Labels on XY Graph

Hi,
I´m working with an XY Graph in Xcelsius 2008.
I have 34 entries, each one of them has two values.
I would like to know how to set the labels for each of the 34 entries (as there is no place to define the labels for the X category ¿?).
Another question is, would it be possible to make these labels appear constantly (not only when we pass the mouse over the "bubble").
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi Nuria,
It cannot set label to each point of XY Chart.
If you really want to give a label to distinguish each entry, I recommend to use bubble chart. Then set the bubble chart as this:
     1) Set X values with 1, 2, 3, ... , 34, just as simple labels.
     2) Set Y values and size with your real data.

  • Numbers '09 :  How do I split a label in a graph

How do I split a label in a graph into 2 lines of text. Right now, in the inspector, Axis tab, Category Axis Y, the label is "Asset Value" and shows on 1 line, I want it on 2 lines but there is nothing I can do.
Is there some sort of code within the label that I have to put?
    Thanks!

Is this what you want ?
If it's that, just insert a line break in the header thru option + return.

  • Can't show data labels in pie graphs as decimal number if the crosstab data

I want to show my data labels in diagrams, as percent values, with three decimals.
It occurs (in version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)) it is only possible if the data format of the crosstab data also shows data with decimals. If the data are in integer format, the graphs data labels can only be shown in integer as well.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
In version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.48.18) we can have a crosstab showing integers and a pie graph showing labels of pie slices where the labels are in percent with three decimals. It seems it does not work in the newer version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)
    Thanks in advance

It seems I have another similar problem in version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26):
I have a Bar (Percent) graph based on a crosstab where the data is formatted as number with two decimals.
The labels in the graph shows as number (0,76 instead of 76% and 0,13 instead of 13%). I want them to be shown in percent format.
The Data Label format is set to “Number” with two decimals. I can change the Data Labels to Percent with two decimals and then it shows the data labels in the graph exactly as I want it. But after I have saved the workbook and then opened it again the changes has been “revoked” and is once again set to number with two decimals instead of percent.
    thanks (again) in advance

  • Add axis label to a graph in word report

    Hi,
Is there a way to add an axis label for the graph in a word report? Thanks!

    Solved!

I would guess that there is, but it would be a word automation function.

  • INVERTING SCALE LABEL IN XY GRAPH

    Hi All
Is there any way to inverse the direction of scale label in xy graph?
If we duplicate Y scale and swap side then the scale label appears in different orientation in the y2 scale (compared to y1)
If y1's label is voltage1 and is appeared frm bottom 2 top then the label of y2 say,voltage2 appears from top to bottom.I want the two scale labels to be identically oriented. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks in advance.

There is a very simple solution : create a free label (use the text tool) and place it over the scale label. A right click will let you choose the label orientation. That what I did on the attached front panel. Of course you'll choose the right back ground color !

  • HTML5 fails to show labels on line graphs

Value labels on line graphs fail to show in HTML5 and work fine in the current html version as well as in Excel.
    Repro
    Create line graph
Right click on the marker of a series and select 'Add Label'
    Save to OneDrive
Open it and view the regular html and then view the HMTL 5 version

Could you clarify if this in Power View sheet or in regular excel sheet/line chart?
Also could you clarify what you mean by regular html vs html5?

  • Can not edit data labels in old graph chart objects using Word 2010

In Word 2010, Insert object "Microsoft Graph Chart", go to Chart Options and check an item in Data labels, such as "Series Name", "Category Name" or "Value". Click OK, then double-click on a data label to edit its
settings, or right-click on a data label and select "Format Data Labels..."
This makes Word to crash. The only way I can get out of it is by using the Task Manager to kill Word.
This happens in Windows 7 and Windows 8. This does NOT not happen in Word 2007 nor Word 2013, so it seems specific to Word 2010. All our clients have the same problem, this does not seem related to a specific workstation configuration.
The Microsoft Graph Chart are the old charts used within .doc files. I have an application still generating those types of files and need to edit data label settings manually before processing the files with my application.
Also note that anytime you edit a .doc file in Word 2010 and you see "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar, the Insert / Chart option from the ribbon inserts an old type chart (same as if you use Insert / Object / Microsoft Graph Chart), not the
new Word 2010 charts. You then have the same problem editing the data labels.
The underlying Activex seems to be the Chart.Exe file, the one I have installed is 14.0.7012.1000. You can see the version by double-clicking the chart and then look in the Help / About menu.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As this is a configuration issue and not a programming issue I' moving your question to a more appropriate forum where you're more likely to find assistance.

  • Adding data labels to column graph

I work in the financial industry and I have to add data labels to all bars that appear in my ten year performance graphs (see http://fundinvestor.calamos.com/ClosedEndFunds/CEFund.aspx?name=CHI under the "Performance" tab as an example). Is there a script that can do this? I saw there's this technique that Adobe offers for column totals: http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Illustrator/13.0/help.html?content=WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07d 0100196cbc5f-619e.html but that's not working. What am I doing wrong? Adding data labels to bars is ridiculously simple in Excel, why can't I find the way to do it easily in Illustrator?

  • Setting the title font and axis labels in a graph created with the Report Generation Toolkit

I'm using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office to generate Excel worksheets containing plots. Unfortunately, the default font size used in the plots is huge (see attached worksheet). I was able to use Excel Set Graph Font.vi to reduce the size of the axis labels, but there does not appear to be a function to do this to the title and legend. In addition, there does not appear to be a function to set the axis text labels. Before I write my own, has NI released additional functions to perform these tasks?

    Hello Zeidan
The graph title and legend font sizes can be changed by accessing a low level VI (Excel_Insert_Chart.vi) that is part of the excelsub.llb that is located at (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office). This VI is called dynamically from within the Excel Insert Graph.vi and it uses VI server technology to access the Excel exposed properties. Attached to this post is an image of the block diagram of this VI after I have modified it to set the font sizes of the title and legend to 15. The circles in the image represent what I had to add to accomplish this.

  • Can I align the orientation of axis labels in a graph generated with the report generation toolkit (Word)?

I was wondering how to align the axis labels, i.e. 90 degree or such when creating a graph with the report generation toolkit in word.
I can do it after the document is created through Format axis title -> alignment but is there a way out of LabVIEW?
I'd especially like to rotate the y-axis label by 90 degrees.
    Thanks a lot,
    Juergen

I think he means he can modify it by hand after the report has been generated... But what I want to do is generate the word graph out of labview already with the rotated axis label...
After I posted this I found out that we can do this with a macro and use it from labview, but unfortunately I don't know VB, or VBA...

  • Overlapping labels in Scatter Graph - Web Dynpro for Java

    Hi
We have created a Scatter Graph in Web Dynpro for Java.
The xValue and yValue are obtained from a node. We are showing a name as the label on each point so plotted on the graph through Chart Designer (Format->$Label).
The issue we are facing is:
We have 3 points with the same xValue and yValue. Meaning they plot the same point on the graph. But the name associated with each is different. These names are overlapping (as its the same point on the graph) and are hence not readable.
Is there any way in which we can show multiple names/labels on the same point in a readable way?
Is it possible for us to show a tool tip at each point where the tool tip contains the comma seperated names/labels associated with all the x and yValues at that point?

    Hi,
there's no automatic mechanism for detecting such label collisions in the scatter chart. However, you can change the position of each label (HorizontalPosition, VerticalPosition) and use point customizing to position several labels around this single point.

  • Need to create a floating label over a graph

hi, i need to create a floating label over data points in a graph when the mouse is over them and then the floating label should disappear when i move the mouse away.
Option 1: i have done the code with jpopupmenu and jmenuitem, but the menuitem does not display multiple lines of text. i then wrote my own jxxx extends jmenuitem where i paint what i want. the paint method is called but nothing is painted ! any clues ?
Option 2: i would like to create my own class extending label and paint in it. i need to display at an arbitrary position with the ability to hide it.
    any ideas ?
    thanks

    BhishmaPitamah,
How about simply using a tooltip? It's possible to have a general tooltip for an entire component, and specific ones for specific areas on the component. For specific tooltips, simply override JComponent's public String getToolTipText(MouseEvent e)See ToolTipDemo.java at http://www.infres.enst.fr/~elc/java/SwingSet2/src/
    See "CUSTOMIZING JTOOLTIPS" at http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/TechTips/2000/tt1010.html
If that doesn't suffice, see StanislavL's post in this thread: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=406659&tstart=0&trange=100

  • 11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

    Hi Paul,
This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.
    Thanks
