LabVIEW 5.0.1f1 installed on Windows 2000

I'm transferring LABView 5.01f1 programs from a W95 computer to a W2000 computer. I set all the software directories the same on both computers. When I open a .vi on the W2000 computer it had to search for many of the sub .vi's. I had to go thru all the .vi's and find all the sub vi's then resave them. That was a hassle and I wondered if there was an easier way to go about this but since it worked I wasn't too concerned until another user logged on the computer(Novell Network) then when a vi was opened it needed to search for sub vi's again. Does anyone have a solution? I thought that the vi path's were saved in the vi itself.
Thanks,

  • DB version required for Content DB install on windows 2000/2003

    Hello,
I looked at the certification matrix for content db and regarding the database it looks strange :
o Oracle RDBMS 11.1.0.6.0 (or higher) (see Note#1)
o Oracle RDBMS 10.2.0.2 (or higher)
o Oracle RDBMS 10.1.0.5 (or higher)
I don't know what version should I download in order to install on windows 2000/2003.
the single version available for windows (with the required version number) on the download page of the database is
"Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3) for Microsoft Windows Vista"
which is built especially for Vista. or is it ok to use it for 2000/2003 ?
for example in 10g release 1 I don't see any version >= 10.1.0.5. the greatest is 10.1.0.3. is it normal ? or do I misunderstood something ?
    thanks,
    Florin

We had a similar problem when trying to pre-install the JRE, then run a web page with an applet in it. Apparently there is a bug in the JRE installer (1.3.1_01) that puts extraneous values into the registry (it's in the bug database somewhere). As a work-around, you can delete those values out of the registry. I had to do this in our installer with a simple C++ program.
    Delete the INF values under:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\{8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93}\DownloadInformation
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\{CAFEEFAC-0013-0001-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA}\DownloadInformation
('0013-0001-0001' <==> JRE 1.3.1_01. Replace with your version)
    Hope this helps!

  • Trouble installing LabView 7.1 / 8.0 under Windows 2000

When attempting to install LabView 7.1 on a PC running Windows 2000,
    the installer produces the message
    "Fatal Error. Unhandled MSI Error"
    and fails.
I believe my PC account has full administrative privileges; furthermore, the Windows Installer
is version 3.1.4000.1823, ie. it should be up-to-date.
When attempting to install LabView 8.0 instead, the installer fails with the
message "Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property LV80DIR is undefined".
    Strangely enough, both installers appear to work on a different, but similarily configured PC;
however, I am unable to see what, if any, configuration differences there may be.
    Ideas, anyone?

didn't purchase the SSP, so I guess I can't even call NI for Installation assistance.
    [/quote]
Sorry I cant help with the installation issue itself, but this part is incorrect. Installation assistance is technically free. SSP is used for development questions/ issues. If it will not install at all this is a valid reason to contact NIs engineers.

  • Labview 2009 .exe not working with windows 2000

I created a simple vi with Labview 2009 to reset a counter in registry key. I changed it to an exe. The program runs fine on any machine with XP but it does not work on the machine I need it on which is running Windows 2000 SP4. I installed the 2009 runtime but I continue to get an error when it starts up saying the vi is not executable and that I need the full development to fix the errors. But like I said it works every where else. I've tried other exe wrote in LV2009 on this machine and they work. Is there something in my vi that is not compatible with Windows 2000?
    Thanks

Can anyone help me, I'd really like to try this software out.
    Thanks,

    David,
Can you try passing in the 1.5 VM location manually as listed below
    WorkshopInstaller.exe LAX_VM d:\bea\9server\jdk150_04\bin\java.exe
Can you also make sure that the 1.5 JVM value entry is the first entry in the PATH environment variable.
    cheers

  • Error in webstart install in windows 2000

When I try to install webstart on my windows 2000 machine I get this error: "Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\Java Web Start\javawebstart.dll"
I am installing as administrator also so I don't have a clue why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use the task manager to see if another copy of Java Web Start is running.
Windows will not let you overwrite an open file.
If that dosn't help, try uninstalling the old version of Java Web Start first.

  • Oracle 8.1.6 EE install to Windows 2000

Using Windows 2000 Advanced Server on a Compaq Proliant 3000, fresh install. Install Oracle 8iR2 (8.1.6) Enterprise Edition, accept default locations, choose typical install. Using the download from the Oracle Technet download pages (have tried downloading several times to make sure) and beginning from autorun.exe.
It doesn't install. I've tried on other machines too. I get an I/O error at the Intermedia install stage (it displays vszip.dll as the current file).
I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong and I've tried on other boxes and with custom install settings.
    Any ideas appreciated?
    Jason

    Hi,
I'm new with Oracle, and I'm having problems installing the database v8i on Windows XP-Home. My classmates have successfully installed it with both XP-Pro and XP-Home. The problem is that when I click on the Install icon, the disk spins for a while, then nothing happens, and the installation doesn't even start. When I list the files on the CD and click on the setup file and select Run from the pull down menu, and enter my user name (which has administrator privileges) and password, Oracle opens a window with a message that the registry cannot be modified because I don't have permissions, and closes down.
I know the CD is good, because I tried in a different computer. Are there any settings on Windows that I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • ITunes 7 won't install on windows 2000 (network error) but iTunes 6 works

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have been trying for almost a week to download the "Idol gives back" videos but I'm not able to with iTunes 6. Says I have to upgrade...sounds easy enough, so I download Itunes 7. I already have the latest quicktime installed and it works fine. The setup for iTunes 7, however, will not work. I get this exact message:
Could not access network location iTunes\.
I read in another forum that editing some registry keys would help but that didn't work. What does this error mean? And why won't iTunes 7 work with Windows 2000 whenever iTunes 6 works perfectly? This is very frustrating, all I want to do is download the Idol gives back videos to help out the children's charities. I never thought they would make it so difficult. I know I can't be the only one with iTunes 7 issues. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

that's normal. a number of the error messages that displayed with a number in 6.0.x and earlier versions of iTunes (like the 1606, the 1316 and certain species of the 1402) no longer get the number showing up with the error message with the 7.x installers. (it seems to have been part and parcel of the change away from basing the installers on InstallShield technology.)
okay, let's try the general advice from the following document to see if that can help:

  • Oracle BI Suite 10.1.3.2.0 does not install on Windows 2000

    hi all,
I downloaded the two zip files from Oracle site and extracted on d:\biee.
    I launched the setup.exe program under d:\orabiee\Windows\Server\Oracle_Business_Intelligence.
I specified the Complete installation and after creating the OracleBI folder, the installation hungs without any message.
I checked out the install.log file and I found this entry:
    STACK_TRACE: 7
    com.installshield.util.ProcessExecException: CreateProcess: C:\orabiee\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin\oc4j.cmd -start error=3
         at com.installshield.util.ProcessExec.executeProcess(ProcessExec.java:180)
         at com.installshield.wizardx.actions.ExecWizardAction.executeProcess(ExecWizardAction.java:412)
         at com.installshield.wizardx.actions.ExecWizardAction.run(ExecWizardAction.java:457)
         at com.siebel.analytics.install.ExecWizardActionCustom.run(ExecWizardActionCustom.java:79)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
As a matter of fact, the C:\orabiee\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin folder does not exist (and, of course neither the oc4j.cmd program).
    Is there any path/workaround?
    Thanx in advance
    Viking

    Hi Viking
First things first. Here are some things to consider:
    1. If using Windows 2000, you need to be using Windows 2000 Professional with SP4.
    2. You should not have any other Oracle software running during this install.
    3. You also not have ORACLE_HOME, TNS_ADMIN or any of the other Oracle environment variables set.
    4. You need to be a local administrator on the machine.
    5. You should not have a firewall enabled.
    6. You need to have a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) set for the machine.
    7. The FQDN should be set in the HOSTS file which you can find in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    8. You need to check the certification matrix for 10.1.3.2.0 and make sure it is available for Windows 2000 and that there are no other prerequisites?
    Does any of this help?
    Regards
    Michael

  • Labview 4.1 application and Windows 2000/XP

Can a Labview 4.1 application running on Windows Nt 4.0 be moved to an Industrial Computer running Windows 2000 or Windows XP?

Within Windows XP you have the option of running a program as if it was using a different version of Windows. Right click on the program and then change the "Run As" option to whatever version of windows it is designed to work with.

  • Error during CF9 install on Windows 2000

We are getting the following error message when attempting to run the installer for CF9:
    Microsoft VC++ 2008 Runtime
Installer has determined that Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable Package is not installed. Select OK to install now.
To perform your own installation, select CANCEL. After installation
    restart the installer to continue.
When I click OK, it looks like the VC++ install happens. I restart the CF9 installer and receive the same message.
I then tried to install the VC++ runtime manually from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a5c84275-3b97-4ab7-a40d-3802b2af5 fc2&displaylang=en
That install of VC++ ran with no error, and I can see VC++ in my Add/Remove Programs list. When I attempt to run the CF9 installer, I get the same error message again about VC++ not being installed. I've restart the entire system numerous times with no luck.
I'd really like to install CF9, but can't get the installer to run. Anyone have a solution for me?
This is a fully patched Windows 2000 server.

It looks like their suggested manual install worked.  It completed installation and although I haven't fully tested it yet it appears to be running.
Here is how they said to do it manually.  It involves creating a "cf.properties" text file and running the installation exe from a command window.  Here are their instructions:
The trick is to do a silent install ( ColdFusion_9_WWE_win.exe is the downloaded installer from adobe.com)
    C:\>ColdFusion_9_WWE_win.exe -i silent -f cf.properties
    Contents of my cf.properties file

    SILENT_LICENSE_MODE=full
    SILENT_SERIAL_NUMBER=

  • 7.5 won't install on windows 2000, can I still sync my ipod?

My ipod wouldn't be recognized by my Itunes, therefore stopped syncing with that older version of Itunes. I went through the troubleshooting, uninstalled my Itunes, attempted to install version 7.5 but was cut off when I was told I needed Windows XP or Vista. Before downloading the installer, it said Windows 2000 w/ service pack 4 would work. No, i'm not sure if I have service pack 4, nevertheless, I just want to sync songs onto my ipod.
Is it possible to re-obtain an older version of Itunes, simply so I can sync my music onto my Ipod? If not, can I have some other suggestions

+When I check the ipod once completed nothing there. The software version shows as 1.2.2. When I try to upgrade is says it already upgraded. If I try to restore it still stays as 1.2.2. Not sure what the problem is.+
    Firmware version 1.2.2 ... sounds like you've got a 5th generation iPod.
If so, try the *Windows 2000* instructions (for reverting back to firmware 1.2.1) given in the following document:
iPod (5th generation): Songs and other content do not appear after updating to software version 1.2.2

  • HT1926 How can I download and install for Windows 2000?

How can I install iTunes for Windows 2000?

Even if you would manage to find one of the ancient versions of iTunes, like from here: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php,
it will be very likely not to work on Windows 2000 and also not being accepted by Apple's servers.

  • Java not recognizing IPv6 is installed on windows 2000

Hello, I'm having an issue getting Java to recognize that IPv6 is installed on a windows 2000 SP4 box. I've installed IPv6, have set up link-local addresses, and DNS. I can ping other machines on my subnet with their IPv6 addresses perfectly fine. However, when I run an application that attempts to bind or connect to an IPv6 address, such as fe80::5%4 when specifying the scope-id, or even fe80::5 without the scope-id, Java throws an exception that the Protocol Family is not supported on my machine. I am using JRE 1.5.0_01 on the machine. Anyone know how I can get Java to recognize IPv6 is installed on my machine? Thanks

The IPv6 stack for Windows 2000 was a research stack - right? J2SE needs the updated and integrated stack that came with Windows XP SP1 or 2003 Server. See:

  • LabVIEW program will not run on Windows 2000

I need to run parts of a LabVIEW program on a PC which does not contain all the hardware required to run the full version. This used to work on Windows 95/98 but on Windows 2000 I get error message 'Capabilty not supported. VI was stopped at node 0x1BC of subvi "Out Port.vi"'. This program is very large and full of references of this type, is there an easy way around this problem?

    Hi,
I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but Windows 2000 is built on top of the architecture of Windows NT. Win NT/2000 treats direct memory access differently to Win95/98.
Have a look at the following link and see if that helps - unfortunately it involves re-writing (well, re-linking) the .vi's that are calling the out port.vi. The link is in reference to writing to the parallel port through direct memory access, but the .vi's are based on writing to any memory location.
