LabVIEW 2011 quick drop ctrl-key shortcuts don't work

I've noticed that none of the Ctrl-Key shortcuts used in the Quick Drop menu work.  For example, Ctrl-T doesn't move the terminal labels and Ctrl-R won't remove and rewire.  Is there a hidden setting that I have missed?
Thanks!

I am just now encountering the same problem, only renaming the INI file didn't do the trick like above. As a matter of fact, the INI key "QuickDropKeyboardShortcutMappings" doesn't even exist in either the renamed (bak) or the newly created ini file.
Since I have grown to rely on the handy QD shortcuts this is starting to really annoy me...
I have checked that I can open all the files in the respective LV version (using 2011+2013 and sometimes got these mixed up with the newly saved shortcut VIs when distributing them to all the 4 LV-Quickdrop folders (x86 and x64)).
Funny thing is, the VI lists in the QD plugins folder and the DQ window, shortcut tab, greatly differ, see pictures attached. Any hints? Otherwise I am going to reinstall since a repair didn't help either. Tried that already as well.

  • Command key shortcuts don't work anymore in Safari since upgrade to Yosemite!

    Hi,
I recently upgraded the MacOSX to Yosemite. Since this moment Safari doesn't work properly anymore, because the command key shortcuts are out of order.
    Cmd + Q
    Cmd + C
    Cmd + V
    Cmd + X
These are now the key shortcuts I've noticed that aren't working anymore. Other apps (a part from Firefox) don't seem to have these problems.
In the meantime I have to use the mouse cursor and choose from the menu bar.
Apple support wasn't able to help me! They just gave me the advice force quit Safari and restart it while pushing the ALT-key. Result: Nothing!
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Kind regard,
    Steven
    MacBook Air
    Version 10.10
    1.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

That is rather odd if they are all visible as shortcut commands.
Here are some more tests to do…
    1) Disable all your Safari Extensions & retest (in Safari Preferences).
    2) Logout of the account (from the Apple menu). At the login window enter your password & hold shift as you click the login button. Keep it held until the Desktop has become usable. This disables 'User login items' - retest. Logout after testing.
    3) Try a safe boot… OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
Does it still happen in safe mode? This disables third party extensions & some inessential Apple system extensions - things will not be normal, however the Mac should be 'functional', test as much as you can.
Post the results of those here, it may give us a better idea where to look.

  • CTRL+ number shortcuts don't work for spaces 5,6,7,8,9

For some reason I can't switch into spaces 5,6,7,8,9 (I have 9 spaces) using CTRL+# shortcuts.
However, I can make these shortcuts work if I switch into space 1,2,3 or 4 first.
To switch into space 9 I have to do CTRL+1 followed by CTRL+9. Has anyone found a way around this behavior?

It did not, but when I checked Spaces Preferences, it turned out there were no shortcuts set for space switching. So it shouldn't have worked for CTRL+1 in a first place. Setting shortcut to CTRL+# makes it work

  • HIde Front panel - enjoy Ctrl-Key shortcut

It is not a question, it is a link to a good old idea:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/Allow-ONLY-the-Block-Diagram-to-be-opened-Without-Fron...
    and Ctrl-Key shortcut attached.
Shortcut hides (including taskbar) and restores front panel window.
It always activates block diagram after all:
If you use shortcut with the hidden FP, it will activate block diagram (unlike simple Ctrl+E activates front panel)
Attention! It will be hard to find VI, if you have hidden it's front panel and closed block diagram - that is why we still need this to be integrated into LabVIEW
PS Use: Place into C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\resource\dialog\QuickDrop\plugins and set shortcut in VI Shortcut window (Ctrl+Space -> Shortcuts -> Ctrl-Key Shortcuts)

    Hide front panel.vi ‏19 KB

It is a custom quick drop shortcut: Labview description is here:
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361L-01/lvhowto/qd_keyboard_shortcuts/
    Place the vi to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\resource\dialog\QuickDrop\plugins
Next time labview launches, it will be available, but you need to set a quick button for it:
Press Ctrl+Space, it will open Quick drop window.
Press Shortcuts..., switch to Ctrl key shortcuts tab (see picture)
Set the button (E) for the selected plugin vi.
Next time you press ctrl+space, followed by Ctrl+E, LabVIEW executes plugin vi.
Correction for my description: if the front panel is hidden, closing block diagram closes the vi (with confirm dialog, as usual). This is not a problem

  • [LAVA Cross Post] CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha Shortcuts don't work in LabVIEW

    Cross-post from LAVA: http://lavag.org/topic/15619-ctrlshift-shortcuts-sometimes-not-working-in-labview/
Bug Synopsis: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts do not work in LabVIEW. Most notably, CTRL+SHIFT+Z, CTRL+SHIFT+E, and CTRL+SHIFT+S
    Test setup: LV2012 32bit with f1 patch running in Win7 64bit inside a Parallels 8 VM in OS X 10.8.1
To summarize the testing I have tried:
Many different LabVIEW, Guest OS, and Host OS combinations all fail, including:
    LV2012f1 32 and 64 bit, and LV2009 32 bit
    Win7 32 and 64bit, and also WinXP x64
    Parallels 7 and Parallels 8
    OS X 10.7 and 10.8
Capturing the keyboard by the VM
Twiddling every keyboard setting possible on Parallels, Guest, and Host
    Reinstalling keyboard drivers
Plugging in a known-good keyboard that works on a native Windows machine
Deleting LabVIEW.ini and letting it regenerate
Remapping the shortcuts from, e.g., CTRL+SHIFT+E to CTRL+E - in this case, "Show in Project" works, so this might indicate it's a problem registering the shortcut press, not invoking the action itself.
Sending the keystrokes via on-screen keyboards from both Guest and Host
Sending the keystrokes via SendInput from user32.dll WinAPI
Testing every imaginable combo of FN, CONTROL, ALT/OPTION, COMMAND/CMD, SHIFT
Reinstalling VMs from scratch and reinstalling LV
Here's a kicker: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts work fine on other Windows programs (I've tried 4 different programs, including Chrome, Notepad++, Paint.NET), yet it does NOT work for VIPM with CTRL+SHIFT+C. This means that the only two programs where the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha bugs exist are both LabVIEW-related.
Here's another kicker: It's only CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts with the prob - CTRL+SHIFT+3 properly toggles grid alignment, and the "Tools >> Options >> Menu shortcuts" will register any CTRL+SHIFT+Non-alpha shortcut; it just does not respond to the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts.
Any new troubleshooting ideas are highly appreciated; please feel free to jump in here or on LAVA.

    Cross-post from LAVA: http://lavag.org/topic/15619-ctrlshift-shortcuts-sometimes-not-working-in-labview/
See the above post for more information - here's a synopsis:
CTRL+SHIFT modifiers are not working while running LabVIEW in a Parallels 7 virtual machine. This problem affects both LV2011 and LV2012. I'm not certain that this is a LabVIEW bug - could be an issue with my virtual machine environment or it's configuration - except that CTRL+SHIFT modifiers work in other applications on the affected VMs. It's just LabVIEW that appears to ignore shortcuts with the CTRL+SHIFT modifiers.
    Any ideas?

  • Hi guys, Having a problem with emoji. I have the emoji on my dock which I found a shortcut on Cult of the Mac. I click on the emoji and drag it to my email or whatever, and it will not drop into place. There is a blue square. Other shortcuts don't work.

    Hi Guys,
Having problem with emoji, I have the character palette shortcut on my dock which I found through article from Cult of the Mac. I click on the emoticon and drag it to my email or whatever and get a blue box - no emoji. I tried the keyboard shortcut - doesn't work. I tried the drop down the menu in edit - doesn't work either. I am running Lion and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Want to fix this before I upgrade or should I just upgrade and hope for the best?  Been all over the net looking for solution.
    Thanks for your help,
    blueheron11

Pages does not support the Apple font used for color emoji, so that behavior is normal.
With what app are you reading the yahoo mail?  There is really no guarantee than any other email service will show the special Apple font involved.
You should have no problem putting emoji directly into Mail or Text edit via drag drop from the Character Viewer as shown below.
You should also be able to upload graphics here easily by clicking on the camera icon.  My email is tom at bluesky dot org.

  • Photoshop CC 2013 and OS X Yosemite - Lag, Shortcuts Don't Work

I don't have a regular Creative Cloud account. The version of Creative Cloud 2013 master collection is installed on my computer, and it can't be updated because it's not a Team CC account. The collection was provided from my work.
The Version I have is Photoshop CC 14.2.1 x64
Anyways, the big problems I am having is lagging on Photoshop are:  Shortcuts are barely working.
Can't press the "UNDO" shortcut, have to use Drop down menu at the top of my computer.
Spot Healing Brush is lagging when I go over something it leaves a dark mark, and when I click it again then it goes away
The shortcut to zoom in or zoom out it doesn't go for like 20 seconds
Any of the brush tools when I try to enlarge or make smaller using the shortcut key [ or ] it won't work.
I knew I shouldn't have updated to Yosemite and deeply regretting it right now.
Does anyone have any solutions to my problem??

Installing the WhiteWindowWorkaround plugin may help that issue: Menus, shortcuts, Lasso tool, or Photoshop stop working ...

  • SQL Developer F* keyboard shortcuts don't work on mac

So... guessing there are not a lot of mac users of SQL Developer, but for the few of us, could someone please change all F key shortcuts to something else? F keys are natively mapped to OS functions on Mac OS X, and so are not usable out of the box.
This means that I have to remap ~30 shortcuts if I don't want to be clicking in a new SQL Developer install.
Also, I really hope this is the right place to put bug reports/feature requests, because there is no "support" section on the main site.

Yeah, it's an annoyance, particularly the things mapped to F9-F12, as those are bound to Exposé and the Dashboard. I'm not sure if we would default to using no F keys, as we have a lot of keybinds and restricting the number of keys available could lead to requiring odd combinations of modifier keys. We'll take a look at it for a future release.

  • Ctrl-9 shortcut no longer working!

I use the Ctrl-9 shortcut to apply paragraph formats to paragraphs, and it is no longer working since I upgraded to FrameMaker 8. Is this a bug or has the shortcut changed?

En passant, I've been working with sticky keys for a while now ... one snag is that it seems to block the familiar Alt + code shortcut for special characters. (also, farther off thread, screws up a lot of Illustrator key-combinations) Anyone out there with any tips for getting the best of both worlds?

  • Mac mini won't boot - keyboard shortcuts don't work

Older Intel Mac Mini that I use as an entertainment / movie center. Leopard.
I did a software update recently, but somehow botched it and interrupted the process.
Ever since then, it won't start up correctly. It chimes, disk powers up, but then it gets stuck on the screen with the apple and rotating propeller. Can go on for hours if you let it.
Took it to a dealer, who said it started up fine from another system an I should try starting it in target disk mode an reinstall the OS.
Bought a USB keyboard specifically so I could press the T and tried it.
It seems that none of the keyboard shortcuts work. I tried target disk mode (T), starting from a system disk (C), tried having it give me a choice of bootable volumes (Option) - nothing. It would appear the Mini doesn't recognize my brand new Apple USB keyboard.
Tried the keyboard with my MacBook and there it works fine.
    Any ideas?

OK, just found the answer while browsing the "more like this" answers that appeared after I posted my question.
I wasn't aware that the new Apple Aluminium Keyboard doesn't play nice with the Mini and that the Mini doesn't recognize this particular keyboard in time for the boot sequence.
Thank you for these helpful discussions:

Using the remote (press the menu key during boot-up) worked fine and I could choose to boot from a system disk.
Spending $60 for a new keyboard that won't do what I bought it for is, however, another story. Grr.
