Labor On- Labor Off Web service or XML

Hello,
As there in no available web service for labor on and labor off (The one is available only in Rich POD)
We are trying to devolope a separate web service for this through SDK.
first of all i want to know can we use the activities which are for labor On and labor Off other than the Rich POD.
Is there any way to worked this out using XML messages?
Please let me know about the same.
_Regards,
Pushkar

Hello ,
Thanks Evan for the suggestion.
I tried to write a webservice by tring to implement "import com.sap.me.labor.LaborLogBOInterface"
but was not too helpful.
Sergiy,
As mentioned by Evan can we get the Public API via OSS?

Pushkar

    Hi
We are not implementing any kind of flex Time.
Are you aware of how to setup OTL to record time worked in Days, and how that can be transported to Oracle Project.
The module is configured to setup in Hours.
    Any ideas?
Could you highlight any documents that will simplify the process of a basic OTL setup

  • Error while consuming Web Service (returning XML ) in ABAP

    Hi,
i am trying to consume a web service in ABAP. ( webservice which takes a request and return a XML string back).
I created a proxy class in SE80. and i tested it successfully.
When i tried to use the class in my program, it is giving dump.
i am not sure what is the problem. I guess it is not able to handle null values in XML.if that is the case. how to handle it..

    The dump says:
    Runtime Errors         OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED
    Except.                CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
         caught and
        therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
        access a component (variable: "LO_CLIENTPROXY").
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access components.
Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
        CLEAR statement.
I think this dump is because of the default value ( space) in some elements. How to avoide that.
wheni catch CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL it is not giving any dump. But this is not my requirement. Because it is not getting anything into  response string.

  • Web Service: XMLUnmarshalException: XML Deserialization Error

    Hi,

    Hi Bala,
I tried your suggestion but that did not work!
I am not trying to test that web service via WSNavigator.
Problem is my service does not come there once i deploy it.
I am a newbie to WebServices so please correct me where am I wrong in these steps:
    1. I create a Deployable Proxy Project
    2. Then, i create a new Client Proxy Definition
    3. I enter pkg name, Proxy name, choose Local System. Then i give the WSDL location and finally press Finish.
(It has created several files including ClientAPI.jar)
    4. Lastly, i chose Build EAR and deployed it.
But i cannot see my web service in that list!
Can you please help me in checking the request-response cycle for this web service.

  • Creating a web service - editing xml

does anyone know how to alter the values returned by a web service before the xml is returned to the caller?
What I mean by this is, I have a web service that returns data. If the data field has not been populated it simply passes back the field with its initial state e.g. space for char and zero for numeric  etc.
Is it possible to alter these values so that the outbound return xml would contain null  pointers in these cases. e.g. xsi:nil
For web service consumption the controller table allows ABAP to handle xsi:nil as the xml comes into the ABAP environment. Is there a similar protocol or class for the outbound/Web service that exists in SAP?
I can't find and user exits or BADI's in this area, but then again this is really on the boundary of the ABAP environment.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alan

If you have never done this before the best place to start is the axis user guide:
    http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-guide.html
Work through the examples there and then google for examples of using WSDL2Java (there are many out there). This will generate client side classes for you and make things a bit easier.

  • Calling Web Service passing xml from Oracle Forms

    Hello,
I need to call a .net web service from Oracle Forms that passes in xml data and returns xml data.
I have seen several examples of how to create a wrapper in jdev and then to import the code
into forms. I just have not seen any examples that are passing parmameters especially not xml
as a parameter and that have an active wsdl that I can see how it relates to the code created.
I have a wrapper but cannot figure out where and what notation to use to include passing in
    an xml object.
Does anyone have an example passing in xml where the wsdl is still available to see?'

Also here you have several options...
    1. you can make a PJC (bean) which include a webservice stub generated with axis (you can make a stub and also test a webservice with this tool: www.soapui.org)..
    2. you can make a database webservice with JPublisher and then just call a pl/sql wrapper for this webservice
    4. you can call a webservice with java api (HttpsURLConnection, HttpURLConnection or with apache HTTPClient api) from your PJC for example:
the code below is used as java stored procedure to call a .net webservice on https

Without far greater details as to what you are doing, what you have installed, and what you have tried, not much can be offered. All that I can gather from the information you provided is that the server name you are trying to contact either is not responding or is invalid. If you have Forms installed on your local machine (for example using Developer Suite), try using localhost rather than the hostname. For example, http://localhost:port/forms/frmservlet?form=yourform

  • ABAP Proxy viewing of historical web service posts - XML files

    Hi there
I have developed a web service that posts via an ABAP proxy.  The webservice posts successfully.  Where do I see the historical XML files of the posts of my executed webservices?
    Kind Regards
    Gustav Coleske

    Hello Torsten,
It seems that the Web Service You are going to consume is a SOAP 1.2 one.
It is apparently making use of the so-called "SOAP Web Method Feature" which is part of the SOAP 1.2 specification (see [Web Method Feature (W3C)|http://www.w3.org/TR/soap12-part2/#WebMethodFeature]).
Unfortunately, SOAP 1.2 is, to the best of my knowledge, not supported as yet by the SOAP Adapter in SAP NW 7.0 / 7.1. That leaves You, in theory, with one of the following options:
    - It might be possible to consume that service with the help of Axis framework (see [Using the Axis Framework in the SOAP Adapter|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/a4f8bbdfdc0d36e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm]). SAP Help states that with the help of the Axis framework SOAP 1.2 can be used. However, there are no further details on that subject, especially whether Web Method feature can be utilised (btw - has anyone tried this?).
    - Ask service provider for a SOAP 1.1-compatible WSDL.
    - Attempt to reverse engineer the SAP SOAP proxy so that it is capable of consuming a SOAP 1.2 Web Method-based web service (has anyone done this before?).
Would You be so kind to post whether, and how, You were able to consume this web service?
    Kind regards

  • Web service security: XML signatures and encryption

    Hi users -
I am trying to figure out how to implement XML signatures and encryption for my web service.  We are only on AS ABAP 7.0, SP 11 - we do not have SOAMANAGER yet.  Yet all documentation I can find on configuring encryption and signatures, references SOAMANAGER.
Does anyone know of a guide anywhere on implementing XML signatures and encryption for web services pre-SOAMANAGER?  It's listed as supported - but I can't find a thing! Your help is much appreciated!
    Thanks so much!

    Hi Users -
I found the answer to this (although it wasn't one I liked.) It doesn't appear that encryption with XML signatures is supported prior to SP 14.
    I found this information at

  • Problem accessing web service: unexpected XML tag

    Hi,
I access a web service with SOAP 1.2 via HTTP 1.1. I used wsimport on the WSDL to generate the stubs (I only use Java 6).

Have you seen this video: http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/adf-service-integ/adf-service-integ.html
It explains how to integrate web services into your ADF applications.  There are also some pretty good tutorials here: Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) Tutorials
One thing that will make the job easier is to create an XML schema for your returned data - the service provider may be able to give you an .XSD file for it, or you could download some typical results and JDeveloper can generate an XML Schema from XML.  If you generate your schema, be sure to edit it and improve what the generator does - no generator is as good as human intelligence. (at least not yet )  Of course, if this is a SOAP web service, it will probably come with a WSDL which includes the XSD.

  • Web Service Request Xml

    Hi,
I have an web service deployed. I wanted to write a client which will show me an sample request xml for any particular operation. Is there any way by that we can generate the request xml by querying the WSDL file.
    Thanks.

I have used XML BEANS option for generating client in my webservvices. In that there is
System.err.println(document.xmlText()); which is basically a request Object for calling stub.
Any way there should be option to get XML text in most of the clients (client types).
Secondly for knowledge purpose if you want that XML then you may even try with default test utility provided in ECLIPSE.
