LabVIEW 2011 and the USB-845x

Hello there,
I was curious to see if anyone else had the same problem and a resolution to my issue. I have Windows 7 x64 and recently did a clean install of LabVIEW 2011 x64. I have a USB-8451 SPI/I2C card that I am trying to make available to use in LabVIEW. The newest drivers (2.0) say in the readme file that Windows 7 x64 is supported and that LabVIEW 2011 x86 is supported but not x64. I installed and tried it out to no avail. However upon copying and pasting from the Program Files x86 to the Program Files (64-bit) LabVIEW folder, I now have the 845x palette available under the Instrument I/O main palette but everytime I choose one for the block diagram it asks for the location for the ni845x.dll shared library file. The only one I found on the whole system was in C:/Windows/SysWOW64 and I link to that file and now the VI's error out saying the library wasn't found/loaded and am just stuck now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The issue has to do with being able to (or rather not being able to) load 32-bit DLLs into a 64-bit process. While the driver readme says that it's compatible for both Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit, that's not the same thing as saying the DLL is 64-bit. And in order to be able to use it from LabVIEW 64-bit you need a 64-bit DLL. This is an operating system limitation, not a LabVIEW one. Thus, you have to use LabVIEW 32-bit. Your license allows you to install both 32-bit and 64-bit, so unless you have a specific reason to use 64-bit LabVIEW (like you're trying to manage gobs of memory), stick with 32-bit LabVIEW for now.

I have a MacBook Pro laptop purchased in June 2011, and the superdrive no longer works.  Rather than have it replaced, I'll buy a 3rd party superdrive that plugs into the USB port.  Does the external superdrive need it's own power source, or will the USB port provide enough power?

The Apple external SuperDrive actually exceeds the allowed power draw. Because of this, it is only trouble-free on certain models that accommodate this excess.
All others require an external Power source.

    Michael,
Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &
    Best regards,
    David

Maunally restore it. In order to do this:
-Download the iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here  http://www.redmondpie.com/download-5.1.1-ios-for-iphone-4s-4-3gs-ipad-ipod-touch -direct-official-links/
    1. After downloading the firmware from the given link, open iTunes and click on your device.
    2. Now press SHIFT on your keyboard and while pressing it click on "Restore".
    3. A dialog box will appear.
    4. Select the firmware you downloaded and click ok.
    5. Done!!! Your iPhone will now be restored to 5.1.1 and if you had backed up your iPod before, then you can put all its settings afterwards.

  • I have just tried to update my ipod touch and the update failed but it has locked my ipod.  All I get is a picture of the itunes logo and the usb lead

I have just tried to update my ipod touch and the update failed but it has locked my ipod.  All I get is a picture of the itunes logo and the usb lead.  I am unable to get the ipod to move and I don't know what to do.  I think I should be recompenced by Apple if I have to pay to get it fixed!

The logo is saying connect it to your computer with iTunes installed on the computer.  I assume when yo do this that the iPod is not seen in iTunes. to make iTunes appear try:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Place the iPod in recovery mode.  See:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Place the iPod in DFU mode:

If the iPod appears in iTunes restore the iPOd.  If not I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT4623 I am trying to get my contacts of an old Iphone. It show the Itunes logo and the usb portion of the plug in cord. How can I get that to go away so I can get my old contacts off of it?

I am trying to get my contacts of an old iphone 3.  It show the Itunes logo and the usb connector of the phone charger. How can I get that off the phone and access my contacts.
    Ideas anyone?

You need to plug it in to iTunes. Once it starts working again, back up the old iPhone to iCloud then go to iCloud in settings. Turn on contacts then you get them back. Another option is to back up to iTunes with the old one, then on the new one, go on iTunes, click restore backup, and choose the old iPhone. I suggest using icloud. Hope it helps!

  • So i have a 32gb ipod classic and the usb port is never recognized??

So my ipod is a 32 gb classic but i can't really use it because the usb port will not connect to my computer or anyone else's. the only reason why it's not completely useless is because i can still charge it using the firewire port but i can't restore it or put new songs on it or anything. i can only charge it. the usb port on my computer works just fine so i'm thinking the problem is with my ipod. any suggestions on how to confront the problem??

What you maybe missing are the cables, the current USB iPod Dock cables dont work on this iPod, the
M8948LL/A* - A1040 was designed before Apple switch over from Firewire to USB2.0. for all iPod interface.
If you want to use it on a Windows PC, you got to format to FAT32, and your PC must have Firewire (IEEE 1394 port), for syncing or
else you got to get a special "iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 + FireWire Cable" from Apple store (I dont think they have it in stock but you can try eBay or Amazon. But these are meant to be used by connecting the Firewire to the Wall Charger and the USB end to the Windows PC USB2.0 port. If your PC has both USB and Firewire, and you connect them both simultaneous, it will corrupt your iPod formware.
It can connect to Macs that have Firewire ports, you can try Mac with USB2.0 port, but I dont think it will work.
Stick to Mac, it will give you less problems.

    Hello reneywacky,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Connect your USB cable to your computer but not to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until step 3.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button down, connect the USB cable to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. When this screen appears, you can release the Home button:
Note: If the image of a battery appears, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again. If you don't see the Connect to iTunes screen, try these steps 1 through 4 again.
iTunes should automatically open and display the following message:
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."Note: If iTunes not open after two minutes, please open iTunes yourself.
Use iTunes to restore the device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario
