Have you tried re-installing the Real-Time module (both on the target and the PC)?
Have you verified it's activated?

Start LabVIEW in evaluation mode

Hello All,
I am building an NI Dev Suite unattended/silent install which includes LabVIEW 2013, TestStand 2013, Switch Exec, some reuse libraries etc.
The installer works fine. After an automatic restart, I need to apply a configuration (automatically) using VI Package Manager and this requires LabVIEW to be working without prompts for licences etc.
Anyone know of a way to start LabVIEW in evaluation mode by default. Any ini tokens / registry entries may be?
I also need the same thing to happen with TestStand as I need to install some configuration to TestStand too.
All of the software will then be licensed by the user afterwards. I would like to avoid building two installers if I can help it.

Is LabVIEW in evaluation mode more slowly?

Hello,
I tried my LabVIEW 8.2 program on a PC with LabVIEW in evaluation mode. I was surprised how slowly the program was. After activation from LabVIEW the program runs much quicker. I will often install LabVIEW by customers in evaluation mode during the implementation phase.
So it's important for me to know if LabVIEW is in evaluation mode noticeable more slowly than after activation.

Jerky and "Not In Real Time"

Why is my footage in AF 5.5 jerky and why do I get a message in red saying"Not in Real Time"?

I'm going to take a guess, and I'm guessing that you are previewing by pressing the space bar. Don't do that. Use RAM preview to get real-time playback of previews.

ISight not in real time and no fancy 3D Video Chat

I have V3 of iChat and a 2Meg broadband connection, running on an iMac 20" last years model.
1. Why is my iSight not in real time, it looks stacatto.
2. How do you get the fancy 3D video chat screen

As Defcom says there can be problems if you updated from Panther.

LabVIEW 2010 SP1 may not cleanly shut down

Occasionally LabVIEW 2010 SP1 (32-bit, running on Windows 7) will appear to "hang" when the "Getting Started" window is closed. The window disappears but the shortcut icon still appears in the Windows toolbar in the bottom of the screen. Right-clicking and selecting "Close Program" does not work and Windows seems to think any VIs that have been recently closed are still open. The program is still in the list in Task Manager and it can successfully be shut down all the way from there.
This is more of an annoyance than an operational issue (I think) - is there something I am doing (or failing to do) that causes this problem?

Deleting the .ini file will not cause any issues in terms of being able to reload Labview it will simply restore the default settings for Labview which will insure that there were be no data corruption issues. I have tried this procedure on my side with no issue although I would recommend copying the .ini file to another directory in case you need to recover this information at a later time.
To another note, does this issue arise when you are opening a particular VI, or does it occur when you are simply opening and closing Labview?

Can I edit multiclips, but NOT in real time?

I love multiclip editing, but right now I've got 5 angles that were shot without a director calling the shots, so any given edit can require some real decision-making. I often must choose between the lesser of 5 evils, so-to-speak, and I can't really do that in real time.
Is the multiclip function "pause-able?" Can I edit on the fly for a few cuts, pause the process to scrub around for a minute and make a edit decision, and then continue in real time?

If you simply need cutaway shots...
I'll usually set up my multiclip on V1, the activate the V2 track for 'cut-ins'.
I can easily place the playhead over an 'active angle' of the camera I want to utilize, then hit the 'f' key. This will 'find' that point on the original clip, from which I can quickly scrub back and forth to find what I want and drop it on V2.
I've set up a 'quick-key' for the Gang/Open on my '/' key, so I can just hit that after dropping the shot on V2, which gets me back to multiclip functionality.
Once the edit is locked, collapse V1, then select all shots on V2 and shift-drag them down to V1.
Not sure that's what you're looking for exactly, but it works for me. BTW, I make it a habit to only cut a few shots, then stopping, then carrying on. This way you don't lose shots that you like when the 'cuts' are set.

Windows 7 offline files do not sync real time while online?

I have network folders setup for use offline. When im online and another user deletes files from those folders, i dont see those deletions until i reboot or force a manual sync. How do you make that to show real time. So that when another user deletes files
in folders i have set to use offline... however im online connected/authenticated to the network, i can see those changes real time.

Wow, nearly two years since this question was posted and still no worthwhile contribution from Microsoft.
We are also seeing behavior similar to this. We're running Windows 7 clients on a SBS 2011 network. We are not doing folder redirection, but rather we have users taking certain file shares offline to work from home or on the road (works much
better/faster than the VPN). However, when they get back to the office occasionally they find themselves editing the same file another user is, or referring another user to check out a file they created while offline which is not actually in the share.
Turns out their PC is using the local cache and not the network cache for some file access, but it insists that the user is working online. Typically if the user forces a manual sync and resolves any conflicts or errors that arise, they can be 99 percent
sure they are working online for real, but without double-checking against open files on the server there's really no way to know for sure. This has absolutely destroyed user confidence in this technology which used to work OK (where this is concerned
anyway - it still had some flaws) in Windows XP.
I saw a post in the partner forum where a moderator basically said "oh yeah, I can totally reproduce that in my lab and that's a shame...try Sharepoint." Absurd.
Seems like Microsoft is basically taking the stance that Offline Files is only worth using for folder redirection where only one user is likely to be using the files. If that's the case then as long as the data syncs eventually it's probably not
a huge deal that this happens. If, however, you're using Offline Files to sync a shared directory this can have disastrous consequences with documents being edited simultaneously for hours or even days before finally someone realizes the problem and
then one user or the other gets to redo their changes.
If they can't make them work right, then they could at least give us more transparencey so the user can see what's going on. I hated the stupid "you are now working offline" popups in Windows XP as much as the next guy, but I'd kill to get them
back now, if only to avoid this stuff. When a user browses to their share that's been made "always available offline" and it says "Offline status: Online" then it should be using files from the LAN, not the cache.

Why is sharing HDV iMovie Project back to camera not in real time?

The posting from Michel Raymond on Dec 22th, 2009 asked the question of why is the transfer of iMovie HD Project to camera so long. In his case a 50 minute iMovie Project would have taken 1300 minutes to transfer had he proceeded.
In my posting of Dec 18th I pointed that my 57 minutes 48 GB HDV Project would have taken 43 hours to archive back to camera on mini DV tape.
Bengt Warleby, in his reply on Dec 23rd to Michel Raymond's posting, said that " to copy back to camera (mini DV tape) should take same as movie duration".
So I carried out a simple check of this possibility by downloading 6 minutes of HDV original footage to make a new 6 minute 4.2 GB iMovie Project. No editing was carried. ie no voice-overs, no transitions, nothing extra at all to modify the original footage. I then shared this Project back to the same video camera from which the original footage had been downloaded.
The first stage , "Mixing Audio" was very quick, less than 1 minute.
The 2nd stage of "Encoding" TOOK 23 MINUTES!
The final stage of "Writing to tape" took 6 minutes.
SO, IT TOOK A TOTAL OF 30 MINUTES TO TRANSFER BACK A 6 MINUTE iMOVIE PROJECT TO CAMERA.
WHY? Why was further encoding required when no changes or additions had been made to the original footage? Why was it not transferred back in the same real time as it was downloaded?
HELP.! I really need to have some answers.

Is Apple considering an update to add the share to camera feature to '09 or possibly in a future version? It's a valuable tool for archiving to tape rather than DVD/HD.

Webview not showing real time reports

Hi,
I have a customer with IPCC Enterprise 7.5 and using the Webview for reporting. The Real Time reports are empty although campaigns are running and agents are logged in. The Historical Reports works absolutely fine. I noticed that for the dialer port status report, I had to enable a setting through the registry, according to the following document:

I changed that and then the Real Time report for the dialer port status works. Nothing else from the Real Time reports returns any data.

We are using only the Outbound option, so it's only for the outbound. It doesn't give me any Real Time report except the dialer port status. It doesn't return any error, but the report is empty.

Canvas output not in real time on TV

After finally getting my connections right to get video out to my TV monitor, I've ran into another problem. The video from the Viewer is just fine and in real time on the TV. However, from the Canvas just the audio is in real time, the video stays on the first frame until I stop the play and then it goes to the last frame. This just happens on the output to the TV, the Canvas window on the computer has no problem. I have played around with the commands in the view menu with no effect. I would appreciate any help.

Two suggestions:
- make sure you rendered all the sequence alt-R and mixed down audio alt-cmd-R before starting Print to Video or simply before playing back the timeline when using View/Video Out/Apple Firewire DV-PAL (or DV-NTSC);
- make sure the canvas window is set to *Fit to Window*
You should now get a smooth playback on the firewire device

My 2010 imac does not recognise my time machine since I had the Seagate replacement hard drive. Any thought from anyone? The External hard drive is a 1 TB seagate

My iMac (2010 intel model) does not recognise or communicate with my external seagate drive as a time machine for back ups since I had the 1TB Seagate replacement hard drive as part of the replacement prgram with OSX LION 10.5.8 installed.
Is this because I need to update the time machine drive itself?

Why is it saying fps not in real time?

Every time i try and put footage in to after effects it lags and sometimes stops and in the top right corner it says fps not real time

Are you new to AE? Are you doing a ram preview? After Effects uses an entirely different method of playback than a NLE or a media player. Sometimes it takes a while for your system to catch up.
We can't know any specifics unless you give us details about your project, your system and your version of AE down to the last decimal point. Most often folks are trying to preview long segments of an AE comp at full resolution (resolution never needs to be higher than zoom factor). I have mine set to Auto in the comp window and usually have the zoom factor at 50%. You are probably just over taxing your system.

After upgrading to OS 7.1.1 Maps no longer works correctly. It is constantly "locating" and does not do real time updating. Tried "Scout" map app it does the same thing. Do I have something not properly set up for viewing Maps the way I used top?

After upgrading my iphone 4s to 7.1.1 the Maps application does not work properly. It updates very slowly and is constantly "locating". Why is this happening after the upgrade? I also tried SCOUT App it is does the same thing. It seems like it is losing the GPS position. Is there a fix for this?

Any change after turning Airplane mode off and on and/or or after turning Location Services off and back on?
If not, any change after doing a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?
