program:
Material Number (MSEG-MATNR)
Bin Number (MSEG-LGPLA)
Material Description (Feed (MAKT-MATNR) Get (MAKT-MAKTX))
Supplier Name: Feed (MSEG-MBLNR) get (MSEG-EMLIF)
MSEG-EMLIF=LFA1-LIFNR
Feed (LFA1-LIFNR) get (LFA1-NAME1)
Supplier Material Number: Feed (EKPO-EBELN) get (EKPO-IDNLF)
PO number and Item: Feed (MSEG-MBLNR) get (MSEG-EBELN) and (MSEG-EBELP)
GRN Date: Feed (MKPF-MBLNR) get (MKPF-BLDAT)

Print the label to a printer with device type PDF1. This creates a pdf file and attaches it to an email. Very neat and very easy.

Printing 'material number' in vertical manner in smartforms

i am printing a smartforms where in the output i have to print a variable in the vertical format.... how can i rotate the variable to print it in the vertical manner... please do help me out.... its very urgent.....

if you want to print only 'material number' text in secondary window... make secondary window width minimal 1 ch and increase the height of window
you will get the result in Veritical. result for materi number.
if you want to print material number variable in mainwindow / seconarday window ,
Create a font using SE73 , go to System barcode - change mode
select the line "KUNAUNR Kundenauftragsnumme", dbclick. , you can see
no barcode type mentioned, like this, create new barcode sytem font and finally give the rotation % , we have 4 different %, 0, 90,180, 270, you this font in your character font/ paragraph font, you can get the result. but make sure printer should support this functionality

Hazardous material number in PO

Hi,
can some one please tell me how to get Hazardous material number in PO.
I tried searching for the field but could not find it any where.
We would like to print Hazardous material number in the PO output and also use it as part of customized reports.

The hazardous material number is not available in in the PO.
It is just a internal definition within your company, it would not tell your vendor anything. It is used to classify materials according to the hazards of the material.
It would make some sense if you would put the characteristics of the hazmat onto the PO, but the just the number.......
in any case you would need to change the form and the print program, and if want it as well in the PO tables, then oyu have to use user exits and table extensions.

Reprint Labels via material document in MB90

Hi,
By slecting the output type of the label and entering the material document in transaction MB90, can the number of labels printed be entered in the standard print output option screen in the field number of copies?

If the user has maintained "Set Label printout" in customising (IMG > Material Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Print Control > Set label printout)
and has maintained the "Determined Quantities" for the material's "Label Form and Label Type" as MSEG-BSTMG (Goods receipt quantity example 10).
When the user reprints the label through MB90, but he only wants 1 not 10 labels to be printed, is this possible?

Problem in continuous Material Label Printing

Hi Experts,
          I am using SAP Script for Material Label Printing and Dot-matirx printer for printing.
          There are 6 labels getting printed on a Page. There is no problem in printing but what happens,
          whenever there is a new material getting printed, it skips the current page and resumes the
          printing from new page.
          Example. there are 8 labels for a Material-1 and 3 labels for Material-2. 6 labels for
          Material-1 would print on 1st Page, the rest 2 would print on 2nd page. Now the 3 remaining
          labels for Material-2 are getting printed on 3rd page which should get printed on 2nd Page itself
          as there is space for 4 more labels on 2nd page.
          Please help me out on this.

every material there will be started an new sapscript (probably)
You will have to change your program that way that all materials and belonging data comes into 1 internal tab.
If you print this tab in 1 big loop (instead of a nested loop for everymaterial) everything will go fine.

Add Competitor Material via MMW1 but material number exists

Master Data Experts:
1. We are adding material type WETT competitor materials via tcode MMW1. However, we have many cases where our competitor number is the same as one of our own existing physically different material numbers. When we try to add the material, we get the hard error message "Specified material already assigned to material type xxxx" and cannot add the competitor material number.
2. Similarly, we have many cases where more than one of our competitors use the same material number, so we cannot add more than one as a competitor number.
3. Lastly, we have some competitor material numbers that are more than 18 characters long, and due to the SAP limitation of 18 characters we cannot add these competitor numbers via MMW1.
These scenarios have never worked before, there is no ABAP related user exits, etc, and no changes done before the problem occurred. We understand that under the single instance system you cannot add the same material number more than once, and we have a company policy system in place so our businesses will not have these material number collisions. However, we cannot control what material numbers our competitors use, so we need some way to remedy this so we can add competitor numbers even though they may already exist.
Any help that can be given would be appreciated,

In fact, I already tried to leave the matnr field with blanks and for a material type which use internal numbers range. I hoped/thought it would have worked as you said but it wouldn't.
About the external old numbers I keep, I think I don't have to use the field external_number of the E1MARA1 segment, because some of my tests showed me that it works good. Moreover, I don't really understand the reason why this field exists because the field matnr is here for.
I presume that the external_number is maybe for another use I don't know, aren't you ?
I've never used this segment for data take over.
Do you know if the principle you described in your previous mail is also the same to apply to customers & vendors idocs ?

Unable to print number of copies on label printer

Hi Everyone,
I am able to print smartform any number of copies on standard printer.
But when I change from standard printer name to Label printer name and execute the smartform with number of copies ( greater than 1 ).
For label printer I am able to print only one copy, irrespective of number of copies specified. However I can able to number of copies specified for standard printer.
Can anyone help me what could be the reason? Is that any settings should be done for label printer ?

The problem might be a corrupt preference. Does this problem occur with all applications? If not, which application?
Try Repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility.

LE-WM-TO Label Printing error

We have various forms of labels to be printed whenever a TO is created and confirmed. For eg, Z_PUT2_NOTO_NOBIN prints a label with material number, its description, batch, Qty etc without TO number and Bin number on it. Similarly, ZPUT3_TO_BIN prints a label with material number, its description, batch, Qty etc with TO numbr and Bin number on the label.
Since ECC 6.0, we find that the label that that gets printed via ZPUT3_TO_BIN does not have material description on it. Although the label template for ZPUT3_TO_BIN has material description as one of its field.
Could anyone suggest what the problem could be.

These are Z forms (custom). An attempt should be made to answer this question on the possible reasons why we don't see a field on the label though the form has it.

Pallet Label print after TO of Goods receipt of process Order

Hello,
After the GR of Process Order I need to prin tthe Pallet label through Transfer Order.
Example .. CH-6200 ( SKU Product ) is produce 60 kg.. after process Order..
The output of the process order is nothing but the 6 can each of 10 kg.
Now My pallet limitation is 2 can per pallet which I have maintained in the Material master ( Warehouse Management View 2: 2 can per pallet)
Not I want to prin the the pallet label i.e. during TO ....number of label is going to print are 3.. ( 2 can per pallet) .
Can anyone suggest me is there nany standard form for Pallet Label print in WM.

Problem printing horizontal text in smartform with zebra Z6M label printer

The situation is this:
There is a Z smartform wich prints a label to a zebra Z6M label printer with the text and barcodes vertically.
The form have a command in the main windows with the parameter: S_LZPL_SETUP '^FWR'
This label works fine, but the client want to change the form, they have told me to create a new smartform and print the info horizontally, using the same printer.
The tests i have done are the following:
create a smartform from ground and write a template text and a barcode with a new font of system barcodes. the bardoce is shown ok(it is shown horizontally), the problem is that the template text is shown vertically, as in the original smartform.
then i tried on another zebra ZM600 label printer, similar model, but not the same, and the smartform printed was ok (text and barcodes shown horizontally). So i think is a configuration setting problem, but i dont know where to search.
i have checked the label printer parameters in SPAD, but didnt find anything souspicios.
have you any idea?

goto smartform styles-> create a style-->
create a character format.
under standard settings give the bar code name
use this style in ur smartform. select the data field which u want to barcode print and assign the character format

open the form and click the character format button and
repeat the step as above....

you can give its type too.
To Create a Bar code prefix:
1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
<C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.

Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
a barcode printer
a barcode reader
a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

Inventory management - Label printing - How this will work

In Material Master under Plant data/Storage location 1 we have Label type and Label Form. How to make use of this?
We have in IMG under inventory management> messages> Print control> Label printing. how to configure to get desired number of labels to be printed?

Hemanth - I am having the same problem. No matter which data element I choose, number of labels printed are based on base unit of measure. I want to use E3 for label count based on order unit of measure but I cannot make this work.

Label printing at Goods Receipt using SMARTFORMS and Zebra software

Hi Experts,
Upon designing a functional design for the printing of labels upon goods receipt and a re-print through MB90 I would like to understand the procedure on how the label gets printed. From what I understand the following steps are done:
A label is designed in the Zebra application tool.
The file is downloaded from the application and uploaded into SAP
A SMARTFORM is created in SAP and assifned to a new output type.
The new output type is assigned to the Zebra Printer.
Is there any need for an abap program to be written, if so when and what is its purpose?

Label printing vertically

Hi all,
I need to print the labels vertically in the below manner.

I have done printing horizontally, is the above pattern possible??

Hi sandra... thanks fr the reply.... these numbers are the label numbers in the same page.. and the orientation is portrait... here once again i write the required pattern.

in each label we need to print the bar code along with the material number... I just need the logic for printing in the above pattern using SMARTFORMS.

Label print when stock counting

Hi
screnaio: when stock counting is done, it must be possilble to print the lables when unmarked items are found. how should i configure for the print out ??
I am assuming that the requirement is belongs to transcation type WI with MI01,MI04 and MI07.
while posting of physical invetory document with MI07 material document is automatically cretaed. so i am taking the print out of this material document with MB90. but printout is not comming. only logo is printing.
please let me know & what the print setting for transcation type WI (with transcation MN22) of label.
or
should i creat a new print indicator for inventory difrences as 7 with form -INVENT and program RM07IDRU for my requirement??

I am summrising my question:
"when you add new inventory during inventory count - you get a material document with the added items. And from that material document we want to be able to print labels for the items it contains."
How to resolve this issue for Transcation type WI.
Background:
1.I was configured &developed a new smartform for GR lable with transaction type WE --> successful printing OK
2. For transcation type WA -- printing OK
3. for transcation type WI- printing the l;ayout with any material number , material documnet details
For working to transcation type WI, i was maintained condition records MN22 with plant/WI/pprint indicator/label form etc with config settings.
Note: i am using the same output type for GR with WE, WA and WI.
after executing MI01,MI04 and MI07.. for diffrence in physical inventory document posted with"material documnt" for mvmnt 701 and 702.
Now i want to take the this material documnet print. but in the print output only compnay logo is printing with out any material number,batch number,material document.
Please guide me how to proceed further with this situation...
