Labelling errors
When saving images as PSDS in photoshop CS3( using save as )and giving them a label,the image fails to save in a recognisable file.This file is then impossible to open.What I have found is if I type in any old letters eg yyy the photo is saved correctly, and I can then rename it with what I had intended.Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Make sure that the .psd is included in the name of the file. In the ones that won't open rename and add .psd to them?

Corrupt disk label error when running explorer
I am getting corrupt label error in one of the disks when running explorer on T5120 server. I observed this behaviour in /var/adm/messages.
Well we don't have any database on this server. This server is a mail server & they don't require raw devices. I checked iostat on the disk & there is no activity on the disk.
I ran format command & got the info below. I checked the partition table of the disk & i guess there is something wrong with the partition table.

Can i try labeling the disk? -
Boot image does not exist and cannot read disk label errors.
Hi - I'm having a problem with installing Solaris 9 4/04 on a Netra T1. The Netra already has Solaris 7. I need to get this set up as a jumpstart server but it can't find the boot image. I'm using a brand new bonafide installation disk - not a copy. The system won't let me install/upgrade to Solaris 9 either. I get an error stating that disk label can't be read. I've tried swapping out the CDROM but I still get the same errors. Does anyone know what or why this may be happening? (Oh - and another strange thing - like I said the CDs are the original but there doesn't appear to be a cdrom/cdrom0/s0 directory. The directory I see is cdrom/cdrom0/sol_9_404_sparc/Solaris_9/Tools)
ERROR: Install boot image /cdrom/sol_9_404_sparc/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot does not exist

I appreciate any help at all - is there anyone out there who can tell me what I may be doing wrong?
ThanksHi check that you are booting of the right cd. Make sure it is soalris 9 software 1/2 if that fails then it may well be that your cd is buggered. most likely it is buggered it it cant find the boot image.

Example application "Threshold And Label" error
I have licenced Vision Development Module. A have successfully activated it on my developer computer. Now I want to
1) Develop Msvc-project, using VDM functions library (functions, declared in nivision.h),
2) Build an executable application and
3) Run it on other computer, that is a part of a real vision system.Steps 1-2 I have passed easily: I took en example project "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Vision\Examples\MSVC\Threshold And Label", builded application "Threshold And Label.exe". This application works well on my developer cumputer. But step 3 fails: then I run "Threshold And Label.exe" on other computer, an error message falls out:Can you advise anything?Hi,
My first advice would be to put something like this to the Machine Vision Forums, rather then into LabVIEW forum when you even don't use LabVIEW.
Second advice, well it's more a question the a advice: Did you install and activate the VDM and Vision Acq runtime license on the target machine?

Field Label error in code inspector
Hello ,
I am working in release 6.0 . An i tring to release one transport
Code inspector is giving following error on screens .
"Field label has a fixed font instead of proportional font
When I press on info button i got following message
A field name that has the attribute "Equidistant font" was found. Field names should all be output in proportional font.
Procedure
Correct the "Equidistant" flag for this field in the Screen Painter.
Do you know how we can correct Equidistant flag ?
Please advice
KrstoYou get this error because one of the labels have the "Fixed Font" set and the visible length is less than the default length.
You can find all this fields on the properties of the label.
To avoid this warning, set the visible length as the default length.

A label error such as &P1_Q1
hi everybody, i am new oracle technology and i develop a survey application. I tried a survey that locates in this address :
http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-mar/o26browser.html
I create list of multiple items, they are hidden and their names are from P1_Q1 to P1_Q8. They are question. It is okey until this moment. Then, i create list of multiple items, they are radiogroup( choices of questions ), they names are from P1_A1 to P1_A8. Their labels are from &P1_Q1 to &P1_Q8. But when I run my application, i saw &P1_Q1 , &P1_Q2 .. instead of my questions.
I added processes there are no problem. I saw my question when I type necessary query to sql commands. What is the problem?
thanx...i solved this problem. i forgot to put a dot end of the variables. such as "&P1_Q1."

Changing label and displaying errors
If you change the label of a standard field, e.g. Change the label of the Opportunity field 'Prospect' to 'Sold-To Account' (we do the B2B scenario), using the BSP Workbench, then how do you change the error if a Sold-To account is not entered? Currently, it references the word 'Prospect' instead of 'Sold-To'.
Nicolas, yes we thought of modifying the partner function too. But the problem we also have is that our users are wanting to change other labels where the errors are not linked to Partner Functions, e.g. Closing Date to Estimated Closing Date (Reason being is that we have an Actual Closing Date too). There are other label changes that the business wants to change that do have valid business merit.
I guess our frustration is that although SAP have made it easy to change labels through the BSP workbench, they really haven't thought the issue through to reflecting this in the error messages - unless I'm missing something. I was hoping that someone would prove me wrong.
We are therefore looking at having to create our own LUT to translate the standard SAP errors into our renamed label errors, so that the users know where the errors are. Not a great solution. -
Error message "F" using Menu Builder
I have created two movies, saved them as .cp files and also
exported them as EXE files. I inserted the the EXE versions as
Items into a MenuBuilder project. I save that project as an .mpg
file and exported it as an EXE file as well. What I wanted to do
was send this project as an e-mail to an associate. When they open
it (Lotus Notes) they get a pop-up box that is labeled "Error" and
the only description is the letter F. An OK click box closes the
pop-up. My question is, can I send an exe movie in an exe proejct
so a user can run it without having to access an .swf file? any
help is appreciated, thanks!Hi [email protected]
The reason for the F error sounds like you only shipped a
single file. The MenuBuilder .EXE file. From what you are
describing, it sounds like you are fundamentally misunderstanding
how these work. The .EXE produced from MenuBuilder will not include
the other Captivate movies inside it. You must ship those as well.
So you E-Mail the three .EXE files, your user saves them all to the
same folder, then the MenuBuilder should work.
Hopefully this helps... Rick -
Server errors result in blank pages with security enabled
I have been working to security-enable my ADF 11 application using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.0. Users, roles and grants all appear to be working as expected. However, I have discovered that server errors no longer appear once I put security in place.
For example, take a simple JSPX page with one button, and attach an actionListener to the button. In the actionListener, throw an exception. When no ADF security is in place, this results in a 500 server error page, and the exception stack trace (or part of it) is written to the Weblogic console inside JDeveloper. Once ADF security is in place, the behavior changes. The result is a blank page (absolutely no content). Even worse, the exception stack trace is no longer written to the Weblogic console.
I have tried to work around this by setting an <error-page> in web.xml, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I do know that my <error-page> configuration works in general, because I have a "not authorized" error page set up to catch the ADF AuthorizationException, and that is displayed properly. I have also seen the error page invoked for errors that happen earlier in the rendering process (for instance, if I forget to set a default page in my bounded task flow).
I don't have any idea where to start on this. Google hasn't been much help, possibly I don't know what I'm looking for.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
KENWe have found a solution to this problem, which we are going to go with until something better pops up.
In the main unbounded task flow (adfc-config), we added a method call marked as the error-handler. In the method call, we log the exception, something like this:
public void handleException() {
Exception e = ControllerContextImpl.getInstance().getCurrentViewPort().getExceptionData();
e.printStackTrace(System.err);
}Then, the method call forwards to a JSP to display the error:
<af:inputText label="Error" value="#{controllerContext.currentViewPort.exceptionData.message}"/>That gets us the equivalent of the old behavior.
I still find it kind of strange that errors aren't displayed once security is enabled, but at least there is a workaround.

I know that this topic has been submitted a million times, but I need personal attention now. The topic discussions have been really helpful except for the fact that my ichat video STILL DOESN'T WORK. I read and do all the sets of advice and instructions and STILL NOTHING.
My main message usually always says, " '[name of my computer]' did not respond.' The only differing message I've received is from my mom's laptop (a Dell Latitude D610, Intel) which says that " '[name of her computer] has declined'. I've checked out the error reports which are always labeled (error -8).
Once I was able to connect, with absolutely no hitch, when I was sent an all out video conference chat from a G4 Mac about 4 months ago. My ichat hasn't worked since which is why I've been trouble shooting since then.
Based off of the advice, I opened ports 5060, 5190, 5220, 5222, 5297, 5298, 5353, 16384-16403 on both TCP and UPD and turned the firewalls off in one then turned them on again.
I've read the iChat support and they all say that they are compatible with tons of operating systems and platforms. But, my video still doesn't work to other computers or work in general. Please can someone tell me how to get this to work? Puhleeeease. I've been at it for months now....

Thanks!
I, too have had the same problem, but only recently — maybe coincident with recent updates to iChat — and I too would like to know what error -8 means.
I am running a Dual 1GHz PowerPC G4 Mac with automatically updated software, connected via ADSL at 512/128. The Internet Interface is a router/firewire/switch/modem (D-Link DSL-G604T) and I have programmed it to keep the required ports open. The audio input is from an iSight: audio out to some external speakers from line out. Programming hasn't been changed for months, and the problem has only occurred recently, so it doesn't look like a Firewall or address translation problem.
In my case, I tried several things:
1. I tried to initiate an audio chat with someone who has a Mac Mini PowerPC with most updates on it, and a 56K modem. I have had many audio chats over many months with this person.
Some days ago, it failed to complete a connection with the comment that my end didn't answer. I take this to mean that the final handshake message from the my end wasn't sent, since the connect window indicated the other side had responded positively.
The buddy on the other end then initiated an audio chat session to which I responded. This time, error -8 was accompanied with a message that the other side had failed to respond to the final handshake.
I presumed that it was some sort of glitch either on the network or in my computer and we finished the conversation on the phone. The system has been rebooted several times in the meantime, and the integrity of the system disk checked: that should have got rid of any local anomolous state
2. The exact same thing happened today when I attempted to communicate with a new buddy introduced through email. This new buddy has recent (but unknown to me) Mac equipment running OS X, and a broadband connection.
We were testing the connection after she had set up iChat with an AIM screen name to be ready for a Saturday sched to step her through installation of some difficult to set up software.
At that point, I realised my first failure wasn't a system glitch, and found this message board.
So, any help from anybody?
Keep in mind that this is a recently-introduced problem on a stable (other than Apple updates?) system that has been running on audio and even one-way video with 4 different buddies (three on Macs and one on Win XP with AIM) for months.

Error while changing the Resource Object Status
Hi,
I am trying to change the resource object status from Waiting to Provisioned for a self service task. Before approval I see the Resource Object Status as " Ticket Sent To REMEDY" on the administrator's web console and at the Requestor's web console I get the following error message-
???en_US.global.viewProfileForm.Lookup.Ticket-Sent-to-REMEDY???
But after approval, based on the completion the task, the process on both the consoles is set to provisioned. That is what I want to display but the problem comes when the requestors sees the error status message on its console before approval.
Can any body tell me the reason of the above error and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advancedo you have any custom written event handlers getting triggered off after request submission or during approval?
It might also be due to either a browser issue or you might have missed any entry in the xladmin properties file for a custom label/error message etc. -
Why do I get an error when I try to configure a channel with the tktds7x4 driver?
I use the TDS754D scope. My complete function call is:
errStatus = tktds7x4_ConfigureChannel( ScopeHandle, "CH1", 5.0, 2.0, TKTDS7X4_VAL_DC, 1.0, VI_TRUE);
When I step through it, I see that I get an error on the driver line
viCheckParm(Ivi_SetAttributeReal64 (vi, channel, TKTDS7X4_ATTR_VERTICAL_RANGE, 0, range), 3, "Range");
I'm also getting an error with tktds7x4_ConfigureEdgeTriggerSource
I just downloaded and installed this driver, and it is the first time I have tried to use it. I'm running it in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, but it is a C program.I hadn't done too much debugging when I wrote the question. All I knew was that I got a timeout error when I used that call. Over the weekend I tracked it down to a problem in the function tktds7x4_InvalidateTriggerAttributes, and specifically, the line
checkErr( Ivi_GetAttributeViString (vi, VI_NULL, TKTDS7X4_ATTR_INSTR_COMM_TRIGGER_SOURCE, 0, BUFFER_SIZE, triggerSource));
My scope does not have the 2C option, so there is no communication trigger function. When the driver queries the communication trigger source, the scope apparently does not return anything because it does not understand. I added the lines
if (!strcmp(triggerSource, channelName))
checkErr (Ivi_InvalidateAttribute (vi, VI_NULL, TKTDS7X4_ATTR_TRIGGER_LEVEL));
checkErr(
Ivi_GetAttributeViInt32(vi, VI_NULL, TKTDS7X4_ATTR_INSTR_OPTIONS, 0, &options));
if (isOpt2C)
before that line of code (at line 7360), along with a closing brace before the label "Error:"
Also, at line 399, I added the following 3 lines:
{ "CH1" , "CH1" },
{ "CH2" , "CH2" },
{ "CH3" , "CH3" },
{ "CH4" , "CH4" },
even though the comment for triggerSourceStringTableEntries says that it is for non-channel sources only. I am not positive that it was necessary, but I think it was.
With those changes, the driver now works correctly for me. I have attached my updated driver source code. I am never happy to change a commercial driver, though. If someone were to re-download this driver and re-install it, all my changes would be lost, and the driver would no longer work.

"Disk read error occurred" cannot even load System Recovery
Hello,
yesterday I powered on my computer, and it was almost froze, with only the mouse moving and even the task manager not showing up when called.
I first tried to make it go in standby, as I thought it was some program which didnt start as planned. After I closed the screen , the screen went black, but the pc continued to run. I then pressed the power button, shutting the system the hard way.
After that, I powered back the pc, which now only showed "Disk read error occurred, press ctrl+alt+del to restart" and obviously this wasnt the solution. I tried resetting the BIOS, then running the diagnostics on f2: it ALWAYS passes the test the first time, then if i try to run the diagnostics again, it says "NOT INSTALLED". I tried running the system recovery on f11, but the same "disk read error" appears.
I-ve already confirmed the problem lies in the hard disk itself {hitachi 750gb}, having plugged it in another notebook with an hitachi hard disk and still showing the same problem, while the other hard disk booted just fine in my HP.
I tried with a win7 cd, both recovering and installing a new version, but they both kept frozen for about 1 hour and did nothing.
I then made a bootable USB with Trinity Recovery Kit and after a quick diagnostic, it said boot partition has "unclean" windows files and tried fixing the problem, without success. I-m now writing from a bootable USB linux distro, because i cannot find a bootable iso oh hitachi recovery program, what should I do?
Is it possible the hard disk failed so bad for an uncommon closure of the system? It looks to me like some data got corrupted.
Please help me, as I-m an academy student and I use the PC for almost everything.
Thank you.I-ve booted Boot Repair 64bit and tried repairing the boot section... i even checked the boot infos and printed an info file, can someone answer what the actual FOG is happening here?

Errors trying to Invoke web service using BES and SIF
Moved this up from the Integration Forum to see if I can get some visibility on it.
Description : When an invoice get's approved we need to pass on the details of the invoice and approval to the 3rd party customer.
So far I have been able to test the business event which calls the web service that writes the information to a file. However, although the file is created there is no content in the file.
So the steps up to this point
1. Create a simple web service that takes a string as an input parameter and writes this out to a file.
2. Locate the Approve Invoice event [oracle.apps.ap.event.invoice.approval] and add a new subscription that will invoke my web service.
I have a number of issues at the moment.
From the business event page I can test the event which writes a record to the wf_java_deferred queue. I have been able to call the service and create a file however that seems to have stopped working. Where do I look to see what's going wrong? Is the diagnostics the best place to start
If I go into Status Monitoring I can see the last Business Event test I did is now having errors when it tries to invoke the web service. The error I get is

How do I get access to the payload? I only really need 2 or 3 items at this time. Do I need to extend a seeded java function? For example in my initial tests I only want to pass across the Invoice Id so how do I get the value of this attribute out of the wf_event_t (Is this the correct object name) and into the payload that is being passed across to the service call.
Cheers
OwenHello Owen
I am experiencing the exact same issue as you are (missing payload) when invoking a web service and was wondering if you have resolved this issue or gotten any new useful information?

Error handling from MAXL into a batch file
Hello all
I need to know how do we pass a value to a batch file from MAXL script if an error occurs.
I have used the following in my MAXL to catch an error.
========================
login username password on server01;
Iferror 'error';
Define Label 'error';
Exit;
=======================
In the batch file I used:
If %errorlevel% NEQ 0 goto catch
:catch
echo an error occurred during MAXL script
Exit
========================
This doesnt give me any error even the login info is wrong in the MAXL script
Please correct if this is wrong and provide any help if possible
Thanks in advanceHere's the error checking code I used in my last not-DOS-but-we-call-it-that script:
REM Call MaxL script with parameters
REM The 2>&1 at the end of the below line merges CMD's STDERR into STDOUT
%hyperion_home%\products\essbase\essbaseclient\bin\essmsh.exe %batAutomation%\%esbAppName%\MaxL\%mshScriptName%.msh %esbUsername% %esbPassword% %esbServer% %esbAppName% %mshScriptName% %batDrive% %batAutomation% >>%log% 2>&1
REM Test for MaxL execution errors
IF NOT %ERRORLEVEL% == 0 (SET errormsg=Error! - MaxL script %mshScriptName%.msh failed with ERRORLEVEL %ERRORLEVEL% & GOTO ERROR)The 2>&1 command at the end of the MaxL script line merges STDOUT and STDERR into an overall log file I used for other processes as well as MaxL. It's great for that purpose, but unfortunately logs the username and password -- this would be overcome by encrypting those values. It was acceptable for the solution so I didn't lose any sleep over it.
