Labor pool capacity levelling

Hi
what is the purpose of Labor pool capacity levelling in workcenter?
Regards
Vel

Hi Velavan,
Further to the experts comments...below is the business siginificance...
Pooling is basically aggregating the capacities(either labor or machines) to get that used when ever and where ever it is required. For ex, There are several assembly lines in a shop floor, each assembly line requires a set of labour to carry out the production, if at all the pooling is not in picture, then the resource belong to an assembly line cannot be worked on another line, in a given day, if the labor attendance is poor and if all the assembly lines cannot work, then ususally the available labors will be pooled and made some of assembly lines to work. To accomodate this kind of situation...SAP has provided a concept pooling. If you required anything on setting up and execution of labor pooling in SAP technically then please let us the community know or refer krsihnendu's link....

  • Why different Overall requirements value between labor and pool capacity

    Hi all,
I create a PM Order with using a PP work center and this PP work has 3 Capacity category: machine, labor, pool.
after I check the PM Order with CM35
and i find out, that Overall requirements value are different between labor and pool capacity. Is this normal?
In my opinion, labor and pool should have same amount requirements of capacities.
    thanks&regards

  • Display the PO in the capacity leveling

    Hi,
in the capacity leveling CM21 there is a table section.
In the table section I get Production order and planned order.
I just want to display the production order in this sections or in the oders pools.
How can I customize the system.
    Thanks

  • CRP on Pooled Capacity

I have successfully been able to create and assign a pooled capacity to a work center. I am wondering, however, how to review requirements against that pooled capacity. (similar to CM50 with work centers) Is there a way to review pooled capacity requirements which are loaded from multiple work centers, or must you review a specific work center and then check capacity by the capacity category? Any help would be much appreciated. thanks

    Hi,
you'll check with the transaction CM03-POOL, CM25-CAPACITY LEVELING and CM25-CAPACITY EVAULATION.
your problem will match & resolve your problem to these tcodes.

  • Pooled capacity, machine work center can have labour?

    Dear All,
    1) We have eg. a common pool of welders for Location A and Location B welding work centers.  How do we setup the pooled capacity and assign to them?
    2) We have eg. 2 CNC machining work centers (Vert and Horiz) but we have labour support to do machine setup, labour related jobs etc.  If we need to perform labour capacity planning in this machine-based work center, is this done by maintaining a separate work center for this labour support and assigned to the same Cost Center?  Or for machine-based work center, labour capacity planning is not required?
    Thank you for contributing.

    Dear
We have eg. a common pool of welders for Location A and Location B welding work centers. How do we setup the pooled capacity and assign to them?
There is no differnce between pooled capacity and available caapcity .Only thing is you can utilised this capacity pool for various work centre level.
To do that , Goto - SPRO-Production -BAsic Data-Work center-Capacity Planning-Define Capacity categories -Create Capacity Categoery for common pool of welders  , Create Capacity in CR11 and assing them into Work cetre Capaicty tab-Pooled Capacity Catogeries and maintian No of indivuial caapcity in Capacity Header -Standard Available caapcity-Indivual Capacity ( Total Number of welders with working timing , utilisation ) .
Quest2 : To address this issue  , you can select Setup , Labour and Machine in Defalut tab of  same Work centre with proper Standard Value Key .Now , as they are all part of the Production activity , so you can keep the same Cost Centre ( Production Cost Centre )  in the Work centre tab with Formula Key of Labour ,Machine and setup .Goto CR02-Default Tab and Costing tab .
    Hope this is clear
    regards

  • Pooled Capacity in Scheduling

    HI All,
I have created the independent capacity and activated as pooled capacity which is a group of labors,
Now I have the Work Center which is a machine work center, this group of labors are used in diff work centers, so I assigned them to these work centers in capacity Tab of WC.
I have capacity formulas assigned to Machine capacity and pooled capacity is assigned to labor capacity  which is created in WC,
Do in need to assign this pooled capacity in Scheduling tab, using Capacity category as Person ?
OR it is sufficient to assign pooled capacity in capacity tab page?
In my scheduling, part I wanted to have scheduling on the maximum time consumed in operation. But in planned order scheduling tab, I cud see both machine and labor.
    Where am I getting wrong.
    Please suggest

    Hello Mr. Bramhnakar,
    Thanks for your reply,
Yes i have tried the settings you mentioned.
    My doubts are :
Should the Pooled capacity be getting calculated in Scheduling.
Since I gave capacity formulas, for both capacities in Work Center,
and scheduling formula in scheduling tab.
In routing i gave 12 Hr machine and 16 Hr in Labor (Pooled),
In Planned order, I can see the Both Taming, But after converting it to Prod Order, In Operation details tab->dates, i cansee the scheduling on the Machine Time, for which i gave formula in WC--Scheduling tab. This is confusing for me since in Planned order i cud find both but in Production order i found One,
In Routing i have activated Req. Overlapping.
    One more query sir,
Is their any problem if i use Splitting indicator with count of available capacity in WC,
I did this bse  the all order were followin in diff dates.

  • BEA-000627  issue.. reached max pool capacity

I got this reached max pool capacity error msg shown below..
What is confusing to me is , how does the increment level become -ve... Shoudnt it be zero instead of -11 ?
<BEA-000627> <Reached maximum capacity of pool "aPool", making "-11" new resource instances instead of "5".>
Then a stack trace follows this error message saying
negativeArraySizeException, which is understandable becoz it is trying to increase the pool by -11.. The stack trace is shown below...
Has anyone seem anything like this ? Any thoughts ?

  • Why ist Pool Capacity from PP work center automatically involved

    Hi, All
i use PP work center to create a PM Order.
this PP work center has machine-, labor- and pool capacity. and I add "SAP008" into field "other fomula" for labor capacity in Tab capacities.
now after I create a PM Order, when I check CM50, I can see for this PP Work center also  Pool Capacity involved.
    Question:
    1. where comes this Pool capacity, even though I didnot set  any formula in field "other formula" for pool capacity in Tab capacities?
    2. for creating PM Order, do I also need add "SAP008" into field "other fomula" for machine capacity in Tab capacities?
    thanks&regards

    Hi Shrithar,
Do you means the time Profile in CM50.
when I check this time Profile, I see differant time interval, -Database read period
                                                                                    -Evalution period
                                                                                    -plannung period
                                                                                    -Dispatching of backlog
is it also influencing work center capacities?
    thanks&regards

  • How to do capacity levelling

    Dear Frndz,
Pls help me how to do capacity levelling.....
    Scenario:
I have created two production orders for the same finish date as a result the work center is overloaded. Now I want to do capacity levelling.Tell me the step by step procedure to do capacity levelling, so that the capacity problem is solved.
    Regards,
    Srini.

    HI,
    Capacity leveling after order creation
This process covers capacity leveling of requirements from the production process, monitoring the capacity after different periods, and how the system determines the new values for the current order after changes are made to the quantities, times, and dates.
    1) T Code CM21
    2) Enter the field Plant & work Center
    3) Choose Enter.
The current orders whose operations result in capacity loads at the selected work center are displayed. By scrolling through the different charts in the planning table, you can analyze the information provided.
4)For a better view, choose Settings ® Scale ® Monthly period split.
    5) To automatically dispatch one or several operations of an order, click the red rectangle in the order's diagram section to select the order and choose .
The order disappears from the order pool and reserves a time segment in the work center section.
    6) To manually dispatch one or more operations of an order, select the order in the diagram section, drag it to the work center section with the mouse, and place it in a time period that you select.
    7) To deallocate an order, select it in the work center's diagram section and choose .
The order is again displayed in the order pool.
    8) To analyze the changes made in scheduling, select an order in the order's diagram section and choose Order.
    9) Choose Item and write down the start and finish dates of the operation you selected.
    10) Choose Enter until the Planning Table: SAPSFCG001 Finite Scheduling Forw./All Functs.Active screen appears.
    11) Drag the order to a valid section in the work center's diagram section. Make sure that you move the order to a valid and defined start and finish date.
    13) Select the order in the work center's diagram section and choose Order.
    14) Choose Item and compare the new start and finish date.
    15) Choose Enter until the overview tree appears.

  • Capacity Leveling CM29

    Hi Experts,
We are implementing PPPI.  Process Orders created are capacity leveled trough CM29.  When we dispatch items from the Order Pool, they are rescheduled accordingly.  But when we save it and review the scheduling the adjusted dates are not saved.
Is there a practical reason for this behavior?  Thnaks!
    Kebin

    Hi Kebin
After dispatching , please ensure the scheduling Dates  of Process order. For more information check the Scheduling & planning Log.
Please letus know the Orginal date & resheduling date of the Process Order

  • Capacity leveling procedure

    Hi pp friends,
I have done all required settings and i can see periodrequirements in CM22 but don't know how to carryout lelling execution steps and how will it benefit in case of production order.
    If possible send screen shots.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Capacity levelling can be performed more easily from transaction CM21(graphical) rather than CM22(Tabular).
CM21 displays planning table with 4 separate parts. upper left part gives details of work center, lower left part gives corresponding planned order./production orders(you can restrict in selection screen only production orders/planned orders). lower right part gives Orders pool and load will be shown in red colour. Upper right part gives any changes mode to capaciry requirements.
Please go through Standard SAP documentation related to Capacity levelling for more details.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/49/e6f3340cdb8c44e10000009b38f844/frameset.htm
From this transaction you can see capacity Overlappings on each work centers clearly. By levelling the capacity of production orders from here will change the scheduling of the operations.

  • Capacity Planning vs. Capacity Leveling

My production facility is looking to divide up our shop floor by work centers.  There are about 20 individual work centers that are composed of 10 people each.  Each material we make is divided up into 3 operations which go through 3 separate work centers.  Each operation has a corresponding work center that it goes through.
Right now we are unsure which program suits our needs better, Capacity Planning or Capacity Leveling.
Our goal is to measure each individual work center (not the workers that make up the work center).  Each work center has a specific goal involving the number of materials they can produce, whether or not they reached that goal and by how many.
In a nutshell, we want to be able to measure how long it took each work center to reach their individual goals by the materials they produce.
This is all about measuring the individual work centers and how efficient they are.  Our goal is to be able to utilize this data within SAP.
What is the difference between Capacity Planning and Capacity Leveling, and which would better suit our goals?
Our production facility is not very complicated and we're looking for something simple and basic within SAP to accomplish these goals.
All help is appreciated.  What would be your recommendations for this type of situation?

    HI
    Capacity evaluation
In the capacity evaluation, available capacity and capacity requirements are determined and compared with each other in lists or graphics.
    Capacity leveling
The objectives of capacity leveling are:
    Optimal capacity commitment
    Selection of appropriate resources
In most applications, you can use two types of planning table (graphical and tabular versions) to display the capacity situation and to carry out capacity leveling.
In some applications such as Repetitive Manufacturing (PP-REM) or Sales and Operations Planning (PP-SOP), there are application-specific planning tables for capacity leveling.
    T codes for Capacity Planning
Work Center view - Capacity Evaluation
    CM01 - Load
    CM02 - Orders
    CM03 - Pool
    CM04 - Backlog
    CM05 - Overload
    Capacity Leveling
    CM21,CM22, CM27,CM28.
    Hope it will help u

  • Pooled Capacity

    Hello all,
At a client site am using Pooled capacity at Work centers(SAP resources) to help capacity planning with some pooled resources. So during planned order scheduling or in production(process) order the time required to complete the operation is higher than the Recipe(Route) time.
Eg: - Recipe time for operation at a Pooled Resource =10 min
Planned order or Production order time at that operation shows as 15 min
So the question is how does SAP read 10 min Recipe processing time & calculate 15 min as actual required time in Production( Process ) order.
I could not find any relevant SAP writeup on the pooled capacity concept & detailed sheduling being done.
So if anyone has been able to find more explanation from SAP on this will be appreciated.
Also please share your experience on scheduling using pooled capacity.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    HI,
    Assigning Pooled Capacities
    Prerequisites
You can assign a pooled capacity to a work center
Pooled capacities can only be created independently from the work center in capacity maintenance. If you want to make a work center independent capacity a pooled capacity, set the Pooled capacity indicator in the General data section of the screen and then choose Enter
    Procedure
Enter in the required capacity category in the capacity overview of the work center the name of the pooled capacity.
If the default capacity of a work station does not intend pooled capacities to be assigned, you can do this nonetheless:
Delete the capacity category by choosing Edit ® Delete.
Create a new capacity category by choosing Edit ® New entries.
    Maintaining Scheduling Data
From any work center screen choose Goto ® Scheduling.
    The Scheduling screen appears.
Enter the capacity with its capacity category whose execution time you want to use for scheduling. This can be either a work center capacity or a pooled capacity.
The capacity data must have already been entered in the work center.
Maintain formulas for operation segments (for production orders) or for internal processing time (for networks and maintenance orders).
If you do not enter a formula for an operation segment, the execution time of this segment is set to zero.
If you do not enter a formula for internal processing time, the duration in the network or maintenance order is used.
Via Extras ® Formula you can assign a formula constant a value and an unit, display a formula and test formulas
Maintain queue times and if necessary the dimension and units of measure for work in internal processing operations.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Tejas

  • Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order

    Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jayanta

    Dear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP ,  MRP system assume Infinite Capacity  and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2)  and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP  , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order ,  do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done  in following way :
    1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
    2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
    3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
    Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before  you carry on the Capacity leveling :
    .Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK  maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013  with finte scheduling tick.
    Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .

  • Routing update in capacity leveling CM21

    Hi Collogues,
We have simple production type. Production order with production versions.
16 production lines (work centers) with different rates.  1 operation per routing.
I want to use in capacity leveling CM21 to dispatch planned/production orders on these 16 lines.
The problem is that when I dispatch a pln/prd order in CM21 on a work center nether routing nor production version gets updated.
    Your suggestion are welcome.

    Solution found.
Set for each production version "Production line".
Then go Mf50 switch to graphical planning table. It updates routing when I move planned order over work centers.
