Labels in graphics GFW

Hello to all.
I'm trying to use labels in graphics columns but the text that I want don´t appear in output collumns. For example, if I execute the standard program GFW_PROG_POINT_WITH_LABEL the label for the second collumn is "40", but the code have the text label "peake value" (the correct label).
I request a friend to execute this program in is client and the output is "peake value".
Do you know why there is this two diferences in the same standard program?
Thanks and regards.
Bruno

Hi,
The problem occurs in last SAP 6.20 patch 66 or even in last pach for 6.40.
In another computer with SAP 6.20 patch 36 it works, but the users have patch 66 installed.

Bruno

  • Can't create labels w/ graphics in MS WORD MAC 2008

    Hello!
    I am using MS Word for MAC - version 2008 and can't for the life of me create a page of labels with a graphic.
    The old 2004 version worked beautifully. I could pull up a blank template (ex. 5160), group the graphic and text box in one cell, then select "Tools -> Labels" and that would create an entire page of that design. I got the 08 version, and now I can't do a thing. That process just gets me another blank template.
    Not sure how many people use word for this kinda thing... but ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated! Even if it means using another program.
    Many thanks!

    You should really consider posting your question on the Word forums: http://www.officeformac.com/productforums as Apple discussions only provide support for Apple products

  • Working with labelled vector graphics (CS4)

    I've working with a rather large set of simple geometric vectors.
    They've all been created in illustrator, but need to be scaled in InDesign and flow with the text.
    The only method I've come up with is somewaht convoluted, so I thought I'd share and see if anyone had any suggestions on how I might improve the workflow.
    - vector graphic is pasted (not placed) into InDesign and ungrouped
    - strokes are converted (manually) to object styles (graphic styles created in illustrator are lost)
    - graphis is regrouped and roughly scaled
    - labels are added and paragraph styles applied
    - labels are grouped with graphic, cut, and "paste into" anched text box
    - re-scaling and label edits are done with select content/container/next object
    More complicated graphics will be linked and rescaled in illustrator and relabelled and placed as above.
    Is there a better/easier way to do this?
    (Maybe CS5 will have a container isolation mode...)

    I want to keep the labels out of illustrator, but there are a few graphics with more detail that percentage scaling is the way to go.
    It would be far easier if InDesign would respect (i.e. import, map) Illustrator's graphic styles.

    thanks, aandras.
    in this art there is an interactive graphic which you can access either by 1) clicking on the graphic towards the middle of the article on the left side just above the picture of senator Reid, or 2) clicking on the tab near the start of the article labelled "interactive graphics".
    for me, either way will load that page but the page is not scrollable, zoomable nor pannable. that page actually has a set of 10 different graphics you can select via buttons in the left. oddly these buttons work and actually switch the graphics. but most of them are too large to be displayed on the playbook screen which therefore have to be scrolled/panned but that does not work for me. the page, other thank those buttons, acts as if it is frozen.

  • Text Frame Options. Room for Side Heads added without warning

    Hi -
    I just got asked this and have no clue how to help. Anyone know what this is?
    Every now and then, my Frame file will –apparently on its own – reset most of its text frames into having room for side heads.  Makes for lots of bad labels on graphics – everything’s suddenly offset and scrolling off the bottom.
    This will happen suddenly.  It will usually be only one or two chapters in a book, but if I ignore it has been known spread like the black death throughout the book.
    The only solution I’ve found so far has been to revert to a backup or touch each text frame individually.  Setting properties for two at a time messes up location on the page.

    HI -
    Here's what I heard back.
    I believe it’s for everything except main text flow, including headers&footers on master pages, and special elements on unused master pages.
    It appears to be spontaneous, but I can’t guarantee that.
    I don’t use MIFs, and I’m pretty sure no one else does.
    Yes to formatting imports , because we frequently change variables in one chapter and copy them back to the rest (esp date doc was last edited – not same as print date per our regulatory agency.)   Likewise conditional text.  We know not to copy from a file into itself in a book, although it has happened and we do exchange manuals between revisions at times.

  • Custom File Info Panel CS2- CS4

    I have a Custom File Info Panel that has been created in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and works in CS3.  I am having trouble figuring out how to get it to work in CS4.  Is there a way to port the Custom File Info Panel into CS4 without entirely recreating it?
    I am seeing references to FileInfo SDK and creating a new Flex UI but I can't seem to find a definitive method on this pre-CS4 File Info Panel to the new UI - and I am in unfamiliar territory.
    Any assistance or points in the proper direction would be most helpful.
    UPDATE:  Answering at least some of my own questions, I have followed the procedure here:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/gunar/2008/11/customizing_metadata_ui_in_cs4.html
    I am still having some trouble with a couple of the unique properties but I expect that they will be typos... I hope...
    Any good reference information is still welcome.

    Thank you for suggesting the PS Scripting forum but I think the next stop might be the XMP SDK Forum as there are a few similar questions there such as http://forums.adobe.com/thread/540397.  But before I go impolitely cross-posting...
    I've had some success and it appears that my custom file info metadata edited and saved in CS2 is now visible in CS4 and the reverse is also true - metadata edited and saved in CS4 is visible in CS2.  This was built using the Generic Panel from the SDK according to the instructions shown at the link in my original post.
    The only problem is that the external application that relies on the custom metadata doesn't see the CS4 version of the metadata.  I suspect that this is just some general namespace issue.  Perhaps if an XMP expert would be willing to comment on the conversion of the Custom Info Panel based on the following single portion of the metadata to see if I am doing it correctly - I would very much appreciate it.
    In the CS2 Custom Info Panel XML I have this field:
    <panel title="$$$/CustomPanels/XYZ/PanelName=XYZCorp Graphics MetaData" version="1" type="custom_panel">
      group(placement: place_row, spacing: gSpace, horizontal: align_fill, vertical: align_top, reverse: rtl_aware)
      static_text(name: '$$$/CustomPanels/XYZ/fullName=Full Name/Title of Graphic', font: font_big_right, vertical: align_center);
      cat_container_edit_text(xmp_ns_prefix: 'xyzcorp', xmp_namespace: 'xyzcorp', xmp_path: 'FullName', container_type: seq_struct, horizontal: align_fill);
      mru_popup(xmp_ns_prefix: 'twcable', xmp_path: 'FullName', no_check: true, vertical: align_top, container_type: seq_struct, mru_append: true);
      <!-- many more fields -->
    </panel>
    In my CS4 properties.xml the corresponding field:
    <xmp_definitions xmlns:ui="http://ns.adobe.com/xmp/fileinfo/ui/">
    <xmp_schema prefix="custom" namespace="xyzcorp" label="$$$/Custom/Schema/Label=XYZCorp Graphics MetaData" description="$$$/Custom/Schema/Description=CS4 Version of XYZCorp MetaData Custom Panel.">
        <!-- simple properties -->
       <xmp_property name="FullName" category="external" label="$$$/Custom/Property/FullName_Label=Full Name/Title of Graphic:" type="seq" element_type="text"/>
    <!-- many other properties -->
    <ui:separator/>
    </xmp_schema>
    </xmp_definitions>
    It seems that the following CS2 => CS4 translations should be true:
    "xmp_namespace" => xmp_schema namespace property (in this case "xyzcorp")
    "xmp_path" => xmp_property name property (for this one property, "FullName")
    is there another translation that I am missing?  I am betting it has something to do with the CS2 "xmp_ns_prefix" but I am not entirely sure how to map this.  Also perhaps something in manifest.xml (though it didn't seem like it)?
    Many thank you's to anyone that can offer words of wisdom.

  • Setting Text over an Icon which is on a JLabel - Urgent

    Can someone help me. I need to set some text over an Image/Icon which is placed over a JLabel.

    You should simply change the iconTextGap value (according to the string width and the icon width if you want it centered) :
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("Centered label");
              JLabel label = new JLabel("centered label",new ImageIcon("im1.gif"),SwingConstants.LEFT);
              frame.getContentPane().add(label, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              frame.pack();
              frame.setVisible(true);
              int iconWidth = label.getIcon().getIconWidth();
              Font font = label.getFont();
              Graphics g = label.getGraphics();
              FontMetrics fm = g.getFontMetrics();
              int stringWidth = fm.stringWidth(label.getText());
              label.setIconTextGap(-stringWidth+((stringWidth-iconWidth)/2) );
    I have made the frame visible before setting the texticongap because you can't get the graphic context of a component if this component is invisible.
    Now the label is perfectly centered on the icon.
    I hope this helps,
    Denis

  • Are you drawing text at an angle with TextRenderer?

    This is a question for folks that are aware of the difference in quality of output between TextRenderer.DrawText and (Graphics.DrawString + Graphics.TextRenderingHint = Text.TextRenderingHint.AntiAlias). It is an issue that has been discussed by others,
    elsewhere, without resolution, and I'm simply asking if anyone has come up with a workaround.
    I want to render text in the quality of TextRenderer.DrawText, at right angles or upside down. TextFormatFlags.PreserveGraphicsTranslateTransform ignores calls to RotateTransform on the Graphics object that exposes IDeviceContext to DrawText, and DrawText doesn't
    play nicely with bitmaps.
    Has anyone figured out a way to draw text at the same quality provided by TextRenderer.DrawText, at an angle other than 0 degrees?
    (For those who need a back story to prove to you that I cannot use a Label or Graphics.DrawString for this, here you go.
    There is a cat stuck in a tree in my back yard. I would like to rescue him, but there is a troll standing between me and the tree. He's a nasty troll, but on TV he plays a happy-go-lucky helpful troll, so when I call the police to complain, they just laugh
    at me. "Ha! You can't fool us! We watch TV!"
    The troll will allow me to reach the cat if I provide him with a UserControl that renders text at the same quality as the Windows.Forms.Label control, but at angles 90, 180 and -90 degrees. He is a clever troll in that he notices details between shoddy and
    neat; rough and smooth; ugly and pretty; cat and honey badger. Therefore, I have not been able to fool him into thinking that ugly text is pretty by asserting that ugly text is pretty. Argh. I dislike this troll.)

    And this has to do with
    Usability Steven's
     issue in what fasion and why are you responding to somebody elses issue
    Mick Doherty? Or is this just for my information?
    La vida loca
    Hi Monkey
    This was mainly for info, but the OP did question the difference between GDI and GDIPlus methods of drawing rotated text. Your example only provides a GDIPlus method.
    GDI does not respect the Graphics objects rotations, but so long as the PreserveGraphicsTranslateTransform flag is set it will respect Translations.
    Here's a simple example to highlight the issue:
    Public Class Form1
    Public Sub New()
    ' This call is required by the designer.
    InitializeComponent()
    ' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
    Me.SetStyle(ControlStyles.ResizeRedraw, True)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Form1_Paint(sender As System.Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles MyBase.Paint
    Dim testString As String = "My Test String"
    Dim angle As Single = 0
    If Me.CheckBox1.Checked Then angle = 180
    Using testFont As New Font("Arial", 24, FontStyle.Regular, GraphicsUnit.Point)
    Dim rc As Rectangle = Me.ClientRectangle
    rc.Offset(0, -24)
    Me.DrawRotatedGDIText(e.Graphics, testString, testFont, rc, Color.Red, angle)
    rc.Offset(0, 48)
    Me.DrawRotatedGDIPlusText(e.Graphics, testString, testFont, rc, Color.Black, angle)
    End Using
    End Sub
    Private Sub CheckBox1_CheckedChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles CheckBox1.CheckedChanged
    Me.Invalidate()
    End Sub
    Private Sub DrawRotatedGDIText(graphics As Graphics, text As String, font As Font, bounds As Rectangle, color As Color, rotation As Single)
    Dim sz As Size = TextRenderer.MeasureText(text, font)
    Dim centre As Point = bounds.Location
    centre.Offset(bounds.Width \ 2, bounds.Height \ 2)
    Dim offset As Point = New Point(-sz.Width \ 2, -sz.Height \ 2)
    graphics.TranslateTransform(centre.X, centre.Y)
    graphics.RotateTransform(rotation)
    TextRenderer.DrawText(graphics, text, font, offset, color, TextFormatFlags.PreserveGraphicsTranslateTransform)
    graphics.ResetTransform()
    End Sub
    Private Sub DrawRotatedGDIPlusText(graphics As Graphics, text As String, font As Font, bounds As Rectangle, color As Color, rotation As Single)
    Dim sz As Size = graphics.MeasureString(text, font).ToSize
    Dim centre As Point = bounds.Location
    centre.Offset(bounds.Width \ 2, bounds.Height \ 2)
    Dim offset As Point = New Point(-sz.Width \ 2, -sz.Height \ 2)
    graphics.TranslateTransform(centre.X, centre.Y)
    graphics.RotateTransform(rotation)
    Using myBrush As New SolidBrush(color)
    graphics.DrawString(text, font, myBrush, offset)
    End Using
    graphics.ResetTransform()
    End Sub
    End Class
    Here you can see the GDI string (red text) is rendered differently to the GDI Plus string (black text) i.e. the GDI Plus text is longer. Both strings have been rendered to the correct location as set by the graphics transformation:
    Here a Rotation to the graphics object has been performed, but the GDi method has totally ignored it:
    As a rule, Win32 based controls render with GDI rather than GDI+ and so if we wish to draw a custom control which appears similar to a Win32 based control we need to render with GDI. If you've ever tried to ownerdraw a tabcontrol then you will have noticed
    that the text does not always fit on the tabs if we've used GDI+. using GDI the text fits perfectly, but when we side align the tabs the text does not rotate. We can, as the OP has done, draw unrotated text to a bitmap and then rotate the bitmap and this
    works well if we have a solid background. If we have a textured background however, this method is not acceptable.

  • Panel Refresh

    hi all,
    i need a trick to avoid the flicker in my Panel when i update the information of their labels. somebody tell me something about double buffering, what's that?
    thanks

    Hi
    To explain double buffering , consider u are displaying some labels using Graphics.drawString() method .
    As the first label displays on the screen ,immediately the second label displays on the screen, and immediately the third one .
    This creates flickering on the screen.
    In Double buffering , all the content to be shown on screen is renderered on an off screen image, and then
    this offscreen image is painted on the screen , making the rendering appear smooth.

  • How do you make java components paint to an image?

    I tried having a JPanel as one of my instance variables inside my class.
    In the paint method i called paint on the JPanel and passed in a graphics2D object created from an image.
    But JPanel does not paint on my image. How do I make it do that?
    Basically I want to do some effects on text, but do not want to be bothered about text layout. So I want my JLabel to paint its output on an image and then I can do the effects with the image.
    Thanks,

    Create an image, get it graphics and call the paint method of the label.
    Graphics g = image.getGraphics();
    label.paint(g);
    The label must be added to a container and visible.

  • Printing with automatic pagination

    At run time I'm creating an mc for printing and attaching
    several labels and graphics. The height of the mc vary each time.
    When I tried to print this mc using Print("mc", "bmax"); the mc is
    srunk to fit the page. This is a problem, because if the mc is too
    large and shrunk too much you cant read the text. I Just want it to
    continue printing on the 2nd or 3rd page.
    So I tried the PrintJob object. With this I can scale the mc
    to fit say 2 A4 pages, but this method prints only the 1st page.
    Making the mc to be cut off.
    Is there any way to print an mc that is created at runtime
    and varies in size to be printed on multiple pages?
    Thanks for your help.

    Unfortunatly I dont have the option to create the mc to fit
    to a printable page. I just have an a single mc that will need to
    be printed on multiple pages depending on how big it is.
    I have tried to use masks for setting the print areas, but
    the PrintJob always prints from the top of the mc, not from top of
    the mask. Just so frustrating.
    Any ideas?

  • Make A Canvas Look Like A Button?

    I have some canvases (canvasi?) that I want to make look like
    buttons with rounded corners and bevels, maybe a drop shadow, but I
    know this can't be done to a canvas.
    Ideally, I like the way panels look but I don't want the
    white space in the middle of it.
    I also like buttons but I'm not sure if I can use a button
    like a layout component.
    The item needs to have room for some text (a label), a
    graphic, and it also needs to work like a button (meaning it can be
    clicked and can navigate and store some information).
